Two Wheels Vietnamese

Yummy! The Vietnamese crepe was delicious. I chose tofu. It comes with two. The middle part is only the vegetable toppings and the tofu. It ended up being the perfect amount of food for me. I loved that the crepe was on the crispy side. It felt almost like a hard shell taco. So fun to eat. And the tofu was slightly fried and tasty. This is a good spot for something casual and relatively inexpensive.

Visited this place after going to AMNH. We got the shrimp summer rolls, spring rolls, & a Thai iced tea. The banh mi looked really good tho. Price point & value was fair considering the area. Recommend if you’re nearby.

Such a nice spot to grab some pho or banh mi! They had a special dragonfruit banh mi for valentine’s day, and they were very kind for making an order for us after they had sold out :)) Great service, yummy food, and would highly recommend stopping by.

This is a cute little spot. When we went it wasn't busy at all. The food came out fairly quickly. The summer rolls were super fresh and yummy. I got the pork and rice bowl and my boyfriend got pho. Both were pretty yummy. Not the best viet food I've had, but not bad. I'd go again.

Good value for what it is, great for a quick stop if you’re in the area! Definitely won’t break the bank— $14.95 for a bowl of pho and $12.95 for a báhn mì. Pho meat portions were a little lacking but the chicken vermicelli was well worth the $14.75. 6 two person tables so limited seating but very cute atmosphere.

Sorry but the food wasn't great here. The bread on the Banh Mi was so hard that it hurt to eat it. The Papaya salad was tiny for the price and was covered in dried fish flakes. Not how I usually have it. Also, they don't recycle! Aluminum cans, plastic glasses, and cardboard serving containers all thrown in the same wastebasket. Please start recycling! ♻!

Definitely the best summer rolls I've had in a while! Made fresh to your order ( unlike some other pho places prerolled) so fresh and the shrimp has so much flavour! Definitely a must Pho was good as well, more of a clean broth and as oily as some other spots but still has good flavour. We enjoyed it

This is a great place to lunch if you’re doing a day at the Natural History Museum. I’d give this a 4.5 if Google would allow. The pho was tasty but greasy and the amount of noodles and beef was lacking. The chicken vermicelli was delicious (a little spicy if you’re sharing with your kid like we were).

It was cold out so I thought I would go get a bowl of Pho but then I saw someone eating the bahn mi. Change of plans and I went for it. I got it with pork. This was a top 10 sandwich. I love a good bahn mi and the bread if normally the difference here the pork was. It complimented the veggies perfectly. The sandwich was so good I didn't finish it. I needed to save some for my wife to try. It was painful not to finish it but it was the correct choice. We will be back soon for more.

The worst Vietnamese food I've ever had in my life! The banh mi looked like a hero from the corner deli. And tasted worse. The "truffle" fries came with ketchup and Italian dressing, and no truffle taste. It was dusted with cheese, which I guess substituted for the truffle oil. It was worse than fries from any burger joint in town.. They include a delivery fee of $3, which they said was for the delivery person. I hope he got it. I gave him an additional $3.

Best Pho on the upper west side!! We also had the spring rolls which were fantastic. Must try!

Being the first person in before the rush was not a bad first impression. For the price of everything it was totally worth every penny but there are definitely cheaper spots in NYC. This spot just so happens to be across the street from my job! Loved all of my meal and plan to be back again!!

It's a good spot but I noticed for take out they stopped filling up the containers close to max . They literally take out about an 8th of a container . I would also add more seafood options but that might not be traditional so I'm not sure . Other than that it's solid especially if you want something light but very filling and satisfying. Service is good they don't annoy you . Nice small seating area too

This is a great place if you're looking for a quick bite, just alone, and don't need too much service. (+) Orders can be placed at the kiosk (contact free) or at the cashier (+) The food is reasonably priced, decent, and made fairly quickly (-) No bathroom. I had a little one who needed to go, they recommended the public library just a block away (-) They didn't use authentic Sriracha (-) I don't recommend their Vietnamese coffee. I suspected it's instant/powder as there were flakes in the cup.

One of our favorites. Polite, yummy, kind. Pho. Solid nom nom. Truffles fries with vegan or regular Parmesan. Spring rolls. Love them.

