From the very moment we walked into the restaurant, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. A special thanks goes to our waiter, Jakub, who impressed us with his professionalism, dedication, and genuine kindness – he truly made our visit unforgettable. As for the food – it was simply heavenly! Every dish delighted us with its flavor, freshness, and beautiful presentation. It is clear that the chef puts a lot of heart and passion into every creation. Congratulations to the entire kitchen team – you are doing an amazing job! 👏👏👏 We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates excellent cuisine and a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back

Everything was great. The first time we went around 22:00 and there were not a lot of people, the waitress was super kind, she explained to us everything that we asked for. We went there two times. Around 20:30 it was a bit more crowded but still the service was really good, the food was super delicious. We were 10 people so we asked to join tables, it was not a problem. The staff was really helpful. Highly recommend. Just be prepared that at the end you will be asked/charged 10 % service fee. The prices are pretty reasonable

We had a truly memorable evening at U Kroka. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious — traditional Czech dishes full of flavor and beautifully presented. Every course was a highlight! But what truly elevated the experience was our server Teresa. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. She guided us through the menu with care and even recommended the perfect beer to pair with our meals. Her kindness and professionalism made us feel not just like guests, but like friends. Garlic soup, main dishes and the amazing desert, all five stars!!! The ambiance was cozy and authentic — a mix of rustic charm and welcoming energy. We will absolutely return, and we’ll be recommending U Kroka to all our friends visiting Prague. Thank you, Teresa, for such a wonderful evening!

We tried this place for lunch and was expecting for some traditional types of dishes. We tried garlic soup (it’s made with bacon or lardon and some croutons - it wasn’t a strong of garlic flavour), local ham, goulash and some fried chickens. The goulash was thick and tasty. Chicken was cooked well. Overall it’s a good eatery with good food, pleasant service and fine atmosphere.

We dined here on a weeknight, and the place was packed at 20:30. Gladly we had a reservation for 21:00, and they were able to get us seated early. The food was phenomenal. Both garlic soup and kulajda were outstanding. Traditional Czech dishes Svíčková and beef goulash were delicious, filling and aesthetically presented. Service was quick as well. Do yourself a favor and have dinner here.

Restaurant was almost full when we came in on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe that’s the reason our food came out way longer (about 45mins at least) than expected. We were given complimentary bread with flavored butter. We ordered the following: - Pulled pork neck, with fried onions - Garlic Soup - Svíčková - Roasted beef with Creamy sauce - Pork cheeks (very tender) in red wine, roasted carrots and some vegetables, caramelized onions with yummy mashed potatoes All the food that we ate were tasty/flavorful and the meat were very tender. Service was slow although the Staff/Servers were nice and courteous.

We went here during lunch time (12 pm) and thought that it was quite for a lunch time. But after 15 minutes, the restaurant is suddenly full! So I bet that on a dinner, you will have to wait. We opt for traditional Czech food. It was our first Czech food so it left a very big impression. Our waiter is also attentive, however as the restaurant becomes busy, you might have to wait if you have some requests. Overall a good experience! Highly recommended.

Google
This place has the best food. I had the pork cheek with red wine sauce. It is the best dish I have ever had in Prague/my Europe trip. The pork cheek is very tender and the red wine sauce is a bit sour which makes the whole dish so balanced. The mashed potatoes are wonderful!!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience here and food was amazing! Calling ahead for reservation is highly suggested but not necessary. Service was great, and staff were friendly and attentive. A win-win for me!

Yelp
I've tried 6 different Czech restaurants (most of which I didn't like) and U Kroka tops all of them by a landslide. It was also the only restaurant that didn't seem like a tourist trap and was enjoyed by locals on a tight lunch schedule. It's also located farther away from the tourist stuff. Every place will serve pork knee but their "beer knee" is really the softest and has a nice smokey crunch to it. Their potatoes actually have flavor. The Prague ham is my personal favorite. Like, it comes with foam?? (Horseradish) What an interesting combo! I came here to leave a 5-star for food but then upon research realized that their mandatory 10% service charge was a new add. I thought it was a credit card charge, but it is actually for cash too and they DON'T add it to your receipt when you ask for the check. The cashier didn't even bother to give me the 24CZK change. I was willing to overlook this but knowing that others had a similar experience, I feel that's a point off service.

