It's an a great place to go to an event. It's large enough to have a good crowd but small enough to feel personal

Bettina Buval

Google
Lots of food for everyone. Over 40 food vendors. A market place, family sections, food demonstrations and cultural speakers were great attractions for locals and out of towners. There were also VIP tents with Crown Royal, Beer, champagne, and margaritas. Charities also staffed beverage booths to make money for their organizations. Lots of security, designated ride sharing, free public parking, and outstanding musical line up.

Google
We went to attend the Paw Patrol live event. Arrived and I liked the parking assistance provided. Getting into the event was easy and a few food items were sold. They started right on time and the show was great.

Google
Horrible security guards... Took signs away for no reason what so ever. Said we are not allowed signs but they easily had over 10 in the section. Guard smelled like weed and was arrogant and snudy.

Google
What can I say...Billy mfn Strings blew the roof off of this place all 3 nights. Sat right behind the sound board and the sound was incredible. Staff was very accommodating and getting in and out was a breeze. Billy please make this an annual tradition!!

Google
Beautiful place! Perfect for concerts. All that is needed is a revolving stage & and more people to work concessions. Lines were very long.

Google
We had a wonderful time seeing the Fantasia/Joe concert. The venue is older but is still a great place to host. The ramp getting to the balcony was tough for some but we liked the exercise.

Yelp
I took my kids to watch Paw Patrol Live and didn't have any issues. Parking was easy to find and get into, they had people there directing where to park. There was security to pass and then we were off to scan our access tickets. A few options were offered for snacks and drink. Oh and don't forget keepsakes for the kids! The show started time and the kids really enjoyed it. If they had another show, I would attend it.

Yelp
We had 3 different sets of seats for three nights of Billy Strings over New Year's Eve weekend. Everyone we talked to agreed there wasn't a bad seat in the house (for that event, at least). Seating is a little snug, but that wasn't too much of an issue for us. Concessions staff and security were friendly and helpful. It was a fantastic time. We used rideshare to and from the venue without much of a hassle. It does get a little messy, just have your wits about ya and you'll be fine lol.

Yelp
Wife treated me to a nice romantic RnB music at UNO. I really enjoyed myself lol. I was singing and recording at the same time. Sound check was good the entertainer was hilarious . We enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
A nice venue for Concerts .. security is weak ? Concessions are extremely slow and they have a tendency to fall short when they are needed at curtain times!

Yelp
I attended a college basketball game at the UNO Lakefront Arena and was impressed by several things: 1) there was signage in the area that provided directions to the parking, 2) parking was free, and 3) they checked vaccination status. Although masks were required and enforced at the door, no one cared once we got in the actual arena. When the boys' game started, I had to move to a seat at the top to avoid the large maskless crowd. This is a nice arena and I'd love to attend another event here, but hope they can do better on enforcing masks.

Yelp
First live show in the UNO Lakefront Arena. Drove in from San Antonio to see The 1975 in New Orleans. Parking is only $10 which i felt is really good compared to other venues. Getting in was easy but leaving was a different story. It took a good while before actually getting in an organized line to exit. They had a good amount of consession stands. Lines weren't long at all. I loved the venue. It's one of those that you will have a good view from anywhere you sit. Sound and lighting were good and they have the two large screens on both sides of the stage to get close ups. The only complaint if any that i have is that i noticed a lot of people were in the wrong seats. They kept switcing around when the original ticket holders would show up. There weren't too many workers actually keeping an eye on that. Would definitely see another live show at this venue.