What a surprise. We checked into our hotel and headed out to grab a drink, only to realize that we were super hungry. Passed by this place and couldn't resist - - it's a small order-at-the-counter type of place, with a few tables for dining in. It doesn't have a huge menu but what we had was absolutely delicious. Their Vietnamese Crepe - - I added yummy shrimp - - is served like tacos, very different from what I've seen before but so so tasty. It was just the right amount of crispy and the sauce was sweet and spicy.

This is not what pho should taste like :( or spring rolls.... :'( Where can I find Vietnamese flavor in NYC?

I order here frequently because we live around the corner. I've noticed discrepancies between their online prices and the prices actually charged. The banh mis are 12.95 on their online menu but when we get the bill after ordering for pick up it's actually 13.95. If it was delivery I could understand that, I decided against delivery for this very reason, but if the price is the same and that would be helpful to know. Nitpicking here, but when I brought this to the staff, they didn't apologize or offer to comp the difference (albeit one dollar), they just blamed the owner and said nothing. Really frustrating experience and will make me think twice about going back, even if convenient. Lot's of other Vietnamese places around here that are just as good and that I will consider next time.

Quick service and friendly staff. Small space, on the same size as the nearby restaurants. My pho was yummy and hit the spot. If you eat in, take note at least in the evening, lots of delivery guys in and out, so pretty popular with the neighborhood at least in that respect.

Amazing food with vegetarian and gluten free options. Good prices. Nice selection of fun drinks too. I wasn't a fan of the layout but it's still a quick fun place to eat lunch.

Quick little shop for Vietnamese food. Ordered at the kiosk, and they didn't end up having the drink I ordered and paid for, so they refunded me the price of the drink. Not to be rude, but I am unhappy that I had to tip on the drink that I didn't even receive and we didn't even get waited on. I think the kiosk added the tip automatically and I didn't realize until I had already paid. As for food, I orrdered the Bun Bo Hue, and after adding in some sriracha, it tasted almost like it should. There isn't much seating but they do have nifty little tables that can adjust to the party size.

Used to be a big fan. Not sure what is happening here. Picked ip Chicken Bahn Mi. Chicken was cold and dried out. Quality has definitely gone down. Place was crowded so you would think they made it fresh. Sad.

I had high hopes when I chose to lunch at Two Wheels on A'Dam. It all sorta spiraled from there... I ordered the crispy spring rolls "with lettuce" as i love the traditional manner of wrapping the rolls in lettuce. I was given option or chicken or vegetable rolls. I chose veggie option. I also got the traditional Bahn Mi and asked for water. I paid but didn't leave a prepaid tip just then. I wonder in hindsight if this irked the person behind the register. In "self-serve" places I sometimes leave tips either to the end or keep them on the smaller side as the service is almost non-existent (I was a waiter for almost 20 years so give me some slack here...) Ok so the spring rolls started the spiral effect. No lettuce (and a bit too greasy). I brought them up to register and the person said they don't do that anymore, despite the mention in menu. I said I only got them because of how they were described on menu. She offered a refund which i declined. I should have accepted offer as at first bit they were awful. A paste of bland mush that seemed to strike me of chicken. I got back up and apologized for my repeated inquiries but was this chicken? I ordered vegetable. She gave me some lack luster explanation of puréed veggies and tofu. Weird and I've never encountered that so i retreated with the rolls due to my hunger. The Bahn Mi. Tasty and fine but weirdly long and not cut in two. Before i get grief about "mommy cutting your food" jokes-- this object was objectively long, like 17-18" and would have been appreciated cut in twain. I did not complain about this.....BUT The spiral continues. The water glass was like 1/2 full. Again i wondered in a semi-paranoid way if she was miffed at not being tipped. I dont like making up stories. I dont like being distracted by petty stuff while dining. It's all on me. But the number of strikes against this experience was mounting. I finished my water in .005 of a second and went BACK up to the counter for more (I believe it was at this point I contemplated something i NEVER do which is not to tip at all..) I asked EXTRA politely for more water and she filled up a glass brimming with luke warm and cloudy water from nearby sink, not even bothering with any ice. I was so put-off by it all- the sense of attitude, the cloudy water, the food, that i contemplated tossing the water out on the sidewalk. but I simply turned and returned it silently and took an empty glass from their counter rack. I filled it with my own water from my water bottle. This self-service restaurant experience was earning its name and then some. I ate and left. I'm still pondering what to leave as a tip.

Ordered a steak bahnmi and spring rolls and it took over 20 minutes. Cashier had some attitude and the meat was gross and overcooked. I don't recommend and won't be returning to this place.

