Yelp
Okay I'm writing this review as a lesbian who loves women's sports, who was really excited to hear about a women's sports bar in LA. Yesss, let's go Sparks, Angel City, etc!! My review is meant to help the owners improve, and I really hope they do, as my friends and I want to support this bar, but we were disappointed in our experience.
Here we go: About 10 of my friends and I decided to travel to Untamed Spirits to watch the Sparks game on a Sunday. It was everyone's first time. When we walk in, it's not even on the channel of the game. There is only the Dodgers game and men's soccer playing on all of the screens. Not one women's sports game in sight. Even though there were tons of wnba games on that day. Huh!? I ask the server to please turn on the Sparks game on 3 TVs that our tables were next to. She came back and said she could only turn it on 2, because someone got angry at her for trying to change the Dodger game. I looked around but couldn't see anyone watching it. In any case, this is LA. You can go to literally any bar and watch the Dodgers. Isn't this supposed to be the first ever women's sports bar!? That's what we thought it was marketed as. And they just got a room full of lesbians arrived to watch the WNBA content on that day. The volume wasn't even paired to the Sparks game after it was turned on. There was 0 decor on the walls to indicate that it was a women's sports bar. Where are the sports paraphernalia for WNBA, NWSL, PWHL, etc?? Flags?? Team tshirts?? Nothing. By walking in you would literally never tell they supported women's sports, the decor was plain cookie cutter, random bar. They also only had 1 server working the entire room so ordering and getting food and drinks took a long time, so I imagine they're still figuring out staffing. After the game we played cornhole outside - a fun perk! But the game was set up right where they store the trash so the smell was so disgusting and so potent the entire time that we couldn't play long. There was also a meat cutter on the floor next to the game?? Felt weird and unsanitary.
We want to support you guys!! But the experience we had was quite disappointing. Hoping they improve and it becomes what we want it to be - and awesome hang out to watch women's sports!!
Update: I can't respond to the comment below from the owner, so I am just editing my post to respond:
Hello owner! Thanks for responding. However you are saying there were "no live games" is a weird thing to say. It was July 5, 2025 and there were at least 2 WNBA games on that day. I'm glad you found my review useful but weird to assume you know what day I came and say that there were no live games on!? Lol. I literally said we "came for the Sparks game." Man, that response was kinda disappointing too!