Yelp
I'm glad I came here for my czech meal, but I don't think it's for me. The chicken was dry, a lot of the dishes were too salty. Random ingredients like the mushrooms were done really well though.

Yelp
Stuffed, literally and figuratively, like a pig afterwards. Proteins and potatoes, in various forms, cooked to rustic perfection. Service was attentive and the restaurant interior was a homey, upscale café like decor. My only gripe is that they asked if I wanted fries, as if it was included, and then charged me for them... Sausages were sausages, I wish they gave more and the bread was an insult. The knee on beer was my favorite, a perfectly cooked pork hock soaked in a thick, caramelized, soy sauce-like beer sauce. The potato dumplings were also the best: soft and chewy, like gnocchi, but also full of milky flavor and crisped on all sides from sautéing in butter. The ribs were super super tender, for the most part, and the edges were crisped with vaguely spicy chili oil. The pickled vegetables were the unsung hero, cutting through the heaviness of the ribs. Overall, well executed but nothing amazing. At first, the dark ale was my favorite because it was so sweet and caramely, but at the end of the meal, I found myself reaching for the pilsner because the hops cut through the richness of the meat.

Yelp
Nice local restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere . Food and service were both really good.

Yelp
I don't have a ton of experience with Czech food, but wow wee was this a fantastic start! I actually think they ruined the rest of my meals the day I ate lunch here because of how delicious they were. There is a dinner menu and a lunch menu with both featuring vegetarian options. The pumpkin pasta was one such wonderful vegetarian option. If you want meat, the pork cheeks with dumplings were as good as anything I've eaten in Europe. Seriously, this was one of the best meals I've had in months of being in Europe. For the price, it's unbelievable. The inside is simple, clean, and spacious. Staff is nice and speaks English.

Yelp
Amazing. Service was great, we were seated right away with no reservation, the food came out fast, and it was the best beef goulash and schnitzel I've had! The potato salad rivaled my mom's, too, but don't tell her! Sat outside and LOVED that it's non-smoking. Hello! The sweet dumplings with apricots were a first for me and they were perfection.

Yelp
Wanting traditional Czech food, we stopped into U Kroka without a reservation around 18.00 on a Tuesday in July. Sitting down right away, we ordered a glass of white local wine, croquets, and the veal. The food came out within 15 minutes and tasted really good. Great combination of flavors and presented well. Service was great and the prices reasonable.

Yelp
Loved! A-mazing! Group of 6 (couples) from U.S. dined here during our vacation. We all agreed this was our favorite dining spot from our whole trip (we covered Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Munich). The food and service was great and we had a wonderful bottle of wine (or 2) ; ) Definitely recommend travelers or locals to check this place out. I liked that it felt like we were dining with locals, rather than in a tourist trap.

Yelp
What a surprise! Incredible food, beautiful presentation, excellent service. Specials were superb... I had the rabbit & my wife had the deer. Desserts were just as good as the entrees. Wow. James Beard or Michelin quality? Really close! Very reasonable prices. Value is as good as you'll find anywhere (in the world)!

Sebastian C.

Yelp
Excelent service and amazing food. I had the beef goulash as the main dish, it was wonderful! Will definitely come again when in Prague.

Yelp
This place was soooo good. You might need a reservation but very friendly staff and the food was absolutely amazing. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Well, last meal in Prague and we weren't disappointed. We shared a beet tartar that was really good. Diced beets with pickled celery, mustard greens, and onions. Then I had a pork tenderloin that was really soft and delicious. The pork knuckle would have been the most traditional czech dish to get, but that was 3lbs of pork that I would never have finished. I was happy with the tenderloin, and was wondering why I don't get that more often. My wife had a dish that she really enjoyed. It was potatoes with a dill cream sauce, mushrooms, and small poached eggs. I'm not a fan of dill, but my wife really liked it. To wash it down, I had a Gambrinus Pilsner and my wife had a cider. Service was friendly and quick, even though the place was bustling. We had a patio seat too, which was nice because of the weather.

