Where to Eat Near LACMA and Mid-Wilshire, LA’s Miracle Mile Museum Row | Eater LA

"Fast casual pasta rarely tastes as good as the stuff at Uovo. Maybe that’s because the pastas themselves are handmade in Italy before being flown to the U.S., or maybe because it’s possible to dine well, and inexpensively, in well under an hour at this always-churning carb destination." - Farley Elliott

Amazing amazing amazing! We were helped by Miriam who was so friendly and nice and walked us through the menu and gave us a quick intro quick intro into the UOVO experience. We ordered the yellow tail and the spaghetti carbonara and fettuccini alfredo and oh wow they were delicious. You could also see the chef make the food in front of you which created for more transparency. We didn’t end up ordering the tasting menu, but maybe we should’ve and shared the tasting menu because the price ended up being the same when we ordered separately.

Walking into the restaurant the host greeted us with a bright demeanor and seated us after a short 15 minute wait. We then had an enthusiastic waiter named Karl who was extremely knowledgeable and polite, accommodating all allergy concerns. He also ensured all of our plates and forks were cleared after every dish and quickly replaced them with new ones. The food was amazing, we ordered three pasta dishes and one antipasti. I will definitely be coming back.

My friends and I come here all the time. The food is always great. I really love their salad, lasagna, and mushrooms. Prices are very reasonable for LA and the quality of food. Parking is convenient since it is free for two hours.

Google
I got the special which was a truffle and cheese pasta dish, and my brother got ragu. They don’t allow you to add or edit anything which was understandable. The pasta was very good but it was just one flavor, but wish there had been something additional in the dish. Great service and atmosphere! I am gluten free and was able to get gf pasta!

Google
The food was molto bene! I would rate my carbonara for taste as high as the carbonara at my favorite place in Rome. The pasta, handmade in Bologna, was the star of the meal. The wine selection was small, but adequate. The service was excellent, friendly and professional, and the price was very reasonable. Helpful Hint: The restaurant is very near the Auto Museum, the Motion Picture Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

Google
Love this place. First time at this one, we usually go to Santa Monica. The same great service, and amazing food. You do have to order two entree's, its just not enough if you get just pasta, but the crema parmigiana and the cacio e pepe..Above average, YUM! The carbonara is creamy and delicious. Im getting hungry thinking about it.

Google
Very authentic and tastefully made pasta! One of the best I’ve had. The chef makes them fresh in front of you and if serves it right onto your plate. Great experience.

Google
I rarely post reviews, but I am really turned off anymore by restaurant "concepts". I want your food, not your philosophy. The food was good, even though I am pretty certain they use cream in the Cacio which is not Roman style, but it was good and inexpensive. The place is super nice atmosphere wise and the service is solid. I asked for some bread . . . and that is where it fell apart. I was told they do not have bread because they want the pasta to speak for itself. If the pasta is delicious, it will speak for itself. I cannot remember every eating in Italy and being refused bread. Good food, great atmosphere . . . but give up on the concept . . .

Yelp
Great pasta very close to Italy quality and flavor!! Service was great and not pushy Ambience ok, but the food is more important

Yelp
This is the second time I came to this restaurant and it will be the last time. The service was terrible. Our food came to the table, and NOT one person checked in with us to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Around five minutes later a table was being sat next to ours and I asked the guy for our waiter because we wanted salt/pepper and cheese. This never happened and around five minutes later the same guy came around and I asked him again, and he said that he forgot it. The same guy brought the salt/pepper and cheese. We finished our meal and one of the waitresses came by and asked if we were done. I let her know that she was the first person to check in with us and ask how everything was. I explained to her what had happened and she apologized for what had happened. This place doesn't take any tips but charges a 16% service fee according to our bill. I didn't see anywhere on the menu or a sign that states this. The service wasn't worth 16% and I find it terrible that this is forced on patrons, and the staff can ignore tables. How can a restaurant operate like this?!?!!!??

Yelp
Incredible price and service as well as great simple pasta. Don't want a massive bowl with a bunch of stuff mixed in? Come here get the pomodoro.

