Best New Cocktail Bars in Charleston Right Now | Eater Carolinas

"Vietnamese restaurant Two Bit Club offers classic fare, such as spring rolls and banh mi. At the bar, those same Southeast Asian flavors are incorporated into the cocktails. The Eight-Pho-Three uses pho broth with St. George Basil Eau de Vie, while the Sweetened & Condensed is a boozy take on Vietnamese coffee." - Erin Perkins

First Look at Vietnamese Restaurant Two Bit Club, Opening in Charleston | Eater Carolinas

"Opening June 19 and operated by Indigo Road Hospitality Group as the team’s first Vietnamese concept, this restaurant at 93 Society Street is attached to Hotel Richemont and features an upscale dining room with a bar, outdoor seating, and a chef’s counter. The space is finished with rich wood details, indigo plush banquettes, hanging plants, and brass light fixtures, and is illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows facing Society Street. Executive chef Jesus Carlo “Jelo” Tria, born in Manila, trained at the Charleston Culinary Institute and brings experience from The Peacock and Mesu; he says the menu reflects his background and love of bold flavors meant to spark connection. Offerings include Vietnamese classics such as spring rolls, papaya salad, pho, bahn mi, bun thit nuong (vermicelli noodles topped with pork), com chien dac biet (fried rice), roasted duck with hoisin sauce, and more. The concept’s name nods to an 18th-century charitable society that met at Poinsett Tavern, and service hours will be Sunday–Thursday 5–10 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 5–11 p.m." - Erin Perkins

The fried rice was so good, and the green beans! I also loved the Vietnamese sundae! I highly recommend the steak! Chef Jelo did a great job with the menu! I highly recommend sitting at the chef's table for an amazing experience.

Very good meal. Highlights were the sweet fish and spring rolls. Excellent service, especially for only having been open for one day. Bar Service was on point with memorable cocktails. Very easy to recommend this place.

Tonight we ate at Two Bit Club, a new (opened just 4 days before this review!) Vietnamese French restaurant inside the also newly opened Richemont Hotel on Society St in Charleston. I'll begin by saying that the hospitality and service of all the staff we came in contact with was excellent! For those unfamiliar with Vietnamese food beyond Phò and Bahn Mi, both of which are on the menu, there are 5 tenets of Vietnamese flavors that can be spread throughout a single dish or an entire meal. They are: Salty Sweet Sour Bitter Spicy These flavor profiles were evident throughout the meal and were very well balanced. We had : Tôm Rim- Caramelized Shrimp with Garlic, Sate, Red Onions, and Chili Caramel Sauce MÌ Kho- Pork Dry Egg Noodles with Lemongrass Pork, Quail Eggs, Bean Sprouts, Green Onion, Fried Shallot, and Garlic Soy Noodle Sauce Báhn Mì Thịt- Crispy Pork Sandwich with Lemongrass Pork, Duck Paté, Aromatic Herbs, Pickled Carrot and Daikon, and Sweet Chili Aioli Gà Loli- Chicken Drumsticks with Caramelized Fish Sauce Sưò'n Heo- Smoked Pasture raised Pork Spareribs with Honey Hoisin Sauce and Pickled Greens Bò Bit Têt- Happy Tiger Steak- 16 Oz Prime Ribeye, Vietnamese Steak Sauce Khoai Chiên- Crispy Potatoes Everything we tried was delicious and we will definitely be going back! Had dinner at Two Bit Club and it was an amazing time. Cocktails were on point, very quick and friendly service, and the waitstaff were exceedingly knowledgeable! For the quality of the food, the prices were very reasonable and everything tasted incredibly fresh. My only regret is the size of my stomach, would have loved to try more dishes!

Excellent service, recommendations were detailed and our server Charlotte was the highlight of our experience. We had caramelized shrimp, brussels, market fish, curry shrimp and the tuna tartar. Highly recommend the brussels. The curry was not runny and was not spicy. We sat at the chef's table and eyed other options as well. Next time we will order the shrimp wraps, ribs, beef fried rice, and the duck. Looking forward to our return and seeing other reviews. If you are reading this review to make a decision on where to go, this is it.

Google
went on opening night and sat at the chef's bar, had an amazing time with the kitchen staff like Chef Jelo and Amara and ate amazing food! Our server Michael was awesome, recommended fantastic drinks, and gave a spot on explanation for the delicious oysters. Had the tuna tartar, the spring rolls, the roast duck, and the crème brûlée. All of which I would wholeheartedly recommend and will absolutely be having again.

