19 Impressive Whiskey Bars in NYC | Eater NY

"The recently opened Uchu is split between a 10-seat omakase sushi tasting area and the even smaller eight-seat kaiseki counter, with luxurious dishes like caviar wrapped with rice in toasted nori. The latter space doubles as a whiskey bar with over 80 Japanese bottles, and a new $90 cocktail tasting menu on Sundays and Mondays features some of them." - Paul Schrodt

Google
The sushi was amazing. I got three rolls all about $10 each. They have lots of options for other dishes as well as vegetarian options for rolls. I loved the saltwater aquarium. The atmosphere was lively. I did have a bit of a wait on my food, but it was super busy. The waitress apologized twice. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely be back!

Google
The inside is beautiful! The giant saltwater tank really catches your attention. Arrived at 5pm on Saturday and it was not busy but very quickly picked up. Service was fast and friendly, Korin is absolutely incredible! Plenty of vegan options! The Dynamite roll was delicious. The Chicken Teriyaki Entree is worth the price. It comes with miso soup, salad(dressing is delicious), rice, and 3 gyoza. Overall, it was wonderful experience and I'd go back.

Google
Was a wonderful meal. Speedy service from kind people and absolutely phenomenal food. Got to sit in front of the fish tank and we were very entertained by the fish. We went in for Happy Hour. $35 for a couple rolls, couple appetizers, on top of a tip is very reasonably priced. Love UCHU and would highly recommend! 🤗

Google
Ordered the eggplant role (Nasuyaki) and the Garden Roll. The Nasuyaki was quite disappointing but the garden roll was better. The Wasabi and ginger were definitely not fresh and it took 20 mins for each roll of Sushi. Pretty disappointed with this place.

Google
Highly recommend the salmon skin roll. The sashimi platter comes with verrry generously sized pieces. It's a great deal. Add the hot sake and it's a great time. Amazing service and friendly staff.

Google
I personally love their jalapeño poppers and the Reno roll. But all the other vegan options are equally tasty! Highly recommended!!

Google
Fantastic bento box! And….for $12! Yes please! Gyoza is so hot and juicy! Rolls are super tasty as well!

Google
I've been eating Sushi my whole life since I was very young, so I am extremely perceptive when it comes to discerning high quality and fresh sushi. UCHU sushi on Mississippi is by far one of my favorite sushi spots in Portland! The food is fresh, high quality. The service is also excellent and friendly. However my favorite thing about UCHU Sushi is that I can enjoy Sushi with my 2 dogs because they have an outdoor seating patio. 5 stars all the way with this place. It's not stuffy, and the prices are reasonable.

Yelp
This place is hands down one of the best sushi spots for vegetarians in Portland. They have a ton of options and they have a killer happy hour with great prices. Services is always quick and you have to check out the huge fish tank inside! They have patio and indoor seating!

Yelp
Gotta say this was a delicious surprise and I shall be returning. Teriyaki was good, Shumai was delicious, and the ice tea was on point as well. Great location, environment, and bar layout. Make sure you slide by.

Yelp
We tried the lunch bento boxes, and they are a great value for the price! We loved them so much that we came back the same week for dinner and tried a variety of sushi rolls and entrees. You really can't go wrong here. The reef tank is a beautiful addition, we enjoy sitting at the bar that runs alongside it so we can watch the fish.

Yelp
One very rude person works there. Aggressively rude. The others were nice enough. Food was okay. Man that one person was rude though.

Yelp
My friends and I decided chicken and sushi would be our saturday night cheat day food...because why not right? We ordered the fried chicken wings, gyoza, fried chicken roll, geisha roll, and ginger flavored cocktails. The wings on their own have a great crunchy bite though I wish I could get more hints of the seasoning on them. The sushi really stood out to me. I Never thought of combining it with chicken. Out of each roll I tried the fried chicken roll was the best. It had the best combo of flavors! I also enjoyed the geisha roll and gyoza. If you visit be sure to take a moment to view the huge beautiful aquarium across from the bar.

Yelp
Me and a friend had quite the Saturday seeing a matinee of a play and then a late night rare movie. With a few hours to kill on the in between we figured we'd grab a nice sit down meal. She had been telling me about Uchu for a while so I was excited to try it. I feared it would disappoint - I get nervous when people really talk up a restaurant. This was far better than I expected. Going in on a Saturday to anything can be a bit sketch since places get overwhelmed but we got in early which was perfect. The restaurant was busy and full but their tables are spaced so you are not on top of each other or feel packed in. Service was great too - everything came out very fast. We were the ones taking our time. My friend is a vegan and so was our server which was great because she gave my friend solid recommendations she appreciated a ton. Also, she had so many options to chose from - their menu is pretty incredible for choices no matter what your food needs are. Everything I ordered was incredible - miso soup, shrimp shumai, salmon sashimi, a negihama roll and a dragon roll. Everything was so mindfully made and fresh.
google avatar

Mai S.

