I hate that I have to make this review, but I'm really disappointed in Dr. Jones. I'm obviously not privy to whatever drama led to her leaving Lakeview Smiles and taking the ortho staff with her, but I'm a good example of patients suffering from the fallout. After having four appointments cancelled with Dr. Jones and subsequently spending an additional 12 weeks in lingual braces, you can imagine my horror when I come in for my long-awaited appointment and am told that my orthodontist has quit with no notice to start her own practice and has taken my custom InBrace wires with her. There was no warning given before arriving and no contact information provided to find her. I could write off this kind of departure as unprofessional, but taking my custom wires, especially when she knew that InBrace has gone out of business and I won't be able to get more, is just petty. After tracking down Dr. Jones at her new office, I asked that my wires be returned to me, given that I'd already paid in full and they are my property. Her office claimed not to have them, and I unfortunately had to have my braces removed. To pay $6,000 and suffer over a year in lingual braces to not get the outcome I paid for was heartbreaking. When I requested that I be paid the balance of the remaining months of treatment I was unable to receive, her office stopped replying.
I'm not looking forward to reporting Dr. Jones, but I can't excuse what was ultimately theft of something I paid for. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and offered a chance to make it right, and she didn't take it. Although Dr. Jones was kind during the few appointments I was able to have, I cannot in good conscience recommend her as a professional. For all her emphasis on patient care she managed to make what was already a nightmare with InBrace somehow worse, and that behavior is unacceptable.
