The 15 Best Restaurants In Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Two Robbers should be a case study in successful restaurant glow-ups. Originally, the casual spot was solely focused on seltzer. But the glowing green bar now serves other great drinks (like the frozen tie-dye piña colada), savory poutine, and crispy fries. Most importantly, the burgers here, be it the charred-edge smashburger or the 8-oz pub version, are up there with the best in the city. And if that wasn’t enough, both burgers and cocktails are just 10 bucks at happy hour." - candis mclean, alison kessler

The 16 Best Break-Up Restaurants In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"There’s a saying about the best way to get over someone is to get under…you know the rest. But after a five-year relationship, you’re so out of the social loop that you don’t know why people can’t post feet anymore. Increase your chances of ending your night with someone new by hanging out on the patio outside of Fishtown’s Two Robbers. The colorful hard-seltzer cocktail bar gives you access to everyone coming from Frankford Hall, Johnny Brenda’s, Murph’s Bar, and even Barcade (if you’re that desperate). Bite into a smash burger, an order of fries, and wait for the magic of someone you’ll never share your wifi password with. " - Candis Mclean

Two Robbers Fishtown - Review - Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"In many ways, Two Robbers has the same atmosphere as neighboring Middle Child Clubhouse and Frankford Hall. But unlike the other, more conventional bars, this colorful shop’s sole focus is on its eponymous hard seltzer brand. You’ll find fridges stocked with rows of six packs, and a glowing green bar where you can order fizzier twists on micheladas and gin and tonics. When it comes to the food, there are pub staples, like a good burger and poutine. They also have scallop crudo and stracciatella tacos, but we’d suggest you skip the more unique offerings. It’s an easy place to head to without a reservation and pass time with a pineapple ginger buck and fries." - Candis R. McLean

Google
Popped in for a drink while in the area and would come back. The vibe is great. Bright colors, clean space, super friendly staff. The drinks are interesting with tons of options. I enjoyed the cherry limeade drink I got and it was aesthetically pleasing. Their bathroom (while hard to find) is strangely nice, which I always appreciate. We didn't get food but I would definitely consider coming back to do so. Great option while in Fishtown.

Google
This place is great for both drinks and food. They have rotating drafts and they have been a hit every time I've gone there. One of their plays is the grilled avocado with panzu sauce and Wasabi which is a must have, the flavor combo is great. I was very impressed with the burger, it was everything you'd want in a burger. Juicy, tasty, filling, good condiments and burger sauce, a go to place for burgers for us. They have a nice outdoor area in the back that's walled off on the corner of a triangle block off Frankford. Overall a great spot for dinner and drinks or just to hang. The vibe they built is unique with an atmosphere perfect for a casual hangout

Google
Came for Friday happy hour to see if the smash burger is worth the hype… indeed it is! It had such great flavor, the only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the raw onions. I would get it without them next time. I also loved the fries, they were battered and super crispy (my fav). Spicy margarita was delicious and just strong enough. The atmosphere was great, clean and service was quick. Would absolutely come back!

Ashley King

Google
Their smash burgers are delicious - probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in Philly. Plus the fries are super crisp and crunchy. Its a really chill place and the bartender was very nice. Music was great. Next time I come back, I’ll try their alcohol and seltzers and stuff like that. 10/10

Google
Can’t believe I slept on this place for so long because I was never super impressed with their seltzer. I came after seeing the numbing pickle bites on insta and wow… what a coooool place aesthetically, very creative drinks and yummy food. Pickles weren’t the best part, loved the taste of the breading but it didn’t stick well. The burger was a solid old fashioned smash burger. The cocktails were the highlight. The sesame drink was literally out of this world. Martini was top notch. Service was friendly. Will keep coming back!

Google
Great cocktails and burgers. My friends have lived in Philly for over 12 years, and they said these are the best cocktails in town, and I see why. The cheeseburger w fries are amazing as well. Great spot.

