Horrible and poorly managed nightclub. Waited outside for over an hour even though we reserved and paid for a VIP table. MAJOR PROFILING! They pick and choose who they want to let in. Others with VIP tables were able to get in right away but some had to wait. They charge different entrance fees based on how you look. My friends all got charged different fees. They don't have the downstairs bar open, which caused upstairs to be extremely crowded. Drinks are way too expensive. DON'T GO HERE IT"S NOT WORTH IT.

Every person saying that the staff is racist is lying because they are very diversified themselves. But, we had a table with a group and paid almost 8000$ which is normal for a nice evening at the club, so the problem is not there. The waiter came at the table and dropped all the trash from the table in my glass that I had on the table, (black lady with an afro), when i asked for a new one a few times, she didn’t come back. Unacceptable for that price. The club is nice though, but I just want that lady to get fired for her crappy service, don’t give her tip, don’t let her manage the table. If the manager of the club is reading this, let that lady know that she just made the club lose very good clients that very much contribute to the revenue of the club.

The staff is extremely rude to patrons. The bathroom attendant in the women's bathroom berated me and a friend because a drink was spilled. We politely asked for paper towels to clean up the drink and she continued to yell at us, refusing to give us anything to clean the mess (the floor was already soaked because of other drinks that were spilled mind you). She then threatened us, saying that she would "remember us when we came back, and we will be back". Not sure what she was planning on doing if we returned, but needless to say we did not return to the bathroom. After this happened, I was waiting for a friend upstairs when the bouncers were shoving someone out. I moved out of the way so that I wasn't in the bouncer's path, however they still somehow found a way to shove me into a wall and out the door. My whole entire back is bruised due to this incident. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a club and I will not be returning.

Google
The upstairs dj literally only played Drake and the drinks are insanely overpriced. The downstairs part had way better music and the crowd was way more chill. The staff is very rude and they just walk around with flashlights yelling at people the whole time. Pretty much just don’t go if a promoter doesn’t get you in cause you’ll be charged for everything. So if you like Drake and paying over $20 for one drink then this is the place for you

We entered into an extremely packed club, led by a gracious hostess who led us up to a private table with seating. The service was outstanding, the DJ was on point, security was extremely attentive. They made sure that our group and the birthday girls were well taken care of. This is a spot I would recommend for a birthday bash and will hopefully return again. Thank you guys for everything.

Google
We had an entourage of big spenders and made sure we had a good table. Unfortunately the service is the worst I’ve ever seen for a NYC club/lounge. I spoke to the manager and promoter to no avail (both were on ego trips). We spent close to 12k and would never waste that type of money here again. Avoid This spot there are dozens of better spots in the city.👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I tried to enter tonight because I wanted to visit the place since so many people talk about it. First they had no private party or anything because before I called, I already found out everything before arriving because well, being at the door I was going to pay $ 20.00 to enter and in what I am taking out the money came a safety a fat and hairy talking to me badly that I moved and to take me off the line, I moved because I thought someone was going to happen but it was not like that. I meant that I wanted to get out of the line. I moved and I felt very bad for his treatment because I was very well dressed and willing. to pay my money for them to be so rude, the truth is a place of great fame but with very bad service of their securities.

Terrible place!!! Do not come here ever!!!!! Gross people. The manager is on a power trip and is on a gross guy. This place is racist, sexist, and horrible!!!!! I was here with my home town friends for a bachelorette and accidentally stumbled into the manager and was told " I stumbled into the wrong guy" and got escorted out and had to go home. The bouncer and manager booed me and told me to go home. It was bizarre and disgusting behavior. I have lived here and been part of NYC nightlife for years and have never been treated with such disrespect and disregard. Skip this place and go to the tremendous amount of great places NYC has to offer!

Yelp
Up & Down is basically what happens every time Bae gets on top of me. Really horrible reviews for this nightclub - maybe because it's expensive or cuz the bouncers aren't friendly?' We didn't find it to be too bad, but then again we didn't have to pay to come in here and we were only here for about 20 minutes, so maybe I just didn't have any of the bad experiences. I'll give it a neutral rating but I do not like the deli next door.