Had a really nice quick meal here. Where else in the city can you feed two people for $30 and it not be a fast food chain? We had the combination pho which had beef, meatballs, and brisket. It was really flavorful and a good portion. We also had the pork banh mi which was also good, but I don't know if it was assembled well because it wasn't as, I guess the word is savory, as other banh mi sandwiches I've had. It was good but it was layered weird without an even distribution of ingredients. Yes I would order it again though!

That's just ok. Young ladies at the cashier are not pleasant, not smiley, and they look really impatient when you ask questions about the dishes. Crepes are good but very oily. However spring roll (cold one) is a big one - but they put too many noodles in it, it's too stodgy. They don't serve water - never sat that in NYC Also the tables are sticky with strains. They do not clean them between clients. That's a shame bc Vietnamese food is one of the best in the world

Amazing shrimp summer rolls for a great price! Service was typical for a fast food spot, quick to make my order. Very causal vibe for dine in. Would recommend!

We ordered 3 vermicelli/rice bowls here. The lettuce include in every bowl was incredibly wilted and made the meals taste awful (as seen in photo.) The drinks were enjoyable. No complaints there. The staff is not very kind.

I'd give this 4 for if you're on the run and want a hot soup and 2-3 if you're looking for an authentic pho experience. My 16 year old nephew and I had a very decent meal on a very cold day and enjoyed the simple atmosphere. The flavors weren't really out of this world. Generous portions. Friendly service. I had the brisket and he had the chicken. He liked the broth and said the noodles were cooked well.

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, then this is the place to steer away from. Was hoping for a better experience when walking into this restaurant and not only was I disappointed of the food, but the service was poor. Service (1 out of 5) - it was 10pm and they told us we had to finish our food by 10:30pm despite door closing at 11PM. Two Wheels Pho (1 out of 5) - The broth was extremely bland and banh pho was undercooked. Completely lacked any depth and seasoning. Somehow this place managed to undercook the noodles which is difficult to achieve if your water is hot enough to properly cook it. Literally takes a few seconds in boiling water to cook the noodles. Would suggest they actually go try a place that serves authentic pho to get an idea of what it should taste like. They also provided me with a plastic spoon that you'd get for a delivery so even getting any broth or noodles into it was nearly impossible. Chicken spring rolls (2.5 out of 5) - Was decent, but nothing traditional about these either. meat was a bit ground up too much for my taste, but it was edible. Again, not a place I would recommend at all if you're looking for a full on authentic Vietnamese meal. There are other Vietnamese restaurants in UWS that exceed Two Wheels. If not UWS, I would say make the trek down into Chinatown.

To preface, Two Wheels is an adaptation of American tastes to the Vietnamese Banh Mi so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're really looking for the authentic Banh Mi experience. However, as just a sandwich place, this place surprised me more than I thought it would. I ordered: * Crispy Chicken Spring Rolls - 7/10: can't really mess up generic spring rolls, but I felt like these were probably a little over-priced for the amount you get * Ham and Chicken Pate Banh Mi - 9/10: the pate was creamy and delicious with the bread being a lot more dense than classic banh mi bread, but making this sandwich quite filling If you're looking for a quick lunch and craving something Vietnamese-like, I would definitely recommend this place. It's a small little joint that looks really popular with a bunch of take-out folks.

Great bread and veggies on the bahn mi. I do not think the upgrade to the steak was worth it though. Decent steak but slightly chewy. I might come back, but there are too many other options so we will see. Service of the sandwich was quick enough.

Banh xeo, which is why I came here, was pretty worthless. Pho, which is not, was good. It is my opinion that if a Vietnamese dish is supposed to have fish sauce, and a restaurant doesn't have good fish sauce, then the dish is pretty much unsalvageable, and that was the case here. Two Wheels' fish sauce tastes like a piña colada. All fruit, no fish. I actually asked at the counter if they gave me the right sauce, since they do also have a pineapple sauce, but they confirmed they did. I said, 'it doesn't taste like fish'. She said, 'that's how we make it'. I'll let THAT one sink in. Anyway, without the fish sauce, the banh xeo didn't taste like much. It was nicely crispy, but all they did to the tofu was fry it, so the double-crispy texture was cool, at the same time as having absolutely no flavor. Having two smaller banh xeo as opposed to one big one (as is tradition) is a good idea in theory, but I'd use that opportunity to be able to stuff the crepes more efficiently, and they didn't. Everything was still falling out. Which is okay if the flavor is good, but... My partner got meatball pho, which, I won't pretend that these meatballs were any way 'authentic', but they tasted heavily of lemongrass and I loved them. I'm not a steak person, so the opportunity to have something else in my pho was a plus. I also liked their broth - good depth of flavor and not too star-anise-y. Noodles were a little floury, which is weird for rice noodles.