Google
This was really fun to go to. We dined in for dinner and got a bunch of smash burgers which were good. We also got the happy meal for 2 but it was $35 per person so basically $70. It included 2 smart burgers, a starter plate, and 5 drinks. Nice vibe but a bit expensive. Definitely recommend trying it out

melissa

Google
Went for the Frog drinks, stayed for the fries I wish I could eat forever. Staff is so friendly, easily my favorite smash burger in the city. Also the fries? THE CHEESE CURDS?? If i could inject it into my veins I would. When in doubt of where to eat, Two Robbers is always the best choice. Pictured are the delicious drinks. Not pictured are the cheese curds, burger and fries because they disappear before a picture could be taken.

Yelp
This is my 400th Yelp Review! Two Robbers is one of my favorite local spots to dine outdoors. They don't have a long menu (which I like) but what they do have available is always really good. Their Adult Happy Meal is our go-to and a STEAL for $35pp for two burgers, one app to share and a bucket of the seltzers. The staff is friendly, the space is aesthetically, pleasing, indoor and out, and the food/drinks are great.

Yelp
Stopped by Two Robbers in Fishtown as one of the bar stops for our daughter's 21st birthday celebration. Out of all the places we visited, this was probably our least favorite. The service was great--friendly and attentive--but the food and drinks didn't quite hit the mark for us. I tried the cherry limeade, which tasted like a sour patch kid in liquid form--super sour up front with a bit of sweetness and bitterness at the end. It wasn't really my thing, and it took a while to finish. A friend ordered the cheese curds, which we initially loved--so much so that we got a second round. Unfortunately, the second batch came out a little too well done, so consistency was an issue. The space itself has a chill, industrial vibe--definitely more of a laid-back hangout spot. Not terrible, but not one we'd rush back to.

Yelp
Best dirty martini?? Oh yeah. Of course once I saw that @tworobbersfishtown was featured in Philly mag for their "world's best martini", I had to come here asap. Olive brine. WOW. Their smash burger and hot dog were delicious too. Go figure, dirty martini paired with a hot dog. More reason to love Fishtown. And we esp loved our bartender Alexander. He was super sweet, personable and helpful. It's a great space too. We'll be back!

Yelp
The best smashburger I've had! I mean, I don't really have a reference because the only other official smashburger I've had is, well...at Smashburger. But this one was better (less greasy). And they came with a nice side of fries! Apparently the smashburger entrees are $10 (as opposed to $16) during their Smashburger Happy Hour on weekdays from 4PM-6PM. They should probably advertise this better, as they would probably get more people rolling through. Service was friendly and attentive. But I'm not sure how I feel about the decor. The interior paint color is bit off-putting, and it's giving a little bit of dark frat basement. Considering it is comparable in price to Shake Shack, this will probably be my first choice for local East Kenzo/Fishtown burgers. I'll be back!

Yelp
Two Robbers has a really nice ambiance. The space is aesthetically pleasing and the vibe is laid-back. The menu is simple, with tasty staples that are perfect for a casual meal. We both got the Two Robbers smash burger served with fries. The fries were delicious and the burgers were satisfying and cheesy. I love burgers so I'm a little biased, but this was a really good one. I also ordered a vodka soda that was fresh and crisp, super refreshing. I definitely want to come back during happy hour because the deal is dope. Our servers were nice and the service was quick and attentive.

Yelp
Two Robbers in fishtown offers a relaxing vibe offering great cocktails and smash burgers. The menu is fairly offering burgers and fries but everything was delicious. Offering delicious fresh beef and toppings. They also have their own vodka setzlers you can purchase at their restaurant. Service was great and didn't have to wait too long for a table on a Saturday night. A great spot to get burgers and have a drink in fishtown. It also features a great big patio to enjoy on a day with great weather.

Yelp
Service was not the greatest. We were seated promptly but after 15 minutes of being sat we had to wave someone down to get a server. Still took an additional 10 before anyone came over. We both order a smash burger with fries. Excellent burger and fries!!! Also ordered their world famous martini and the old fashion. Very unimpressed. Stick to the vodka sodas and beer when coming here. Overall the ambiance and outdoor seating is what made the restaurant appealing but the food and drinks were just okay.
google avatar

Amelia C.