Yelp
An overall great intimate dinner spot in LA without breaking the bank! The ambiance inside is dimly lit and the minimal, small space is mainly filled by the open kitchen in the middle, with counter seats surrounding. For parking, we just found street parking. The service was really warm, friendly, and attentive! We came around 6:30PM on a saturday night, and there was no wait. By the time we left at 7:30PM, the seats were filled and there were many parties waiting outside on the patio enjoying glasses of wine. All the noodles were perfectly al dente. Our antipasti of the night was the Battuta di carne (steak tartare) which actually blew us away by how fresh it tasted with the citrusy notes. The Cheese & Truffle pasta ($25 off the menu) was super flavorful and cheesy, despite looking incredibly plain lol. The cacio e pepe came 2nd, with its bold sharp peppery flavor. Overall, we'd definitely come back again for date night and try the carbonara and ravioli next time, or just get the tasting menu!

Yelp
Super yummy! We had the bolognese, cacio de pepe, tiramisu, hit the spot. Pasta was perfect. Very satisfying. Very convenient and parking.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Uovo was founded by the same people who founded Sugarfish, so I expected the pasta to be delicious - and it was! According to an Eater article I read, they use handmade pasta from Italy that's made with special red egg yolks, and it's shipped to the States within several days. I dined here years ago and still remember how perfectly al dente and flavorful my carbonara dish was. However, portions are small, so don't expect to take any leftovers home. I would love to try out their tasting menus sometime when I am back in the area.

Yelp
I tried Uovo for the first time years ago at their Santa Monica location and loved it. Definitely knew I had to visit again the next time I was in LA. I'm not sure if it's because we went to a different location but unfortunately the pasta wasn't as great as I remembered. The salad we got was great, but I got the vongole pasta with clams and it was too bland for my taste. I should have gone for a tomato based pasta like I had the first time. It wasn't bad, just wasn't what I was expecting to taste so was kind of a letdown. It's nice that there's an adjacent parking garage and that they validate parking.

Yelp
I like this place. It's approachable, affordable, service is good and pasta is tasty. That being said, I don't LOVE it. We did the 37pp "cheese & truffle" tasting menu. This came with yellowtail crudo, truffle pasta, pomodoro, cacio e pepe and tiramisu. I thought the truffle pasta was just okay. I thoroughly enjoyed the pomodoro & cacio e pepe but didn't blow my mind. The service is good and I love the counter seating. They seemed a little understaffed on a somewhat busy Thursday night but they got by well despite what seemed like not enough help. Overall, Uovo is a good spot with multiple locations across LA. The pasta is in flown in daily and you have a solid selections of different types of pasta on the menu. Food is good, it's just not the best pasta I've ever had by any means. I recommend them & would go back though. This is a good spot for a date night but not somewhere I'd go for a particularly special occasion.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant with a European vibe. Service is excellent. Very friendly waiters. The food is awesome and smells delicious! I really enjoyed the fresh pasta shipped from Italy. You can taste the difference. Tastes like something you would try while you are on vacation in Italy. Prices are reasonable. I'm definitely going back to try the other dishes and I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Aditi G.

Yelp
I got The Regional tasting menu and loved that we were allowed a few substitutions because we really wanted to try the yellowtail crudo. Dark ambiance and we sat at the counter but the four of us were on a corner so we were able to talk and see the chefs make pasta live which was fun. Service was great everyone was super friendly! And they are a no tipping establishment so they include everything in the final bill.

Yelp
Absolutely hits the mark every time, no matter the location!! Everything is always so good & pretty decent prices as well! Highly recommend!

Yelp
3.5/5 Stars Found this place on Yelp and stopped here for lunch after visiting the nearby museums. The pasta was good, but honestly felt overhyped/pretentious. Ordered the truffle butter tagliatelle -- the pasta was ribbon-like and delicious. The truffle butter was light, and not overbearing or salty. The Arrabbiata was also decent, but nothing super special. This place would be great if you're a pasta purist. The ambiance is very intimate. Depending on where you're sitting, it's either private and romantic, or kind of cramped. Lots of brick/concrete. The staff was super kind and attentive. They put in effort to make conversation and ask us how our food was, and I appreciate that!

