The Best Restaurants In Miami Springs - Miami - The Infatuation

"Uncle Hanks’ Hideaway has two different personalities. The dining room is great if you have a small litter of children. Get them mamey ice cream and sit them in the corner of the bright pink room, where they can take turns on the PlayStation. The palapa outside is better for adults who want to watch football, drink beer, and eat chicken wings. There’s a lot of finger food here: nachos, sliders, BLTs. But the menu leans Cuban-American at times, and there’s a whole section of Cuban pizzas and a timba burger with bacon, cream cheese, guava, and potato sticks. There’s a lot going on in that burger, but we really like it. It’s a good time at Hanks, especially when they bring in bands to play on the weekends. Just don’t forget about the kids inside." - Virginia Otazo, Mariana Trabanino

A truly great hideaway! The food is delicious and they are very accommodating for our celiac son I appreciate the care taken. The service was amazing and very attentive. We loved sitting outside enjoying the fans and great atmosphere. The wings were big, juicy and delicious and the sauce was great. We came to celebrate a birthday and the ice cream was delicious. We will be back soon 😊

We recently went for lunch—my wife, our baby girl, and I—and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, no one greeted us or acknowledged us for several minutes, even though the restaurant was completely empty. After about five minutes, someone who seemed to be the chef came out to take our order. We ended up waiting almost two and a half hours for three pizzas, milkshakes, and sodas. We considered leaving, but we chose to stay out of honesty. In the end, one of the pizzas never arrived at all. The pizzas that were given “at no charge” were undercooked and not edible, so after waiting over two hours, we essentially received nothing of value—yet still paid for the rest of the service. On top of that, I still left a 15% tip, even though the experience didn’t come close to what it should have been. The location and the atmosphere are very nice, and that’s why I truly believe this place has potential if management can address these service and quality issues. I hope to see improvements in the future

Great vaca frita burger and bacon cheeseburger! Not to mention the ropa veija Mac and cheese! Nest twist and delicious. New owners and so personable. Our waitress was so kind and patient to our autistic son, which is always a bonus for us. We'll be back to support.

The first time we came the food was excellent. The second time I was EXTREMELY disappointed. We ordered ropa vieja nachos again, and there was barely any ropa vieja and almost no cheese. Who serves nachos with no cheese!! We asked them to put cheese on it and got it replated, only to find a ton of cheese that wasn't even melted!! The chicken sandwich the second time was a major disappointment. The first time it was one of the best I ever had, and it was huge. This time it was noticeably smaller and WAY overcooked!! There was no salt and pepper on the table or napkins(except the silverware roll). I had to get up and get napkins from another table becuse I felt bad asking them for so much. The servers were very nice but seemed a little overwhelmed. I doubt we'll be back.

The food was great. The ropa vieja Mac and cheese was amazing tutu timba burger wow. The nachos were good wish the meat had more flavor. Now the service that really lacked. Unfortunately you can tell she has never been a waitress before. We asked if they had Dr Pepper she said no after looking in the fridge mind you we are looking at the can my daughter had to get up and show her they did. We asked for the appetizer she never came back to take our order we had to call her over because she was to busy on her phone. She never once came back to ask if we needed anything etc then I asked to ketchup she brings me a napkin dispenser then throws a bunch of napkins ontop that was confusing. We asked for dessert half of the stuff was not available. But the bocadito we did order was good you can tell it’s home made wish the had cones for the ice cream

The Mushroom Burger with Swiss and sweet potato fries (my favorite) was out of this world. The service was a bit slow considering it wasn’t that full, but they only have one server. Yet she was great, we were a large party, so it’s not on her. There was live music, very chill vibes. I will definitely return for their ice creams! Since there’s also an ice cream parlor and a beautiful magical back patio, very cozy. It has a Florida Keys feeling. It’s definitely a nice hideaway in Miami Springs, amazing place for brunch. I plan to go back with my daughter and have the burger AGAIN, but need to make room for the ice cream. Thank you, wonderful food, good vibes. Seems like a place in the Florida Keys 🏝️.

Finally! Miami Springs has a new restaurant and it’s amazing! The service was amazing. I had the Tuto’s Timba Burger it was great! My daughter had the steak tacos. I forgot to take a picture she ate it too fast. My son had the chicken and waffles and it looked great! Larger menu on the way! We went back and we had the special French toast it’s was amazing My daughter inhaled it. 😂 the wings were perfect! Garlic parm. Kayli was an amazing waitress ask for her. Saved the bast for last the Cuban ice cream sandwiches were delicious. Cuban pizza is a must !

Google
My fiancé took me here for my birthday because she knew I had my eyes set on a vaca frita dish, so that's what I ordered, I could have not been more satisfied with the delicious taste of my meal, never mind the chicken wings we had for appetizer, they were big and juicy. Everything was delicious and fresh, service was impeccable and the experience one of a kind. In 52 birthdays that I've had and as far as I can remember, this is one of the best eating experiences I've had. Thank you to the staff and the owner Justo for the amazing time. We'll for sure be back soon.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Discovered it during a holiday party. It was a very relaxing vibe with live music, great service, and food was delicious! The Tuto's tumba burger with guava sauce and the ropa vieja Mac n cheese are highly recommended.