Yelp
Awesome deal during happy hour! 4-6PM. $10 for a burger and ton of fries. $4 for the canned seltzers- pineapple one was really good. We added an extra $6 to make my order loaded fries. The smash burgers were delicious, crispy edges!
google avatar

Kailey L.

Yelp
Love everything here. The food, drinks, vibes, a good happy hour. Servers have always been really nice as well. Every time i am in Fishtown i am tempted to stop by!
google avatar

Tori F.

Yelp
Got sat right away with 2 at 6:30 on a Friday. Service was fast, drinks were delicious, and food was hot and tasty all for a good price. Plenty of outdoor seating. They don't take reservations but if you get here early in the night or right at the start of happy hour at 4 you should be alright.

Yelp
I mostly came here bc they were collabing with a coffee shop I enjoy, however, I feel like it just didn't hit the spot. Nothing was bad, but nothing really wowed me. Che Thai drink - need to have crushed ice. I was unable to get any of the fruit. The liquor they used also was pretty strong tasting so it threw it off a bit for me Scallop crudo - tasted fresh but a tad bland. Salmon kho - this was my favorite of all the dishes we tried. Flavorful. I would probably come back to try their standard menu esp since they got such great reviews.

Yelp
Absolutely love the owners, the staff, the vibes, and the smash burger. This place was my freaking spot when I lived in Fishtown and the design is great!
google avatar

Yelp
It's the absolute best smash burger I have had here in Fishtown! If you come during happy hour, it's $10. The fries are also incredibly good--the ones that are fried twice, crispy outside and heavenly inside--drool! And then there's Chandler, one of the best bartenders we've ever had. She is friendly and knowledgeable and never forgets a name or a drink you like. The outside space is vast and great for groups. I almost didn't come here the first time as I'm not a fan of hard seltzer or seltzer in general, but don't let that stop you. They have a great bar bites menu, higher-end cocktails, beer, etc. It's such a chill environment that you'll come back, as we have, again and again! Family-friendly, too!
google avatar

John Michael S.

Yelp
Cocktails were great! The menu was limited but that didn't slack on the flavor. The spicy fish sandwich was so spicy but so good! I can't wait to go back
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
Not a large variety of drinks but it is a seltzer themed bar. The food was surprisingly good, very nice apps to munch on. Love the Indian twist in food.
google avatar

Katherine M.

Yelp
Looooove their happy hour! Smash burger is always a hit and the drinks are getting better and better. I much prefer the vodka seltzers that they'd been doing! Patio is decent but has sooooo much potential to be even better.
google avatar

Carolina J.

Yelp
Happy to see the juicy Lucy be a part of the happy hour. Hands down one of the best deals in town. Burger and fries 10 bucks.
google avatar

Vicky F.

Yelp
I went for happy hour and it was worth it! We had burgers with fries that were so tasty and their vodka drinks were great.
google avatar

Kayla R.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night for dinner and a drink before a concert. Food was so good, one of the best smash burgers I've ever had! Fries were crispy and golden, cooked to perfection. Also enjoyed the cocktails, I tried the Ricky Balboa and it was super refreshing. It was super dark and loud in there when we went which makes sense for a Saturday night but if you are looking to have full conversations it's prob not the best spot for that!
google avatar

Noelle W.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday early afternoon and it was pretty lively but plenty of seats at the cool round bar. The service was quick and I got one of their canned seltzers which was nice and refreshing. I was short on time so didn't try any food, but the menu looked good and I'd definitely want to come back to try the cocktails which sounded delicious.
google avatar

Chanthorn H.

