Stall is run by a lovely couple that churns out both white and black version of carrot cake cooked to perfection. You can tell that they have perfect control of the fire from the crispy edges, a hallmark of their cooking. I find that their white version has a stronger umami flavour which isn’t masked by the sweet sauce. The black version was evenly coated with sweet dark sauce, fragrant and savoury without being overly greasy. It’s also a lard-free dish as they are using vegetable oil instead.

Good plate of carrot cake, humble shop owners. $5 plate contains 3 eggs, super protein and carbs altogether. Can ask owner to make more charred if you like.

Black carrot cake — tasty seasoning, but short on char Sweet–savoury notes were there, but the fry was underpowered. The radish-cake pieces were left chunky and a little under-seared, so the plate ate wet and mushy; the only crisp bits came from frilly egg edges.

Boss Lucas, why not approved? Quite a good plate of carrot cake mah. We order a plate of black and a plate of white. And we split it among ourselves and then we got our Ying Yang Carrot cake 🤣 Pricing and taste definitely nothing to complain about. If I’m around. I will come eat it again. But today specially came here to eat this. Just to prove Boss Lucas wrong. Verdict: He is wrong.

Very impressive carrot cake, easily one of my favourite in Singapore. The black carrot cake is super tasty with a lot of egg and crispy bits. In fact, the stall readily offers portions with double egg and triple egg. Highly recommended!

Very nice owners that attended to my order. We chit chat and reviews on recent "bad" experience that a customer "disapprove" their food serving and standards. - I went specially there to support the stall and owners and told them the confidence of all customers will be on their side. Don't let such "bad" comment by "bad" person affect their biz. Continue to excel and prosper their biz. Food wise is good and very generous serving portion. Pricing is very affordable and clearly display, owner still would explain the pricing and ask what I need and options available. Though not the best, I would rate 8/10 as it was really tasty and far above average. Very good customer service experience and certainly will come again many times. Keep up & excel 👍👍👍

19 Oct ‘25 Sure best in town. $4. Nice. Def come again. Not too crunchy and oily and not too soft and mushy. A bit on the salty side. Got Paynow. It’s on the corner and on the back side near block 124A, if ur looking for it.

A fragrant and very well done plate of char kway. Recommended to go for the black version, where the sauce and kway are fried to near perfection with the caramelised sauce on the pieces of kway. The egg in the dish were fried to perfection, not runny, not dry, but perfectly soft, contrasting from the solid kway and radish bits. Be careful about chilli option as it can pack quite a punch. Will be back for the white option the next time.