Yelp
We ordered a lychee drink, beer, salmon kama, dynamite roll, inari zushi, and hamachi nigiri. The quality of their fish was really good but the rest was decent. I liked the lychee drink a lot. It kind of has a milky vibe to it. The staff helping us was so so but the staff helping every one else seemed really good. There is a big ol' aquarium - not sure if that adds to the atmosphere or makes you feel guilty lol. Seemed like a good place to take a date.

Yelp
I have been doing a survey of biscuits and gravy in Portland and Salem and this is one of the absolute best I have had anywhere. The perfectly seasoned and fried chicken, fluffy biscuit, and rich Chinese sausage gravy was worth every calorie

Yelp
It was a gorgeous afternoon to sit at the picnic tables outside. The staff were incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The veggie gyoza was my favorite dish, and I was thrilled to see a vegan-friendly sushi menu with plenty of options.
google avatar

Jasmine G.

Yelp
My overall experience at Uchu Sushi was mediocre at best. Some standouts for me would be the pleasant environment and friendly staff. They also have an extensive vegan menu which I appreciated. I got the strawberry fields roll (limited time) and the enoki roll. Both I found were delicious but a bit overpriced. My boyfriend tried their chicken teriyaki and tempura roll. While he thought the tempura roll was okay, he found that the chicken teriyaki was disgusting and had a rubber taste to it. Needless to say, I don't particularly think I would be willing to try this place out again.

Yelp
So I've always enjoyed veggie/tempura veggie roll and am thrilled when it's an option on a sushi menu. Now that more and more restaurants are offering plant based options there's so much more to explore! That's exactly what I did when I placed a pick up order at Uchu Sushi & Fried Chicken. It was a special occasion for my husband and I, celebrating our anniversary and because of this very cold weather we didn't really want to go out to eat. Sushi is romantic and when I saw all of the vegetarian/vegan options on the menu I was sold. We ordered 5 rolls total and 2 appetizers and our total was 73$ which was less than expected. We had so much food we couldn't finish everything! We started with the veggie gyoza because who doesn't love gyoza!? I have to be honest the inside of the gyoza was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor but I think they were fried. I enjoy a boiled gyoza lightly pan fried in a mild oil and these ones seemed like they may have been quickly deep fried in salty oil. They were still really good! I'm just not a fried food fan. Next we had the vegan jalapeño poppers - this is one of my favorite things to eat and it's rare that I find them vegan friendly at restaurants! Another vegan dream come true. Now for our rolls - The vegan Monkey roll was simple but a little of the box for me. Made with asparagus, tofu and mango inside, the flavor and texture was mild. The mango brought a little sweetness to the roll that was interesting. 8/10 would order again. The Green Dragon roll sounded right up my alley made with tempura fried asparagus and topped with avocado and unagi sauce - however this was a 6/10 for me because the tempura fried asparagus was so greasy when I chewed and too salty for me with the added unagi sauce. The flavors were great! Just that fried part was really fried and I couldn't enjoy it completely. It's actually the only roll we didn't finish. The Jungle Roll was incredible - mango, avocado and yamagobo (burdock root - which looks like a carrot and has a similar taste/texture), topped with tomato. 10/10 really great flavor and the texture was spot on! Veggie Tempura roll - of course we had to get a classic veggie tempura roll. Filled with sweet potato, carrot and cucumber this was a safer option but delicious nonetheless. And now for my absolute favorite roll that was so brilliant I wish I ordered 2 - the Vegan Chiang Mai roll! A veggie tempura roll with a twist - topped with avocado, mango and a special house curry sauce. This was bursting with flavor! Everything worked so perfectly in this roll and I would encourage anyone to give it a try! We did not have room for dessert but I did see sesame balls on the menu and they are vegan. Maybe next time! When we arrived to pick up our order it was ready for us. The restaurant is very nice and cute inside and perfect for a date night out. I can't wait to go eat in and try new rolls! I would highly recommend Uchu to my veg friends and family. Thank you for having options for everyone.

