Pretty cool bar. I always stop in when I’m Rainey. Has a nice slide. Good drinks. Cool vending machine. People were getting down. Guy at the front checking IDs was super duper nice.

Google
Such a great atmosphere! Very friendly and active, with a variety of folks in the bar. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and they have a great selection of both food and drinks! Other highlights include a NSFW claw machine filled with vibrators and nipple tassles, a cute outside patio, and even a slide! Now that I think of it, the whole place was open access to the outdoors, but the heaters kept us plenty warm in the 40° weather.

I like the front outside seating area. Didn’t try the back seating area. The bar was simple and the bartenders were very friendly. Food was good but the person in the kitchen was unfriendly. 🤷🏼‍♂️

My husband and I stayed in Austin at the holiday inn for my birthday and we walked down this cute street with all these cute bars. This one stands out and they have a menu hanging on the fence outside with pictures which made me decide I wanted to try the cheeseburger. Inside is like a wonderland, and lots of stuff to do. Not a boring bar at all. When the food came out it looked good but tasted amazing. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It’s a bit greasy and the fries are salty but that’s how I like mine. We didn’t get drinks but the handsome door man will ask for everyone’s ID so have it prepared. I can’t wait to stay at the holiday inn again so we can walk down here every night!

A bar with a 20’ slide! Ok. Fine. Silly bachelorette-type crowd. $10 RBVs. Funnel cakes available at the middle station bar. The “regular” comes with chocolate drizzle and raspberry dipping sauce. $6. Took about 20 from order on a semi-busy early Saturday night.

This was a really cool and fun bar to check out! It is a circus theme bar with some games and even a slide! They also had amazing live music that got everyone really excited. They also have a good variety of drinks at reasonable prices. It gets very crowded inside so be prepared for that!

Google
If you’re looking for crowded fun bar with music, that’s one of the spots to enjoy on Rainey. Their drinks and cocktails are not that great, but the atmosphere and the slide in the backyard make up for it! Weekends are extremely packed here!

This is such a fun bar that brings out the kid at heart! And they have the most interesting claw machine around--i suggest you go and check it out!

Yelp
I was looking forward to coming to this place when we booked our trip to Austin, and I was not disappointed! Great atmosphere here! The theme of this bar looked so exciting online and walking past it during the day. It's carnival themed for sure when you walk in. Cool colors, designs, all of it! And, A SLIDE! The slide was super cool. They had live music in the back, and there were a lot of people in different groups all over the place hanging out. We watched the band for about a half hour, looked around at the theme of this whole place, and realized that we hadn't even bought a drink! We wanted to move to the next bar so we got a pineapple upside down cake shot and moved on, but this bar's theme is super cool!

Yelp
This was my last journey on Rainey Street. We probably had the most fun here, due to the slide and the basketball they had out front. The staff was cool here, and they even remembered us, after we left for about an hour and re-entered the bar. I would definitely suggest going down the mini-slide, and let your friends video you coming down, which seemed to be the theme. Everyone was cordial, and kept the line moving here. We only did lemon drops shots here (Yes, this surely wasn't my idea, lol) But I did have a lot of fun and the DJ was cool. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be a place I would go because it's mostly twenty somethings but some friends of my relative brought us here, and we enjoyed the night!

Michelle G.

Yelp
There's a slide, hula hoops, what else could you want for a fun night out?? The crowd was fun. Music from the DJ was sometimes good, sometimes not, but would go again!

Julie S.

Yelp
This is such a fun spot on Rainey street! I ordered a drink there, it didn't leave too much of an impression on me. I also didn't order any food, but it looked like it was all carnival/circus-themed junk food. I wish maybe they had some healthier options. However - the ambiance was amazing! The circus theme is a little cheesy and kitschy, but if you can get past that, it's a lot of fun. There's live music, hula hoops, a SLIDE!!! I've never seen that before, definitely makes this place pretty unique in my eyes. This is one of two locations, there is another on 6th street. I found the Rainey neighborhood to be a lot more enjoyable.

Sydney S.

Yelp
Nothing too special here other than the little slide. Was easy to get a drink and the music was fun, but the place just felt a little on the basic/grimey side of going out.

Matteo C.