Yelp
The lines for alcohol are outrageously long and slow, getting in was a mismanaged mess, and getting a cab out of there is hilariously difficult. But it was Halloween! And I saw a great band! I had a good time but yeah, there's room for improvement. It was frigid that night, lows were in the 40's and everyone was shivering in their costumes. We waited for about 20 minutes on a long line only to be told to "go around". Well around and around we go but there are no signs, no people, nothing indicating where "around" is. It's dark and desolate and did I mention freezing? We randomly started following some people up what looked like a parking ramp and other lost people started following us, and luckily this was the right entryway. Lines for alcohol took the entire intermission, and were for the most part just as long even when the band was playing. They open up the beer cans for you so it's hard to order more than one at once too, but there is a way around this if you're savvy. They opened up a cash only bar to speed things up but that line was often just as long as the credit line. Bartenders were struggling but trying to be cheerful. Bathroom lines were also long but women were in good spirits and kept things moving. It's easy to smoke if you need to, outside every seating section is the alcohol and right outside of that is an exit so you always have access to fresh air. I liked the layout. And inside there were very few bad seats. We had general admission tickets so were standing pretty far up top anyway but had great views and the crowd was friendly so it was easy to maneuver around. There was no security I could see in the performance space itself though, given the size of the venue and crowd I would have expected it. The cab situation has been written about extensively, and it's just as bad as people say. We actually walked quite a ways a way from the venue, I'm not sure how long, but throngs of people were doing the same. Chaos. We made friends with some people who had already nailed down a cab and decided to just go where they went and it ended up being an excellent choice, but people all around us were having cabs cancel on them, or not be able to find them, all drunk and freezing.

Yelp
This is going to be a two tiered review, so strap in. Tier one: Parking- Hey, what is UNO doing with the money they charge to park in their mud/grass lot? I know what they aren't doing. They aren't putting down concrete, so that I don't have to walk in wet grass and across a shell lot in nice heels. I was here for the Harry Connick Jr. show, and naturally, I "brought it". When I "bring it", this usually includes a nice dress and high heels. After waiting in an INSANE and poorly directed line to get into the lot, we were instructed to park in damp, muddy grass. The great irony in all of this is the painstaking lengths I go to to avoid muddy grass in my everyday life. I will walk half a mile around something, even if cutting through muddy grass is a short cut. Then I had to walk across this uneven shell lot, that was probably put down in 1983, and has barely been maintained since. I won't even get into having to walk up a windy ramp in heels, because then I'll just sound like a complainer. Seriously, take some of that $10 per car y'all charge to park and lay down some cement. The high heels of the world will thank you. Tier two: The show itself- After we got in and found our seats, the show was really good. I was impressed with the entire space, the sound quality was great and, although the seating area was a bit cramped, it was tolerable for a few hours. I had a good view of the stage from my seat and we had a good time. The only misstep I could find was when Harry gave a shout out to his 92 year old father in the audience, and the spotlight guy couldn't find him, even though he was standing and waving. Jeesh. I know that UNO Lakefront Arena is mainly a setting for sports and graduations, and I'm not completely sure I'd attend a concert here again. If I do, I'm getting there stupid early so that I don't have to teeter across shells in heels.

Tu L.

Yelp
This arena is the stupidest arena. U enter for a graduation to drop off family member but there's no exit!!! U are basically stuck inside until they finish letting everyone in to park!! Really really stupid!
google avatar

Shirley N.

Yelp
This is more about the rideshare drop & pick up area than about the venue itself. We took a rideshare to the arena. No problem. A sandwich board display where the drop off was. Piece of cake. After the Harry Connick Jr. concert, it was a different story. It was a zoo. It was a challenge to locate your rideshare due to the cross traffic of people attempting to drive out of the parking lot. Same pick up area as the drop off, but the cross traffic made it a nightmare. The arena needs to do a better job as rideshare isn't going away.

Yelp
We had a family night out for the 1975 concert at the UNO Lakefront Arena. I love how easy parking is compared to other venues in the city. The venue itself had a number of concessions stands and was fully staffed. Our seats were pretty awesome and the sound quality, light effects and screen projectors were amazing. I'm spoiled now to this venue and the ease of getting in and out and navigating inside the venue. I'd definitely recommend catching a live concert here! The 1975 were awesome!

Yelp
This is where I graduated from college at the University of New Orleans (UNO) in the fall of 2014. I am a bit biased because I was an adult student and worked hard to get my bachelor's degree. Not that all students don't work hard. The only thing I have been here for is my own graduation, several other graduations for friends and most recently for my nephew. The interior is HUGE. If you are a spectator here, the only entrance that I am aware of is a series of about 6 steep ramps to go up. I am unaware if there is anything more easily accessible. The restrooms are all neat, clean and well stocked. Many concerts, events and shows are held here. From what I understand, there is a swimming pool somewhere within the depths. There are locker rooms for the UNO basketball team in here. When I graduated here, I got to see some of the huge behind the scenes things. This is a maze! Seriously! It must take a lot of time to get to know your way around down here. Parking is ample. It is odd, for the UNO graduations I have been to (3 in total), I have never had to pay for parking. But for my recent visit for my oldest nephews high school graduation, they were charging $5. It's not much, but I would imagine every penny counts when your kid is graduating and you are likely forking out money for higher education of some sort. Anyway. I have nothing to complain about here.