Yelp
It's hard to know if the food was truly good because well...we waited 50 minutes. We only got it because we were finally able to flag down a staff after multiple tries. Folks that came in after us were able to get their food quicker so we don't know how we were just forgotten. The 3 sushi rolls came out immediately on one big plate after we asked, which meant that it was probably just done but sitting there. The avocado was showing oxidization signs already. The food itself tasted so so...we also had to retry flagging down a staff to get our check. Not sure if they're short staffed, an extremely busy night, or a combination of both--I just wasn't impressed and wouldn't come again.

Yelp
I am extremely picky when it comes to Sushi. Quality and Value are both important to me. Uchu Suchi has extremely fresh fish, great quality sushi, and the pricing is extremely reasonable. On top of this, the service is excellent every time I go there. This review is LONG overdue, as I have eaten here many times, and the food has always been consistently high quality. I love the Yellowtail Sashimi, Sweet Shrimp ("Amaebi") and the Yellowtail collar. I've also love their sushi rolls. The Symphony No. 9 roll Hama Lover Roll are two of my favorites. Last but not least, Uchu Sushi has one of the most amazing Salt Water Aquariums that I have ever seen. You can sit at the bar and look at the endless varieties of exotic fish species and sea anemones in this gigantic tank while you enjoy the food.

Yelp
Best happy hour sushi! Great price for good sushi and $6 mixed drinks, can get a filling lunch for under $20. No fancy bells and whistles, just good food. Very friendly service and relaxed atmosphere, will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jenny R.

Yelp
It was...ok. Came with no expectations, ordered wings, poke and a roll. Biggest disappointment was the wings. They were breaded/crumbed, not fried and the smallest serve. Two small drummets and two tiny half-wings. I thought perhaps I had ordered wrong, so I checked the menu. Nope, these were those but definitely did not match the photos on yelp. Tried to flag someone down to ask but the two staff I had seen were busy and we were hungry. Wish I'd tried harder to find someone. The wings weren't good - the breadcrumbs were flavourless and dry and the ranch just served to highlight that. The poke and sushi roll were better but not redemption worthy.

Yelp
Happy hour review (2-6PM Monday-Friday): Sushi: Tempura roll (7/10): decent roll if you like avocado and shrimp tempura Enoki roll (10/10): vegan sushi? Yes please! I love the crunch of enoki mushrooms - this was my favorite Dynamite roll (9/10): so tasty with a little spice. This is a fried roll (like tempura) We also had a nice Kirin beer with our sushi. Overall, great happy hour!

Carla B.

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere and service! Enjoyed the happy hour menu plus the symphony roll and saké nigiri. Delish!!

Yelp
I really like that they have an amazing variety of vegetarian/vegan sushi roll options. Honestly, my main reason for checking this place out was because of that. Upon entrance, the place is really nice. They have a huge fish tank (ironically, for a sushi place), which is really nice! I wish I had gotten some interior photos, but maybe next time. The waiter was really accommodating and substituted some of the options that we really liked. The food came out really fast, and we were able to eat, enjoy, and leave with satisfied stomachs. This is also my mom's number one favorite spot out of all the food places we have been to so far. That says a lot to me. Definitely check this place out!

Karla N.

Yelp
Uchu has my favorite vegan sushi in town. They have a daily Happy Hour (Wednesday used to be all day HH, not sure if that's still a thing) with a $1 off some rolls. I always get the Nasuyaki Roll (in photo). Lots of great vegan/veg rolls, etc on their menu!

Yelp
Cool space and nearly empty on a Thursday afternoon. Had to try the fried chicken roll and would definitely get it again. Want to try making it at home. The veggie and sashimi rolls were good too. Beautiful fish tank. Our service was great. A nice spin on jalapeño poppers too.
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
Sushi and Fried Chicken? Why not. I've not had the chicken, but the sushi is decent. Great open location with garage doors that open to the outside air in summer. Giant fish tank of tropical fish, which presumably are not made into sushi. Some outside seating to boot. It's a small, intimate space. Casual. Not like a typical sushi place. Not the finest sushi I've ever had, but it's decent and reasonably priced. You'll dig it.
google avatar

Tristan H.

Yelp
Incredible sushi and chicken wings, and one of the most beautiful fish tanks (complete with ALL your FAVORITE fish from Finding Nemo ) that I've ever seen in a restaurant! Really chill vibes! Sushi was fresh and awesome, and MESO WAS REALLY HOT! A lot of restaurants mess this up and serve like warm meso, but they got it right! Definitely will return!!!