Yelp
Worst food, drinks, music, ambience and service you can think of. Good riddance it's closing forever. May rest in peace your poor business skills

Errin S.

Yelp
Ok, dive bar alert. But that's what you're here looking for, right?! Live music, lively people, bar tenders having a good time serving up somewhat over priced drinks, multiple large TVs positioned around the establishment inside and out showing the current sporting events. There's even a giant tube-slide from the main floor to the outside patio. We hung around (like the 'members' on the wall) for a few drinks as the place filled up. A few different bachelorette, bachelor, and birthday parties filled the multi-level space with meter-high daiquiris, hula hoop competitions and those dancing to the live music. Looked like everyone was having a good time. This is not a "top-shelf" bar... no fresh squeezed fruits, or even mint leaves for a mojito, but if you're looking for a good old fashioned party scene, you've found the place to be on Rainey St.

Melynda S.

Yelp
One of the more popular spots on Rainey! If you are wanting a lot of room to dance or sit at a table - this is probably not the spot for you. It is very crowded, and often has a line to get in. Music is pretty good for dancing, and the circus theme is unique and fun. A standard drink was $10, so not the most budget friendly. Bartender was nice, not particularly great service, but not rude. Overall would recommend!

Marcellus W.

Yelp
Rude and extremely unprofessional. The manager Nick FIRED the door guy right in front of me for talking to me on my anniversary. Making me feel like a complete piece of shit and ruining my night. I went to Unbarleviable to hang out before my girlfriend got off work as she works at the bar next door, and it was about to be our anniversary. I stopped in and had a drink. As I was leaving, I stopped to talk to the door guy, Paul. He was a genuinely good dude who was on top of his job, and as someone who has managed restaurants and bars for the better part of 8 years, I complimented him and asked for his information. Paul pulled out his phone to get my info, and the manager NICK walked up and FIRED him. No questions asked because he had his phone out. I am new to Austin, and I was genuinely excited to have met a solid dude at a place i could possibly frequent. Unless my patronage was not wanted due to the color of my skin, which I am really not trying to consider, I don't understand why You sent a deeper investigation wasn't warranted before firing him. Leaders lead, not fire an employee in front of the guests and ruin their anniversary by making them feel guilty for talking to a doorguy. When I tried to talk to the manger Nick, he ignored me like I didn't exist. He was obviously having a bad night and took it out on a hard-working man. I don't know Paul at all, but he didn't deserve this. What if I was a Hispanic man trying to get directions but I didn't speak English? Don't help them? The manager NICK went on a power trip, and it is probably the reason the bar was so empty that Paul could talk to me. I recommend DO NOT GO. If possible. As a fellow human being who works hard and is just trying to make it, this was extremely wrong. If we do not support good people like Paul, people like NICK THE MANAGER will continue to mistreat good people. You deserve so much better, Paul. Thank you for your professionalism and for making me feel comfortable at the bar that night.

Yelp
Stopped by for a drink and a snack. Enjoyed a mai tai and some amazing chili cheese fries (like stop what you are doing and order these). It was loud and there was a ton of energy. Of course you have to take the slide down to the restroom. Fun spot!

Steph S.

Yelp
We really liked this spot. We happened to walk past it on Rainey street during the day and stopped in for a quick drink. We tried the local Texas spiked seltzer brand and that wasn't bad. There's a cool atmosphere here with an outdoor area and a slide. Funny little spot with a different

Yelp
A group of my friends just left this place, as bartender at the bar just assaulted our friend. He had a can of coffee from across the street and wasn't stopped by the bouncer with it on the way in. A short blonde bartender demanded he give it to her. Our friend said, "My bad, I'll just leave with it. Didn't know it wasn't allowed." He was walking away and was halfway out the door when the bartender ran over, grabbed his neck, grabbed the drink from his hand, and threw it in the air, getting coffee all over another customer. Our friend was sober, driving that night, and was respectful and nice the whole time. She chased him out and assaulted him before taking a picture. One of the worst experiences we've ever had. The woman is obviously unhappy, mean, and an angry little person.

Shashikala P.