Yelp
We came here after a long day of exploring Prague and based off great reviews on trip advisor. We walked in and fortunately the staff was so accommodating they made room for our group of three even though they were completely booked. I was so greatfull that they were able to accommodate us as I was hangry and wanted a nice yummy meal. Let me just say the service, the food, the drinks, and ambiance were amazing!!!! We are visting from the USA and we fell in loveee with this place. I started off with the beef tartare and it was just amazing, I practically licked the plate clean. My friend started off with the classic Schnitzel which is a must if visiting Prague. I ordered the shredded duck leg, which comes on a savory pancake, red cabbage, and fried onion. Hands down the best thing on the menu! You MUST try it! My other friend ordered the goulash and that was just melt in your mouth good! For dessert I had the special for Easter weekend which was mascarpone, mango, and eating moss. Prob the best dessert on the menu! My companions had a deconstructed apple struddle and I can't remember what the last one with popcorn was but very delicious as well. 10/10 would recommend coming if you are a local and even on vacation. This place is a MUST!!! will deff come back when in Prague. Never left a restaurant so happy!

Yelp
What an amazing place. We tried multiple places throughout Prague and this was the best by a long shot-if you want a easy sit down dinner/lunch experience. The duck was marvelous, the schnitzel perfect, the beer cold and the lines clean. I would come back over and over just to try new things on their menu and drink beer! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Sometimes it's not about doing your research but about discovering a great spot by simply walking by a place/ smelling the food from the street. From the moment you walk in, you'll know what I mean. My goulash was so flavorful, my mouth was excited with every bite! This dish was complex yet wonderfully simple. I was tempted to lick the dish when done. SUPERB local food and excellent service. To top it off, the atmosphere was lively but not loud, and the music set a good mood. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in Prague.

Yelp
U kroka is an interesting situation. Some of the food was absolutely incredible (svicoka beef and goat cheese ravioli) but the goat cheese salad was almost inedible. After really thinking it through, I do think that this restaurant deserves four stars. The highs were so incredible and truly felt like local Czech food, but the lows felt like a poorly constructed and poorly seasoned dish. One thing I will say, the service was not very amenable and not very friendly. The food (other than the salad) is very tasty, but they can be fairly stubborn and stiff with service and with mannerisms!

Yelp
U Kroka was on the list of Recommendations from one of my tour guides & this definitely was a good one. A neighborhood restaurant that is easy to get to via Tram although a bit off the beaten path. I called on Saturday for a table that evening. First available table was at 8:30 so it worked out fine given it gave some time in between a tour and dinner. Reservations are recommended. The restaurant is small & cozy with a small bar in front. I saw the menu & decided to create a 3 course meal & they were very accommodating. They offered a mixed (light & dark) Pilsner (never tried it) so decided to give it a try. Pretty good and still light despite the mix. For the first course, ordered the Duck Rilletes (Foie Gras) Starter. Tasty with the beer bread and the ginger beer foam took it to another level. 2nd course was the Goat Cheese Salad Starter. Wasn't what I was expecting but in a good way-flavors were amazing with the Beetroot, roasted pumpkin & marinated carrots playing nicely together! If this was the only dish I had I would've been happy! Main course was the Duck Leg Confit. Not the best Duck Confit I've ever had but very good. Overall, wonderful spot and hidden gem and definitely worth a visit for Czech cuisine. The servers from beginning to end were amazing and very accommodating! Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent food and atmosphere- some of the best food in Prague and reasonably priced! I would suggest making a reservation. We got the garlic soup as an appetizer and I would highly recommend- it is delicious and probably the best thing we had. It wasn't too garlic tasting and had thick cuts of bacon in it. We also got the rabbit and the pork ribs. Both were delicious but the pork ribs were much better. I would get it again but probably not the rabbit- it was good but I would probably get something different. Definitely come here!!!

