"Located on the meandering cobbled street that goes up to the ruined castle Vyšehrad, U Kroka is far enough away from the tourist masses that you’ll likely only hear Czech being spoken in the high-ceilinged dining room with exposed brick walls. The menu is an onslaught of animal flesh—a giant pork knee roasted in dark Czech lager, bacon-wrapped rabbit loin, pork cheeks cooked in a red wine sauce richer than Jeff Bezos, and something called a “veal spider.” Everything that comes out of the kitchen at U Kroka is a step or two above typical Czech pubgrub. Don’t skip the excellent česnečka, or garlic soup, even if it means no one will want to have a face-to-face talk with you for the rest of the day." - David Farley