A very enjoyable dinner with attentive service, delicious food and a sophisticated seductive atmosphere. Everyone knew what they were doing and kept things humming on a busy night, open for less than a week. There's lovely place settings, an open kitchen, and a good selection of food in decent portion sizes. I had a refreshing yellowfin tuna crudo, spring rolls, the grilled fish entree which was snapper, and the outstanding creme brulee with lemongrass custard, and passionfruit Chantilly cream for Vietnamese flair. Wine by the glass was good, and my server was very knowledgeable about the choices. I felt welcomed and appreciated as a guest.

Yelp
My friend and I had the wonderful opportunity to join Two Bit Club for their family and friends event. I'm very grateful for the opportunity and I want to make it clear this review has nothing to do with that. They had no idea I was a Yelp reviewer. TBC is located next to a hotel and there is a parking garage right across the street as well as street parking which makes this spot fairly accessible. The interior was very well put together. I loved everything about the atmosphere and their decorations. I'm a sucker for open kitchens so I personally liked that that was one of the first things you saw upon entry. You could tell some of the staff were new at this but to be honest, they were great. I think for their soft run everyone nailed it. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. They had a decent knowledge of the menu and solid recommendations. Our server was Manny who stayed on top of things and was the sweetest. Now the part you've all been waiting for.... what about the food? Every single dish we had was phenomenal. I am so picky when I go out to eat and have been disappointed with several of Charleston's newer restaurants that tend to put on a good show but half-ass the menu. At TBC that wasn't the case. We started out with the tuna tartar that was crisp and refreshing. We followed it with the pork dry noodles and coconut curry clams that were equally flavorful and steamy! For our main dinner we got the beef steak and duck steak with a side of the sweet chili potatoes and crispy fish sauce Brussels. *chefs kiss* The crust in both of the steaks was delicious! For dessert we had the lemon grass crème brûlée (my favorite), the coffee ice cream and mango sticky rice. All of this was paired with a glass of their signature red wine. (My friend hates wine and she ended up having two glasses.) I don't think I'll stop thinking about this place for sometime. It's already at the top of my list to return to once they officially open. You're going to want to add it to yours too. There is indoor and outdoor seating but I would recommend reservations as the space isn't incredibly large and you want to guarantee a seat. This was such a pleasant surprise and I hope the very best for TBC. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
A beautiful, seductive space hidden off from the street and delicious Vietnamese food beautifully presented made a wonderful dinner. Service is excellent from greeting to good-bye, an attentive server knew the menu and wines well, and I was impressed by things humming during a very busy service only days after opening. All the food was delicious, well prepared and satisfying portions. I enjoyed the yellowfin tuna crudo, fresh spring rolls, grilled snapper, and lemongrass creme brulee with passionfruit Chantilly cream for dessert. Wines by the glass were good and my server was very familiar with the choices.

Yelp
Walking in, we are greeted by a lovely young woman who was super attentive and they were very kind to accommodate our request for a different table, we had a booth so we could sit side-by-side and I'm glad we did. There's a little quiet when we first got there, but it picked up and was lively. Our server was Noel. She was super friendly and made wonderful suggestions, we try to everything she suggested and honestly it was all delicious. We had tuna tartare yellowtail Crudo. We had the curry noodles with pork papaya salad only thing that needed a little fine-tuning, but as I'd only been open one week, I was very impressed with how well trained the staff were and it's certainly delightful place to be. I should've known, it's part of the Indigo Road Group and they always have wonderful offerings and I dine with them often. Definitely go, you will not be disappointed:-)

Yelp
I should've taken more pictures of the food but alas... I was too overtaken with consuming each incredible bite! Our server, Charlotte, was extremely knowledgeable, so kind, and lively. The managers, food runners and even the trainees were SO attentive, well informed, and friendly. 12/10 on everything. The dishes we were least impressed by, being the pork egg noodles and beef fried rice were still perfection, they just didn't compare to the unexpected flavor bomb of the split apps and duck entree we ordered. The other apps we split being the tartar, the shrimp, the muscles, and the pork egg rolls. Each and every bite was delectable and we sincerely appreciated every staff members who worked with us. Also, just a heads up every seat in the house was booked on a Thursday (even the bar) so definitely make a reservation! Will be back for sure.

Yelp
11 years I have been in Charleston after living in and around NY City for 35 years - where great asian food is abundant. Charleston, not so much. So the bar was high and what a delight was dinner with my wife this evening at TBC. We had the spring (fresh) roll, the crudo, the clams in coconut broth, and the grilled snapper. Every one a killer dish. Service was flawless for a new establishment. Somewhat expensive yes, but well worth every penny. Best meal out in Charleston in a very long time (and we are out often).

Yelp
When evaluating a restaurant most diners usually consider the food, of course, but also the service, atmosphere, decor, and value. Restaurants rarely succeed on all all fronts but the Two Bit Club is a 5 on all accounts. The chef has created creative takes on Vietnamese staple dishes. All of which were outstanding. The cocktails were also familiar but unique. Especially the Quyt Spritz.
