We went here for a friend's birthday celebration and this food is very delicious clean and played great music! The food was so healthy and clean there was no sluggish feeling after. Just energized and fulfilled! Definitely the best vegan restaurant I've ever been to! I will return to this restaurant and you should check this place out if you are reading this!

Omg I don't even know where to start. This place is just amazing. Please please visit it and support this local place. We need it to stay for many years to come. Everything is vegan and actually very healthy. Unlike other places that claim to be healthy this local place is actually one of the healthiest. They use organic, clean, fresh, and delicious ingredients, including healthy cooking oil, not toxic and inflammatory seed oils. I have tried many dishes and they have been nutritious, comforting, and delicious. My mom is an amazing hispanic cook, and I grew up with many of these dishes. She has competition now LOL! I tried their pupusas and they're the absolute best, fresh maize dough (masa), no lard, not greasy, no unhealthy and toxic vegan cheese, simply great. Also, their enchiladas are devine, they're fresh, great, and delicious. They make them to order and not to mentioned their tortillas are hand made, yum! I also tried their bfast tofu with cactus (nopales) and it was extraordinary. Deserts are also delicious! Also, the service here is delightful. The owner is very friendly, kind, funny, and caring. The ambiance is also pleasant, relaxing, and cozy. Please don't think it twice and give them a try, you won't regret it

He's been vegan for decades and shared with us a plethora of diet and health advice, delving into topics like live gut bacteria, the benefit of leafy greens, etc. He clearly cares about his customers' health. He explained that he tries to avoid serving fried food, sugary drinks, etc. There is a single-stall bathroom in the back of the kitchen that you have to be escorted to. Give this place a try. You'll come to see that food can simultaneously be healthy and delicious (:

I love this place, the food and people. I've been coming here for years. Carlos, the owner, is an awesome guy. I always have great conversations with him and Maria, the cook she's awesome as well she gets down in the kitchen lol. I truly recommend this place.

Un Solo Sol is an absolute hidden gem that serves a variety of dishes that nourish your soul and also teach a unique perspective on history. The mishmash of dishes ranging from South American to Indian may confuse you at first, but know that the flavors will be delicious! Items we recommend: the green pozole that’s so comforting, pupusa platter with herbaceous chipilin (heartier spinach) and beans, and the Indian kachumber salad with perfectly spiced tofu. End on a sweet note with the kheer almond milk rice porridge and don’t forget to try the hibiscus drink! Carlos, the owner, was lovely to speak with.

Un Solo Sol is a very special place. The owner, Carlos, has a vision of a better world where humans respect the earth and share her gifts of love. We had taquitos, pupusas, pozole, and avocado toast. Everything was delicious, fresh, unprocessed, and perfectly seasoned. The pozole was the best vegan pozole I’ve ever tasted, and I tried several in Mexico City. If you’re ever in LA don’t miss the blessings of Un Solo Sol.

This place was phenomenal. The food was incredible, the service delightful, the cook was gracious, and the owner was a beautiful human being. Carlos served our very large group personally and then took much time out of his evening to share about the ethos of his establishment and history in the neighborhood. It was rich all around. Next time I'm in LA, I'm definitely going back.

What a sweet little find! My friends and I were in the area for a conference and were looking for a quick vegetarian bite. To our delight, we found this awesome vegan Mexican/Indian fusion spot in the heart of Boyle Heights. Our server, who I am assuming was the owner of the place took so much pride in explaining to us how everything he was going to serve us was vegan and made in house. We ordered chips and guacamole, taco platter (pastor, choya- chickpea stew), tacos de picadillo, and taco de nopales. The platter came with rice and beans and my friend and I ordered agua de sandía and agua de guanábana. The pastor was made with mushrooms in a pastor marinade, choya was made with chickpeas, and picadillo was made with a blend of lentils that had been stewed spices for hours. As the owner explained, nothing they use is made with inflammatory artificial meats. The chips were baked, the guacamole and aguas frescas were made on the spot and nothing was over sweetened. 5 stars because this place is offering the community real health on a plate! The flavors offer you that, real healthy and flavor infused guisados that come from using real ingredients. Don't come here expecting to satisfy a salty fried filled craving. Come here with an open mind and in appreciation of what healthy good for you food should taste like.

Cute lil vegan place that had delicious gluten free options. I started with the organic coffee and homemade almond milk (which was thee best almond milk Ive ever had). It was so good! Black bean papusa. Masa was so delicious and had alot of filling. I wish the salsa had a wee bit more spice but it was still very good. Curtido was fresh and crisp. Definitely a good thing to order I also ordered the homemade tortillas and so glad that I did. The freshness if the masa. The thickness. Stone ground tortillas were again so delicious. Lol i need a thesaurus. Lastly I had the pozole. With tofu. Rojo. I smacked that small bowl. The spices were on point. The broth was one of the best Ive had. Fresh crisp radish, cabbage. I would recommend this dish. It was perfect. Food was so good I ordered a red pozole (large) to go. Prices were good. Customer service was excellent Restaurant was very clean (also a plus) Wish I lived closer. I would be a regular.