Yelp
This really fell short of my expectations. My group and I came here specifically for a collab they were doing with CaPhe Roasters. The dishes and drinks were just not a hit with my entire party. You can tell that the drinks were made with house liquor and that the food choices didn't blend well together. The banh mi was way too creamy and just made the bread fall apart. As for their seltzers, not really my thing. It was a bit too bitter.
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
Very laid back and stylish. Grabbed some drinks with friends and had a great time catching up. The servers were quick and gave some insight to this interesting drink menu. I would come back with friends, definitely!
google avatar

Kirby J.

Yelp
Okay listen- the space is super cool and seemingly holds a ton of people. The patio is huge and the staff is great. The drink menu is limited to mostly their seltzers and seltzer-based cocktails, but all of them are delicious, especially on a summer afternoon. But... the food menu is INSANE, and not in a good way. Tacos with cheese, fruit, and granola. Eggplant with puréed tinned fish on top. Beef tartare with rice crispies. Foie gras on an otherwise sweet toast dish. I ordered the grilled avocado and literally got a charred avocado cut in half with a little wasabi underneath and soy sauce in the hole. Luckily it was cheap but... what!?! Tone back the menu and this place will easily be five stars, but right now it's too pretentious to recommend for anything except a few summer cocktails.
google avatar

Abraham K.

Yelp
Beautiful, spacious , and colorful inside. They also sell merch and cases of their seltzer. Basically just burgers and fries on their menu, and a $22 combo where you can get a smash burger, a basket of fries, and a seltzer. The service was a bit spotty and it took awhile to order.
google avatar

Amber Y.

Yelp
I'm not a huge seltzer girl, but really enjoyed my experience at Two Robbers. The burger and fries were amazing and I will be getting that every time I'm there. The fries were definitely double fried because they were SO crispy. They also make cocktails with their seltzers and they give you fun straws and umbrellas and it was so cute. The bartender was really nice and helpful. The interior design was really unique and cool as well.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Came here a little while ago with friends for some drinks and snacks. Our waitress was nice and was attentive without us feeling rushed. Their seltzers are pretty good, but I strongly preferred their frozen drinks. The eggplant dish was really not it, insanely fishy and weird flavor combo with the mint on top. I think this is more of a place where sticking to the less adventurous options is probably better. The poutine was a little salty, but still hit the spot for me. I'd probably come back for casual drinks w friends and try their burgers. Stay far far away from the eggplant
google avatar

Agnes H.

Yelp
Yummy yummy burger and seltzer cocktails! I always love me a smash burger - thin, crispy edge, and easy to eat! Soft bun and just a simple (but not plain) burger. Paired really well with the watermelon cocktail made with their watermelon seltzer. We enjoyed their drink so much, we bought a pack to take home. Now we are a seltzer convert. Will be coming back!
google avatar

Kenneth N.

Yelp
Went to get a quick bite in the afternoon on a Saturday. Honestly, great service, has very good simple basic foods to some fancy unique ones. Tried the smash burger and it was very good. Also had this avocado dish that was very good. Would recommend.

Yelp
I went to check out Two Robbers with my sister for a late brunch/lunch on the weekend and we had a super nice time. The food was really great, we tried their breakfast sandwich and fried fish sandwich, as well as their chandhi beef tartare, inspired by panipuri. The beef tartare dish was really unique and really delicious. The server told us to poke a hole through the crunchy golgappa and then put the tartare inside with the rice krispies and sauce they provided and eat it all together like that. The inside of Two Robbers is really memorable, very spacious with bar and table seating, and just really cute. We also split a seltzer (the orange mango flavor) and really enjoyed it. The seltzers they serve are really good, light and crisp with plenty of the fruit flavor coming through without that intense sugar taste that some seltzers have. They also have a few wine and seltzer cocktail options and alcohol free options, so there's something for everyone. Would highly recommend stopping by, it makes for a cute date spot as well as just a great place to take a group of friends! You can also easily purchase a pack of seltzers to take home there if you like something you try.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since they opened but it's been pretty busy the couple times we have tried to stop in. Ended up going after work on a Friday around 5pm when there were only a handful of people there. The service was really good but there wasn't many people there yet. I had the burger, fries, and seltzer deal. My partner had the portobello burger and a seltzer. She's vegetarian and there is not a similar deal for the veggie option. It worked for us because the fries were plenty to share but others could be frustrated about this oversight. The burgers were really good. Smaller than anticipated but more filling than expected. We were full after our burgers and shared fries. I don't think the price point for the food is that bad despite some of the other reviews. The seltzer on the hand is overpriced, IMO. $7 for a can is pretty steep, especially since it's their place serving their own seltzer too. I'd be okay with $5 for a can or $7 for a 16oz draft. Overall I enjoyed it and we might go back 1 or 2 times a year but it won't be a frequent spot for us. That's a bit unfortunate because we live close by so stopping in on weekday would be nice. It's just a bit steep for that and not enticing enough for a Friday or Saturday when we're willing to spend more. Not really sure where is place fits in long-term and I wonder if they will be able to stay busy once the newness wears off.
google avatar

