Google
Really good fish fry Fridays. I ordered the perch, but they also had other options like pike , walleye, cod and shrimp. It was a GOOD serving size (and some). Good onion rings, bread, coleslaw. Highly recommend. Also, some reviews say they only accept cash, they are now accepting credit cards as well. My partner got chicken tenders and he also enjoyed his meal. The chicken was really soft and the breading was good. He ordered his meal with fries, these were a little bland. The service tho? Excellent. I wish I remembered the name of the person that served me - she was really sweet and checked in with us several times. The place was full, and like many reviews mention, it will take a bit for you to get the order, so don't come with a rush. Sit back and enjoy a drink while your meal is prepared. It will be worth it. Now, this is a tavern, so don't expect the place to be a quiet spot to eat. It is loud and echoey.... Like any tavern would be.

Google
Quaint German tavern. Easy to locate. Service was great, bartender was very friendly. The sweet corn bites were delicious. Great, comfortable atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating available. Parking available on the street.

Google
Great place! Great food Great bartenders. Lovely outdoor space. Now they also take debit and credit cards which is great, what could I use the word great anymore?.

Google
What a great place to hang out and eat! Fantastic fish fry on Friday's with hand breaded shrimp too and wonderful sides. They also make the best housemade fried cheese curds I've ever had. The burgers and broaster chicken are wonderful. I haven't had anything bad from the menu yet. The live music is always awesome, and the service is friendly and excellent.

Google
Fish Fry is great. Nice crispy onion rings. Servers are awesome. The kitchen seems to get backed up. It took a long time to get our food after our order was placed. A super nice patio with luve music definitely helps pass the waiting time for your order. Street parking and clean restrooms.

Google
I enjoyed the 3 piece prime cut cod for dinner with baked potato. It was all very good. They serve local Cardinali’s Italian bread with your meal that is soft and fresh. Love the vibe of this place. Wait staff is always friendly. Went back for the 1/2 price chicken dinner on Wednesday nights. It was good but I sure did love the slaw. I even got a slice of the coconut cream pie for dessert which was out of this world delicious. I may have took a bite of the pie before taking the photo as I couldn’t wait 😋

Google
We are visiting from out of state and wanted a good Friday Fish Fry .... We picked right! Amazing Walleye and perch (I'm sure the cod was fabulous too but we didn't have any) - the staff and service was awesome!! Also enjoyed a couple drinks from the bar

Google
Fish Fry's and live music on Fridays are always nice. Bartenders are nice best one in my opinion has to be "Jordan" but the wait staff is all friendly. Great local bar!

Yelp
Went with a friend for Friday fish fry. They were incredibly busy so it took a while for our food to reach us and there was some confusion with our apps. I'm a fried pickleofile so was thrilled they were on the menu. They turned out to be overly salty slices. But the batter fried cheese curds were delicious! Friend debated on 2 or 3 pieces of fish. Went with 3 and the pieces were huge! Overall a good experience, but be prepared on a Friday to have a few beverages while waiting for your food to be served.

Yelp
Well-tended full bar with plenty of beer choices, great scratch kitchen, and live music Thu-Sat. That's really all you need in a tavern.

Yelp
Kind of an odd spot. The place is a mix between a bar and a house. We got seated in the back patio or what they're calling the beer garden. Our family loves this place and frequents it quite a bit so we figured we would give it a try. The service was great but you could tell it was getting tougher as more tables filled up for dinner. We couldn't get split checks and they only take cash. That's probably my biggest gripe as we don't normally carry much cash. Plus, you don't know how much drinks cost so it's tough to budget the night accordingly. Beers we ordered turned out to be $5-6/each so not bad. But, the hacker pschorr tasted a little funky. We liked the live music and vibe quite a bit. Food was good but not great. They only serve fish fry on Fridays. All in all, I'd probably come for dinner on a non Friday now that I know what to expect. Definitely recommend the patio.

Yelp
Friday night fish fry is pretty good. Would definitely go there again. You have good bands there occasionally.