Yelp
Truly one of the worst club experiences I've ever had, would never recommend. For starters, my friend had a promoter who shuffled my group to the front (8 girls, 1 guy), where we waited another 15-ish minutes. Then, all of us were let in, except for the birthday girl of our group and her boyfriend who were at the end. After 45 minutes of bouncers letting their friends in and telling my friends that the club was at "max capacity," they finally got in at 1:15 am. Within an hour, I got 3 drinks spilled on me, and a guy fell on top of my group when we were sitting on the lounge chair. Floor was horridly sticky. Throughout the entire night, literally every 5-10 seconds, people were elbowing and shoving me/people in my group as they tried to shove past. The worst were the bouncers, who probably felt entitled to pushing us aside and shining flashlights right into our eyes. No one ever tried to say sorry or excuse me. Music was also bad. Downstairs had a couple of recognizable mainstream songs, like Clarity and Higher Love, but most of the time I had no idea. Ground floor was the same. 1 out of like 15 songs were good, like In My Feelings, but rest were Spanish songs and other random songs I've never heard of. Plus DJ sometimes sang/talked along with the songs...unnecessary and just bad. Other details: Saturday night, arrived 11:50 pm, got in around 12:15 am and was charged $10 cover per person because it was past midnight. They do "accept credit card," but there's an additional $5 "transaction fee." I was able to get in wearing a white sweater, black jeans, and white sneakers, when most of the girls were in dresses and heels or heeled boots.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I didn't want to come here in the first place based on all the other negative yelp reviews (which are accurate), but since a close friend from LA wanted to go there for one of her only nights in town, I agreed. As it turned out, my friend's brother was friends with one of the promoters, so that's what drove her decision to come to this place. Once me and one of my guy friends showed up, our other friends were already inside. There were about 5 or 6 guys in black suits manning the door/line. We located our friend's brother in the line and he told us to get in line with him, so one of the guys in the black suit moved the gate to let us in the line with him. Within about 10 sec a different doorman came over and started yelling at us telling us we couldn't cut in line and to get over to the side of the road. We moved out of the line immediately, but the guy kept yelling at us to get closer to the road. Eventually, I yelled back that it was a public sidewalk and to relax. We were then told that we were being rude and would not be allowed in. The back and forth on this went on for about 30 mins. By the end of it I faked an apology and we were allowed to get in line. A little while later our friends came out (after we told them what happened) and said it was lame inside anyways (awful music/lame in general) and not crowded at all so couldn't even understand why the line was so long (probably just to make it look exclusive). We all decided to go somewhere else. I could tell pretty easily who frequents this club just from observing the people in the line: bridge and tunnel crowd, girls celebrating their 22nd birthday (she had balloons that said "22"), people from out of town, guys looking for a girl to roofy, losers that probably still live in their parent's basement, etc. Definitely not a place any people that actually live in Manhattan would choose to come to (including myself). The doormen were the rudest I've ever seen. I can guarantee this is the only time in their life they've felt like they have "power"- which is pretty sad because they're manning the door at a 1 1/2 star club. It literally felt like the scene from the movie Knocked Up when they go to the club, only worse.

Victor M S.

Yelp
This place is THE perfect example of one of the most overrated places in NYC you SHOULDN'T go to. The bouncers aren't helpful, rude, want to fight everyone, and have no idea what they're charging at the door. They will charge guys $60,$80, $100 or more based on how you LOOK. Drinks are overpriced and watered down and the music is horrible. The venue staff don't know how to treat customers at all and have no idea how to control a line outside because there are always fights. Save your money, there are hundreds of other places you can have a lot more fun at with better music, cheaper drinks, and friendly staff.

India M.

Yelp
Fairly confused about the poor reviews of this place. We got a promoter on Eventbrite for a night out, and we got in perfectly fine. We had a group of 9, 4 guys 5 girls. We waited outside for a bit until the entire group arrived. The group wasn't just us, the promoter fills the table with about 20 people. This is just how the system works, you can't expect to get an entire table for just your group. Guys had to pay 60$ to get in. Again, this isn't super abnormal for NYC clubs, especially ones where celebrities have attended before. The bouncers aren't super friendly, but AGAIN!!!!!- that is to be expected. We got our table and there was more than enough room for everyone and it was a lot of fun. We got unlimited drinks for everyone all night (which made the $60 well worth it for our group). The club is very loud, so be warned. However, it IS a club so that should be expected. Don't go here on a Saturday night for a lounge experience, as it's more of a wild dance club. If you want to dance the night away and get drunk, this is the place! We had a lot of fun!

Lera F.