Cameron B.

Yelp
Haven't tried the smash burger but it looks great. Fries were good and they have some pretty unique drinks to try. The vibe there is really what brings you in and really elevates the experience. The bartenders act as great guides for the drinks on the menu you're on the fence about too.
google avatar

Andrew F.

Yelp
Delicious food, super friendly staff...would absolutely come back. We each got the smash burgers, loaded fries and frozen Pina coladas. Best burger I've had in Philly. Staff were attentive and just so nice. I'll come back for the food and due to how well we were treated. Thank you for a great first experience!

Heidi Z.

Yelp
We've been coming to Two Robbers since it opened and initially really enjoyed it. The burgers and poutine were always a hit, and we were happy to support a Fishtown establishment. However, over the past 6 months, the quality has severely declined. During our most recent visit, the burgers were bland and the fries were inedible. The fries were soaked in gravy that was thick and congealed and tasted like straight salt. We wondered if they ran out and used what was in the bottom of the pot because it was truly disgusting. While we like the lively atmosphere, they also began turning the music up so much that we weren't able to hear each other for the remainder of the meal. People are here for good food, a fun environment, and connection - if tables are conversing, read the room and maybe don't crank the music up to max. I don't anticipate returning to Two Robbers any time soon and I hope that whatever has contributed to their decline is resolved in the future.

Yelp
TLDR: good food, over priced, VERY limited selection. Food: overall, the food was good they just didn't offer much variety, and I felt it was all over priced for the portion size and ingredients. they had two burger options (although one was unavailable) and four other dishes available + fries. The burger and fries were good, but it wasn't wild or special. The eggplant was a really unique dish and tasted good, but I wouldn't get it again. I just felt a bit let down. Alcohol: I get that it is a seltzer company, but that was really the only thing available. Every single cocktail has a seltzer in it. They offered two beers and two wines, but I didn't try them. If you don't like seltzer, I would absolutely not recommend. Service: the food came out quick, but the wait staff seemed over burdened when I was there. Ambiance: the design and style was really cool, as is their entire brand. But i just didn't really enjoy this spot for dinner. It was DARK. Like had to use a flashlight on the menu dark (I'm 28...). They also have mostly community tables, which I don't mind but beware if you're looking for a private spot. My issue was how loud the place was. I could barely hear and when I left my ears were ringing. Overall, I don't think I'll be back. It was overpriced and the value just didn't meet the expectation. I'd only recommend to an avid seltzer drinker looking for a spot to drink.

