Located in Ukrainian Village, Unique Omakase combines tradition with modern flair in a cozy setting, serving 16 exquisite courses of expertly sourced sushi.
"From Tasmanian trout nigiri to big eye tuna rolls, the fish at Sushi Dojo is fantastic. The only reason we provide a caveat when recommending this East Village spot is some people are more enthusiastic than others about the prospect of top-40 songs blasting from the speakers while they eat uni rolled up in seared toro as part of a $98 omakase at a chef’s counter. But since DJ responsibilities are on you when you order delivery, and you can choose between various omakase, combo sets, and a la carte options, no caveats are necessary." - matt tervooren
"All the omakase options at this East Village sushi place are $20 off on your usual online delivery platforms (plus you can order a la carte)." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim, arden shore, matt tervooren
"Sushi Dojo is a little pricier than your average neighborhood sushi spot, but the sushi here is also good enough to make you consider spending the majority of your money on raw fish." - team infatuation
"Of all the restaurants in the East Village, Uminoie might be the one that feels the most like someone’s home. It’s a long, narrow space in the bottom of an apartment building on 4th Street, the menus are handwritten and taped together like summer camp arts and crafts projects, and all the food comes out of a tiny kitchen located directly behind the bar. The menu is pretty small, but expect things like monkfish liver in ponzu, an eel omelette, and massive chunks of pork belly in a rich, salty broth. And be sure to drink some sake or shochu with whatever you order." - bryan kim
"On the one hand, you want something delicious, but on the other, you don’t want to feel like sh*t when you wake up in a few hours. Rather than sacrifice your morning, or worse, your late-night meal, order sushi from Sushi Dojo in the East Village. Everything from individual pieces of nigiri to 15-piece omakase boxes are available for delivery until 11pm daily." - matt tervooren