Yelp
Okay, for some reason, I still think this place is in the East Village..probably because it's not very fancy. Public is a bit more regular/hipster rather than dressy like the rest of West Village, and the insides of the club are not really special in any way. It lacks the lighting and smoke of Lavo or the dancers and open area feel of Marquee, for instance. Layout is two floors (I think), one house (1st) and one more pop and rap (2nd). I actually liked the second more, it was a bit more happy/upbeat and easier to dance to. Both floors were packed though, and both had bars. The drinks (had couple vodka red bulls) were decent as well - strong enough ^^ Also, our training class crew had a load of people (200 total, and maybe half of us made it there) and all of us got in. Initially we were on the guest list but just got waved in once there, so don't think it would've mattered. But yea, this place gets props for letting us all in! We ran the club for the night and had loads of fun :)

Yelp
Only been here twice, will never go again! Staff is wildly rude, drinks are expected to be overpriced at a place like this but doesn't help with a negative staff experience. Coat check is $5 which is absolute trash, and don't make any comment about it or else the lady who works that station will hold a grudge on your existence until the end of time. I'll also note that while having a night out with my friends I was constantly berated and physically pushed around by men (this like, overweight dude literally screamed in my face and said WHO ARE YOU ANYWAY as if he were an A-lister who owned the general admission section filled with bros and underage chicks) yet I was the one who got kicked out because a literal bottle girl (blonde, short... nothing else remarkable to note) lied and made and scene and said I pushed her. I don't recall anything of the sort happening but she obviously had an issue with me enjoying and dancing with my friends and she pulled her weird entitlement card to make herself feel better. I'm literally a skinny 5'6" chick and that tool literally sent 4 security guards, male and female to escort me out of the club. While I tried to reason with them and let them know that there was no situation that warranted this, the woman security guard called me a b*tch and, said I deserved to get kicked out and tried to put her hands on me to get out of the club. I'm never the type of person who cares about clubbing in spots like that anyway, so I'll happily take my money, time and patronage to a place that's actually cool and of value.

Yelp
My score: -20/10 Sooo where do I even start off with this shit hole place... I wouldn't even recommend this place to a homeless guy. I have been to lots of clubs, places in Miami, Vegas and others in NYC but I have NEVER experienced such rude, pretentious assholes. The bouncers were extremely offensive and ill-mannered. My friends and I (4 girls and 1 guy) were let in and they charged by friend who is African American $80 FOR A COVER FEE. Even though we had a promoter that said we were able to be let in, he was so useless. We were all let in and literally within 40 seconds the owner of the club, decided to kick us out because we were "accidentally" let in the club. The owner never met us, so I have no idea why he decided to kick us out. They made up a bunch of excuses to kick us out and lied about us. They grabbed my friends and I and threw us out and they never refunded my male friend with his $80!!!! I began to question the bouncer if we can go back inside and he said, "sorry, but your group has been "86'd" meaning that we can never be let back in into the club and/or we are never allowed to the club ever again. And I was so confused because we paid and we had proper IDs and nice attire. I kept asking them what was the actual problem and if we can get our money back and the bouncer kept saying, "the situation is over with, please leave." In conclusion, the club was super racist to begin with and they had a problem with our race and skin color in the first place. They also mooched off money from my friend and kicked us out within the first minute! The cops came as well to the venue because there was some ratchet fight going on inside. I asked the cop if they can help us out but they were also so fucking useless. The club literally has the cops in their pockets which is so sketchy. Overall, this club is has the rudest bouncers especially the old black woman bouncer who needs to shove a cactus up her ass. Very very poor mannerism and incredibly inconsiderate management. I wish this place burned down.

Monica T.

Yelp
The space is very nice for a nightclub/lounge setting & you can dance here, which I always like. I came to an event with my friend, which was apparently for Ivy League graduates but nobody asked me to verify that. We hung out, mingled, got seating. I like the decor and would definitely have a dance type event here though it got really crowded later on. I had no issues and if invite some event where I didn't have to pay, I'd go back. I can't speak on alcohol or staff since I didn't have those experiences when I went.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
OK let me try to fit all the things I don't like about this place: - $40 cover for a woman - $25 drinks, additionally they charge you tax and tip (yup they just tip themselves without telling you, probably because their service is so bad they know you wouldn't give them a tip) - All of that does not even cover you coat check! There goes another $5 Be prepared to waste $100 and hang out with some super rude pretentious bouncers and bartenders, honestly the worst I've seen

Karen R.