Yelp
It has been hit or miss with this place. I haven't been fortunate enough to try the Friday fish fry. Breakfast was decent but multiple times for dinner it is barely just okay. The "deep fried ribs" are strange, but not horrible. The Chicken that is with the Ribs combo was awful. Zero flavoring. I'm not sure it was even breaded. Just a plain chicken piece deep fried. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes and may have been good had they not been stone cold and coagulated. The spotted cow ... was NOT spotted cow. They use a very strange Worcestershire in their Bloody Mary that makes it nearly undrinkable. The Brandy Old Fashioned sweet was absolutely perfect. The music is typically very nice. This is definitely a place to come sit at the bar, have a beer, listen to tunes. NOT recommended for a night out to eat.

Yelp
So the atmosphere is just cool. Small place so it can get loud. The chicken was awesome!!! And our waitress Maddie was the best I ever had in a long time--friendly and very attentive. This was my second time here but I need to come back for their specials! Excellent food. Dessert is homemade. Tonight was key lime pie or death by chocolate cheesecake. But I had to pass. Next time.

Kristi R.

Yelp
Our first time there. Fried Cod was delicious along with the whole meal and drinks. Service was exceptional.

Yelp
I stoped in here as they were a runner up for the best Bloody in Kenosha County. You can rate the bloody two ways- one is how much you can add by way of accessories and the other is the drink itself. I believe the voters missed the mark with this establishment not taking first. As long as the drink comes with a chaser, and has olives The garnish is sufficient for me. This one has a row of bite size pickled offerings including a mushroom, a pepperocini, a Brussels sprout, a few olives, both a lemon and lime wedge and a sliver of a slice pickle. The drink itself has a touch of peppery heat blended in with a very tasty mixture of a rail vodka and mix. This along with a chaser made for a perfect Bloody Mary! The rim is slightly seasoned as well. Walking into a neighborhood bar you never know what type greeting you will receive, but I was welcomed and enjoyed my stop. Worth a visit even if the bloody isn't on your radar!

Yelp
Food is good and very reasonably priced . I've only gone on Friday evenings and they have Friday Fish Fry. I've sat outside and there was live music . It's a fun lively atmosphere. The service is excellent.

Yelp
Oh my gosh. I knew of this local tap for years. I realized I didn't know much about it though. I was surprised to find a bright and cheerful bar, cute dining room and secret backyard patio. Set on Union Park, this quiet little spot is a best kept secret. I was expecting a dark hole in the bar corner bar. What I found was a great spot with fantastic service and delicious brunch. I met my friend there and she surprised me with her doggie. I love that the patio is dog friendly. There are big trees for shade and several seating areas. We had brunch at a picnic table under a big tree. I loved my veggie omelet and homemade toast. My friends had a Greek panini and the Breakfast Special. I had a Mimosa and they had Bloody Marys. What a wonderful Sunday get together. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Such a cute little place. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but you walk into a cute horseshoe shaped bar. Once getting past the bar it opens out into a beautiful outdoor patio with lots of tables and umbrellas and trees. Bird houses in the trees brought beautiful little birds around. We had a great little waitress outdoors. Prices were great, my spinach Panini was a bit lacking. Kind of a doughy thing Filled with frozen spinach instead of fresh. The bloody Mary was awesome.

Yelp
Not your normal bar food. Definitely recommend you give it a try. Some friends of ours told us about it and we were glad we went. They did not disappoint.