TJ G.

Yelp
Attended a concert here, everything was a MESS. none of the workers knew what was going on. they didn't tell anyone where the early access line was so most people who paid for early access didn't get to use it. when they finally came out to put wristbands on the people who had floor tickets (about 20 minutes before gates opened) they told people that their online tickets were no good and they had to leave line to go get a physical ticket, these people were waiting in line for hours, no one could've said something sooner? seems like all of this should've been planned out in advance, not right before gates open.

Yelp
We enjoyed the annual BIG book sale in aid of nola symphony this weekend. Great venue. Air conditioning was working OVERTIME. EASY parking. Short walk with all the treasures we bought cds works of art books and more.

Yelp
The UNO Lakefront Arena was once the premier venue in the city. Then came the New Orleans arena and the Lakefront Arena lost some of its allure. I have been to an enormous amount of events here. Everything from high school and college graduations, motorcycle rallies and concerts. This can be a good place to watch a concert if you get good tickets. The venue is small enough that you can see the stage from most seats, but like anywhere, you get what you pay for. It is worth the extra money to be close. The good: The venue has ample parking. When you leave you are forced to travel on Lakeshore Dr. This is cool because you get a great view of the lake. The restrooms are plentiful and kept reasonably clean. There is rarely a line for the men's room, but ladies may have to wait. There are restrooms near each section. The best thing to do if only half of the arena is open to seating is walk to the closed area and use those restrooms. There will be much less of a wait. The bad: Parking is $10. What happened to the free parking UNO? On my most recent trip the attendant was on her cell phone the entire time I was trying to pay her. I wondered why the line was taking so long. She was more interested in talking than giving out tickets. No re-entry. This is can be a pain if you forget something in the car. I realize most venues have the same policy, but it is 2012, I am sure some system can be developed to allow re-entry. Seating - The seats have very little leg room if you are over six feet tall. I highly recommend an aisle seat.

Yelp
by far the best pl for cleanest and the best sound of any arena along the I-10 corridor. amway center in Orlando is the best place for concessions but uno is the best sound

Yelp
I've been to a few shows here and for the most part have had a positive experience. As a medium sized venue, you get bands that are too big for places like HOB or Civic or Saenger but not big enough for the basketball arena (I refuse to call it by it's paid for name, it's dumb). I've been on the floor and in a few different areas in the stands and the sound and sightlines are all pretty great. There are bars located conveniently in multiple areas of the arenas and the bathrooms were adequate for the crowd size (no long lines, clean). Security seems pretty chill and that includes the cursory bag check when walking in. My biggest complaint about going to shows here is the lack of cabs/uber available after a show. I guess that's more a complaint about the lame cab drivers in NOLA, but it's important to note in case you are rolling to a show here sans car.

Tee F.

Yelp
Every year our center join other center around the city to show their talents, they dance, sing and above all they have fun.

Yelp
Horrible traffic getting in and outside. We to the LIT AF tour show. Experience inside was fine but due to traffic light and poor traffic direction, most arrived over an hour late.
google avatar

Alana M.

Yelp
The area where they have Uber's/Lyfts drop off and pick up passengers is next to the main road, a walk through a dark parking lot from the arena entrance/exit, and felt very unsafe for a single female. Concessions also had multiple issues with their internet/running payment cards and were unaccommodating of cash unless you had exact change.

John P.

Yelp
If you have never been to the Aquatic Center and are expecting directions once you're in the area you can get needlessly misdirected by a sign pointing in the opposite direction of the Aquatics Center. Don't follow the sign that directs you down a long winding road to a closed gate. The natatorium is the giant "spaceship" building with no windows right next to the gravel parking lot.

