Uovo Studio City - Review - Studio City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"There are so many euro-centric pasta spots along Ventura Blvd. that at times it’s tough to tell them apart. That’s why the arrival of Uovo feels like a breath of fresh air. Located in the Sportsmen Lodge redevelopment, Uovo is a casual pasta bar with multiple locations across the city. And yet, it hasn’t fallen prey to the pitfalls of mini-chains. This is well-executed, consistent pasta in a welcoming environment that works for lunch meetings, casual date nights, or grabbing a glass of wine by yourself at the bar. There are close to 15 different pastas on the menu, but standouts include the cacio e pepe and brodo, a broth-filled pasta filled with savory, pork-stuffed tortellini." - Brant Cox

We had an out of town guest who loved pasta so brought her to Uovo for the food and ambiance. All the pasta dishes were excellent…and each with its own unique taste. Portions are “small” for US so definitely recommend at least one dish per person.

Google
This place is INCREDIBLE. I had the pasta special (sheets of tender pasta in a creamy tomato sauce-- TO DIE FOR). The tiramisu is the best I've ever had. I don't live in LA but will be visiting every time I'm in the city.

Google
Such a great experience at UOVO. The pastas are hand made in Italy, and flown overnight to LA. The result is one of the more authentic Bologna style eateries anywhere in the city with on the mark La Grassa & La Rossa dishes. The tiramisu, arugula, and crudo were nice additions. Unbelievably, this place is very reasonably priced. Most pastas are well under $20. Che bello!

My husband and I ate at Uovo a year ago during our honeymoon in Malibu. We tried the Studio City location for pick up since we were driving from LA back to SF with our dogs. We got three pasta dishes to go between the two of us because we knew we wouldn’t be able to get this again for a long time. I lived in Italy for years and this pasta truly transports you from LA to Bologna or Roma! It’s magical, authentic, delicate, and most of all - so delicious!!! Even their to go version was top!!! I forgot to take photos of the before of our dishes; however, I was blown away that for to go utensils - they gave us REAL utensils. Which just allows anyone eating this to go eat it the way it should be; with a fork that can twirl pasta properly!

Google
This place is a hidden gem—absolutely excellent! The wait was a bit long, so be prepared, but it’s totally worth it. When one of our dishes didn’t turn out quite right, the manager, Jessica, was incredibly helpful and made sure we were taken care of. The whole team, especially our server Thomas, provided top-tier service. The ragu pasta was hands-down the best, and the salad was surprisingly amazing—even for someone like me who usually isn’t a fan of arugula. They really know how to bring it all together.

Google
Hands down my favorite place for Italian food!!! Without mentioning that their tiramisu is the best tiramisu of my life!!!! Highly recommended the tasting menu, includes a starter, 3 different pasta flavors and dessert. The place is a bit small and dark but it gives me vibes of NYC kitchen/bar, which is cool.

Google
Ordered “the regional.” Good value, very tasty, and friendly service. I am a big fan of this restaurant group.

Google
The food was really good, staff attentive and a nice atmosphere. They add 16% service fee to your bill and do not bring a receipt that has a line for tipping. They say they are a no tip restaurant, and honestly I like that that do it this way. I've been to restaurants where they add a service fee and then bring you a receipt where it has an add tip line. If you're not careful you will tip twice. That is dishonest in my book. But not this place. Good location, great food, good staff, nice bar what else could you want? I will be back, and I don't say that often

Yelp
Uovo is a well-renowned restaurant that is hailed for their high-quality pasta dishes where they ship the ingredients for their pasta dough overnight from Italy! While I never went until recently, the exterior of their restaurant and their logo appeared sleek and romantic. Inside, it is nothing different. We sat at the bar directly around the cooks and the service navigating their way around the chaos, swiftly completing everyone's orders yet still being attentive to the visitors sitting inside. The lighting was dim, it was not super rowdy, and the theatrics of pasta flipping in the air with the sizzling sound of spices and herbs were pristine. We ordered the arrabiatta, funghi, and the truffle tagliatelle special, plus their tiramisu at the end for dessert. Everything tasted sublime but especially the combination of funghi and arrabiatta. Overall, Uovo is such a lovely place to visit--not just for the food but for the ambiance!