Justin ..

Yelp
I wanted to give uchu 4 stars but had to give 5. The value on our dinner is what pushed it to 5 stars. I came in last night with a good friend of mine. We ordered the chef sashimi, karaage, chicken bento, tonkotsu bento and fried chicken. Everything tasted great besides the fried chicken. The chicken was well seasoned but I had the wing/breast and the breast was extremely dry. Fish tasted fresh and extremely tender. Service was great but the thing is all of this a beer and mile * 20% tip was less than $90.
google avatar

Vic M.

Yelp
We ate outside on a busy Saturday night. Service was slow as it seemed our server Evan, although friendly and caring had too many table to take care of. Our small Poke Salads with tuna were nice. $10 The Hawaiian roll ($11), B.C. Salmon roll ($9), as well as the Spicy Tuna roll ($9) we all felt were mediocre as if we could get the same prepared at Safeway. My "thing" at all Japanese restaurants is Hamachi Kama and the one served to us although tasty was the smallest I've ever seen. Also one of the lowest priced in the last few years ($11) so I guess I can't complain. The draft beer that I ordered was completely flat/dead and after I took a sip I asked to have a new one as possibly mine had been sitting for an hour. A few minutes later I was told mine was the last one of the keg and so I could have a different beer but not that one (Pyramid brand Lager). Since they only had two beers on tap I decided to pass on that.

Yelp
The food here is just great. Loved the sushi, loved the desert. Loved the service Eli gave us!
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
N. Mississippi is a lively strip during the summer afternoons and Uchu was uchudiculously busy. Open outdoor courtyard like seating is enjoyable on a nice day but will have annoying streetwalkers weave in-between tables or even pause in front of you and stand aloof. Pricing ~ not bad. Food ~ not that bad. The Fried Chicken specialty was your everyday batter and the sushi rolls run-of-the-mill. Like a chill teriyaki bar. The wait is the hang-up ~ 15 minutes just to get our beer and an hour to get our simple order. Apologetic was the waiter but after multiple 'your food is coming right up', the hungry turns to hangry.
google avatar

Julian A.

Yelp
Uchu is pretty good. If I had to give a food recommendation, I highly recommend the yellowtail nigiri and the unagi roll. The chicken Karaage and their calamari are nothing to write home about (unfortunately), but their miso soup is tasty. In my opinion, I think the food is way too pricey for the experience; it's kind of loud like a dance club because music is blasting in there and I wish the service was quicker. Don't get me wrong, the service was nice and friendly (both visits) but just a little slow (both visits). It was so slow that I found myself asking another server to find my server (both visits). The restaurant gets half a star added to my overall rating because they serve Coca-Cola products.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Uchu was a great experience. Their menu is online only at the moment-you scan a QR code at your table. We ordered the following: The calamari with the sriracha aeoli was excellent. The calamari was wonderful-not the best but it was not as breaded as I would expect/prefer (which is my preference so this is subjective). The habanero margarita is out of this world good. An excellent balance of salt and lime. The habanero sneaks up as a lovely aftertaste. A must try! Symphony #9 rolls were pillowy salmon heaven. They were so soft and flavorful. They did not last long with us! Udon soup with vegetables had some of the best broth in existence. Whatever their broth is stole the show for me. The only downside was I ordered it with tempura prawns-I wish they had been to the side because they were soggy by the time they got to the table. That being said, had I not ordered the tempura prawns with them-a perfect bowl of soup. The chicken wings were very bright and peppery. They were a little tough to eat cleanly but the flavor was crunchy black pepper. Overall our experience here was a great one. They are doing everything they can to protect their customers in the time of COVID 19- they are masking, distancing and sanitizing. We were so impressed by the flavor and quality of service-we would 100% return.