Yelp
This was my first time stepping front into the Arena. I got lost via google maps but found my way back miraculously. It was dark so it was hard for me to read whether the top of the lite up sign said Lakefront Arena or not. I took a turn down a street praying it'd lead me to the parking lot and lo and behold it did. Parking was a bit of a nightmare because there was simply no directions as to where to go and what row not to go down. I can't remember there were parking lines and if there were it was faint. So people ended up making their own spots in some areas. The lights are kind of dim so it's hard to see if you have trouble seeing in the dark. A bit eerie too for that matter. I was by myself and was afraid I was going to get attacked. There was one cop parked at the entrance to the parking lot and that was it. So entering and leaving was a little traumatizing for me. I was unsure of how to get to the basketball court. Asked the first person in a UNO coat and she told me to walk all the way up the ramp and to scan in with my ID. Entrance into the game was free for students and I only went for extra credit. The arrangement of seats is horrible. It was tight to get through the rows and the layout was just insane. I can't even begin to described how chaotic the seats are. There was no space to cut through to the other side horizontally. You had to either walk all the way up to the top and go down to where you needed to be or excuse yourself as you walked in front of people. Bumping into them along the way, while they had to angle themselves in the already tight space to give you the little extra space to pass through. The inside of the basketball court was so small. I ran into a co-worker who is also an alumnae at the school. She said it looks bigger when the court is gone. I hadn't even realized the court was something they set up like mat. So it's hard for me to wrap my mind around how much bigger can it look. They even hold concerts and graduations here for the school and community. The university I went to before use to hold their graduations here also. So the idea of almost 500+ students sitting on the ground is kind of crazy to me. Other than that I saw food accommodation's and restrooms. The bathroom I walked into had like 6 stalls though. Not enough for women if you ask me, since we have to go quite often.

Yelp
I like this place. Its Easy to find parking and everything is in walking distance. I love coming here. many of my greatest concerts were here . also my high school and college graduation were there so for me i love the lakefront .

Yelp
Recently the Big Easy Roller Girls have been having their bouts at the Lakefront Arena. While the LFA was once the premier venue in the city, it's not the headliner any more. I admit, I hadn't been there since my graduation from UNO in 2009 and then probably a decade before that. Sitting in the stands for BERG games I can't help but think it's much smaller than I remember it. I used to see big concerts here? Like Rammstein, which is known for huge pyrotechnic displays? The seats are typical stadium seating. Bring a cushion if you're going to be there for a while. Parking is ample, so there's no need to try to find a nearby lot. The Lakefront Arena really is a solid venue that's had its thunder stolen by the New Orleans Arena and the Superdome.
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
I've seen some good bands here but the experiences have definitely seemed to have been consistently declining with every event I attend here. The vending prices here have grown as outrageous as the Superdome (so I just refuse to partake of any food or drink in this rip off price gouging pure highway robbery of a racket). The parking NAZIs are in full effect around here so you either end up getting trapped in the long vehicle lines to get into the venue and have to pay for parking or you try to park off site and walk but then they find a way to tow you unlike in the past when there was free parking at UNO. The security just seems to be ready to jump on people for the smallest of infractions that would merit just a verbal warning in most other places. My past multiple experiences here have been so increasingly BLAH I'm about ready to just call it quits and say I won't return unless the Beatles reunite and play or Elvis rises from the dead for a show.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
This place is an ok venue for a concert at best. The security, food quality, and restrooms get big negatives and one of the worst I have ever seen for a concert arena that was supposedly redone after Katrina. The acoustics and parking are good but overall the downtown arena is a much classier venue than this.
google avatar

Kiley W.

Yelp
I think the venue is great as far as size and seats. All of the seats have a good view, seem clise, and are comfortable. Last night I was a little disappointed in some of the workers but I'm not sure if they were volunteers or arena staff. Upon arriving, although there was a detour, they weren't extremely helpful with parking. Once in the lot, the guy helping to park was rude. Many people wanted to back in and he rudely yelled with his cigarette hanging from his mouth that you could not back in. After the concert we were talking with vendors and apparently it was time to close up. The staff again was ugly and had already locked the gate near where I parked. They made us walk all the way around in the rain.
google avatar

Krystine G.

Yelp
Nice semi comfortable seats. Pretty good parking. Not a bad seat in the house!!! I've been here for a few concerts and events!!! Gotta say it's a pretty good arena!

Austin D.