Yelp
Unlike most Italian restaurants in LA, Uovo imports their pasta from Italy on a bi-daily basis. You can tell the moment you taste their dishes. It's is not heavy or overwhelming. Their dishes are also smaller than what you expect. Which is closer to what traditional Italian dishes are like. Their staff is friendly and helpful. If you sit at the pasta bar area you can watch your pasta dish being made. And you can also interact with the cooks who are very knowledgable and insightful. This is a great date spot. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We were in the city for Halloween Horror Nights and wanted to have a great dining experience. The Cheese and Truffle tasting menu is a great journey. You'll start with a solid crudo and move into the star of the show: Tagliatelle in truffle sauce. The pasta is buttery smooth and well put together. I'll think about this pasta for some time and will judge others by this dish. Moving to the next step, introduces a meaty spaghetti option. The final boss was why we came here. After watching tons of pasta reels, we always wanted to try pasta out of a cheese wheel. Cacio e Pepe is an advanced option with bold flavors and caps the flight well. It's really thoughtful to build up to this dish and the flavors may put you off if this is your only dish. Tiramisu was great. If you are worried about dressing up, don't. The ambiance is casual but can dress itself up depending on where you sit. We sat at the bar and felt there was a good connection to the staff. Service was fine.

Yelp
This is the place to have a very good and authentic Italian pasta without leaving your kidney as deposit payment. Me and my friend got the fixed menu where you get to try 3 different pastas + appetizer + dessert, all in small portions, of course. It was so worth it, especially when you always wonder which pasta to get and the sauce was well made. All of them were great. The pasta was fresh and all of them are shipped from Italy overnight, which is, by the way, their selling point (that works!) The only thing is that the place is very dark, you can barely read the menu. I also felt that the service is a little too rushed, of course, there's a line of people waiting to get in, but still, it's not that "I want to have a deep conversation with my friend here" vibe. Eat and get out kind of thing. Would I go back? Definitely!

Yelp
We walked in on a Friday night and were seated at the bar right away. The restaurant was pretty dark and had a more casual ambiance than I expected. We ordered the ragu, carbonara, and pomodoro pastas. Overall, the pastas were tasty and cooked to the right texture, with the tagliolini being our favorite. However, the sauces were quite salty, which was a bit disappointing. Service was friendly and efficient. Parking is free for the first 1.5 hours (no validation required) in the Sportsmen's parking lot.

Yelp
Freshly made pasta shipped from Italy daily? Yes, please! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here; I've yet to find a dish I don't love. The yellowtail crudo is an absolute standout--fresh and delicate, it practically melts in your mouth. Even as someone who isn't usually a fan of clams, the pasta with clams was a delightful surprise, easily one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The tasting menu is a fantastic way to sample a variety of exquisite dishes, each more impressive than the last. Of course, great food comes with its trade-offs: both in price and wait time. It's a bustling spot that doesn't take reservations, so if you're planning to visit on a weekend night, be sure to arrive early.

Yelp
I honestly really love the pasta here! It is my absolute favorite, it's such great quality and delicious. I am usually really picky when it comes to pasta so for this place to be amazing to me says a lot. I have tried about half the pasta items on the menu and I love all of them, I would gladly order any of them over and over again, however, I have to have the ragu everytime. The ragu pasta dish is by far my favorite! I also love their arugula salad with almonds, it's so simple yet light and delicious. When I order pasta anywhere else, I get so full and bloated from pasta dishes, it turns me off from wanting pasta for dinner. Here the pasta is such great quality that you don't feel like crap afterwards. After being in Italy multiple times, I can confidently say that this is quality Italian. My reason for 4 stars is I'm still not a fan of the ambiance here, it's not too bad, it's very relaxing for me and husband to come sit at the bar, but it's very annoying to need to use a flashlight to read the menu, every person who came in after us had to do the same thing. It's just toooo dark in there. The food alone makes it worth coming.

Yelp
Uovo is a pasta lover's dream! From the moment you walk in, the sleek and modern design sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The pasta is the star of the show--handcrafted, perfectly cooked, and paired with sauces that are bursting with flavor. I'm a big fan of their Tagliatelle in truffle sauce--it's rich, comforting, and simply divine. The yellowtail crudo was such a great starter. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your meal is nothing short of excellent. The portion sizes are just right, and the quality of the ingredients really shines through in every dish. Uovo has become my go-to spot for a quick and delicious pasta fix. If you're in the mood for authentic Italian pasta, look no further!