Yelp
This afternoon I visited Union Park Tavern in Kenosha for the first time; I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Upon arriving, I observed several couples entering the bar and wondered if we might be too late for a table; we had left early for the fish fry. Thankfully, we were shown to a table in the bar; it was a bit noisy but really just bar chatter and the interior is very old and quaint and charming. But, one does not patronise Union Park Tavern for the décor. Our waitress Peggy took very good care of us; she brought us drinks immediately and took our orders, recommending several dishes that she had also tried and enjoyed. We both ordered the walleye and it arrived very quickly with a side of potato wedges, coleslaw and bread. Let's talk about the walleye. OH. MY. GOD! I have NEVER had such good walleye in my life! HOT DIGGITY DOG! Look at me, writing in capital letters on Yelp! The portion I received was enormous; I really thought I might not be able to finish it. But, I must tell you: I polished it off with no trouble at all. The walleye was tender, flaky, and beautifully prepared; I can't remember a walleye dinner this memorable. Peggy recommended a Hacker-Pschorr and I am grateful for her suggestion; it paired perfectly with the walleye. NB Union Park Tavern does not accept credit cards (cash only) so be prepared; I think there is an ATM somewhere about. Union Park Tavern is a terrific bar/café; I will definitely return!

C E J.

Yelp
not a very group friendly place. Absolutely will not accept reservations, even with the opportunity the place can make the money large groups can bring. A very good New Orleans jazz band plays there periodically and unfortunately we won't be going to see them the way we were treated asking if they would accomodate 9 of us. The food is mediocre at best C ya Union Park......

Yelp
Having never been here we didn't know what to expect. The Bloody Mary was spicy (a good thing) and had a good flavor to it. The Hofbrau chaser was perfect. We ordered the German Breakfast special (not sure what it was actually called), it was a potato pancake with a split German style bratwurst on top of it covered in sausage gravy with two eggs on top. We also ordered a 2 eggs, hash brown, and bacon breakfast and a half order of biscuits and gravy. The German breakfast was amazing. I didn't add any seasoning to it because it already had a ton of flavor. The sausage gravy was on of the best I have had in a while. It was hearty with a solid pepper flavor (which I like). The bratwurst with the potato pancake, eggs, and that gravy made a perfect medley of flavor to make this an amazing dish. The 2 eggs were great, the bacon was crisped just right, and the hash browns were crispy and amazing. The biscuits and gravy were exactly what we had come to expect from the kitchen. Fluffy amazing biscuits covered by a great sausage gravy. We also tried out a mimosa before calling it a meal and even that was better than most we have had in a long time. All in, you can't go wrong having a meal here. The service was fast and friendly, the food was amazing, the ambiance was a rustic homey feel, and the drinks were even great. It is rare you can walk into a place and love everything you tried, but that was wholly our experience when we walked into Union Park Tavern on a Sunday morning. Sorry for the lack of photos, but the food was way too good to stop and think of taking a picture. When I go back I will update the review with pics.

Yelp
Haven't been here for a while. Went on a rather slow Sunday night. My wife had chicken fingers, which she usually doesn't order, however, they were homemade and very good. I had the pork schnitzel sandwich. It was huge, and delicious. I was only able the the pork that hungover the bun. Delicious. I brought home the entire bun and enough pork for a big sandwich for lunch. Look at the picture. The little tiny thin with the tomato is the bun. The rest is pork schnitzel. Great.

Julie T.

Yelp
What a fantastic place for lunch! The BLT was delicious. Very friendly and helpful service.

Yelp
Had an absolute blast at the fish fry here. You walk in and the place is a very small local bar. That being said though, we were greeted immediately, invited to order a drink at the bar while we waited for the a table and then lead out to the patio by a very friendly waitress. The drink prices were insanely cheap, I couldn't believe when I got my tab. We go outside and the entire patio is alive. I mean, the energy was awesome. The ambiance was inviting and romantic with string lights everywhere. Lots of open space. They had live up tempo jazz band and our little girls just danced the night away. Two "off-duty" waitresses that were just hanging out for the music ended up dancing with our daughters for several songs and they just had an absolute blast. I can't overstate how friendly the team was here. We felt like we were welcomed into a friend's house. I ended up asking to speak with the owner, which I NEVER do, and complimented her on her staff. The fish fry was absolutely fantastic. I mean it! This is the fish fry bar for me, the one I compare all the other fish fry I try to.

Diane B.