Yelp
I've heard so much about Uovo and I couldn't wait to try it. It's located on the corner of Wilshire and McCarthy Vista. There's street parking and a private parking lot available that offers 2 hours free parking with validation. I visited on a Thursday during the lunch hour and I was seated right away. The staff provided amazing customer service. The ambiance was calm, quiet and relaxing. I ordered the Ragú and it was amazing. The pasta was very light and thin with an amazing meat sauce. The portions are perfect and the menu is very reasonably priced. I will definitely be visiting Uovo again. Enjoy!

Yelp
Wow! The pasta here is handmade and shipped overnight from Italy. The menu is almost exclusively pasta items, so be prepared for lots of carbs! They have a few tasting menu options that provide some nice variety if you want to try a few things. They are made to serve two people, but priced per person. The portion of each pasta is the same as ordering it a la carte (except of course they split it onto two plates). My table of 4 wanted to try almost everything, so we did two different tasting menus and a bunch of add-ons! Below is my review of each pasta in order of preference: Tortellini in crema - probably my favorite! Super creamy, salty, beautiful. I can't wait to have it again! Ravioli di ricotta - I subbed this out for the pomodoro in one of the tasting menus because it felt more interesting, and I'm so glad I did! The tomato sauce was delicious, but the ravioli was like a little pocket of heaven. Tagliatelle in truffle sauce - another one of my favorites! Nicely flavored, but not overpowering. Ragu - very good, very meaty, light on sauce Amatriciana - yummy, spicy red sauce with crispy bites of pork. Yes please! Lasagna - good, but in my opinion not up to par with the above pastas Cacio e pepe - very salty, not my favorite but I don't usually like cacio e pepe in general. Carbonara - my least favorite, but once again I don't generally like carbonara. For non-pasta items: Yellowtail crudo - very good, but felt a little random with the very Italian and pasta-focused menu. Roasted sides - all were great! Broccolini was my favorite Tiramisu - this was not quite what I expected, but it was very tasty! The cream was very rich and dense. I do wish they had more dessert options! There is no tipping here - a 16% service fee is automatically included in your bill. Also - there is a parking garage in the building - 2 hours free with validation, so take your ticket with you!

Yelp
Food (2 of 2 stars): I ordered the Classic Tasting and all the dishes we got were really good! I've gotten the Cheese Tasting previously at another location and I actually think I prefer that more. Service (2 of 2 stars): Our server was really nice and attentive. I could tell she was busy with the number of tables she had but she still made sure to not compromise service for speed. Another thing to note, surprisingly for dinner on a Friday, there wasn't much of a wait for my group of 7! Ambiance (1 of 1 star): Low lights and candlelight set the mood at Uovo. It makes for a bit more of an intimate setting whether you're with a group or just a couple! I'd definitely go again and wouldn't hesitate to go to any location. I'm open to trying new things on their menu but already have some of my favorites!

Yelp
Tasting menu was amazing. It was the perfect portions for 2 people. We also ordered side mushrooms. We got a table booth sit and the team constantly checked so that was great.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and well priced. Got the tasting menu and I loved all the pastas. The tiramisu was yummy too.

Erika T.

Yelp
Parking is hard to find as it is residential only. I believe the parking garages are for residents in the units above or a hotel- didn't check. Or maybe there is garage parking but I missed it. The service was mediocre, we were able to choose where to sit as it wasn't busy the time I went. The food came out quick and overall was a pretty quick meal. I ordered the Carbonara which was good but the portion was small. It was super cheesy which I like, but was a bit on the saltier side. I liked the texture of the pasta noodles- not too soft and not too hard. I don't think I'd come again but I wasn't disappointed in the flavor of the pasta!