Yelp
Had a similar experience to my previous review. I asked for no extra pepper on top of my carbonara and they said that they can't make any modifications, only with cheese..? I wasn't blown away by the yellowtail crudo, I thought the oil and grapefruit juice was overpowering.

Yelp
I was visiting Rome,Italy this summer and this place has the most amazing pasta I have had. Stopped by late night and staffs were amazingly friendly with big smiles and the chef was making the dishes freshly in front of my eyes so deliciously Devine. Their wines collection was so much to choose from and pairing well with any dishes of your choice. Romantic and clean atmosphere perfect for any occasional. I shall return!

Yelp
Ambience is cute. Service is good... honestly service is hit or miss, but they made the effort so it's good. I brought my mom here for her birthday because she wanted pasta. The food is good and worth it. The price point is worth it. I really really enjoyed the Pomodoro. The yellow tail crudo was good. The grapefruit was different. The Carbonara, and the Cacio e Pepe was very salty but good. The tiramisu was amazing. Would definitely recommend for the pomodoro and the desert.

Yelp
What can I say about this place other than its delicious and the ambiance is intimate and classy? The pasta was to die for, I could eat it all day. Service was prompt and friendly, if you sit at the bar you can watch the food being prepared which just peaks the appetite more . It was such a lovely night out, tucked away in the plaza. Dessert was decadent and light The price is moderate for the time and effort put in.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
do you want fresh pasta? then come to uovo. fresh pasta flown from Bologna. We did the regional tasting menu and sub the appetizer for the yellow tail crudo which was TDF! Perfect bar seating so you can see the pasta making in action. Loved the experience! Next time i'd love to try the truffle pasta.

Yelp
My daughter took me here for Mother's Day dinner. It took me awhile to find it though. The GPS is telling me I arrived but I don't see a sign. Jeez..It is inside at Sportsmen's Lodge. The wait was overwhelming - 45 minutes to an hour. But still we put down our names and went to check out the other places. While checking out Sugar Fish, we were called that our table is ready. Wonderful!!! My daughter and I chose to seat at the bar. A few minutes passed before someone came to give out menus and asked for our beverage. Our server is not checking on us in a timely manner as well. I saw some of them just standing up there. What a bummer!!! My daughter had been here before so she has an idea what to order. She recommended the tasting menu. It looks like a lot for me. So I just ordered from the regular menu. Food: - Pomodoro - Vongole Both were recommended. Serving was not generous though. If you're starving it is not enough. It doesn't come with a bread either nor they serve a complimentary bread. Would I come back? Yes I will. I am interested in trying the tasting menu. Most of the Yelpers recommend it. Ambiance - I find it too dark inside. It is like you are going into a bar or a club. It might be romantic for others but not for me. Regarding parking, there is plenty of them. Either you can self park or valet. There is a 90 minute free.

Yelp
We did the Cheese & Truffle Tasting Menu which serves two people. I love a tasting menu because it'll allow you to try multiple items on the menu. The portion sizes were the right amount and everything was delicious! The servers were attentive and I loved that it wasn't loud when we went for lunch. Great place for lunch or dinner as a catch up with friends or dressy night out. I'll be back to try more items on the menu! Parking: there is a paid parking lot with plenty of spaces

Yelp
Great solid no frills pasta spot. We got the prix fixe menu with five different pastas, which were all delicious. The pastas all seemed very simple but held intricate flavors. Some of the pastas were definitely on the saltier side but still tasty overall. Pastas all came out immediately one after the other, and dessert was very yummy as well. As the kitchen is open, chefs are making the pasta right in front of you and it's amazing to watch. We went on a double date night here and I highly recommend as a nice date night spot - but the wait can be relatively long so plan ahead accordingly!

Yelp
This was my second time at UOVO and my first time at the Studio City location. Interior has a casual yet classy vibe, although side note- I wonder if people in LA have friend groups larger than 2... because I thought the inside was a bit cramped and there wasn't much seating available for large parties (large being like... 6). It was mostly bar seating. I got the Crema di Parmigiana which was ok. I *wish* I got the carbonara because that was absolutely delicious. I'm still thinking about those crispy, fatty pieces of guanciale... definitely elevates a carbonara compared to bacon. The vongole was really good too... the sauce was so rich and flavorful... I think I would get the vongole next time if I had a choice. And our server was so nice and accommodating! We got the tiramisu and it was so yummy... then the check came out but we wanted another tiramisu LOL. Our server was more than happy to get another check for us. Overall, I had a good experience.