Yelp
Hey guys. As you know I always say be your own judge and use your own judgment...so I haven't seen my bestie lil sis in about a month we both been traveling ... we decided to catch up and grab a bite to eat and we had been here before and it was good actually good... So what happed Uncle Hank... time to get the abuela up in here cooking .... food was better when they first opened; today we had the fried biscuits starter they were burnt and overdone... and then we tried the chicken and waffle and the waffle was in the well cooked side... To say the water was honestly the nicest thing is an understatement but a true one.... Get it together Uncle Hanks... I may be back and checking to see if you've improved. ... if your kitchen person is too heavy handed then they shouldn't be cooking .. it reminds me me of that thingy my dad used to say "if it's bad it'll be covered in a butter, sauce or burnt" ... lets not go down that route... Everyone y'all know I say it as I see and taste it ... you be the judge ... peace out be safe

Yelp
I'm going to give this restaurant a *slight* benefit of the doubt because besides servicing normal tables, they also had a private event however they should probably reconsider that strategy future-facing. Let's start off with the positive (of which I wish there were more) the location is very convenient and the restaurant has a nice ambience. The weather probably contributed a little to this but it was a nice outdoor setup and the music was great. Unfortunately that's pretty much where the positives end for me. They should brand themselves as a Cuban pizza restaurant, as that is more than 50% of the menu. There are no entrees, there are appetizers, three types of burgers and a menu full of sides. Okay, fine they're not Cheesecake Factory but on a limited menu I'm going to expect everything to be done well. The wings were probably some of the worst I've had in recent memory. There wasn't any discernible flavor besides chicken and oil. No seasoning whatsoever. I will say, my friend had a burger that she said was good. I wouldn't know, I didn't try it but I'll take her word for it. Let's talk service. The food came out. One. Plate. At. A. Time. And it wasn't a short amount of time between them, by the time the last person got their dish, everyone else had finished their meals. We would ask for something simple (the cilantro sauce mentioned in the menu) and were met with blank stares. After asking for our check, our server charged one of us and then inexplicably left to service another table. I understand that this is a newer establishment and this is why I'm giving the benefit of the doubt, but they have a lot of kinks to work out. I wish them well but I have no intention of returning.

Yelp
My college buddy that lives in Miami Springs chose this location for lunch for us today. This place was originally known as Crackers, then it was known as the Alligator shack. Now it is under new management as Uncle Hank's hideaway. We sat outside in the tiki area in the shade, along with the breeze and the fans it was a pleasant day to enjoy lunch outside. Ampy that waited on us and made recommendations did a great job. What we ordered was delicious, the fried chicken sandwich and we also ordered the fried chicken with avocado. We had a few beers and my buddy from college also ordered the carrot cake, which he said was delicious as he did not share with me. We will be coming back in the near future for lunch here again.

Yelp
Super good environment with inside and outside seating. The menu has a good variety of food including American style food, burgers, Cuban pizza inspired by tio colo a Miami/Hialeah favorite. The deserts were clutch too don't hesitate to pass by and show some love to this family operated local joint.

Yelp
This is the third time we go to Uncle Hanks' Hideaway and each time the food and service is great! Ampi has been our server during all our visits and she has been amazing each time! We usually sit outside since the weather has been nice. But if it's a little hot, they have fans! I'd recommend it if you can. My husband and I will continue to support uncle Hanks'. Oh! And don't forget to try their Tuto's Timba burger. It's amazing!

Yelp
We were the only customers there. It took 30 minutes for an overcooked cheeseburger and grilled chicken sandwich. I was supposed to get the tots and my boss the fries. It was backwards. The cook came by and said he doesn't read the tickets and made a fried chicken first. He realized his mistake and started over again to make the grilled chicken. Looks like fun place for kids as an ice cream and candy store.

Yelp
Greek salad looks great. Boss said chicken was cooked well. Chicken and waffles are on point. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town. Maybe I'll try the deserts too.

Yelp
Came to in to Uncle Hank's for dinner today and let me tell you, it was amazing. I had the chicken wings with a side of fries and by recommendation of my amazing Ampi I had the carrot cake for dessert which is hands down the best one I've ever had. If you're looking for amazing service, with amazing food where they make you feel at home, I highly recommend them. If you do come, make sure to ask for Ampi as your waitress. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We were a party of 25 and Kayli provided exceptional service. The food was outstanding!

Yelp
We had a large party of 8 with 5 kids and the staff were SO patient and kind. We went early and were flying out the next day so wanted something close to our hotel, but good food. It was perfect! Everything came out fresh. three of us got the avocado chicken blt and it was perfect. The kids got pizza (SO good!), chicken fingers, grilled cheese and sliders and all loved them (and they are picky). The staff was patient as we took a long time to find the table we wanted and to order. such a great find- check it out!

Joshua C.

Yelp
Our experience was fantastic there is entertainment for kids, the patio feels and looks great, and the food is delicious. The waitress was really great to work with. This was an incredible hidden gem to find.