Yelp
We found U Kroka on Yelp. I did not have a reservation but they sat us at 5:45 with the understanding that they needed the table at 7pm. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful. We did not order appetizers because we had a late, large lunch. DH had the duck confit. It was very flavorful with crispy skin and sat on top of red cabbage that tasted like sweet sauerkraut with caraway seasoning. Both items were excellent. Potato dumplings were served alongside. Neither of us is a big dumpling fan so I can't really judge them. Too starchy and solid for my taste. He also had a large beer recommended by our waitress. It was on the menu--a blend of three beers and he loved the beer. I had the boneless pork knuckle. It was beautifully roasted and served with wonderful fresh grated horseradish and gnocchi. The gnocchi were quite dense, like a cousin of the dumplings. The pork was really good but has a thick layer of pork skin (fat) that many Americans would not eat. I had a bottle of sparkling water. For dessert we shared apple pie with ice cream and vanilla cream and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waitress was kind enough to split our order into two separate ones so we could use up our Czech kroner and charge the balance. She received a nice tip for her efforts. So if you are in Praha and don't want to go to the tourist restaurants in Stare Mesta, U Kroka is an excellent option. The place was packed when we left.

Yelp
This restaurant was right by our hotel in Prague and I saw it recommended in a few reviews. Very happy we came here. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was good and the beer was great. Everything we had was really tasty but I highly recommend the cheese dumplings in plum sauce for dessert. Definitely make a reservation (you can do it online) as they were steadily busy the whole time we were there.

Yelp
After staying several nights in The city, we were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The service was surprisingly phenomenal and refreshing for European dining. Very reasonably priced, for two appetizers two entrées a dessert and a bottle of wine with tip was less than 60 euros. The food was great quality, nice ambiance and outdoor seating, and away from touristy areas. If we had more time I would have come back! Highly recommend to all do not miss.

Yelp
A taxi driver recommended this place instead of where we had asked him to take us, which was just a couple blocks away, and we weren't disappointed. We started with a duck rillettes spread, of sorts, which was delicious. I ordered the boiled sliced beef in cream sauce with dumplings, and my husband got the goulash. Both were unbelievably flavorful and delicious. Like, stop and savor every bite delicious. At first glance the portions seem a little small compared to other Prague restaurants, but the quality and richness of the food was way above other places, and we were pretty full when we left. Totally recommend.

Yelp
First day in Praque and we found this awesome good restaurant! Super friendly people are working here and the food is really really good. Price is perfect and more on the less expensive side, and the quality is perfect. Good meat. The side dishes are a bit tiny, but the main dishes really makes you happy and full.

Yelp
We were able to get reservations at 5pm. But we had to mark how long we wanted to stay. So we chose 1.5 hours for 2 of us. Disappointing we couldn't get a later time, but this seems to be a popular spot just outside of the city center. Restaurant is quite small and when we walked in at 450pm, we were seated promptly by a host who spoke perfect English. Looks as though there is a bit more than a dozen tables. Menu option in English and many other language. Servers all speak excellent English!! We ordered a large still water and my hubs a large beer. We also ordered a bread basket (45kc) but had to ask for butter as it didn't come with it. Ordered goat cheese filled filo and ordered traditional dill soup as an appetizer. Ordered the rabbit leg and deer leg for our main dishes. Ordered the traditional miss cake for dessert. Everything pictured below. Service was next to impeccable. Perhaps maybe a bit speedy? As soon as we were done, they had plates cleared. Not impatient and moving us quickly, but kept on our 90 minute pace. Delicious and a must go to If you are in Prague. We would DEFINITELY come back here.

Yelp
The best casual authentic local dining experience I've had in years. Loved the beef tartar, goulash, and beer selection. Great prices and family friendly. Perfect neighborhood setting, so what could be better?
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Service is really good here for Czech standards. The food is also really yummy - I had the svickova (beef and bread pudding with cranberry sauce and gravy - think thanksgiving dinner minus the mashed potatoes) and my friend had the beef cheeks. Both were really good. The cheese plate was yummy. I'd come back here and recommend this place to everyone, especially tourists who don't like touristy places but like authentic Czech food.
google avatar

Chenlei S.