Yelp
Always a fan favorite! Thanks to the amazing service from the staff and the very romantic dim lit dinner setting :) Thanks Jerardo! He showed us how to properly eat the tiramisu!

Yelp
If you're a fan of authentic Italian pasta, Uovo is the place to be! The simplicity of their menu is what truly shines--their focus is purely on pasta, and it shows in every bite. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm and welcoming, with a modern yet cozy interior that sets the tone for a delightful meal. I tried the **Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe**, and it was hands down one of the best versions I've had outside of Italy. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce had the ideal balance of creamy and peppery flavors. Another standout dish was their **Tagliatelle Bolognese**. The rich, slow-cooked sauce clung to the delicate noodles, making each mouthful incredibly satisfying. What makes Uovo special is their dedication to quality. They import their pasta straight from Bologna, and you can taste the difference. The attention to detail and respect for traditional Italian techniques elevate every dish. Plus, the service is friendly and efficient, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. For anyone seeking authentic Italian flavors without unnecessary fuss, Uovo is a must-visit. It's a place where simplicity meets perfection, and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
It's All About The Pasta! This was my second visit, and the food continues to impress! During my first visit, we tried two of the three tasting menus, but this time we opted for the Cheese & Truffle Tasting menu. The yellowtail crudo was divine and fresh, followed by the Tagliatelle in Truffle Sauce, which was incredibly creamy and savory with every bite. The meal also included the Pomodoro, another one of my favorites, and ended with the Cacio e Pepe, which was personally my least favorite. The tasting menu concluded with a nicely portioned Tiramisu, perfect to finish the meal. The service was good, though it could have been better as we felt a bit rushed, possibly due to the no-reservation policy and the usual wait. However, it was a Tuesday evening, and it wasn't too busy. This cozy and trendy spot is great for a nice dinner, and I would return just for the delicious pasta dishes!

Yelp
Another week, another Yelp review! This time, we gave Uovo a try. First impressions: definitely not reservation-friendly, but hey, I rolled with the punches. While we waited, we headed upstairs for some wine (but that's a whole different review). Back to Uovo--the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was top-notch. We went with the truffle cheese option, which included an appetizer, three small entrees, and a dessert--perfect for two, all for $37 each. Now, here's where I have to be honest: while everything was phenomenal, it's not a place I'd rush back to. Some pastas were a little too salty, and others needed a bit more flavor. That being said, I really enjoyed the experience overall. Glad I tried Uovo, but I'll be exploring other pasta spots before making a return!

Yelp
PASTA PERFECTION PROS--------- PASTA: When they say they specialize in fresh, delicious past, they 110% deliver on that claim. Each pasta dish was better than the rest, cooked perfectly and exploding with flavor. I absolutely LOVED the truffle pasta SERVICE: The service was impeccable and we enjoyed every moment of the quick, attentive, and helpful service ATMOSPHERE: Perfect vibes with dim lighting so each table felt intimate with your own party HALF A CON----- NO RESERVATIONS: Walk in seating only is tough especially with a larger party because you can't plan accordingly, but with a party of 6 it was an hour wait on a Friday evening which wasn't too bad. You can walk around the plaza to kill time.

Yelp
I like to come and check this place to see if it's still good. Had a buttery Chardonnay Was gonna do the usual but ordered the ragu instead. The pasta was cooked just right and I'll give Ali (the chef who prepared it snaps for handling the entire place for lunch up until 4pm See you later

Yelp
Uovo is located in a small parking plaza that also has Erewhon and a handful of other small businesses. Parking wasn't too bad on a weekday night around 8:30pm, and the wait was maybe 45 minutes - to the T. The interior is dimly lit but enough to see the dishes and enjoy the fresh tastes dished in front of us. My friend and I ordered a few items similar to their tasting menu: Yellowtail Crudo, Ragu, and Amatriciana. The Yellowtail Crudo was delicious, with a nice blend of tang, sour, and lightly spiced. Lathered in olive oil, this one was CRISP and went slid down easy. The Ragu was interesting; I never expected to like what appears to be a "bare" pasta topped with meats. (What did I expected? The description was literally Bolognese without [dairy]...), The beef and pork, though, were sooo flavorful, lightly sweetened with pinches of salt as contrast. The noodles? They were very crisp and as best as I could have wished any noodle cooked. The Amatriciana boasted a similar profile, though adding in the sweet flavors of tomatoes and hints of spiciness from chili peppers. On top, there was also cheese, which made it a perfect partner for the Ragu. Returning? Heck yes, better question is when? Throughout the meal, service was amazing, and water was often refilled. The two absolute best parts of dining here: (1) tip-free restaurant - might be "prebaked" into the price / salary but a relief (2) cheese wheel - never had the opportunity to order something that uses this... I must next time!