Yelp
After a hike at lady bird trial, me and my friend stopped at Unbarlievable, there were just few people as it was early afternoon. Service was good, food was good but the place needs some serious and deep cleaning, it's so so dirty. We ordered fried chicken sandwich and shrimp tacos. Sandwich is huge, easily 2 people can share, it was good, fries was amazing. My friend liked her tacos, all in all decent food and service but place itself is dirty!

James K.

Yelp
This is one of the funner bars on rainey in my opinion. They have a line to get in the bar quite frequently and the environment/atmosphere is awesome. Drinks are solid and prices are in line with other nearby bars. The food is only okay but for a fun time out this is a good spot.

Abby P.

Yelp
Really can't complain about Unbar. Obviously it's very fun and decorated in the coolest way. All of the circus inspirations make for a really easy time partying and celebrating. The staff is incredible and the food is also really yummy! The back patio is a blast and once the sun went down, the music was perfect and blasting right at the best loud volume. It even stayed open when a huge storm came through and we all just danced out in the rain. Truly so much fun! Highly recommend coming to this place on Rainy to get a real Austin experience!

Tracy K.

Yelp
We noticed this place the night before with a huge line a half a block long! Texas is Open! Went the day in the early afternoon. Less people which was great. Looks like it is a fun fun place when there isn't a pandemic. A slide down to a lower outdoor area. Super fun vibe. We ordered Philly cheesesteak fries, fried pickles, shrimp tacos which were banging! But the Insides were too big for the small taco, still super tasty. Self serve water.

Kristi M.

Yelp
Worst bar on Rainey. No no no. Take it from someone who lives on Rainey street and spend you money literally at any other bar on the street but here. Horrid customer service. 10/10 do not suggest. Would give 0 stars if I could. Don't let the theme reel you in. You've been warned.

Brandi K.

Yelp
I love Austin. I've never spent more than 2 nights but oh my gosh I always have a blast. Popped on down to Rainey Street to have some drinks after a full day of meetings. We hopped from bar to bar to bar, but stopped and stayed at Unbarlievable until we were rudely kicked out at closing time (there was no last call - just GTFO! haha). We had such a blast.

J C.

Yelp
Bar has a cute ambiance but wow we were first given someone else's bill after ordering one round. Handed a check triple the amount of drinks we ordered. The gentleman apologized; as I took a sip of my drink I realized it tasted weird. I asked him to make it again he did ... again it tasted like cough medicine weird. He then stated their pineapple juice isn't tasting well, so I just ask for a vodka cran with a lime. (I order these all the time.) he made it and I immediately could tell the Vodka is WATERED Down. Walked away and gave him the benefit of the doubt I honestly don't think he knew. This bar needs to be inspected. It's absolutely wrong to cheat people.

Jane M.

Yelp
Stopped by this bar while bar hopping on Rainey street and one if the reasons we loved it here was the slide. The slide was fun especially after a few drinks everyone gets to be a child and play on the slide. It was silly but fun. The drinks here were too sweet and even diluted. So did not enjoy the drinks here. Overall liked the vibe and the slide is what made me give this place 3 stars!

Calvin R.

Yelp
Pretty fun bar to visit. They have a giant slide which is fun. They have plenty of tv's to watch sports. Tables and lounge seats to sit at. They serve food and drinks. There was live music during the day and a dj at night. Nighttime got pretty packed with lots of dancing. Customers started hula hooping and everyone was getting excited watching them hula hoop. Lol

Bruce B.

Yelp
This place is unique. There's an adult-sized slide inside, and a claw machine that offers an assortment of sex toys. Never seen that before. Yep, lots of eye-candy in this place, that's for sure! My suggestion? Take a look around, do the slide, buy an overpriced drink from one of the surly bartenders, try your hand at the claw game, take some selfies, then bug out elsewhere for parts unknown. Like I did. With a huge neon-pink rubber dildo that I won from the claw machine suction-cupped to my forehead. Yeehaw!

Shannon F.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere! Great live music! Food looked amazing. Drinks were cold. Highly recommend.

Lynn M.

Yelp
Drinks were decent. With a cute atmosphere. Employees racist. Very selective towards certain cultures in regards to service. I've been here before a few years ago and we had no issues. It must be the training with the most recent employees? Guess things have changed.

Maulik M.