Consistently good food, safe packaging, nice staff, and quick service! The pho itself is amazing, but the bag of toppings is often too wet which wilts the herbs and doesn't have nearly enough onion, if any. It sometimes feels like the bags have been prepped days in advance and their freshness is not a priority.

Fabulous food. It's a small restaurant that is easy to miss when walking by, but we were hungry so we stopped in. We ordered the Pho Tai and the pork summer rolls. Both were absolutely incredible, and the service was great. They brought us extra utensils and sauce several times. Would absolutely return!

Solid little Vietnamese spot on the Upper West Side. I ordered the Vermicelli Bowl with Pork ($14.49), which was high quality with flavorful pork and fresh veggies. The noodles were classic vermicelli noodles. The portion size was decent for the price. I also got the Lychee Strawberry Fruit Smoothie ($5.95), which was delicious and actually tasted more like a milkshake than a normal fruit smoothie in terms of flavor and creamy/icy consistency. The place itself is kind of small with around 5-6 small tables inside and a clean interior. You order up front and they bring the food to you. The staff are friendly and the service speed is quick. There was only one other person in line ahead of us and we were able to get a table on a Saturday night despite the small size of the restaurant. Overall, Two Wheels earns a solid 4 stars from me. It's not super authentic, but definitely has sit-down restaurant quality food with fast casual speed. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the mood for Vietnamese food in the area.

As usual, want this business to succeed, but the verdict, back or never again. Easy answer: Never again. Wanted to call it Two Stars. Bland pho, meat cut poorly, over priced. Pho has no flavor, meat is to be cut AGAINST the grain not with the grain, brisket is dreadful as it's like old leathered shredded beef.

One of the best pho places in the UWS. The broth tastes clean and you can get extra noodles/broth for a good price.

Chargrilled pork bahn mi was just ok. The bread was good and the meat was plentiful. However, the marinade on the pork was a bit sour (too much lemongrass?) and was missing that tad bit of sugar that would have caramelized the pork which would have made a great sandwich.

3.5 / 5.0 - The pho was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Two Wheels Pho - 1 meat ($13.49+), which comes with a choice of meat: steak, brisket, meatball and sirloin. The soup was very hot, which I loved, and it had a nice flavor, although a bit mild. The brisket wasn't amazing and there wasn't a lot of it in the soup. The worst part was the noodles--this was the smallest portion of noodles I've ever had. Even though I love food, I am not a big eater. But there was so little that I was still hungry after I finished. It was also very thin, although I did like the firmness. For the price, I'd expected more meat and definitely more noodles.

The pho was very bland and had no flavor. The meatballs were not good as well. On top of that there's no bathroom, they'll tell you to use the bathroom at the bar next door but you have to be 21+. Not a huge fan of these new modern self order restaurants with kiosks. Server was friendly and nice tho.

Not sure what I was expecting on the upper west side, but probably more than what I got. I ordered papaya salad, which was palm-sized. It was an amount that easily could be held in the palm of my hand. It was fine but a little hot for me. Only one level of spice I guess since the cashier didn't ask? The salad was fine but the aggravation of the cashier/server seemed to make it inconvenient for me to order and eat there even though not all tables were taken.

Two meals at Two Wheels and I can safely declare that they're already in my favorite restaurants list this year! I looooooooove the Deluxe Pho. The broth is amazing. The combination of brisket, steak, sirloin and meatballs are all delectable. And it all works out so wonderfully. And I'm not even a Pho person. The first time I tried it, I was already mentally calculating when can I come back to pick up another meal. It's that good. No kidding. Yesterday I was craving for it so bad that we finally just decided to order via Uber Eats. I just decided to add some extra noodles because their noodles aren't very generous (perhaps they can note this :) and do something about this) and extra broth. This time I had to finally try one of their banh mi so ordered the char grilled pork and it was chef's kiss delicious! The pork was grilled perfectly, seasoned well (reminds me of a grilled pork Filipino dish balancíng the saltiness and sweetness!) and the baguette was the star of the show. Honestly I feel they should start selling the baguettes. I'm definitely buying! :) I'm still looking forward to trying the Thai Iced Tea, Vietnamese Coffee, and all the other banh mi variants but for now I'm a very satisfied customer who plans to at least order once a week! Keep it up, Two Wheels! P.S. Also you owe me the loyalty stamp card. So let's sort that out shortly. ;)

Never had an issue here. Been coming here as a regular for dinner, normally just a table for one. One of my favorite spots for a quick meal, in and out.