Yelp
Great service, the ambience is great (the only thing I didn't like was their chairs at the bar, it's like they are built to make you uncomfortable and not stay long, but still worth the rate). We had the tasting menu and every dish is tasteful, beautiful and just something to have more off. On top of all, the price is ridiculous (on the low side). I highly recommend it.

Kim S.

Yelp
UOVO has the best pasta I've ever had in my life, and I've had many pastas. We came here with my daughter and nephew- I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a place for kids, as it is more intimate. With that said, they both really enjoyed the food, even the salad! I highly recommend any of the tagliolini dishes. Pricing is extremely reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise. I would move down to SoCal just so I could eat here every day.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing! I had no idea that they imported their pasta straight from Italy! It makes sense though, because I ate a huge portion of pasta and did not feel full and gross! They have a wonderful tasting menu that people could split and there are so many amazing options! The service was impeccable. We never once had our glasses, empty or needed to turn our heads to get attention. It is very romantic and perfectly lit. Candles on every table in great music playing. My goddaughter who is 22 chose this place for her birthday dinner. and I was so glad she introduced me to it! It's in a plaza on Ventura Boulevard so parking is very easy. my favorite pasta was the carbonara and the truffle. I also got the tiramisu for dessert and it's the best I've ever had in my life! I cannot wait to come back here!
google avatar

Yelp
The best thing on the menu was something that wasn't even on the menu it was a truffle pasta special. I would've left a higher rating but I hope this gets customers attention. It was my first time there so it was a little deceptive when I got the bill... it just said 16% FEE Nothing else... I asked 2 different employees, "does this go towards the gratuity?" They said "no, it goes towards the restaurant" I said "then what's this fee for?" I got vague answers The employees weren't clear Reading other reviews now I understand they're a no tip restaurant like sugar fish. I'm pretty sure they're probably the same owners as well. My food order is $100 Why do I have to walk out paying $150 Be transparent. Don't write "FEE" With no description or explanation. Basically you guys dupe people who didn't know better.
google avatar

Kathy H.

Yelp
The waiting list system didn't make any sense and we almost lost our reservation because the text messages were confusing about wait times. Thankfully, my partner decided to walk from the wine bar we were at to double check and they said we lost our reservation but "did us a favor" and sat us after I showed them the confusing messages. I'm so glad we got the Cheese and Truffle tasting menu + two full pastas (Vongole and Ragu) because the portions are small. I thought the tasting menu had full size portions but I believe they are half so keep that in mind and order accordingly. The pastas were cooked al dente but definitely on the saltier side. The yellowtail crudo for the tasting could've tasted much better if it wasn't drenched in olive oil. On the plus side, our server was great and we were happy with the Chianti we drank. All in all, it was fine and I would go back but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
Stopped by mid-afternoon on the weekend and waited 15 minutes for a table. Nice, chill vibe establishment. Here's what we ordered... Arugula salad: very good Truffle pasta: good, some noodles were hard; could be fantastic with real truffle Crema di Parmgiano: excellent The staff was friendly, but the food came out so slow and the restaurant was not full. It's a "no tip" restaurant that charges a 16% service fee, but I rather pay a generous tip if it means the food will come out faster. We'll go back again cause the food is worth it. Just wish they had pizza on the menu.