Yelp
We were late to lunch service, which closed at 2pm and had to wait until 4pm for dinner menu, which was kind of a bummer. Nonetheless, the food was tasty and worth the wait. The dishes in the picture are beef goulash, pork knee and rabbit legs. All pretty much Czech traditional food. Rabbit leg was boney, which was expected. But there were still a lot of meat. The pork knee was the best deal in my opinion. It has a large chunk of meat and pretty good portion of side as well. I thoroughly enjoyed trying out the food from my friends dish. I got beef goulash. I do regret getting beef goulash but I can tell you that it's 100% better than the ones I got from a restaurant in the more touristy area of Prague, especially the aesthetics. Thumbs up for the good aesthetic and presentation. Food was delicious as well.

Yelp
Myself and 2 friends are traveling Europe. It was our very first day in Prague (and Thanksgiving day back home) so we wanted a great meal! Lemme tell ya, U Kroka delivered on all fronts. Impeccable service, recommendations on some of the tastiest beers I've ever had, and the foooood!.. it couldn't possibly have been any better. Soon after being sat, someone swooped in with a small dish of catfish spread (comparable consistency to tuna fish salad) and some bread as a nice welcome. So damn good. And gobbled up quick. Next we ordered an app that had an assortment of sausages, bread and two types of mustards. Another winner.. 2 for 2. We all 3 ordered the Czech steak tenderloin cooked medium, and it came with potato wedges and a rich sauce over top. The steak was prepared perfectly! Wish I had a photo of it cut open but without thinking I dove right in. Every dish they brought us outdid the last. Finally dessert. We hadn't eaten all day so that explains our ability to go 5 rounds deep into the menu: beer, spread, app, main, dessert! We got the cheese dumplings with like a blueberry puree with cream. Yup, incredible. Cannot miss this place even if you're just passing through. Děkuju for an amazing Thanksgiving meal in Prague!

Yelp
Our first meal in Prague! Reservations were easy to make online. We arrived at 7pm for our reservation and were seated immediately. We ordered a pint of beer. BF wanted a bowl of soup and ordered the pork knee for his entree. I ordered the duck confit. The soup was simple, but good. Especially in the cold weather! The pork knee was HUGE. He's a big eater but he could only finish about half of his entree. My duck was ok, but nothing remarkable. Service was quick and attentive. Prices are affordable.

Yelp
Date night done right in Prague. U Kroka offers great food with a touch of history. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it is frequented by locals and tourists alike. The restaurant is located in the former space of The Krok Inn, which was first established in 1895. It was shut down during the Communist regime and turned into a canteen. The current restaurant opened after a renovation in 2011. The menu is extensive and we went with the classic Czech dishes - confit of duck leg, and the pork knee. The duck leg was excellent and the pork knee was as big as my head!! Our meal was accompanied by a sauvignon blanc from Kravi Hora, which paired well with both dishes. Definitely recommended for a date night in Prague away from all the tourist madness.

Yelp
After walking for five miles exploring the area, this was the perfect spot to enjoy cold beer and snack. I had the garlic soup, best garlic soup I've had in my 2 weeks in the Czech Republic. Our hotel recommended this place and I agree.

Yelp
We walked half an hour to get to this place and it did not disappoint! Loved everything we ordered and finished everything. Veggie appetizer and sides, garlic soup, pork knuckles- crispy skin!!! And duck co fit. Good beer and wine. Oh wow.

Yelp
We went to U Kroka on the recommendation of a friend who had traveled to Prague last year. This was the best meal that we had on our trip! We started with some Kozel Cerny beers (a seriously delicious beer, ya gotta have it), a sausage platter, and some salads (much needed after several days of a meat and carbs diet in Eastern Europe). The sausages were given a mixed reception but they were very juicy and there was a good variety. I liked the salad, it came with a lot of fresh veggies and a good dressing. For our main dish, we tried the rolled rabbit with gnocchi, the boneless pork knee in beer glaze, and the duck leg with dumplings. All of them were amazing! The meat of each dish was cooked perfectly and surrounded by a pool of delicious sauce that we all mopped up with our various breads. I got the rabbit, which was soft and flavorful. I loved the bacon wrapped inside of it. The sauce that it came in was a little sour but quite yummy. The gnocchi was a bit plain but it went well with the flavorful dish as a carbohydrate side dish. The spinach they came with was also awesome. I tried the other meats and thought they were amazing! The pork knee was very tender and juicy. The duck had that perfect crispy duck skin. The meal itself was quite lovely. We sat on the patio, which was a little tight but not too crowded. The service was great. It made for a perfect last evening in Prague. Also, for the beer, appetizer, and fancy entree, I paid about $13. Cheap AND delicious.