Yelp
I would rate this place closer to 3.5 but rounding up since they are doing well with the precautions with covid during this time. We have walked by this restaurant plenty of times down Mississippi but never stopped by so when the sushi craving hit it was time to come by. The staff was good about online ordering for pick up and ordering just walking up. They maintained a good distance and even have some spaced out tables in the courtyard area if you opt to dine at the restaurant. | WHAT WE GOT | + Spicy Calamari (Corn starch battered and fried and served with a spicy dipping sauce) + Sashimi Flight (Chef's selection) + Vegas Roll (Salmon, cream cheese fried in tempura batter, topped with unagi sauce) + Spider Roll (Deep-fried soft-shell crab, cucumber, avocado, crab salad, kaiware, masago) My favorite items had to be the spicy calamari (nice twist to a classic) and the spider roll. The calamari was flavored well and the batter had nice spice. It's an easy option to share between people as well. They pair it with a spicy dipping sauce as well. I liked the spider roll as the flavors mixed well together and who can say no to soft shell crab? I would probably not get the vegas toll next time as it didn't hold up well when we took it home. Might be different fresh but I would try something different before getting it again. The sashimi flight wasn't a bad option either for the price but would have been better with some tuna in the options. Would I say that this would be my go-to sushi spot after this visit? I wouldn't say so but I think it's a decently priced sushi with friendly service. We waited about 20 mins from when we ordered to when our food was ready, but it's nice to walk around the area so you can kill time while you wait.

Yelp
Walked in and sat by the aquarium. It's a cute spot. We had the vegan jalapeño poppers and 5 rolls from the vegan/vegetarian rolls section-- the green dragon, veggie tempura? (Something with a curry sauce), enoki, garden spider, and monkey rolls. Favorites were probably the monkey, garden spider & enoki rolls. Since we came in with a big appetite we ordered two more of the vegan summer special rolls, but didn't find them quite as good as the rest. Had a great night & service was good! By the time we left the place was busy. Definitely a go-to spot in a cute part of the city.
google avatar

Bruno B.

Yelp
Right off I'll say this isn't your refined sushi experience, nor does it try to be. There are jalapeno popper rolls on the menu (which are actually delicious). The nigiri I had was fresh, but a little thinly sliced. Overall it is tasty and if you are with vegans this is a great place to go, you'll all be happy.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Not the best, not the cheapest. Fried stuff was oily and temperature on the maki we had felt off. Meal didn't sit well the next day. Service was dismissive and frustrated that we didn't know our full food order within 2mins of sitting at the bar (place was only half full at best). Love their light fixtures and their fish tank is pretty cool.
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
Plenty of street parking on the adjacent streets. They have pretty good cocktails and food. The happy hour gives you smaller portions for a cheaper price. The cocktails are good. The sushi is amazing. The fried chicken has too much flour/batter in my opinion.
google avatar

Steff ..

Yelp
We dined outside and it was an amazing experience. Their service was spot on and the surrounding in general has a peppy vibe to it. We loved the jalapeño poppers and sushi a lot and enjoyed the drinks with the amazing weather.
google avatar

Liza M.

Yelp
Oh my, I got to eat gluten free fried calamari! I was overjoyed! So many gluten free choices; I was a happy camper plus a cool ambiance with a fish tank and Madonna and other fun pop music playing in the background. Thanks!

Tammy P.

Yelp
The service was great and friendly. We ordered the salmon Kama, edamame, the Mississippi roll, and chicken kaarage. Everything was seasoned well and great amount of food for the price. Will definitely come again!
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
The place was really disappointing. First We got a spicy Tuna roll and the Portland roll. Both were kind of funky and not very good tasting like something was wrong with the rice... then we got a bowl of Ramen and a bowel of Udon. The noodles in the ramen were so over cooked and soggy that my wife didn't even finish them. I tried them and the were pretty bad. My Udon was just plain boring and lazy. The noddles were cooked ok but the broth had no flavor. It was supposed to be a veggie dish but all it had was some chopped broccoli and maybe one sliced raw mushroom. I feel like the whole meal was made by someone who just does eat care about their job at all. The place was busy though and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Maybe it's better as a bar? But I would never go back or recommend it to anyone.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably my own fault for thinking a place that bills itself as sushi and fried chicken (although there wasn't much chicken on the menu??) would be somewhat decent. Hostess was nice and sat two of us right away. Dim lighting, clubish music, the ambiance was fine. Took a bit for our waitress to come over but when she did she was pleasant. She asked us what we wanted to start so we ordered drinks and passed on appetizers and were clearly still looking at the menu. She just kind of stared at us. It was just weird.. like "to start" implies to me we aren't ordering our main courses. Awkward lol. Once we did order it didn't take too long for our food to come out. My girlfriend had the chicken teriyaki ($8 happy hour special comes with rice and two pot stickers) and I ordered the caterpillar roll and the symphony #9 roll. Caterpillar was eel, cucumber and crab salad topped with avocado. #9 was eel and avocado topped with seared salmon and sauce. My mistake was reading too fast and not realizing the salmon was seared, but the roll was not great. The flavor combos just did not go together and it was lukewarm (assuming from the salmon) and just blah. The caterpillar roll wasn't too great either. Just tasted a little off. Bleh. My girlfriend said the teriyaki was fine but nothing great either. Our waitress was friendly when delivering the check but wasn't very attentive otherwise. I wouldn't return. Not worth it.

