The 19 Best Restaurants in Lagos, Nigeria | Eater

"Suya is a popular barbecued chicken or beef usually grilled over an open fire and served with a northern spice mixture, yajichurri, lots of onions, and sometimes a helping of cabbage or some other vegetables. If you ever find suya being prepared or served before the sun goes down, please — I cannot stress this enough — do not buy it. It’s an adage that suya tastes best after day is done, and that the best ones are prepared and sold under the cover of night. This acclaimed university, named to attract foodies, on Allen Avenue in Ikeja attracts long lines most nights for its famed suya — best washed down with a cold drink of your choice, or milk to temper the spice. This is my second time going here since 2020, The suya is delicious as usual and plenty but nothing really has changed. You’d still have queue for a very long time, and the heat you feel as you get closer to your turn is really terrible, everyone of us was literally sweating and we had to use their flyer to fan ourselves. Liver also gets sold out really fast. Also has enough parking space as it’s by the roadside. Wheelchair accessible as well, I definitely will be coming back for more

The place was fine although the crowd was much. But you see the suya?? Not nice at all. Meat is so hard, not soft at all. I bought every type of meat except tozo because it wasn’t available at the time. But the rest felt so hard to chew

It was okay. Their suya was freshly made. I think I like the special suya.

Won’t lie, they have a variety of meats and they grill it to perfection. Tender, juicy , and spicy for those who can handle the pepper like moi. God check it out .

Yes, this is the famous University of Suya aka. Faculty of Meatology and the Allen Campus that never sleeps. You can get suya here 24/7. There is wheel chair accessible parking which is very limited. The Entrance has a small wheel chair ramp. The suya here is famous but expensive! I believe each skewer of suya is between N300-N500 upwards. Yes o! Their suya is for Big Boyz and Girls! If you're looking for N100 suya, well I daresay that will probably buy you the empty skewer stick. Their suya spice too is on point! Sometimes, their maybe a queue depending on whether it is peak period or not. It's been awhile since I've been here. On the last occasion, they only accepted cash. But who knows, maybe they've upgraded to POS systems but I sincerely doubt it. So make sure u have cash in hand, otherwise u may start a new Jihad war over suya....lolzz.