Yelp
As far as places on Rainey St go, this isn't a bad place to check out or stop by for a drink or two. There's a slide which is pretty small but surprisingly fun. Outdoor patio is a little cramped but has good music and good drinks. Great vibe. Bartenders are nice and fast. They have a live music on weekends. Who doesn't love a huge giraffe, game room and a slide in a bar setting? Always a good time! Over all, cool circus themed bar. Back yard with live music. Different types of tables and sitting areas. Love this street to barhop! Good place to check out on Rainey St.

Morgan M.

Yelp
Bartenders choose favorites and service people first according to who they think will tip best. I waited 15 minutes for a drink and kept getting skipped over. I won't be going back. Check out Lustre Pearl down the street. Amazing music, great vibe, damn good drinks and down to earth bartenders who give everyone a chance.

Patrick J.

Yelp
This is the 1st bad review I've given on Yelp. The bar itself is great, but one of the bartenders was not. The bar was busy - I get it, however, the bartender we went to for our second drink of the night actively ignored us as we patiently stood there and waited. He had short, dark hair and a trimmed beard. He literally served the people to left and right of us multiple times avoiding any eye contact with us. We patiently waited and just awkwardly watched as he ignored us... the people around us were wondering why he was doing it too... We finally asked the people next to us to get his attention so we could close our tabs. I felt welcomed and excited up until that moment we tried to order from him. None of us will probably come back here. I don't understand why you would do that to a patient and polite customer...

Ara A.

Yelp
Cool locations but they need way more fans or mists machines because the heat was intolerable. Nice inside and outside space with a dance floor and stage for live music.?

Liberty G.

Yelp
I recommend coming here during the week rather than weekend. You will find parking close by and still have a place to sit down and eat and drink, and listen to live music. The place's decorations is creative and circus themed. I ate a burger when I went and it was pretty delicious.

Sarah W.

Yelp
This place had been recommended to us by a friend for the evening we were spending on Rainey Street so we decided to check it out as our first stop of the night. It was a Tuesday night and we arrived around 9. The bar was not crowded, but there was several large groups of people there. The place has a front outdoor section, indoor section, and a back outdoor section. They happened to be playing our university's March Madness basketball game on the big screen on the front patio, so we got a drink and watched the game! I got a mai tai that was delicious. Others also enjoyed their cocktails. The bartenders were friendly and gave recommendations on the cider selections as well when I asked. There was a live musician in the back patio that we enjoyed listening to, we just wish he stayed longer, he left around 10pm. There are many fun things to do here including arcade-style basketball shooting, the slide to get to the backyard, the live music, fun wall magnets, other arcade games, and lots of funky decor! I would love to know what this place is like on a weekend night, so I definitely want to come back here. (visited 3/1/22)

Daniel D.

Yelp
I absolutely love the drinks here. They're really strong and pretty cheap for what you get. And they taste great as well! Service was extremely fast and I was pleasantly surprised by the great ambiance. Will be back!

Jared B.

Yelp
Unbar is a staple of Rainey. However they have the same guy playing live music who plays the same exact songs every time and if I'm getting bored of it. I can't imagine how he feels.

Lauren T.

Yelp
Feeling like a kid again! Circus themed bar that has a DJ or live music. There's a huge slide that you can go down to reach the other half of the bar if you don't want to take the stairs. They have fair/circus food so chicken tenders, hot dogs, funnel cakes, etc. There is a claw machine filled with funny X rated toys.

Reagan N.