Yelp
I like this bar and we will come back again and I've had a good meal or two here. With the fish fry ... Beware, although the flavors on the breading are good, the quality of the cod loin is horrible or it was when I was there. Fish should be flaky not chewy. Didn't like the coleslaw at all either tasted all of preservative.

Nancy L.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great Friday fish fry or hot beef sandwich, Union Park is the place. Service with a smile even on their busiest nights. And if you like live music they have that too. During the summer you can have it all while relaxing outside on the patio.

Yelp
Had curbside pick up this morning. My husband ordered each of us a Bloody Mary, he also ordered us a bacon and egg biscuit and banana stuffed French toast to split. I loved the concept of the to go bloody Mary's with fixings. The banana made the French toast a little too mushy for me but the flavor concept was there. The homemade biscuit from the sandwich was very good and the bacon was cooked perfectly for my liking. We both agreed we would love to order curbside again during lunch/dinner. #supportlocal

Yelp
I went with a friend for fish and chips for St. Patty's day because we heard the fish fry was one of the best in Kenosha. We were so disappointed. The batter was terrible and tasteless. Everyone knows you salt fried food right after the food comes out of the fryer. The chef must have forgotten or run out of salt. The tartare sauce was way too sweet. Even the French fries were terrible. The worst thing about our dinner was the "hostess." She used a bullhorn to call out the names of people to be seated. It was obnoxious and painful to our ears. I would highly recommend you go elsewhere for fish fry.

Yelp
Good food but atmosphere is very much a hometown bar. Not a traditional restaurant feel but friendly and efficient service, even if the seating is a little different.

Yelp
5 star fish fry but for the love of God make the potato pancakes a regular option please and thank you

Yelp
Asked for a double and got a single pour and got changed as double. Avoid the guy and got charged more

Yelp
We really wanted to enjoy our fish fry at Union Park. The food, when we finally got it, was excellent. Unfortunately the excessive wait spoiled it for us. We arrived a little after 6:00 and waited until about 6:30 to be seated. We ordered promptly, then waited, and waited, and waited. The couple next to us gave up and left after about 45 minutes. Our server said our food would be up soon. Fifteen minutes later it still had not come. Finally, an hour after we put in our order, the food was finally served. We had 25 minutes to eat and get to our 8 p.m. show. We were seated in sight of the kitchen and saw the line up of tickets in front of the seemingly unrushed kitchen staff. We also saw a half dozen servers mostly standing around waiting for orders to come out. I can only assume that the kitchen is not up to serving a full house and the substantial number takeout orders at the same time. We've enjoyed past visits to the bar. It's got a nice atmosphere and good food. However, I think we'll stay away until they solve their capacity problem. At least we won't go if we've got any place to be afterwards.

Kristine B.

Yelp
The owner ben asked me to leave as I was sitting all by myself eating food and drinking. His reason was because a couple years earlier my ex husband was making a scene. I went for karaoke this night. I just lost everything I invested in and needed a night to relax. That is how someone down on their luck gets treated at UPT He said I was disruptive And making people uncomfortable. I was sitting at a table all by myself eating and getting ready to sing a song at karaoke Well I was actually going to go there on Tuesdays for trivia and karaoke but no more. What hurts the most is they know I just lost tg's and got a divorce. It's all out there. And to be that way is quite cold. How do you run a business like that? People don't understand how hurtful they can be. Emotional people that are going through a lot of turmoil need positivity in their life not negativity. Then they go I didn't see it coming when someone takes their life. When it was probably that person who did the one last thing to put the person over the edge. I'm not over the edge but damn it that hurt deeply. It really is affecting me If I would have known I was going to be treated like this I would have went to capt mikes tonight. They had bingo and Charlie was the host and he doesn't judge

Christy D.

Yelp
Good atmosphere. Good food. Good drinks. Great patio! Had a smallish gathering here with some friends and family in the afternoon on the patio! Was great! Waitress very helpful and nice.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try the fish fry here for a while because it is supposed to be the best. The prices are reasonable, the restaurant is divided from the bar, and the onion rings are outstanding. If you love a good fish fry come here but the fish is a little small so stick with the bigger portion size. I am only a little disappointed that they ran out of the potato of the week; otherwise, no complaints.

