We ordered a cake tasting in hopes of ordering our wedding cake from this bakery. The box was passed to me over a wired fence— no kind words, introduction or anything. Just instructions to let the cake come to room temp. The cakes were dry and not good. Plain and simple. They tasted like they’d been in the freezer awhile. I can’t fathom someone thinking it’s ok to sell me a frozen cake to serve as a sample for my wedding cake.
We were so sad and so disappointed. Confused about all the good reviews. We got a refund on the tasting.
Update:
I have time today.
I came across this bakery again while looking for a phone number for another business, and remembered that I had never left a public review. So I did it now. There’s no expiration date on sharing a n experience and a refund doesn’t change the experience I had or buy my silence. I don’t have to be in distress to review a business.
It is shameful that you would speak as though I am lying or like I’m a trouble making customer, and with such a poor attitude. You know you served old frozen cake, and you know you or whomever I met, handed me a box over a fence, rudely. I respect and love small businesses and am a small biz owner myself. Maybe it was an off week or some other variable impacted the experience we had. Regardless, your attitude both in response to me privately, and here publicly is pretty yucky. You can keep your snark and defensiveness and maybe consider replacing it with humility and accountability. Had you offered either of those things privately, I would not have left a public review.
Happy Sunday.