Yelp
Was surprised to be walking out quite pleased (and full) with this meal - often places that are overhyped and more upscale leave me desiring more but this was not the case! We ordered the cheese and truffle tasting menu and I was pleasantly surprised by the price for the amount of food. Yellowtail crudo was incredibly fresh with the best flavors (I think a really fresh extra virgin olive oil is what I really remember?). The other standout was the truffle tagliatelle - wasn't expecting much from the way it looked but boy was I wrong, I want it in my mouth again now that I'm typing about it. We also ordered a side of broccolini but it was a bit too seasoned for my taste. Dessert was slightly mid and forgettable. Service was nice, waiter came by and checked on us a comfortable amount of times. Very dark and sultry ambience- good for date night but you can't see much! (It's giving hollister in 2013 iykyk)

Yelp
We went in on a Monday night and this is the first time I havnt had to wait! They always have a wait, but that is how you know it is good! The sportsman lodge is a fun place to walk around anyways so it's nice to wait alittle! The food is always made so fresh and so flavorful chef Trevor was making all of our pastas and he did such an incredible job! Made with love!! Isabella was our server and she was very on top of clearing our empty dishes and making sure we had everything that we could have wanted! We got the tasting menu which is so fun! What's better than 1 pasta 3!!!! Always a great experience at Uovo anything I have eaten I have loved! My personal favorite is the truffle it's so light and not over powering! The yellowtail is so refreshing as well! Also love the tirimisu could eat the entire thing myself!!

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were perfect. I want to thank the hostesses for helping us with seating. We had issues receiving text updates when our table was ready. The ladies at the front were able to ensure we got seated timely. My friends and I all had different types of pasta and the cauliflower for an appetizer. Service was quick and the food delicious.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. He told me that the place doesn't take reservations but decided to go since he told me the pasta was good. Went and got told our wait time was an hour and decided to just wait since it is in a plaza and there are other things you can do while waiting. Now, maybe I am just being picky but the seating arrangement, and especially where I was seated by the corner, it wasn't the best. The stools are too hard and I did not have a place to put my purse, and the guy sitting next to me kept bumping into me since everyone is sat so close to each other. The ambience is very dim and dark so I couldn't get the best pictures, but I personally like it. Makes it seem very warm inside. Food is quite good too. The pasta is very doughy and the right texture. One of the flavors, I forgot which one , was very salty.. not sure if that is supposed to be like that but I couldn't finish it. No bread served or anything else. Decided I needed some protein and got a carbonara with pork and it was 10/10!! Loved it. A little upset when I got the bill because there was a service tip fee charged and I had no idea. Other than that, our server was super nice to us and food was good.

Yelp
A quaint little place where everything from food to atmosphere gives you a feeling of being in Italy . A special shout to Jessica who gave the place the love and feel of a cozy restaurant . Definitely can see this place becoming a treasured gem .

Yelp
So this is not a traditional italian restaurant. So do not come here if you like the following: - Bread and butter (they give nothing) - lots of pasta sauce - Traditional Spaghetti with meat sauce. - a side salad - Coffee/Capuccino They charge 18 for regular spaghetti with arrabiata sauce. They have Ragu which is their meat put on pasta with Zero Sauce. They refuse to serve any bread or even put sauce on the Ragu. I would never come back here since I like traditional Italian and I love bread with spaghetti and meat sauce which I couldn't even get here. This was the most bizarre experience I ever had at an Italian restaurant. And they are a Tipping Free Restaurant but change 16 percent flat gratuity!!! Makes No Sense being Tipping Free but then charge that!!!!! Stay Away!!!!

Yelp
First time at a Uovo location and it didn't disappoint! Located at The Sportsman's Lodge, it's the newest addition to this trendy Studio City food and shopping complex. Showed up at 5:30ish and the wait for two at a table was already up to 1.5hrs (Uovo doesn't do resos - first come, first served). We got lucky and managed to get seated at the bar within 15 min. We preferred it that was as first-timers, as we got to watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen. The ambience is intimate and moody, with wood featured throughout the space. The bar itself made of a huge, rustic cross section of wood, complete with hanging hooks for jackets or bags underneath. We opted for the Regional tasting menu for two, which included battuta di carne (steak tartare); ragu; tortellini in the cheese sauce (there's a broth option you can choose as well); amatriciana; and tiramisu (the acting manager asked us if we had nut allergies prior to serving us the tiramisu as it had hazelnuts). Everything was cooked to order as you finished each portion and it was sooo delicious. Did I mention the pasta is literally flown from Bologna, Italy overnight?! We also ordered the broccolini and cauliflower - both were very tasty. It was nice to have veggies in between to break up the pasta experience. Our server Aubrey was incredibly nice and the manager had the place running efficiently and tight. The chef who was preparing meals closest to us was super nice as well and happily answered our questions about his cooking process. Would happily come back!! Come right at opening to ensure you get seated quickly. First 90 mins parking in the lot are free!