Yelp
The food is good, and the vegan options are phenomenal. I will definitely continue to order food to go, but I will not dine in again. The service is very hit-or-miss. My most recent experience was awful. The management seems friendly, and so do some of the wait staff, but YIKES there was one woman who was so condescending and rude!!! I've never been treated so awful while dining in. And I saw this wait staff ignore a food delivery guy... I was so embarrassed watching the interaction... But the food is so good that I can't avoid the place all together.

Yelp
Solid 5 stars. We came into town to see a friend and she recommended take out from this place. A hundred bucks later we had so much food for 4 people. I loveeeee the creativity behind the sushi rolls. Honestly the ones we ordered were so good. I also love the microgreens used in the rolls. The tuna roll, the BLAT, the shrimp and avocado, the nigiri...especially the salmon was so fresh and so tasty. They also separated the veggie rolls from the ones with meat. I love when there is thought like that put into takeout packaging. The presentation was great, everything was fresh and incredibly budget friendly. We only had sushi but would definitely try other things. So tasty.

Yelp
I've dragged my feet on this review.. I went here with friends a few months ago.. I tried to call the night before (before they closed) to let them know we would be there when they opened with a large group.. no one answered the phone and I left a voice mail. It was several days later before someone returned my phone call and I said.. well, this is pointless now, I even specified it was for "tomorrow, Sunday" and I assume there was a time stamp on my voicemail.. but it took sooo long for someone to return my call. The person returning my call seemed confuse (it's not that hard, really). Anyways.. we still showed up with about 10 people the next day.. no one else was there.. great, right?! We should get in and out of there super fast.. but no, it took forever for our food to come out. We were starving, I think it took over 35 minutes for the first dishes to show up.. it made absolutely no sense.. there was no one else when we got there, the place had tons of seating--made me question what this place was like on a busy night. Do people even get to eat? Overall the food was okay.. it was just super slow slow food service and the server wasn't really attentive to us. We asked to pay using 3 methods (we even gave him the amount to charge for the 2 credit cards) and the server seemed super annoyed by this. We didn't ask to split the tab, we calculated it out ourselves.. the others just did not have cash on them. Next time I'd rather go somewhere else.

Yelp
Got the lunch bento box with teriyaki salmon. Before I ordered a red dragon roll. Great food!!! And the bartender was our server and she was so friendly and nice!
google avatar

Al C.

Yelp
Very cool setup, kinda like a repurposed garage with large tropical fish tanks. We were seated quickly and Serivce was good despite the busy weekday evening. Monkey brain was only one of the more creative dishes and rolls. Only the Ramen was a bit too salty, everything else was fresh and tasty.

Bryon R.

Yelp
1 word. Horrible Do not order from here. You will regret it. Nothing was good. Even the little salad was bad.
google avatar

Amethyst W.

Yelp
I love that this place had happy hour for sushi and sides. We had really great seats that were near outside, but not outside so we were able to enjoy the beautiful yet slightly cold weather. They serve a good plum wine here, and their Shumai and udon were really quite tasty. The sushi rice was a bit too mushy and slightly doughy in consistency, so it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.
google avatar

Sydney C.

Yelp
Simple sushi with lots of vegetarian options! The fried chicken roll was pretty good, but I was not thrilled by the Chiang Mai roll was nothing to write home about and lacked a bit in flavor. Overall a good place to get basic sushi at a modern style sushi restaurant.

Yelp
Without a doubt the best vegan sushi I've ever had! Vegan gyoza and vegan chiang mai rolls are bomb. Don't skip the sesame balls. Super friendly and sassy in a fun way staff and strong drinks. My only question - how do the aquarium fish feel watching us?

Yelp
I was really craving some sushi and I'm in town visiting my sister and she suggested pickup from uchu. I was really intrigued with some of the rolls and decided on the sunshine roll. I added cream cheese and wanted some spicy mayo for the roll, as well. This was an additional $1.50 and I sadly did not get either. This was a bummer because of the extra payment and I was very excited for the entire roll I ordered. I also ordered the chicken yakisoba, this was pretty good and was a lot of food. I enjoyed it but could have used a little bit more flavor. I would order again but I would make sure to check my food before leaving the restaurant.