Yelp
It was $20 to get in for girls and the black female bouncer downstairs with braids was rude. She wanted me to tip her because she told me about a stupid shark painting on the first floor wall! Are you serious? Just because I'm wearing a Gucci purse doesn't mean I will throw money at just anyone! The bouncer actually called me a "b*tch" because I refused to tip her lol - excuse me? You work for me. Good thing I have a tough skin or else this would have ruined my night. Lots of wasted white girls and creepy dudes that grab your ass without permission!

Noelle C.

Yelp
We had a promoter, and they charged my brown friend and I (black) $20. Our 2 white friends were just let through. We're all girls. Got really dolled up for this, and I shouldn't have. It just sucks to be a second rate citizen because of your skin. Honestly Up and Down is about to make the movie White Chicks a real life thing. Got a table and free drinks all night. Tequila and cranberry wasn't bad! But still one star for...you know.

Zbigniew G.

Yelp
I was admitted into the club late Saturday night after waiting 10 minutes and paying $80 cover. If you're a wealthy rapper or celebrity, this is the place to go; you can reserve one of the sofas and buy buckets filled with vodka bottles, and the pretty girls will flock to your side. If you're either regular folk or older than 30, stay home and watch TV instead. Me, I'm 45, and all the women (all very beautiful) would look at me as if I was an obsolete appliance like a CD player or a tube TV. They were all very rude when approached and just wanted to twerk on the alleged celebrities' down-there bits and drink their vodka. Another point: to enjoy this place you really need to like rap, gangsta etc - that's all they played all night. Everybody sang to the top of their lungs, and I just stood there looking like a wallflower since I don't know any of those songs. I guess it's off to the retirement home for me...

Carlo P.

Yelp
Some dude wearing a t-shirt is deciding whether you get in or not based on the number of "hot chicks" you have in your party. If the ratio of females to males is not 5:1 you get a "I can let you in with a $60 cover x person and a $200 minimum tap, but I'm really doing you a favor" kind of charity. I would not recommend this establishment.

G. M.

Yelp
All the employees are very rude. I got hurt because of them. I have many criticisms about this place. I want to start by saying that I don't drink, and this review is not coming from someone who is drunk and disruptive. I consider myself a reasonable person. I went to the club for NYE ready to dance and have fun. I tried to check my coat, but it was full, so I tried again an hour later. When I asked the coat check lady if there was room, so gave me so much attitude that I gave up. At one point, I was in the stairwell, and an employee pushed me aside to let a "high profile man" through. I fell down a couple stairs and hit my head. I should sue him for what he did. I got so mad, and I approached him to tell him what he did. In the end, I got kicked out for making too much noise about his assault.

Joelle G.

Yelp
I had a really good time here with a friend for a fashion week party. He made the night cool cause in general, this place sucks. One bar had a 2 drink minimum while the other one didn't, people were extremely aggressive & pushy for no reason, the music was blah. People needed to chill the eff out. The situation was not that serious. The place itself is 'meh' Conveniently located, but a true yawn & snore spot. *places the mic on the floor & takes a nap*

Liz C.

Yelp
***Great space, Standard drinks, Decent music*** I came here for a holiday party and was impressed by the large space and quick service by the bartenders. However, the music wasn't that great so I wasn't that impressed. I would definitely check this out again on a weekend night to see what the vibe is like.

Nicole C.

Yelp
It's a fun place to go out if you have a promoter. Otherwise I would steer clear. Drinks are extremely expensive if you don't have a table. It's your typical club environment and a pretty young crowd. I thought the music was good but it got a bit too crowded around 1am. It was decently clean in the bathrooms which is a plus compared to other clubs. Overall, a fun place to party if you are into the nightclub scene.

Skyler F.

Yelp
Great music and tons of dancing. This is the type of crowd that is there to party, not just to be seen. The drinks were strong and tasty. This has become a go to spot for when I'm in town. One thing though is the line can be really long on big nights. I recommend finding a club promoter who can potentially get you in. I called Adam (929-354-7877) who helped me get a party of friends in. He's my pro tip promoter if you want to get in with your friends. Last, go into it to have a good time. A trip here can be a great memory.

Jefferson T.