It's sooo good. The broth is really savory & tasty & very flavorful. The Vietnamese wings were also really really good! I recommend this place to everyone who like pho I loved it!!

5 star pho - best I've had in NYC but really the only comparison is Just Pho near Penn 1 star bahn xeo - made tacos style but i dont think the crispy crepe/taco shell is made fresh...at least it doesnt taste fresh at all! stale Great smoothies with jackfruit

Their banh mi has more meat now! Yay! Chargrilled pork is fantastic. The crepe is a little oily for my taste but that's all right.

Really enjoyed the pho from here... I asked for it to be extra spicy and they didn't disappoint... it that's that type of spicy pho you have to respect, you can't eat it too fast. The broth was well seasoned, the meat had a nice texture, wasn't over cooked or anything, and the toppings were fresh. This place is my new goto place for pho when I'm in the city.

I ran into this place looking for a gluten free option to eat. I was VERY happy to find this place because I LOVE VIETNAMESE food. I'm a huge fan of their seasonings and cooking style, so I thought it would be good to give this place a try. I got the crepe, which is made with rice flour (GF) and filled with lemon grass chicken, bean sprouts, lettuce, herbs, and a vinaigrette. The chicken was so flavorful, and the portion was GOOD. I wish I ordered more when I went. Next time I would try the iced coffee and the pho. Or even the rice bowl. They had a good amount of options (even though it is a small menu), I found it to be varied and enjoyable to choose from. They were also very nice and answered all my dietary questions with patience. I was confirming that what I was eating was GF, and they were very supportive to my concerns :)

Pretty good pho! We visited on a rainy and cold Sunday so this was the awesome!! I wasn't sure if they use MSG or not but it a little bit seemed like it. The pho it self was pretty peppery but over all pretty good and they used actual grilled chicken in it! Also the fries looked amazing!

I actually really like their pho and Viet crepe, have been ordering from here several times during the pandemic. Today I got the banh mi steak and the meat was basically not edible. It was full of fat and the end bits of chewy gristle and connective tissue that can't be swallowed. One or two pieces of fat is fine but it was all too chewy and inedible so I had to spit it back out. They charge an extra dollar for the steak but I would rather pay a few dollars more to get better quality than to get what I got. I know costs have gone up, which is understandable but would rather pay more to get quality ingredients than get whatever left over steak end scraps that isn't edible. I would give the pho and crepe a 5/5 and the steak sandwich a 0-1/5 so average score comes out to a 3. I recommend the crepe and pho and would come back for those but not the steak sandwich.

got their pho, and it was super yummy! broth so good, especially good on a chilly day. wish there was more sauces given tho. ambiance is also super nice!

Man I wanted to love this place. I really did. There's nothing that warms me up more than a good bowl of Pho. The UWS is severely lacking good Vietnamese and was ecstatic when I heard a Vietnamese place was opening around the corner from my apartment. I walked by this place on my way home from work and figured I'd swing in and give it a shot. Service was friendly and the place was cute. Definitely a slurp and go sort of place. I got the basic beef pho and a Thai iced tea. The amount of beef was on the smaller side. Two of the pieces I had to spit out bc they were filled with fat and I couldn't chew them. The broth was too oily in my opinion and was bland. I spiced it up with some sriracha but it still didn't do the trick. Something seemed off; It lacked that savory depth I was on the hunt for. In the hundreds of bowls of Pho I've put in my belly, I have never in my life run out of noodles. It's actually quite the opposite; I usually run out of broth and have heaps of noodles left since I don't really eat too many. Here, I ran out of noodles. I was so perplexed b/c this has never happened to me with Pho. First world problems, I know. The guy sitting next to me was chomping on a delicious looking bahn mi, which I will definitely be trying in the future. I'll probably give the Pho another go, b/c everyone deserves a second chance.