Yelp
I honestly had an awesome time here; however, this bouncer is unbelievably rude and needs a serious attitude adjustment. Going in and out I had interactions with him that made my entire girl group wonder what his issue was. Going in I had a full water in my hand and he told me to get rid of my drink. No issue at all but I was trying to explain to him I wasn't going to chug it I just needed a place to throw it away. There was a trash can right on the inside that I was reaching for and he was trying to block me from entering because it was still in my hand. Just unnecessary and If he would've taken 10 seconds to listen to what I was saying it wouldn't have been an issue. It was on the way out that I realized this guy just absolutely sucks. My friends and I were leaving and calling the Uber on the way out. I was quite literally one foot in and one foot out, looked at him and told him to have a good night, and then realized I needed to go to the bathroom before the Uber came. As I turned back around to run back in he STIFF ARMED me and told me if I wanted to go inside I had to wait in line like everyone else. 1. The line was absolutely insane 2. I was still standing in the doorway at this point. I technically hadn't even stepped all the way out. I explained to him the Uber was called and I was just making a bee line to the bathroom and then leaving for good. He smirked at me, told me he didn't remember me being inside, and he wasn't letting me in. Let's point out him physically touching me is the only reason I was completely out of the door at this point. Bouncers are there to keep the peace and make sure everyone feels safe. This guy uses the position to get a power high. I really hope he was just having a bad night and that isn't just his personality. The rest of the staff was super pleasant and the vibe was awesome. If it wasn't for him it would've been a 10/10 experience. There's just no reason to be hateful.

Tama E.

Yelp
Called to ask if the World Cup 2022 qualifying game was on... the manager took his time to call me twice to confirm! Game was put on for me! Greatly appreciate being a Oregon Girl treated so kindly!!

Allyson L.

Yelp
So much fun!! Drinks are amazing!! You can go day or night and have a great time. Loved the live band and DJ

Brooke A.

Yelp
Look. This bar delivers what you want. Chris, Shawn, and Caleb were so welcoming and fantastic. The people you meet are fun and interesting. Any low stars came from angry, grumpy patrons who don't appreciate a good time. Have fun here. You won't regret it.

Mike L.

Yelp
"Is that...a giraffe?" "Yeeeeuuuuup. That would be a giraffe..." Needless to say, a giraffe isn't the typical sort of thing you expect to see on the lawn of a bar. However, as a means to stand out from the pack on Rainey Street, it definitely gets the job done. After all, if not for the giant fake animal standing so prominently out front, we may not have decided to check this place out. What's more, it definitely adds to the whole concept/theme that they've got going on inside! Despite how the line to get in was relatively long, the actual wait time wasn't nearly all that bad (took about 15 minutes to get in?). That said, while things moved along fairly swiftly outside, the same couldn't be said inside - this place was PACKED. Ironically though, as we made our way through the crowd, we actually found more and more space the further towards the back we went. Along the way, it was pretty cool to see the entire place adorned with the whole circus/carnival theme - the colors, the decorations, the slide, the games. Once you get to the very back of Unbarlievable though, there's a bit of an open air space that's pretty chill. There's a bar that's fairly large, but the real appeal is the small little stage that's perfect for solo performances or, as was the case while we were here, a DJ set-up. Since my turn to buy a round never came up while we were here, I can't speak to the drink prices, but it's not surprising to see others mention how drinks are somewhat pricey here. However, the Maker's & Ginger And beers I had were decently made (read: the pour wasn't bad). Since we didn't stay for very long (it was just too crowded for us), I can't really say much else about our overall experience. There's nothing like this back in SF (the crowd reminds me of a cross between the Marina and Polk), the music wasn't bad, and we had an okay time, but, other than our surroundings, not much about our experience was different from the other venues we hit along Rainey. Not bad, all in all, but it might have been more enjoyable had it not been as packed as it was.

Ashley P.

Yelp
Literally the worst fired pickles I've ever had. They handed me a basket or burnt garbage to say the least. The fact I waited for this is an insult. You should be ashamed.

Shelbie P.

Yelp
We came here for some quick drinks. The bartender was very friendly and our drinks were yummy! I got a Bloody Mary and my fiancé got a margarita. We loved the layout of the bar and the back patio area was really cool and fun! They even have a tube slide you can go down, (I'm sure this is fun for all the drunk people.) They also gave us food tickets that you can accumulate to use towards your food which is a nice gesture. Seems like this is a happening spot if you want to hang out and get some food and drinks, I'd come back again!

Wendi Z.

Yelp
I'm so glad we stumbled upon this area in Austin. There's several really cute places on the street but we chose Unbarlievable and glad we did. We ate lunch and it was so delicious! Our servers name was Jace And he really help to turn our day around with his easy-going attitude and awesome personality! We decided to bring her husband back and enjoy your Friday night at this darling little spot in the historical district on Rainey st Street in Austin

Steven H.