Yelp
Never disappoints. UOVO is one of the few places in LA that I know I will always have a great time at. They put such a high emphasis on both the quality of food and customer service. I brought in a whopping party of 12 to this intimate space, and manager Christian made us feel at home. Thank you to our server Chris who was working double-time with our large group, and took wonderful care of us.
google avatar

Edeline Y.

Yelp
The waiter was super nice and made us feel welcomed. I liked the dark colors of the furniture that made restaurant chic yet modern. The pasta was chewy and flavors were subtle yet present. Portion size was perfect to finish for my family. Good experience overall!
google avatar

Yelp
The restaurant has a very positive energy and excellent dishes of food. The menu was fantastic and very decent quality. From appetizer to dessert everything taste so delicious. The steak was good and well-cooked. I also like the Cacio E Pepe and Ragu which taste so good and has pleasant flavor. The Lasagna was very delicious and one of my favorite too. A bit pricey but everything was good.
google avatar

Trevor M.

Yelp
Well.. I ate here yesterday for lunch and got food poisoning. I ordered the crema di parmigiano tortellini and the funghi. Whether it was improper handling or the items were expired, I am not sure..
google avatar

Jenna L.

Yelp
It's good... everything was decent. Better and more consistent than the raved about Cento (see my post for my horrible experience there, though everyone raved about it). Pretty good for a multiple-locations around LA spot. There's 3 pre-fix menus for $35/pp and it's a good tasting menu option if you want to try a bit of everything. The cacio y pepe and the hamachi crudo were the best dishes imo (we got the middle tasting menu) Get the premium beer option, that was SO good - I forget what it was called. Ambiance is casual, yet modern, yet could be a good (casual) date spot. No wait for 2 on a weeknight around 530pm. Good option for dinner- wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
Great pasta, great service , great experience I I highly recommend coming here and getting the regional experience. You're not gonna forget about it. Bada bing

Yelp
The pasta was amazing! All the way from Bologna! Our server, Zack was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! He was great! My son ordered the pasta amatriciana, my niece had Cacio E Pepe, I had their Lasagna. All weee so so good.. we had their Insalata Di Crescione , it was delicious! the Tiramisu' Al Cucchiaio and Funghi Mushrooms were wonderful too! The prices were very reasonable.. We will definitely be returning.

Yelp
I loooove fresh pasta. There's something so dreamy about springy textures and rich eggy flavors that get even better when paired with the right sauce! UOVO does an excellent job creating dishes that are simple yet flavorful AND they bring noodles fresh in from Italy everyday. All three pastas were delicious, and I would order them again The subtle spice of the Arrabbiata, nuanced garlic & brine of the Vongole, and the sharp richness of the carbonara all worked wonderfully with the noodles (and each other). The portions are just right so just order more if you're debating. Crudo was fine but didn't stand out. Tiramisu for the final touch! I'm a fan of wet tiramisu and the one here is almost like a custard. It's thick and creamy, with mild hazelnut & coffee flavors.
google avatar

Verna C.

Yelp
I've been wanting to eat at Uovo for almost a year now, since I remembered how great the Vongole was both times I had it at the Santa Monica location when I was still in college. Since there are no locations in OC, I knew I had to stop by when I was in the WeHo area. Having never been to this particular location, I really appreciate how easy parking was -- located in a parking garage with clear signage saying 2 hours free parking with validation. Parked on P1 and went up the elevator to the restaurant. Since it was a later Sunday lunch around 1pm, there was plenty of space; was greeted and seated right away. Our server informed us that in addition to everything on the menu, there was also a truffle pasta offered for $25. She also gave recommendations for a member of my party trying to decide between two pastas. While preparation of food was a bit on the slower end considering it wasn't too busy, it's understandable since each dish is freshly prepared, and you can watch them prepare it with the open kitchen area. My table ordered the Amatriciana and 2 Vongoles. For someone who really enjoys the Vongole and has only gotten this dish without a desire to try something different, I recalled the flavoring and seasoning to be excellent, but today, it seemed mediocre. While this dish is still not overly heavy as I recalled, it didn't seem to be as flavorful. The al dente pasta noodles had a nice chew to it though, and clams were properly cleaned. Restrooms are connected by a hallway with HiHo and Kazunori and were relatively clean. There is a 16% fee added to your bill but no tipping, per the fine print on the menu. Overall, I still think Uovo is a good quality place to bring friends and/or family for a casual yet upscale vibe (that won't break the bank)!