Steve O.

Yelp
Best fish fry in town on Fridays. Cool local place. Great staff and good food selection.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
So not worth the wait. I really wanted a fish fry and based on the reviews, I thought this would be a good place. If I could give it no stars I would. The stars are only for the bartender who was quick and responsive. The waitstaff was okay but with no food to bring out, there was a lot of standing around. The problem was the size of the kitchen. It is really tiny and couldn't handle the output. When your entire menu is fried, you should be able to get food out efficiently. How was this voted the best Fish Fry in Kenosha? We got there at 7:00 on a Friday. We expected to have to wait for a while but was told the wait would be only 15 minutes. Great I thought. 50 minutes later we are seated at our table. That was to be expected. Ten minutes after that our waitress came and took our order. We ordered appetizers, onion rings and mozzarella sticks, and our meal. We received our appetizers after 45 minutes. At 9:10 we received our food. The size of the fish fillets was absurd. There were three pieces that were about the size of 1.5 mozzarella sticks. My potato wedges were just slightly undercooked. The other two people in the party ordered shrimp and fries. They were okay. Nothing special. We got the food to go after that because we wanted to get the heck out of there.

P L.

Yelp
Slow service. Bartenders are rude, and food is just average. Not a place I would return to.
google avatar

Carly J.

Yelp
I do not recommend the curb side service. I called in an order at 5:00 pm and I was told an hour. I got there at 6:00 and did not get my food until 7:20 pm! I know they are busy and are trying, but after waiting so long it seemed to me if they know you you will get your food right away. Also people were leaving their vehicles and hanging around the back door as if their order was more important than the others waiting. I will never do this again and will share this with others.

Yelp
The perch was excellent, would highly recommend this establishment. It is off the expressway but worth the drive.

Rich D.

Yelp
one of the top taverns in Kenosha, food is excellent, great entertainment, a must for fish fry

Marilyn E.

Yelp
It must have been an off night for the cook...There were six of us. We all ordered a selection of fish with one ordering the chicken nuggets. The baked Cod and it was so over cooked totally dried out .. uneatable. Had to send it back. Folks who ordered the perch got two pieces that were really good....others were way over cooked. The walleye was the best. The French fries were half cooked. but the warm German potato salad was really good. Chicken nuggets were also over cooked and dried out. The coleslaw was good. Drinks are reasonable and the wait staff are friendly. Sadly we will not give it another try.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
I've been here several times for breakfast this year and I love the pancakes. Nice atmosphere in the outdoor garden.

Noneya O.

Yelp
We called in our fish fry order on a Friday at about 5:30 pm. It was a pretty simple straightforward order. 3 fried fish dinners and a side of onion rings. We live about 2 miles away. ordering and pickup ; the order was sitting on the counter when we got there, the place was packed, as any decent place in Wisconsin on a Friday night would be. That being said..... we still had to wait to pick up our order, the girl that was handling this part of the business was on the phone for awhile. By the time we got home with the food, it was cold enough that the grease was starting to get nasty. Luckily we had an air fryer to re-crisp and reheat it. The baked potatoes were the only thing that was hot enough to eat with out re-heating. Each potato had 1 pat of butter and 1 tube of sour cream. I don't know, I would sort of think that for a place that charges $50.00 dollars for 3 dinners, ( no beverages ) they might be able to serve hot food that doesn't need to be re-cooked and enough butter that you don't need to subsidize it with your own products. I would like to meet the people who voted this place the best fish fry in Kenosha so many years in a row, and school them on the difference between " great food " and " not worth your money "
google avatar

Judy M.

Yelp
Enjoyed sitting at the bar while social distancing. Their walleye pike was great. Next time I want to sit outside and enjoy the entertainment. Their biergaerden is very nice.

Alisha K.