Yelp
I have been to many concerts and I can say this venue is by far the worst. The customer service is terrible. My friends and I went to go and see The 1975 and we came at 11AM to start waiting in line for general admission. (The concert started at 7:30). The first 130 people to wait in line got wristbands and the employees told us we could leave and come back at 5:30PM. We didn't want to chance anything so we waited in line still anyway. My friends were #114, #115, and I was #116. We waited ALL DAY. I bought all 3 tickets and I thought it would be a good idea to send the tickets to my friends' phones. While doing this, I noticed that two of the tickets' QR code's looked the same. I called the UNO Lakefront Arena while waiting in line to ask about this problem right after we got our wristbands. I spoke to 3 employees to explain the situation and they kept sending me to different offices. The last lady I spoke to said to just disregard it if it is general admission. I said "Are you sure? The seat number for both of the tickets say seat 95 and both of the QR code's look the same..." and she said yes and to just ignore it. Of course, when the time comes to scan tickets, the tickets were the same and the second ticket did not scan. I was scammed. I bought my tickets through Vividseats so I do realize that is not the arena's problem. But the lady who was scanning tickets sent me to the box office meanwhile the rest of the wristband line was going inside. Two of the tickets scanned and went through so my brother took my phone and told me and my friend to go in and he would handle the situation at the box office. We were walking in and the lady who scanned our tickets yelled at us and said we couldn't go in. Our tickets went through and the third ticket didn't so I don't understand why we couldn't go in and my brother could walk out and handle the situation... I spoke to the supervisor and she kept telling me there was nothing she could do because I bought my tickets through a third party website which I completely understand that. She told me I could buy another ticket so I did and I asked if she or someone could escort me to my friends who I waited in line with (they were numbers 113 and 112). She said she didn't know. I said someone should because we have been waiting in line all day and people are just going in and we will get bad spots. So I bought my fourth ticket and went up to go in and at this point the other line who didn't get wristbands was walking inside... I went up to the front and the employees were fussing at us and telling us that we had to get to the back of the line. We held up our wrists and said that we had wristbands, and that one of our tickets was scammed and we had to go buy another ticket. They didn't care and we kept speaking up for ourselves. Finally, the lady who told me to go to the box office saw us and told us to see her and she let us in. Thankfully, we got good spots and the crowd let us stand by our friends at barricade. I do realized that me getting scammed with my tickets was not the venues problem. But after buying a ticket, someone should've escorted us to stand by our friends. I can't imagine if I got bad spots after waiting 7 hours in line... Also getting fussed at and argued at my the employees was very unprofessional. Something needs to change. The thing is, I CALLED AND ASKED about my tickets thinking they were scammed and the lady I spoke with told me to ignore it. I should've got her name but I didn't. Because of this I should've been able to go in for free. I tried to handle the situation ahead of time and the employee I spoke with didn't want to help and she told me to ignore it. Never again will I go to this venue. Absolutely terrible.

Yelp
Rock and Roll....this is a great arena to catch a show in. The arena was destroyed in Katrina and it has been completely remodeled. Comfortable seats, great AC, great sound system. Parking is no problem and show tickets are reasonable. The Royal Comedy Tour is coming in March, should be a good time.
google avatar

Brian O.

Yelp
terrible sound system and no score boards for a competitive event. disappointing

J. N.

Yelp
The event workers need to be taught how to treat customers. Workers were arguing with a section of people who were trying to enjoy the Chapter 5 tour performances. A woman who was working where I was seated, was showing no respect at all to a family. She was fussing with the mother about where she was to be sitting, when she had also told another group of people that's where they should be sitting. The woman's 3 kids were explaining to the security who passed by what happened, and they agreed the worker was wrong. Her co-workers were even saying the same thing! She was even put her hand in the woman's face, saying 'I'm done with you'. The entire section of people were even talking to security, proving how the worker was wrong. Words were even said she looked like she was using drugs or drinking, and I do believe she was. And also that her wig was too tight. She told the woman check hers, but it was her real hair. Heavy Jamaican accent, very dark and talks with a ton of slang, very ghetto is the way to separate her from her co-workers. Must have been in her 20's. Said she's been working there for 2 years. It must be her first job. So shout out to her. For my age, I knew she was very wrong. I'm 15 and I wouldn't respect my elders the way she did.