Yelp
In town for a long weekend and this place was not far from the hotel we were staying in. The pasta is flown in fresh from Bologna - DAILY. Insane. There was a bit of a wait as we were a party of 5 and it was about 30 minutes. We were seated at the bar and were able to watch the chefs prepare the meals for our. We ordered the yellowtail crudo and the battuta di carne to start. OMG this was really good. Then we moved to the different pastas and we ordered the vongole, arrabiata, tagliatelle al tartufo and cacio e pepe and the pasta was done perfectly and there wasn't anything left on the plates. We finished off with tiramisu that was unbelievable. This restaurant is part of the Sugar Fish group and I am a big fan of Sugar Fish so this is another one that I'll be returning to when I'm in LA.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night at 8:45 pm for 2 people. It was a 30 min wait. But after we got seated, seemed like everyone was leaving. So we just got unlucky. My husband and I ordered 3 pasta dishes: ragu, carbonara and ravioli de carne, broccolini and a tiramisu. I mean that's how hungry I was. We asked to bring the pastas all at once bc i like variety. But i don't know if that was a mistake bc it took another 45-50 mins to bring only 2 dishes out. The tables are small that not everything would be able to fit so they brought out the other 2 after. Omg i was just getting sooooo hangry at this point. On top of this, the people on our right side got the dish we ordered before us. Even the people on our left side got their dishes and they sat and ordered 30 mins after us. They explained to my husband that the reason why ours took so long was bc people complained about the pasta being too salty so they wanted to give us a new batch. Then why did the ppl on our right get carbonara?? Shouldn't they have waited for a new batch too. Anyways, onto the food. Favorite dishes were broccolini and ragu pasta. Carbonara was okay.... And the ravioli de carne does melt in your mouth but it's just in regular tomato sauce. They did comp us the tiramisu for the long wait but the bread part was hard and the cream on top was like melted ice cream. I guess I was hoping for more of a tiramisu from Eatlay. I'll need to rethink about coming back here.

Yelp
Really, genuinely underwhelming. I've had frozen supermarket dinners that were better than this. Ordered the carbonara. The food lacked any level of...appeal, really. I was going to say that it had no flavor, but it just tasted like bad butter; this is the type of dish that should have layers of complexity in the pallet, but it was just FLAT. Awful. The meat was sparse, and over-charred. They were ungainly and unsavory hunks of meat, and I greatly regret my patronage. The ambiance is lacking. The place has the pretenses of being fancy, but the spartan aesthetic comes off as more grungy like a subway tunnel. The only reason I'm giving two stars rather than one is because the server there was super gracious about our dissatisfaction (which we didn't draw attention to, but it was probably pretty evident) Don't waste your time.

Yelp
Visited last Sunday for dinner! Management has changed significantly (bathroom state very sad) but food still remains yummy :) fyi- make sure your entire party has arrived or you can't be seated & don't forget to validate your parking ticket or u will pay abt $20 for parking! Save that for one more pasta dish ;) this time, we got the yellowtail crudo, carbonara, butter truffle tagliatelle with funghi, and the pomodorini e basilico.. sprinkle black pepper (for oil and butter pastas) or red pepper (for carbonara) on pasta generously and devour! Skip the tiramisu and go for jeni's ice cream in beverly just 2 miles away!

Yelp
The ambiance is so cozy and romantic, the service is so quick and friendly, the food is INCREDIBLE!! Best broccolini (not shown in picture) and carbonara I've had. Bonus points for free parking with validation and a nice bathroom. New favorite place!!