Yelp
With the slightest of effort - you can find some great restaurants in Prague so long as you're willing to veer off the main tourist strips (my impression is that restaurants in the area of the Charles Bridge are priced based upon American/western levels - whereas more local places are in line with Czech economy). This was by far the best meal of our trip; twice as good as any other "fine dining" spot at half the price. Has the feel of a more local neighborhood spot; the menu is presented in multiple languages for ease which was much appreciated. Both soups on the menu - rabbit broth and dill - were exquisite. They have daily 'lemonade' specials - which when added with a shot of vodka or gin make a refreshing and easy drink to go along with dinner. Both our main dishes - duck and pork t-loin - were well prepared and presented, very good portion, and were very delicious. Were we staying in Prague longer we would have seriously considered a second visit to try other dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a restaurant that also has a large beer garden in the back. They only serve one type of beer back there and a limited bar menu, but it's delicious - including a great apple strudel and sausage and peppers.
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
I am elated that this restaurant is so near where I am staying. Great service provided by a team of servers who keep an eye on the whole room. I research pumpkin creations so I tried their ravioli. It was perfect, and even a surprise twist of sweet so to offset the creamy goat cheese. Roasted vegetables, garlic, soup, a mug of stout, and the finest cappuccino I be had since Sicily. I may go back daily.
google avatar

Yelp
Some amazing food and even better prices. We ordered so much stuff here and it came out to be around $15 per person which was incredible. Started with pate, local cheese, which were delicious. Then the duck breast, duck confit, rabbit, veal cheek, and meat platter. Everything was great. The restaurant is pretty small, with some outdoor seating. Make a reservation as they can get busy.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this after we timed our visit to Vysehrad poorly, and found ourselves starving with no plan. What a serendipitous situation that turned out to be! We ordered 2 courses with beer, red wine and coffee. Every bite/sip was delicious, our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was inviting. I ordered dill/poached egg soup followed by salad with goat cheese. My partner ordered goat cheese ravioli in beet/strawberry sauce which had an unnatural color but was incredibly delicious. Even the coffees and the toiletries offered in the restroom were remarkable. Glad we stumbled in!

Yelp
Decent Czech restaurant worth trying if you're in the area. As a party of one, I'm surprised I was able to get a seat near the door, especially since there was a few open tables. However, these people are clearly stickers for reservations. Minus being seated in an annoying spot, the service was good. Attentive and the servers were helpful. The food was pretty good, I had the Czech Mash Potatoes and Ribs. Super filling and priced well--so all good on that front.

Yelp
Great Czech food. We enjoyed everything. Ham with foamed cheese was tasty. Garlic soup was terrific. Not garlicky. Ribs were so tender. Rabbit was great with a brown gravy. Desserts also spectacular. Best of all was very welcome and friendly service.

Yelp
This place we on the way to a castle we were going to. We stopped in for lunch around 4:30pm on a weekday, but there was still a short wait for a table. Since it was a nice day, we opted for the outdoor area; the chairs all have blankets if you get cold. I know everyone comes for beer, but I wanted wine. It was only 48 CZK, but I opted for the other reds by the glass (85 CZK each, both Czehc) - one was too fruity, but the other as a pinot blend and was pretty good. I also finally tried the Pilsner. Food - - Czech ripe cheese: soft cheese - fairly mild, much better when you add the onions and grapes; it came with only one small piece of bread, and it was a little weird to eat it straight with a fork when I ran out of bread - Chicken breast stuffed with Prague ham and sun dried tomatoes, roasted potatoes, and a good variety of roasted vegetables - a fairly healthy plate - Pork knee: super tender, good crust, and the fat was rendered out nicely; it had a dark beer sauce, apple horseradish, chicharrones, and this cinnamon/ginger potato gnocchi that looked like the Korean rice cakes They're open all day, and everyone speaks English. It was a bit of a red flag that the menu came in so many languages (I thought it would be super touristy), but food was solid. Bathrooms are clean. Credit cards accepted.