Yelp
The worst spot I've been to in NYC after 5 years of living here. Why? - bouncers with attitude - terrible lines for no reasons - sketchy management Truly one of the worst locations you could pick in NYC.

Mai-Lanni B.

Yelp
This club is the worse club in ALL OF NYC. I've been to tons of clubs in the city and bouncers are generally assholes but the bouncers are on another level of rude. Basically my boyfriend and his friends bought a table for their boys birthday. I have six girls with me so we came maybe ten minutes after the boys got in. They kept making us switch from three fucking lines. My boyfriend and his friend came out to help us, the bouncers gave them the run around and finally said whoever paid for the table had to get us. So they got the other guy and told my boyfriend and his friend they were not allowed to be outside with us anymore. We waited some more and now everyone is getting frustrated because we're drunk and cold and don't understand what's the hold up because we're on the list. My friend asked the bouncer what the problem was and if it was a race thing. Two minutes later we're told we're not allowed in at all because we disrespected the bouncer and to leave. It was so rude! I left with my friends and hung out else where but I had to come back because my boyfriend was in there. I tried to go in and they literally laughed in my face and told me to leave. At one point one of the bouncers said I was annoying him and to stop talking to him. I couldn't fucking believe their mouths!!!! I tried to explain my boyfriend was the only person in the city I knew and I was stuck without him and they continued to try to make me look like a fool. The last attempt my boyfriend came out finally and tried to get me in with money. They told him that this was just a lesson learned for me, that one person represents the whole group and I should watch who I associate with. The only fucking lesson I learned is I'm never going here again. I'm telling you, ITS NOT EVEN WORTH IT! The bouncers here want to be all in control and feel like they have this power over everyone coming in, it's honestly disgusting! To top it all off, I heard the place wasn't even a good time inside. NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!

Nadirah H.

Yelp
It's one of those nyc pretentious clubs where they try to be picky about who they let it. I tried to come once with my boy cousins they didn't let us in. But I have some super pretentious work buddies that know people so I got in being with them one night. It was ehh ok. Nothing too amazing, the dj played top 40. Which at this point in 2017 your not a dj if you just spin top 40. Even though it was lame I still was able to dance and end up in VIP with some rich guys. The bathroom attendants are sweet also I had a great conversation with them

Kealani S.

Yelp
So I'm giving This spot one star which is something I rarely do. Be prepared to dress up, impress the doormen/ know the doormen, or know / be on someone's list to get in. The venue is TINY, super cramped, and the crowd isnt impressive. Sitting at a table and bottle service is the only way to go as fighting a crowd to get to the bar is definitely a waste of time. There's much better spots to go out clubbing at, skip this one!

Hadassa S.

Yelp
Good times. I love Up & Down. The atmosphere and decor is super cool. I understand why some people may not enjoy it as the security is tight and it may be difficult to gain entry and have a good time if you don't have connections or intend to buy bottles... Nonetheless, I've been here a handful of times and each time was a night to remember. Sometimes the DJ's they choose are way off the mark and they play some out of touch music nobody knows. It's very dark inside and I've literally slipped and fell once. Thankfully I wasn't badly hurt despite feeling so sore the next day and the security promptly helped me up and made sure I was okay but if I were 30 years older I could've broken a hip!

Giovanna E.

Yelp
Before writing the review I decided to take a look at the other reviews and I am disgusted to find out that my story is not the first time this has happened! It seems to be second nature for the bouncers and everyone who works here to be misogynistic, homophobic and utterly rude. I don't understand all of the celeb buzz around this place, maybe they can afford to spend a lot of money on celebrity appearances because it was 30$ for girls and 45$ for guys just to get in! The drinks are small and expensive and the music that the dj plays sounds like he just has top radio hits on shuffle. Long story short my 3 friends and I walked into the club (2 girls 2 guys 1 of them happened to be gay) we got a few drinks decided to go outside for a smoke break and when we tried to get in we were called liars that we have never been inside and if we wanted to re-enter we would have to pay again. We had a video proving that we were all in there not even 10 min prior so they let the 2 girls in and the 1 guy but had no recollection of my other friend being in the club he happened to be gay I paid my tab and we left! This place f*cking sucks shouldn't be charging that much money for a literal rat hole. They are homophobic and rude and there's a special place all of the bouncers and this place belongs... hell

Jalize C.