Yelp
Was craving pasta and Uovo has the answer to my craving ! Had always wanted to check this place out. So for starters I thought the inside would be much bigger, but it's a cozy little restaurant with the kitchen situated right in the middle. You can sit at the bar or at the tables on the side. Service was quick and efficient. The food, oh man, I think this is one of the best pasta joints in LA. Real authentic Italian pasta, which they have imported fresh from Italy. It was so difficult to pick a dish, but I settled with the Amatriciana which had me drooling. I literally had to force myself to take my time to eat it for it to last longer ! Next time I definitely want to try a tasting menu. Now they only have one dessert, but you know what they say, quality over quantity. Delicious tiramisu. Light, fluffy, and served with an amazing melted chocolate on top. Already craving more !

Yelp
Small and quaint tucked away and easily missed on a major street. Easy parking for sure. Inside is dark as with all chains and very intimate. One thing is def bring your glasses if you are challenged as it will be hard to see your menu and food! Unless you sit by the bar the lighting is very dim to dark. As I said it is an intimate spot! Food is spot on in all ways. The portion is very small but packed with flavor. I want to say tip is already included in bill...I know right?! But the service has always been great so there is no worries here. The cost is about $25 a person for basic pasta, not including any libations. For an authentic Italian flavor and no need to get take out box, this place is great. Def impressive as a first date!

Yelp
Visited on a Monday evening with my friend -- we were seated quickly at the bar without having to wait. The servers were great and spent ample time explaining the menu and giving suggestions after we said that we were first-timers. We ended up ordering the Carbonara & Truffle Tagliatelle (this is a restaurant special that's not technically on the menu) and both were absolutely fantastic. Everything is served fresh right in front of you, perfectly al dente, and just the right portion size. You finish your meal so satisfied, but not so stuffed that you feel sick. Overall great experience. The restaurant itself is nice (though a little dark) and parking was super easy. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in LA!

Yelp
This place holds a special place in my heart. The service is impeccable as all the staff are friendly and dedicated. The food is an experience you'll never forget. The yellowtail crudo is a fresh and light dish that is delicately balanced drizzled with olive oil, lemon and blood orange. The arugula salad was not a disappointment not being overly dressed with balsamic dressing with the right texture and flavor from the roasted almonds. And for the entree I go with the tagliatelle in truffle sauce is quite indescribable in the best way possible. It's rich, creamy, earthy and the pasta is done al dente. I love sitting at the bar because they serve it from pan to dish right in front of you. As I said the staff is phenomenal. The dim lighting created a very intimate atmosphere. I hope you're already on your way.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE IT HERE! And for some reason I enjoy eating here alone. I try ordering something different each time It Fresh, flavorful, and relaxing. The customer service it 10/10. Always helping me try something new. Also this seems like it's great place to bring someone to catch up or a date. It provides that proper space

Yelp
Exceptional meal. Tried the tasting menu for two which came with a five course dinner consisting of yellow tail crudo, tagliatelle with truffle, pomodoro, cacio e pepe, and tiramisu. All of the dishes were incredible and an appropriate portion size for a tasting menu so that at the end of the meal we were full but not stuffed. The tiramisu was a highlight and would 100% recommend to anyone trying Uovo. There was a good wine list with generous pours for reasonable prices. The place is dimly lit with a very intimate setting. There aren't many tables inside but there is a nice bar to eat at if the few tables are full. The service was fairly fast. Only qualm would be we didn't revive our wine until the first pasta course but all the servers were polite and informative. As an added bonus there is validated parking next to the restaurant.