Very nice mom and pop shop! Situated in the heart of the mariachi plaza! Very diverse menu. They have Persian, Latin food and much more . Green pozole was amazing , I'm glad the sever recommended it to me. So flavourful and delicious.

Great Vegetarian Food in Boyle Heights. They also include Vegan food. Service was great only 20 minute wait for a family of 8. The waiter kept checking in on us if we needed anything. The atmosphere was great everyone seemed to enjoy the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this location to all Vegans and Vegetarians.

Stopped by because according to their site and their door it says it is open on Sundays 12 pm and it's closed l. I drove from the IE to pick up vegan Mexican food and it's not even open as advertised

One of my favourite place to grab lunch with vegan friends! The place is small, but the food is delicious and the service always friendly. One of my faves is the lomo saltado with mushroom; great flavour and you don't even miss the meat. Only downside is that there's only street parking and the ac isn't great.

The decor is simple, but the art on the walls is colorful, eye catching and thought provoking. It celebrates Boyle Heights, and the Mexican and Central American experience. I like sitting by the window so I can people watch the mariachis across the street or the skaters doing their tricks. Everything on the menu seems delicious so I try something new every time. This week I went with my husband who had the Al Pastor Bowl and I had the Diana's Pupusa plate. I'd been really interested in trying these because they are made with yellow corn and the fillings can include the traditional loroco and beans, but also nopales and I love nopales! As a plus the plate was delivered with delicious steamed platanos. The food is well cooked, fairly priced and served at a reasonable time. No long waits. Carlos, the owner is often there to greet you and even though you can place your order via the QR code, he comes by and takes your order. I need to eat here more. Next time, I will try Patricia's Pozole and Felipa's Stuffed Platanos.

Finally had the opportunity to come back again and now it's a 100% vegan restaurant. Spoke with the owner and he said he focuses on using natural food and not the processed stuff. He was really nice and told me about his journey. I ordered Sandra's Saltado (Peruvian entree. Choice of tofu or Portobello mushroom, cooked with tomato, red and yellow bell peppers, red onions, and home fries. Brown rice and house salsa on the side.) I also ordered the nopalitos and cholay (Indian curry chickpeas ) tacos on the side. My girlfriend had the Picadillo (lentils) burrito. Food was extremely flavorful. We weren't a fan of the cholay. Nopalitos taco was the favorite! It's a small place with one large table of about 8 in the middle of the room and two tall chairs tables for 2. It was a chill ambiance. People picked up Togo orders and left. There is one gender neutral restroom in the back. Parking can get tricky. Glad we easily found one on the street on a Saturday early evening. Located across the street from Mariachi Plaza. They're not open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I discovered this amazing restaurant by searching on line for a vegetarian Restaurant. I've never checked reviews as I like to experience by myself. I was so pleased with the service, food and the cleanness of the Restaurant that I'll keep on going back over and over and over to eat there. The other amazing thing, is that they do not accept tips. I live in the West Hollywood/Hancock Park area and I am praying so they will open a restaurant in my area. They are not only serving vegetarian but regular meals as well. The service was excellent, as well as the attention to details and my requests. This is in deed, a Restaurant for everyone to try at least once. Once you do, you will keep on coming back over and over and over to try all of their special dishes.

Thrilled to have found this place! Had a lovely conversation with Carlos the owner about healthy habits and the mind/body connection. He's so knowledgeable and authentic about what he is offering here. Had the pupusas and they were amazing. Can't wait to return and try the rest of the menu.

I haven't been here in years. I was in the community and decided to stop by I ordered some taquitos The photo showed it had guacamole but I didn't see that it stated did not include guacamole. It was very dry, I ordered a side salad it was $7.50 for a small side salad. I went back got the black bean pupusas very dry. Would I recommend yes. Would I come back ? No no no now I remembered why I stop coming. To expensive and the food is not that great. Just because Boyle heights got gentrified doesn't mean you have to too.

Come here for good, nutritious, food made with quality ingredients. Our server was very passionate about veganism and it was clear he really believed in what he was doing. The highlights of our meal were definitely the pupusas but I didn't get a picture of them :( I'm glad we stopped by!

Setting the scene: My girlfriend and I were on the return trip home from a wonderful weekend in Venice Beach (we live in Palm Springs) and our fuel guage showed 3 miles remaining and thus our fortunes began. We filled up at the local Mobile gas station and whew, that close call was narrowly averted. Next on my agenda was taking a wizzer as I've been squirming in my pants for the past 30 minutes - uggg, no public restroom here!!! I quickly consult yelp as I'm also getting low blood sugar to boot - these variables are not good together. Great news though - Un Solo Sol is 3 min away and we speed off. Navigation appears to lead us right to the restruant but despite our eagle eyes we don't spot the joint. Damn, this is getting bad. We decide to try again and circle the block, The 2nd attempt proved fruitful as we locate their small, hard to spot sign. Next dilema is parking as there is a mariachi festival in the plaza across the street and spots are slim to none. We park a block away and high step it. Arrived: In the nick of time.... First impressions of the place were good - clean, nifty art on display, and friendly staff to welcome us (Ismael and Cynthia). Without further adooo, I ask to use the restroom and am escourted through the kitchen area to a clean bathroom to do my biz. Ahhhh, sweet relief! It's a little strange walking through the kitchen to get to the restroom but I welcome the sight of a well organized cooking area and enjoy exchanging a smile with the chef. All good in the hood! Mmmmm: the food.... Sweet Cynthia quickly sits us to an empty restruant (huh It's 6:30 pm on a Sunday?) and hands us our menus which are as fresh looking as the pictures of the food.