Yelp
Overrated. One corona is $10. I can only imagine how much mixed drinks are. You can go with a promoter, but expect 20 other girls to be with that promoter also. So enjoy your one free drink if you manage to pour yourself one before it's all gone. Good music but no one dances. Also, don't bother inviting a guy friend unless he has $500 to drop on a bottle just to be allowed in.

Andrew F.

Yelp
Place is a complete scam. Pay 50$ to get in with a promoter and get "bottle service" bottle service at this place is some guy in a hoodie pouring a half shot of cheap vodka into a glass and mixing it with juice for 10-30 people who paid for "bottle service". The promoter Sashi is lucky he had protection of 40 security guards because a crowd of about 30 people wanted to fight him for blatantly scamming them. If I ever see Sashi out in public he will be walking with a permanent limp and missing teeth. Other than that the place is a dump, over crowded and weird vibe. Also if you go to bathroom don't wash you hands it cost 10$ to get a paper towel after.

Lauren H.

Yelp
0 stars went last night with my boyfriend. We ordered a bottle but never received the bottle at which point it was getting late and we just wanted to go. My boyfriend went to cancel the order to which they refused to give his license and card back. They made him PAY for alcohol he DIDNT get. What kind of an establishment does that. Don't waste your time or money here. Plenty of bars and nightclubs in NYC with less sleazy management.

Lauren C.

Yelp
If Yelp gave me one opportunity to rate a place zero stars I would use it on this place. If you have any self respect do NOT come to this overrated, homophobic, misogynistic (for some reason celebrity endorsed) shit hole excuse for a nightclub. I wish I could tell you I don't go to nightclubs often and that my experience here was somewhat representative of clubs everywhere. But I am from the Miami area, and although I acknowledge that a small amount of douchebag-ery is present in every night club, this place is in own league of awful. In short, this place sucks more than the average club, and there are dozens of other reviews to prove it (seriously scroll down and read them). The bouncers are notoriously homophobic. My friend (who is gay) and I, went outside for a cigarette and were promised by the bouncer that we would be allowed back in after we smoked 10 feet from the fucking entrance. Approximately two minutes later, the bouncer gave me (a young attractive girl) permission back into the bar but magically decided that my gay friend was not allowed back in. I pleaded with him, assuring him that we both paid a $20 cover not twenty minutes earlier. He didn't believe me, so I told him that my card was inside. He let me back in to pay my tab but still refused to let my friend in. We left shortly after I tried to dispute the bouncer and explain to him the situation. He threatened to call the cops and became aggressive with me for no reason. Aside from the bouncer, the club itself is unimpressive and shallow. It had no character, and plays bland music. If you're drinking, expect to pay $14 minimum. There's really no appeal to this place, unless you like to dance in a room full of snobby (underage) people. Also, I just ran into a local bartender close by who had a similar experience as we did, discrimination and all. I will never come back to this place as long as I live.

Yelp
FIRST AGAIN! Fans of Nells and The Plumm Club will love this new iteration of a very popular address in NY Nightlife. I've been here twice, both for private events (once when it wasn't even officially open yet, during Fashion Week in February) and the space is a throwback to those old days when both the upstairs and the downstairs were accessible for partying. Unlike when it was The Darby, with just a downstairs lounge, this place boasts both spaces. It's awesome because you can have two different parties essentially going at the same time, which wasn't the case when I went, but the music was different of course because there were two different DJs. There's also a whole bunch of neon lights everywhere, with a couple odes to a certain rapper by the name of Jay-Z, if you're familiar with MCHG. And if you take the back staircase to head upstairs or downstairs, prepare to spend like 15 minutes there because the lights are really cool so you're going to want to take a lot of pictures. The door is just as hard to clear (if not harder) than when it was The Darby, just an FYI.

Yelp
This place is hood af and ghetto af. I'll never step foot in this trap house again. I had to go reluctantly after a Nyfw show and my god this place is terrible. The bouncers were ready to fight everybody, everybody was trying to fight the bouncers. I kid you not, someone rode up on a bike wearing a T-shirt and jeans around his knees and they let him in....ten minutes later he's in a full blown fight with the bouncer. This place is a glorified trap house. There are hundreds and hundreds of bars, lounges, and clubs in nyc...this one just isn't it.

Yelp
Walked in for free - the door guy likes Insomnia Cookies. Was there for a good hour or so of dancing. They have a coat check run by Asians so be nice. Didn't have any drinks. The ground floor was busy but there was room to dance. The bottom floor plays the same music but softer, and is better suited for conversation or whatever. I didn't know anyone, so just hung out on the ground floor. Groups of south Asian Indians, regular Asians, lotta white people, some African and African American.