Yelp
O lordy! After having gone to Italy recently, dare I say it's even better here? One of the things I knew going to Italy was that they cook their pastas Al dente. My bone to pick was that it was far past Al Dente at most of the places I went to and was just undercooked all together. I totally understand having a chew but when you can taste the flour and granular texture I think that's just undercooked. Uovo said they have their noodles shipped from Italy daily! How awesome is that? Not only is that a cool fact but I can tell you they've mastered the texture. There were only a few places in Italy that did it like this and this is one of the best I've had in LA. You'd have to be silly to come here if you weren't a total noodle fan. They've mastered their craft here. Got the Cheese & truffle tasting menu + beef tartare - battuta di carne - simply decadent 5/5 - yellowtail crudo 5/5 - tagliatelle in truffle sauce 5/5 - ravioli ricotta 5/5 - cacio e pepe 5/5 - tiramisu al cucchiaio (while I was in Italy, I learned that there are two types of tiramisu. The traditional kind that most of us probably know which have the lady fingers and more of a cake finish, the other kind is more of a pudding. What they had here was a perfect in between, and I think I can promise you you'll never find better. This is the best Tiramisu I've had anywhere) 5/5 Will definitely make a trip back to try every item on the menu!

Yelp
Bar type seating or 4-5 tables of 2-4 person seating Usually not packed like it's counter part Kazu Nori or Sugarfish. Should be telling Had the truffle tasting menu Only liked the carpaccio Truffle pasta Added Wagyu beef rare- not bad Everything else was lacking Heavy heavy carbs, creamy sauce. It's ok. Won't be back.

Yelp
I was craving pasta and decided to give Uovo a shot. I ordered the Yellowtail Crudo ($17) to start and the Cacio e Pepe ($18) as my main course. The Yellowtail Crudo was fantastic! I particularly enjoyed the olive oil that the yellowtail came with. It went together fantastically. The fish itself tasted fresh as well. The Cacio e Pepe was good, but it didn't stand out to me. I've ordered Cacio e Pepe plenty of times at other restaurants and this one was standard. I'd say you could probably make the same dish at home using the premade Cacio e Pepe sauce from Trader Joe's. The service was fine. I was seated immediately once I entered the restaurant. The servers were attentive as well. There are two types of seating here. First, they have shared seating, similar to omakase style of seating. Second, they have tables where you could sit more privately. The tables are close to each other so it's easier to hear other guest's conversations. Overall, I think this is GOOD place if you're looking for pasta-not GREAT.

Yelp
I've only been Uovo twice and this is before the pandemic and also at their first ever location in Santa Monica. We ordered 4 different pastas and sadly, I only enjoyed one-the carbonara. It was nothing like I remembered and everything was just salty to me. Although the pasta itself tasted fresh and rich...the salty/creamy flavor was overwhelming. I would probably go back to the old location or try a different one.

Yelp
Great time at Uovo! The food is phenomenal here. Uovo doesn't take reservations which can be a bit stressful. I wonder what the perk of that is. We decided to go early so we'd be able to eat quickly, and it worked! We only had to wait about 30 min for a table at 4:30 pm on Sunday. I've been here on the weekends at a normal time and it def takes longer, especially for a larger party. The service is pretty whatever, verging on rude. The tips are built into your bill. While it's a reasonable percentage, this definitely shows up in the level of service you receive. Our waters stayed full, but we had to ask for items we hadn't received and the waitress definitely was not chatty about options or accommodations. Despite these issues it was still an awesome experience because the pasta is phenomenal! I am a pasta snob and super particular about the preparation and the sauce, and we all were very pleased with our dishes. We also got the tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious! (Although, I'm not sure how it's made, since the waitress informed us we could not order espresso as they do not make it there, but this is a primary ingredient in tiramisu..? ) Overall very much worth the visit and with a few tweaks could be a 10/10 experience!

Yelp
Food is prepared fresh right in front of you. I believe the pasta is flown in straight from Italy. Carbonara hits every time - bacon bits are salty, crunchy, fatty, and moist all at the same time. I really take my time enjoying my meals here because every bite is precious. I usually come here with my colleague when we feel like treating ourselves during lunch. Because we come during lunch time I think service is something do be desired. Chef is engaging - which is great. Ambiance is great. Bar is a natural wood - polished and varnished. Lots of space and in line with the Kazu Nori brand. Bonus is that there is a Hiho and Kazu next door (same owners).