The most underrated vegan restaurant in LA! I've never had anything here that is bad. Everything is really good and good for you. One of my favorite things about this place is that the food is natural. You won't find processed foods here. The saltado and anti chilaquiles are my go to. Both green salas are bomb! The chickpea salad is delicious and refreshing. The pozole is amazing and hits the spot. This place should always be busy and I am shocked that it's not. The vegan community NEEDS to show up for this place.

I cleaned my plate in 20 minutes. Un Solo Sol is a small business with peaceful ambience and hearty food. I had the Ghormeh Sabzi platter, it's a thoughtful portion size. Flavorful and inexpensive (considering food prices)

The food was 11/10! Everything tasted really healthy and the spices were great. I got the Sandra's Ghormeh Sabzi Bowl, Al pastor bowl, Kheer and corn tortillas! The kheer was great :) Service was very fast and the owner was friendly Inside of restaurant was cozy and good for sitting with a friend. For sure I will be back if I'm in the area! Alot of other vegan food is deep fried or has a lot of processed stuff but this place was cool bc they make food that is good for you :)

We made the (not-so) mistake of watching a vegan food show on YouTube that featured vegan pupusas. While the vegan pupusas they featured were not from here, this prompted an impromptu vegan pupusa date night. We got two chipilin and bean pupusas and one loroco and bean. They didn't have a cheese option (or I missed it), and I admit, I was a bit apprehensive to have a pupusa without cheese, but I should not have been. The masa's consistency was chewy and moist and delicious, and balanced the mashed beans and the veggies perfectly. I just wish they gave more of the curtido and salsa. My partner got a pozole verde with mushrooms. We also got a champurrado and some fried plantains. Everything was so delicious. This is a small space, so I can imagine it can get crowded (although when we went, it was ok - got filled up the later it got) -- we parked on the street a couple blocks down.

I was by the mariachi Plaza in LA & I found this wonderful vegan restaurant Un Solo Sol I highly recommended the food is made fresh on the spot I had the veggie soup & a taquito it was delicious, awesome I will definitely be back to enjoy more of that delicious vegan food

What a great find. Healthy fresh ingredients clearly prepared with thought. The pupusas were excellent as were the wraps. Eating vegan is a pleasure here. Right across from the Mariachi Plaza Metro stop, it is a breeze to get here. Don't miss the gorgeous mural that tells a story.

I love, love, love, love their pupusas! Everything is always fresh and delicious. What I love most is that it's in a neighborhood near where I grew up. Supporting small businesses, especially in my neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods is vital to keeping places like this open!

I'm not even going to lie, I walked in skeptical because it past experiences with really bland vegan based restaurants. My repeated message was "I'm making a sacrifice to dine here!" Oh was I wrong!! The owner served us and he was ultra helpful and nice to give us a brief history of the restaurant and their cooking/menu philosophy. Both of us that were there, truly enjoyed the food and both of us would come back the food was delicious. My tacos de papa were flavorful and well cooked and the rice and beans with the salad were a nice compliment. Portions were good, not massive but filling. The agua Fresca made from watermelon was delicious... I did want to try the baked plantain dessert but I was still very satisfied with the meal. Looking forward to try more items from their menu. The ambience feels homely and the service is excellent. The waiter is very attentive and The food options are all vegan but the there is a variety of options. Also great drink options are available. Everything I ordered was healthy and tasty.

By far one of the cleanest and freshest vegan options I've encountered...staff is friendly and lets the food do the talking. You can't get much better than this when it comes to healthy vegan options.

So, So Very Good! Loved the food, so tasty and amazing. Chill place with great service, right across the street from the Boyle Heights/Mariachi Plaza Metro train station. We had the chips & guac (chips are so simple and so tasty!), the Anti-Chilaquiles (fantastic), and the Saltado (which I found incredibly delicious). Everything is well-prepared and so, so tasty. The menu has so many choices. We will be back, again and again.

Good service and great food, very rarely will you get the both. The ambience is so so, they definitely need some music and the seating needs to be readjusted. Our server, which I believe may be the owner was extremely knowledgeable, and very friendly. Checked up on us just in the perfect amount of time. Not overwhelming, nor not too little. The food, everything was made from scratch. Not a single can was opened. Our taquitos were baked, we tried every appetizer on the menu, and everything was good. My favorite was definitely the avocado toast, and the pupusa (and I don't like pupusas). Definitely a hidden gem in East LA /Boyle Heights.

We drive all the way from Las Vegas, NV we love the food and the service. The owner is amazing and so was the cook. They make you feel at home.

Was feeling a little u set the weather so I decided to order the vegetable soup. I ordered 24oz soup for $13. I felt better after consuming this vegetable delight. Will definitely order the soup again
