The 10 Best Restaurants in Clarkston, Georgia | Eater Atlanta

"Yapar Shel and Roi San run this takeout business from their Clarkston home, serving tried-and-true Burmese dishes two days a week. Think rakhine mont di (rice noodles and catfish), mala steamed fish, and the traditional Burmese dessert shwe yin aye (sweet sticky rice, tapioca pearls, and pandan jelly noodles). Dishes from this pop-up cost between $7 and $12 and typically sell out quickly, so it’s best to order the minute a fresh menu drops each week. Follow Two Fish on Facebook for updates on menus and pickup times." - Beth McKibben

Amazing food! We ordered several things to-go mohinga, tea leaf salad, kyay oo sigyet, and coconut curry chicken soup. The service was so friendly and she was so helpful. We always wanted to try Burmese cuisine and she guided us through the menu. We loved the atmosphere. We drove from North of Atlanta and we will definitely be back to try more things and for more of the Mohinga (my favorite)

I thought I reviewed this place but it seems to be missing. This place exceeds the quality of a chain restaurant. The family that owns this business are some of the kindest people I've met in a while. The lack quality of service in alot of places has turned me into a complete recluse, I rather eat cold cuts at home than go out. I met some people from Myanmar when I traveled and they mentioned their country's food. So when I came back to the states I decided to look for a venue that serves these dishes. I went outside of my safe zone to eat outside of home. On my 1rst visit, I was greeted by the mother, a very kind lady, she gave me some suggestions of what to choose. I ordered the Monhiga, an incredible dish. She mentioned upfront that it is spicy, for me it was nothing too spicy I couldn't handled. You are getting a properly cooked meal at a good value. My 2nd visit I spoke with the father, he was very down to earth and we had a nice conversation. I ordered the Nan GYI Thoke, another incredible dish. The next few visits the daughter worked the counter, again this family has been bestow with the upmost kindness and it shows in the parent's daughter. She told me some history with their family and Myanmar. This time I ordered two dishes, the Shan noodles and Nan GYI Thoke. The Shan noodles are my favorite. The taste contains the spices but something similar to a mint i believe (Forgive me I guessed wrong). The flavor covers everything I could possibly want in a meal. The place has a choice of a long counter to eat at, a table for two in the corner and multiple spots outside. The inside and outside are well maintained. You can pay via cash, card, nfc and believe via phone orders, so alot of options are covered. I did try another Myanmar cuisine place near by and it was also nice but Two Fish is something special, I don't think I'll taste what I had here no matter where I go in the world and the customer service should be the standard for alot of restaurants. **Update may 2nd 2025** I went to Thailand and ate at a local Myanmar (Shan) restaurant and my review above still holds true. The Shan restaurant I ate at was definitely good and people were friendly but two fish still takes the taste to the next level, I have a good feeling I'm gonna miss the food and the staff of two fish. Nan gyi thoke isn't on the menu over here

Food was very good. Woman who took our order was patient and helpful. Without being asked, she brought us extra bowls in case we wanted to share. Saw that they have Biryani in to go containers near counter too. We'll be back, thanks!

What a tastebud adventure. Very tasty & spicy. The Shan Noodle was fire. The beef salad & mango salad were on point. Excellent meal overall. The kicker was everything was under $10. What? Give this little gem a try if you want to try something extraordinary.

We visited Myanmar in 2013, we had some great dishes there in Mandalay and Bagan. Food at Two Fish is authentic to what we had in Mandalay, it was very tasty and flavorful, strongly recommend

Amazing restaurant in Clarkston. Flavorful and complex dishes. One of the better meals I’ve had around Atlanta in a while. Tea leaf salad is a must !

Yelp
Two Fish Myanmar Cuisine is a Burmese restaurant that dishes out comfort food. The restaurant itself is very small; there is one small table and one long table near the window for seating. But it is located in a small plaza with other restaurants and stores that has a lot of communal outdoor seating (benches, tables). It was not busy when I went, but it took a while for the food to come out. However, I do recognize that it is a small, family-run business so it takes time to make the food. My friends and I came here with our Burmese friend and based on her recommendations, we got the Beef Salad, Samosas, A Sone Thoke, Monhinga, Ohn No Khauk Swe, and Nan Gyi Thoke. I did not eat the Beef Salad or A Sone Thoke, mostly because I do not like vegetables, but my friends liked those dishes. I really liked the Samosas, which were crispy and had potatoes, minced chicken, and other spices inside. I think my favorite dish was the Monhinga! It is a rice noodle and fish soup with lemongrass. If you are Southeast Asian or eat a lot of Southeast Asian food, then this dish will taste really familiar. The Ohn No Khauk Swe is a coconut noodle soup that tasted good and coconut-y while the Nan Gyi Thoke is the Burmese version of spaghetti and it is served cold, but the sauce and toppings worked well with the dish. A lot of the dishes also came with eggs, which I really liked! This was my first time having Burmese food and it was pretty good! It definitely is reminiscent of other Southeast Asian food that I have had, which is very comforting. I think everyone should check out Two Fish Myanmar Cuisine for Burmese food, which can definitely be hard to find.

Yelp
As someone originally from Burma (Myanmar), it makes me happy when another restaurant opens up in the metro area that serves Burmese cuisine. I was able to check it out this weekend and came back happy! The location is on a newly built area with a few other shops, all centered by a communal area with tables and grass. While this is a great idea for nice weather days like when I went, this could be an issue when it's raining or more extreme outside. There's very limited seating inside, with only one full table and chairs. There's a lot of signature dishes I grew up eating, and from the samples I tried, all of it was very flavorful and on point to what I think it should be. Tea Leaf salad is a must! For our entrees, we went with Nan Gyi Thoke and Ohn No Khawuk Swe, and really enjoyed both. I do wish they gave the Asian style soup spoons instead of generic plastic ones, would have made the soups easier to consume. Also got the Falooda as dessert, a mix of all kinds of jellies and other things in a pink drink. Service was courteous, and the prices were very fair. I hope whoever reads this can go check it out and support the restaurant!

Yelp
Amazing new restaurant run by a Burmese family. We recommend anything and everything at this time, simply to give the spot some exposure. We read about the restaurant in a local publication, and drove all the way from downtown. Before we went there, of course, we understood that Myanmar is located between China, Indian, and Thailand. Can you imagine this type of fusion? Well, we recommend you go because at minimum you'll be able to say that you had Burmese food! Don't get us wrong, we loved all of the dishes and would love to describe them, but we urge locals to beat a path to this place in particular, and if you love the place, review it.