Yelp
Good selection of music, old and new. Obviously go with a promoter. It got crowded around 1:30 on a Friday. I was with a group of friends so didnt really get a Feel for the crowd, but no complaints there. Dont forget to check out downstairs, and the staircase leading there, as well as the lighted cursive on your way out.

Yelp
Bunch of underagers. Low class club. Bouncers and bartenders have no interest in serving the common folk. If you're looking for a good club experience go somewhere else. This place is the closest thing to hell I've ever experienced. And I've been to hell. Not worth the cover charge or hassle

Yelp
One of the WORST clubs I've ever been too. I've been to Bars on the East Coast, Canada, and Europe; and this place was the pits! Staff are extremely rude. I gave a bartender $20 for some drinks and asked to break another $20 and the bartender STOLE MY MONEY. Not even 10 minutes in the club; My poor friend was pushed on the dance floor (since we were packed in like sardines), and a bouncer swooped in out of nowhere. He dragged her out of the bar before we even noticed she was missing. When we rushed outside of the club, clearly distressed about our missing friend, we tried asking a bouncer if they had seen who pulled her out and where she went. Instead of trying to help; the head bouncer told us he knew the information but refused to tell us where our friend was. At that point; fearing for the safety of my friend, I told that bouncer to tell us what happened to our female friend since this bar is a dangerous hell hole. Finally we found her but by the end, I didn't give a rat's ass how tall this mountain of man was; I was going to make it hell for him since he ignored our pleas and put our friend's safety in jeopardy because of his ridiculous ego. Save your money, go somewhere else and actually have fun!

Yelp
Here it is, my first 1 star review. Never thought I'd see the day. A $40 cover charge, a rude bouncer, extremely rude club promoters, and an overcrowded dance floor. Avoid this club if you can. There's so many other places in NYC where you can have fun and actually enjoy your night out.

Yelp
Pretty decent place, I celebrated Halloween here and had an awesome night. I was lucky because I came here for a special event, so I had access to an open bar for only $20, but personally this isn't a place I'd go to on a regular basis otherwise. I was very hesitant to come seeing all these reviews, but with the open bar, figured I'd take a chance and go elsewhere if needed, the drinks would cover the cost and already save me money. I ended up staying the whole night here. It's a nice upscale venue, bathrooms are super clean, but personally if on a regular night, would never pay the price of the cover charge or drinks. I want to give this a 3.5 Stars, but for generosity I'll give it a 4, but can see my experiencing become a 2, if they pulled the price grab move like with everyone else here. I'm normally super flexible and love all sorts of music, but this was the 1st time I wasn't a huge fan of the music, on both floors of the venue. I'm not an expert, but the DJs had terrible beat matching, very awkward breaks and pauses between songs, almost all the songs were trap rap, and not the Future, Lil Uzi, and Travis Scott kind, but like indie scream mumble kind. Of course this could be my taste, but to put perspective, I've enjoyed the music at 90% of the venues I go too, so it's coming from a pretty open music fan. I met some great friends, but some of the people that visit here are cocky and exclusive. A couple of dudes showing off and harassing random folks, although I won't blame the venue, since they technically can't control who does and doesn't come in, too an extent of course. Most folks were cool, chill, and super fun for the most part. I'd come back for specific events, but personally on most nights, think there are significantly better places.

Yelp
This place is gross. They play top 40 music from 2012. The whole place is low-rate. The bouncer woman. She's disgustingly rude. Why do celebrities go here? I'm confused? It makes me question their taste tbh.

Yelp
I was able to get into the club for free (yay!) because my frends and I knew the name of one of the promotors. Otherwise we would have to pay 20-60!!!!!! bucks to come in here. Idk why the cover charge ranged so much but some people in the line outside, which was ridiculously long, paid $60. This place is absolutely not worth $60 bucks to enter especially when there are much better options in this wonderful city. We were located downstairs so my review is only based on downstairs since I did not go upstairs. The decor was nice (but not $60 nice lol) and the DJ was pretty good. I def danced for most of my time there so that was fun. At the bar my gin and tonic cost 18 bucks and there was no top shelf liquor in my glass! If you do want to spend money on drinks use cash because for cards you need a 3 drink minimum which is crazy. This place definitely caters to a certain crowd; well off college students. I still can't believe that a $60 cover charge is a thing like what?! I didn't have to pay and my pockets hurt hearing that! If you do not want to party with a bunch of piss drunk college kids don't come here. However, if you're with a group of people you enjoy and don't mind silly drunk peeps, you should be fine. It makes for great people watching.