Yelp
Really awesome little town bar and a 'everyone knows your name' vibe. Fish fry was recommended and absolutely delicious. Our waitress, Bridget was awesome and kept the drinks coming. Get the frickles if you like fried food and pickles. Can't wait to make this a regular spot in our new town.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Great fish fry on Friday nights but go early if you can because this place gets packed rather quickly. The reason is the fish. It is excellent! I had the 2 piece combo of cod & shrimp with cole slaw and backed potato and thick piece of CardinalI's Italian bread. My husband had the 2 piece cod with fries cole slaw and bread. SO very good! Grace was our server and she was super attentive and friendly. The fish and shrimp were perfectly cooked and not greasy. Generous portion size too. The cole slaw was a good mix of sweet and sour and crunchy and seemed homemade. All in all a great meal! Definitely if you get a chance to check this place out do it! In my opinion it is the best fish fry in Kenosha just wish the place was bigger and it wasn't so crowded!!

Yelp
Went last night for the fish fry. There was a 35 minute wait when we arrived, but we stuck it out and didn't regret it. The wait went by fast, watching the action in the small room was entertaining. The wait list was handled efficiently, and the hostess was very attentive and reassuring to those of us waiting. Once we were seated, our server immediately greeted us and offered us drinks. She alerted us that the kitchen was quite a bit behind. We ordered right away. She checked on us multiple times while we waited. She even brought us 'apology bread' after a bit. Apology bread is delicious! We enjoyed our sweet corn bites and fried mushrooms that came before our fish. The fish (we had cod) was delicious! Done just right and not at all greasy. We both had the mojos-- they weren't anything exciting, but we might have been overfull from our apps. The service with a smile and great food MORE than made up for the wait. Well trained staff who love what they do can really put a place over the top. Well done, Petes!

Yelp
I have since been back to the UPT many times. Angie and the staff are quite amazing. I haven't had much food other than breakfast due to my diet restrictions, but I'll tell ya the bacon is awesome. Lol. The live music they have is usually super fun. Me and my wife have not only found a place that we enjoy going to but also a place where we have always felt welcome.
google avatar

Dan K.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this bar is! Large drink menu, friendly bar staff, and had a great karaoke set going when we were there. Several regulars at the bar, all very friendly. The inside is nicer than the outside suggests.
google avatar

Kerry S.

Yelp
One of Kenosha's top neighborhood bars. Small, but cozy with a great outdoor beer garden. The staff is great. Good tavern food, simple, tasty, and well prepared. Some of the best and most varied live music in town. Cajun, bluegrass, blues, gypsy jazz, folk, rock, and an Irish jam on occasion.
google avatar

Steven S.

Yelp
New owners have changed. Still a friendly place but food definitely changed. My wife said to say I am disappointed. Mojos are now just seasoned fries, smaller portions at higher cost.
google avatar

Al B.

Yelp
Had to stop by Pete's Place on Saturday for the fried chicken! I'm so glad we did. The chicken was delicious, cooked to perfection. The batter they use must be something special. It was crispy and flavorful, loved it. Everything was fresh and tasty! We also had some mojos which were also perfect. The cole slaw was great. Saved some room for the home made blueberry pie and whipped cream and boy was that good. Pete's Place may not look like much from the outside but I am happy to report that Pete's Place really blew me away and exceeded all of my expectations. There's a huge outdoor area in the back where you can have dinner and see live entertainment too. I'm really looking forward to my next visit next time I'm in Kenosha.
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
I'm a student at Carthage and a friend came to visit that wanted to go somewhere with a fish fry. We decided on Pete's Place after reading some other reviews, and we are so glad we did! We called ahead for carry out and the food was ready within 15 minutes. It was hot and delicious and I will definitely be eating here again.

Yelp
Not sure what all the hubbub is about. The food is fine. It's definitely not the "best fish I've ever had" as I hear people say. Nothing terribly wrong with it, but just okay. $13 for 3 pieces of under seasoned cod the size of an average mozzarella stick is an average rating at best.