Yelp
Fascinating menu, story and overall vibe! Felt modern and nostalgic all at the same time. Went for a 2:00 lunch on a Sunday with two friends. No tables were available -- hostess mentioned a 30+ minute wait on a waitlist. Instead we found some seating at the bar top facing the windows (that was open seating (? I think)). Felt full but not overstuffed -- ordered the smashburger, fries and seltzer combo for $22. Smash burger tastes like a fresh, gourmet and upgraded McDonald's single or double cheeseburger (mean this in the most complimentary way!). Fries were honestly some of the BEST I've had.. crispy but soft on the inside. I tried the black cherry lemon seltzer -- (imo -- their seltzers aren't super carbonated -- and definitely not sweet -- but they are refreshing, local and well made!). Thought that I would get it on draft because there was a draft icon next to it, but instead came in a can. Pretty limited menu -- interesting mix of burger joint and chef's creations. Would love to try the poutine next time and maybe the Lucy burger! Cool place for a first date, quick lunch, day drinking, hangover cure or chill late night hang out.

Rob Y.

Yelp
Went into it hoping for a 10/10 having always loved the seltzers. The place was lackluster at best and didn't have a single seltzer on tap. Did not try the food but members of our party who got mixed drinks were not impressed.

Lance T.

Yelp
Nice large patio for outdoor dining/drinking. Bar also serves spirits and items other than beer. Waitstaff has been very attentive.

Amy S.

Yelp
Such a chill and fun ambiance! I wasn't really a smash burger person until I tried theirs and now I'm hooked! Definitely give their Kerala fish sandwich a try if you like to heat things up
google avatar

Dima K.

Yelp
The most positive thing I can say is that the smash burger was not bad. Otherwise? They managed to ruin pretty much everything we ordered. Salmon crudo was terrible. Not fresh 'crudo' that aplifies salmon flavor but a patty-shaped mess of waaaaaay too much dill topped with potato chips. Also served at room temperature which was odd. The foie gras toast had so much jam on it that you couldn't actually taste the foie gras. To top it off, the place has no soft surfaces so it is crazy loud. The food is bad and it's expensive. Avoid.
google avatar

Shelbi B.

Yelp
Dropped by for happy hour on a weekday, was pretty empty for a nice Thursday evening at 5:30pm. Started to get busier as we finished up. Love the outdoor seating area which is dog friendly. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Their happy hour deals were 1/2 off beer and seltzer, and then $10 for burgers and cocktails. We each got a smash burger and split some fries, the food came out super quickly and was delish. It was my first smash burger experience and it was bangin. Fries were top notch and I'm very picky with fries. My creamsicle cocktail was made with one of the seltzers and was a fun, summery drink.
google avatar

Syliva L.

Yelp
Overpriced, At $20 the burgers and fries are the most expensive I have ever eaten. It's a satisfying burger but nothing special. Also they sell their own seltzer for $7 while you can find it in other bars in the city for $5 or $6. It really makes no sense at all. It was fun to visit and I always welcome new places opening in my neighborhood, but the prices will need to come down to reality if I am to add this to my rotation
google avatar

Karlee B.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Thursday night. Food was good, burger was actually quite tasty. They were able to make a mock tail off their regular cocktail menu for one in our party and gave great recommendations. Would definitely stop in again.
google avatar

Kamala R.

Yelp
The Michelada and the pineapple ginger buck were both phenomenal!! Along with the Papad and the avocado with wasabi --wow-- you can't beat that. After that a poutine and a juicy burger followed by their happy coffee as a desert!! Had the whole family (all adults) with me. We are definitely coming back soon!!

Devon D.

Yelp
The drinks were great! The energy was amazing. The bartenders rocked it. Definitely coming back!

Karen U.

Yelp
Great vibe. Food was good . The espresso martini was divine. The fish sandwich was yummy and so were the nuts. Love the decor. And staff was so attentive

Chris A.

Yelp
vibrant bar with great food and drinks, cool atmosphere and a nice spot to hangout with friends
google avatar

Stevie B.

Yelp
Love the space and they had The Craft playing on Halloween. I love a good smashburger and theirs was perfection. The right amount of crisp and tender. They give a TON of fries and I love potatoes to the point of self-harm. So, be mindful or you will end up in agony. Happy agony, but I'm grateful I was going to be standing for a while afterward.
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
best smash burger in Philly nothing else to add other than it's the best, the combo of fries + the burger sauce is *chef's kiss*