Yelp
Tried to go here on Saturday night with a group of 8 girls to celebrate a 30th birthday. We didn't book a table, but with a group of 8 pretty girls this normally isn't an issue. When we arrived, there was no one there, but they made us wait in line to make it appear like there was a wait. Once they decided to move us up to the second part of the line, they told us that it would be a $20 cover per person since we didn't have a promoter getting us in. The bouncer then asked one of the girls her age, and when she said 28 he walked inside. One minute later, the other bouncers got a call from inside, and they asked us to leave the line. We were shocked - this was blatant age discrimination. Would not recommend this club to anyone, ever. Get off your high horse, Up & Down!

Yelp
From California. Went here last night with my gfs. Worst Mistake of our lives. For whatever reason, we forgot to check yelp out before we went. This place was recommended by one of our friends for music. Dear lord, the worst bartenders ever. Was downstairs with this Russian looking lady, mean mugging every single customer the whole time. She was rudeeeeeee af, also overcharged me, did not give me a break down of what I ordered. I kept an open tab, when I got the bill for 3 lemon drops and few shots of Jameson, came up to $200, I asked to speak to a manager, the male bartender beside her, Asian looking with hat on, said "good luck if you can find them". Yes, the managers. I said, "wow, you don't care about your customers?" His response was, "that's right". Wow, if you don't give a care why tf is your miserable a$$ working? I will def be disputing the charges and never ever coming here again. 1 star for Joey the security in the front for taking care of us, besides that. Disgusting club ever. Not to mention, my husband owns a mega night club in California. Worst, worst experience of my life. Worst taste of New York ever. San Francisco is also a hustle and bustle city life and we are 1000000x better in customer service. Terrible.

Yelp
"You bumped into the wrong person at the wrong time" I accidentally tripped and stumbled into the manager of this place. Instead of acting like any normal member of society would, and accepting my apology, the manager snapped his fingers like he was the queen of England to have me escorted out. I feel sorry for him. I would rather spend my entire night playing music from my iPhone speaker on a subway and dancing with homeless people than ever enter this establishment again.

Yelp

Yelp
Can't believe this place is as popular as it is. It's dirty, our promoter was creepy, and the drinks are exorbitantly priced. Their prices are on the order of Hakkasan and Tao but with nothing to show for it. If you find yourself here, ask yourself where you went wrong.

Carolyn A.

Yelp
The upstairs dj literally only played Drake and the drinks are insanely overpriced. The downstairs part had way better music and the crowd was way more chill. The staff is very rude and they just walk around with flashlights yelling at people the whole time. Pretty much just don't go if a promoter doesn't get you in cause you'll be charged for everything. So if you like Drake and paying over $20 for one drink then this is the place for you.

Jeff K.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would. The promoter and bouncers blatantly discriminated against my friend - they literally said she could not go in just because she was chubby. SERIOUSLY??? They let all of us in except her, and said "no, not the chubby one." How do you think that made her feel? They could care less. I'm not even sure if this is legal - but it sucks! We all left - screw them!! How on earth do these people live with themselves?

Matt L.

Yelp
1 Star is too many. Incredibly rude staff outside. Came here for my agency's fashion week party, on time and they were already "at capacity." Was saying bye to my friend in line and the bouncer physically pushed me out of the line and continued using his frame to push me towards the street and asked "why I was in his space." Laughed at him and went to PhD. Great staff there. Don't come here. Go to PhD, electric room, tao or Avenue. Or even artichoke pizza . Basically anywhere but here.

Yelp
Place is very selective so please dress nice and have some girls with you if you are a male. The reserve the right to be selective. Thier drinks are expensive so if you don't want to pay $17 a drink go elsewhere. From time to time you can spot a celebrity, thier music is top notch as they bring in some of the cities best djs.

Hazel K.

Yelp
One star for good music only. Over priced for no reason. I find it dangerous bouncers dont search people prior to entering the club. Someone can easily bring something in and theres a bunch of white girls wasted.