Yelp
The food here was sensational. Ordered the traditional beef in creamy sauce & beef goulash. I cannot tell you how delicious. Finished off with Apple strudel in vanilla sauce. Also had beer. Service was incredible and the best part...our bill totaled $30!!! Do not miss this spot. Local, fun, amazing food & service. One of the best meals I've had. Cannot say enough good things about this place. A true gem

Yelp
I would regard this as a czech pub with a little bit of 'posh' in it. :) Despite making a reservation, we still had to wait 10-15 min for our table to be ready. Nevertheless, full restaurant is usually a good sign huh? The food, however, is what it all comes to. They have a very interesting taken on czech cuisine and I appreciate this. Prices are acceptable as well, very friendly staff and a reasonable interior. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
U Kroka, let me sing your praises!!! My best testimonial is that I ate here 4 times out of my 8 days in Prague. Total yum. Situated near the Vyton tram stop, away from all the tourist hysteria, this places serves up superior quality food in a cosy high quality restaurant environment. Everything I tried was equally superior, with options for both omnivore and vegetarian palates--chicken schnitzel, stuffed chicken breast with mixed vegetables, beet salad with pesto, potato gnocchi. To top it off, the prices are incredibly reasonable. I couldn't cook this stuff at home for what they charge! If you are a lone diner, you may be able to sneak in without a reservation, but definitely consider booking in advance or you may be disappointed. Of note, although it's not worthy of a star deduction, the service here can be hit or miss. I particularly noticed it on a day that I went between normal service hours (a Sunday, after the lunch rush, before the traditional dinner hour). There was one server who had it out for me! When I asked to substitute the potato gnocchi for mashed potatoes, she icily challenged me "It's possible, but that would be too dry." Wow, au contraire mon ami, I know what want! She eventually put my request through, though I ended up being charged for a full extra side of gnocchi. You have to be prepared for the occasional 'tude, but the food remains worth it!

Yelp
Love Love Love! One of the best meals that we had in Prague. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the food is incredible. They have a two toned beer that was a favorite and probably the best beer in I had in Prague. Everything we ordered was delicious and was all enjoyed for an incredibly reasonable price.

Yelp
One of my husband's colleagues discovered this place through the internet machine and invited us to come along and try it out. It was a short but pleasant tram ride from the city center, as the tram took us along the river. Located on a quiet street lined with trees, I had an inkling that we would have a lovely time here, and sure enough, we did! There is a nice outdoor patio where everyone was enjoying their meal, but it was fully booked so we settled for an indoor table. The extensive menu was filled with Czech classics, "manly, hearty meals", and vegetarian dishes, to name a few. I ordered the rabbit leg and it was perfect: succulent, flavorful, and juicy. The copious amount of creamed spinach, potato dumplings and veggies were a nice touch, and I definitely couldn't finish it all! My table also ordered mix beers, which is exactly as it sounds: light and dark beer mixed together. It was surprisingly not bad, and if you think about it, it's a easy way to enjoy both worlds! The only thing I didn't like was that it was a bit warm inside. There weren't any fans and although they had the doors and windows open, there wasn't a breeze to help us out. Other than that, this is a nice, family friendly spot, a little bit outside the tourist destinations, with authentic Czech dishes. Come hungry!

Yelp
Usually I do not repeat restaurants when abroad; however, considering our bad experiences with another Prague restaurants we ended up coming twice two U Kroka. If any, I would have a better beer selection, since the Gambrinus and Kozel are not amongst my favorites. We ordered the sausages as starter, the boneless pork knee (excellent), the duck confit and the rabbit. Finally, considering food quality and service, it is a good bargain. In sum, a definite recommended Prague restaurant.

Yelp
Total surprise and traditional Checzh cuisine redefined. Superb beets with cheese and arugula salad. Rabbit leg and pig's knee are the stars. They know sources. Wine again is pleasant discovery. Make sure to make reservations. PS price is a steal (for US folks defiantly). Cheers