Yelp
3 course meal for $37, cannot beat that! The food is delicious, I opted for the cheese & truffle tasting menu and swapped the yellowtail crudo out for the insalata di arugula and most of it was delicious! The only thing that could've been better was cacio e pepe, it was very salty in my opinion. The pasta quality is very fresh, as everything is made in house. The staff was super friendly & we got to sit at the bar and watch the chefs whip the food up! Loved the ambiance of this restaurant as it wasn't too busy when we went. Would return again. The tiramisu is a must have!

Yelp
Not my first time here, actually a regular here when I'm in LA! The staff is always friendly here, free parking with validation and never a wait. Great place for a last minute date night, especially with the dim lighting and vibes here. Pasta is always a on point and such good value. My favourite is the amatriciana!

Yelp
Uovo's Cheese and Truffle Tasting Menu serves up uniquely tasty pasta in a lively "pasta" bar ambiance, reminiscent of a sushi-hand roll spot like Kazunori. Each dish was a flavorful adventure, perfect for a date night or a fun outing with friends. The open kitchen adds a cool twist, letting you watch as chefs prepare your meal. However, the $37 price tag felt steep for the portion sizes. The service was top-notch, with very friendly staff. Bonus: free parking for 2 hours with validation. Overall, I'd give Uovo a 7/10--great food and vibes, but a bit overpriced.

Yelp
Uovo is 100% my go-to place for amazing pasta. I've tried different locations and I really appreciate that the dishes are consistent everywhere you go, and dishes are always served fairly quickly. I prefer the Mid-Wilshire location because there's generally always space, and there's a parking structure next door that offers validation. Perfect for date night or even solo dinner vibes due to the dim lighting and bar seating. Would recommend trying the tasting menus if you have a group of 2 or more since you can really get a variety of pastas, anti-pastas and even tiramisu for dessert! My go-to meal is a Super Tuscan red wine, Crudo, Brocollinis and Crème di Parmiggiano :) Nonetheless, all the pasta is fresh and made in front of you if you're sitting at the bar area, and all the anti-pasta and side dishes are all worth a try!

Yelp
Of all the Uovo places in Los Angeles, my personal consensus is that this is the best location. It is usually the least crowded and of my many experiences here, I've only had one that wasn't super positive. That isolated incident happened to be when we were a party of 3 and seated on a small 2 person table- they eventually moved us but with great difficulty which wasn't the best experience. However, the other times I've eaten at this restaurant have been nothing less than delicious pasta for the price. The Ragu is my personal favorite and although I think they're a little skimpy with the meat, there have been occasions where I've gotten a greater portion. Considered their "signature dish" the Ragu at Uovo is on the drier side with minced meat poured over the top of the pasta instead of cooked into the sauce. The meat is well flavored amidst nicely textured pasta. The cacio e pepe is my next favorite with its show-stopping finishing in, of course, the cheese wheel. Since moving away from Los Angeles, I have yet to find better Ragu and Cacio e Pepe than that at Uovo. Their carbonara and lasagna are good too but my overall picks would still be the two aforementioned above. Whilst this is not exactly the "best pasta in the world" for $17/$18 a plate, it is extremely good value for the quality and taste. I've tried their tasting menu once or twice. Their crudo has always been alright for me, full of flavors where I didn't really know how they would combine. I don't go out of my way to order the crudo and the same can be said for their Tiramisu dessert. Overall, a good place for great pasta at an affordable price. 8/10. Bonus points for free parking.

Yelp
It's walking distance from Lacma. You get a 2 hour validated parking when you dine here. The lighting is very dark; by the bar, you could barely see till your eyes adjusted to the lightning. The service was good. They do include a 16% service per city. There is no tipping line on the credit card bill. The decor seemed more of a kitchen, because that's the only area that was lit up. The food was prepared in front of you as the chef prepared the food. The food was served fairly quickly. All 3 dishes were kinda on the salty side. But they still taste good, you could taste the essence of the noodle. The sauce were used sparingly as how it should. Their tiramisu is another version that I never had. I like it too. Overall, it was a good experience. I give it a 4.2 out of 5.