Yelp
I've never been to a bar with a lower collective IQ than this bar. It's as if gym sweat became sentient and transformed itself into a bar. This place is a tranquil soliloquy composed of "Bruh", "Bro", "Dude","Gnarly", and other sounds one would expect to hear on an actual "Bro Safari". This place smells like Jäegermeister and Sailor Jerry cologne.

Michael C.

Yelp
An indoor adult slide? Life size giraffes out front? Basketball hoops and alcohol? UNBARLIEVABLE!! Our bartender knew what was what when it came to our Negronis and accepted feedback which is rare in my experience. The slide is what sold me. We must've shot 20 videos going in and upside down. What a blast! I'd suggest going slightly bubbly to get the full effect. In either case I think you'll have a wonderful time with the oddities and rarities of this bar. This is definitely one of the places that helps keep Austin weird! Not so humbly submitted, Michael C.

Alec S.

Yelp
Chill bar to have a drink / beer and food. Also has a slide and some other fun stuff like that.

Lennore R.

Yelp
This place was A-OK because the drinks were kind of pricey and not that strong with a weird crowd and an underwhelming slide. The idea of this place sounded like a blast when it was brought up in a group chat, but it was kind of a dud upon arrival. I think a lot of my experience at a bar depends heavily on music, and this was pretty whack. The best parts were the friendly bartenders and bouncer. We probably had more fun talking to the staff than we did the weird array of trade show people that stopped by... being a little too extra with the group. I saw the rings on those fingers and the way they kept trying to flirt with the bride. Sigh. The drinks were watered down. The fun was a facade: hula hoops randomly, a very wide but short slide, a dildo claw machine, a glitchy arcade basketball game, and dangerous spikes not meant for drunk people on top of the animal figures outside for great photo ops. It's still worth stopping in and seeing what this place is about though...

Virginia G.

Yelp
Chris J makes the best Shirley temples in town. I will also add that there is a gentleman name Omar who does the best janitor work in the bar bizz.

Catherine L.

Yelp
Cool little bar with a slide. It's a great location to visit in the summer only because it has the aesthetic. Butttttt it's also not good to go to in the summer because it was HOTTTTT. It's literally an open house where the main area is the "patio" with the slide that takes you down to the "yard". Definitely a place to come check out with friends and parties. Not much of dancing space but plenty of things and people to look at. The reason this place gets 2 stars is because of the bar staff. Me and two other friends were waiting to order drinks and the bartender ignored us not once, not twice, but three times to people who had just come up to the bar after the people she JUST served had left. Honestly, I hate throwing this out there (especially in a time where it is overly said without context) but me and my friends are POC and the ones she kept taking orders from, were definitely not. So yeah, we definitely felt that this had to do with race and not because it was a simple mistake. It wasn't. It didn't feel like it at all. And it was real defeating to my friends and I so hopefully this staff does better next time.

Tommy H.

Yelp
Easy 5 stars for the water here - so good im gonna go back and drop lustre pearl and bunaglow to 3s. this place on its own level. many self serve water stations throughout the bar. Feel like im in an oasis right now - really will quench your thirst after you hit the slide 30ish times. Be careful though - I felt daring and went down the slide with my water and spilled a little so whoever goes after me may have a wet tush.

Carly B.

Yelp
I waited a long while to get service from this man. My friend ordered two mimosas for us and he offered us used drinks in front of the cash register instead. We were completely shocked, and said no and he looked at my friend and told her to calm down, although she wasn't worked up.. just wanted the mimosas. He poured the bottle and left the foil wrapping in the drink. I asked him what that was and he said "it's just a little foil." Um, ok. I wrote on the receipt that the bartender was rude. I didn't give a tip based on the experience, as we were both feeling so uncomfortable. Once he realized he wasn't getting tipped or something he yelled at us from across the bar and crumbled the receipt and threw it away. He began to tell the other staff members something, pointing at us and laughing. I went to the bar outside to ask if I could speak with a manager about this experience, and the man outside laughed. Didn't ask me what was wrong. All I got from him is that the manager's name is Adrian and I will be contacting him. I live down the street and I will not be returning. The slide is not worth it. Update: bartender who was disrespectful rated my review as "funny" and they charged my account for an incorrect amount.