Yelp
My wife and I had Uovo for the first time and it did not disappoint. We went for lunch and decided to go with the Regional Tasting Menu which comes with Battuta di Carne as the starter, and the three pastas are Ragu, Tortellini, and Amatricana and a Tiramisu al Cucchiaio. Everything on the tasting menu was delicious. Our favorite was the Tortellni is amazing! We also had some Pinot Grigio which went great with the pasta. Service was great, our server was kind and checked on us throughout our time there. The food came out quickly. The restaurant itself is quite small but has a nice atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable as well, $34 per tasting and the portion sizes leave you feeling satisfied. There is 16% fee that is added on your bill so just be aware of that. Overall, I highly recommend!

Yelp
I visited UOVO on a Friday afternoon and securing a table was a breeze! The restaurant is situated in a lovely plaza, exuding a cozy ambiance with dim lighting. Their drink selection is limited to wine and beer; cocktails are not available. The server was friendly and accommodating. The service is super fast! Opting for the Pomodoro, I received a confident recommendation from the server, and it lived up to expectations. The dish was cooked to perfection--neither overcooked nor undercooked--with just the right amount of sauce, free from dryness or greasiness. I can't wait to return to try more dishes from their menu. In fact, I am already tempted to order the Pomodoro again; it was truly exceptional!

Yelp
Really really good pasta, great service, moody low-lit date night atmosphere. (Can sometimes feel a little too dark.) Bit of a special occasion gourmet spot, not a touristy red sauce place so don't go in expecting huge boats of spaghetti and meatballs and a loaf of garlic bread. Go for a tasting menu option if it's your first time. The ragu is top notch, as is the crudo. I will say, I'm a little confused as to why they would ship fresh pasta in from Italy instead of just making it in-house, but whatever. It's really good so I guess it's working. Since the vague 16% service fee is not a gratuity, I hope the staff is being paid well.

Yelp
This place has been one of our new finds in the SF Vally, and it did not disappoint! We loved the cozy little dinning room, which is mostly a bar setting, with the kitchen behind the bar (you see the food cooked fresh made to your order, right in front of you). As far as service, it was exceptional all around.

Yelp
I was here with a friend on a business dinner and we came here on her recommendation. I was blown away. We sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. They made sure we had everything we needed and were not intrusive. It is nice to see everything done right in front of you. The food was on point and we both couldn't get enough of the Tiramisu' al Cucchiaio. Definitely a MUST to cap off an excellent meal.

Yelp
You really have to love pasta to appreciate this place. The quality is there and the ambience is nice. We did the truffle and cheese tasting menu. The yellowtail crudo didn't seem to fit the rest of the meal. I would have rather had a meatball or similar. Tiramisu was the worst I've had in my life. It comes in a tiny cup and you have to share. It should just be served as a cake on a plate. Skip dessert and go to Anita gelato down the street. Service was good, but the concept is a bit pretentious for what you get.

Yelp
I had an exceptional dining experience at Uovo From the moment we walked in, the service by Nicole was impeccable. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. As for the food, it was simply divine. Every dish we ordered showcased authentic Italian flavors. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends. The attention to detail in both service and food quality

Yelp
made in italy, consumed in LA Uovo, Los Angeles, California @uovopasta * If you are visiting LA, Uovo is something to add to your bucket list. I am so impressed with the freshness of the pasta, as well as the quality and flavor. WOW. We did the tasting menu, which serves 2 and was $37 per person for an appetizer, 3 pastas, & a dessert (amazing). I also appreciate the open kitchen and the lively atmosphere of the restaurant. * - Yellowtail Crudo - Fresh fish. Light appetizer. Perfect way to open the palette. * - 1. Tagliatelle in Truffle Sauce - My favorite. Made in the traditional cheese wheel, I was impressed how melt-in-your-mouth delicious it was. Every bite was an explosion of flavor, yet the perfect balance of cheese and truffle. If I could perfect my homemade truffle pasta to taste like this, I would probably never eat another meal again. * - 2. Pomodoro: Classic yet delicious. The sauce was light and airy. At this point, I started to feel full and then discovered a whole other pasta was coming our way. * - 3. Cacio e Pepe: Peppery and delightful. Enjoyable consistency. After a few bites of this one, I felt like I was going to explode from how full I was. * - Tiramisu (not pictured) - By this point, I was so full. I stomached a few more bites but it was smooth and rich. I liked it (and I usually don't like tiramisu)

Yelp
Finally got to try Uovo, which is famous for flying in their pasta in overnight from Italy. Which feels a little wasteful and gimmicky, lol, but the pasta was definitely very good and fresh tasting. This is the location in Sportsman's Lodge, a great little shopping center. Free parking for the first 90 minutes. Ambiance wise, it's a small spot and very dark. There's limited tables, but the majority of the restaurant is a bar facing the kitchen and you get to watch the cooks work. These are very simple pastas designed to let the noodles really shine, and they succeed in such. I tend to like a more complex pasta, but I appreciated the change of pace with the simplicity here. Our service was great, and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that this is a no tipping establishment. Instead, there is a flat 16% fee added to checks, which was nice. I like when they take that out of the equation.

Yelp
Amazing food, great service and beautiful ambiance. This place has it all! They also offer one of the best priced Italian menus I've seen in Los Angeles. The only downfall for this restaurant is the size. It's a bit small inside and it's first come first serve so be prepared to wait for a little bit. We had a large party so we waited and hour and half but it was so worth it. I'm going to attach pictures, we had the truffle and cheese prefix and it was the perfect tour of the menu. I highly recommend doing the prefix if you have another person to try it with. Pro tip, order an extra tiramisu because they are amazing but small and the prefix only comes with one. So glad I found an amazing pasta restaurant so close to home!

Yelp
To be fair, the beauty in Italian food is simplicity, which I do feel like Uovo hits. But I just wasn't blown away by either the portions, price, or service so I couldn't justify a 4/5 star rating. If you're looking for a truly no frills place for pasta with a nice vibe, this could be a good fit for you! The pastas are basic with mainly the noodle and sauce, cooked fresh to order. Everything tasted quite delicious, but the portions left me still hungry for ~$16-20 plus tip/tax. The vibes are nice with candles sprinkled around! There are limited tables, so most of the space is bar seating surrounding the open air kitchen.

Yelp
TLDR: 5/5 - Get the tasting menu, come early, and be prepared to have a dining experience for a really good price. I've been meaning to come here for ages and the only reason why I haven't is because you really should get here early. Its good they are open all day so you're not confined to being here between lunch and dinner hours but we did get here at five and they were still at a lull which was perfect. Tasting Menu: Cheese & Truffle $37 pp I believe you both have to get the same tasting menu but it comes with 3 pastas, one app and a dessert. Like bruh bffr. One dish a lar carte is around $18. To me totally worth it to get some variety. Note: All the pasta was pretty al dente so if that's not your vibe.... Yellowtail: 4/5 I am a big raw fish person but olive oil on my yellowtail was a new taste for me and I wasn't mad at it at all. Truffle: 5/5 Our bff new friend truffle. I'm not going to lie I never got on the truffle hype train and frankly its always too overbearing in a flavor that is already loud. With that being said, this was perfectly executed. Pomodoro: 4/5 A red sauce isn't really my go to but I can respect the craft when i see it. This was very good, quite light actually Cacio e Pepe: 5/5 Also do not understand the hype around Cacio but if this is what it's really suppose to taste like I'll have more of that! The pepper on this alone was insane I swear he only twisted the grinder twice but it was here to stay! Sauce was delightful with the perfect amount of cheese, ugh loved. Tiramisu: 4/5 The best I've had? No but!! I did love the execution. Not shareable unless you really know them (because they only give you one) and I'd advocate for longer spoons Service: 5/5 Such a friendly staff! Amanda our server was always checking in on us after every meal. An empty plate did not sit there for more than 30 seconds after our last bite. Trevor (maybe travis) our chef timed out our courses perfectly I don't know how they do that. Thank you all! Note: - My only note is that I think what makes it so packed so quickly is the layout of the restaurant. They are an open kitchen with bar seats around it and tables on the side to display the cooking in front of you but it does limit a lot of seats. I wouldn't necessarily call it a negative because I get the intention but if you are expecting a more...normalized dining experience to bring a date or your 4 kids, this might not be the most optimal arrangement. The total was just shy over $100 for two. I personally don't think that's bad for what they're giving you at all!! Incredibly worth it and I'm excited to come back!
