"UpNorth now serves brunch, including a poutine called the 'UpNorth Drunk Brunch Supreme,' made with hot dog, mushrooms, spicy sausage gravy, and an egg. There are also breakfast dishes like various omelettes and an heirloom tomato tarte with goat cheese and cheddar curds." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

"What It Is: A Canadian-themed cocktail bar in Bushwick Perfect For: Drinks And A Light Bite, Eating At The Bar Bushwick bars are usually either divey or aggressively themed, but Upnorth is neither of those things. It is, however, a Canadian spot, and you might get that sense from the incredibly nice bartenders. One of them gave us an excellent recommendation for a cocktail that we wouldn’t have ordered otherwise. There’s also poutine, a few Canadian beers, and some charming ram taxidermy on the walls, but when it comes down to it, Upnorth is just a great simple bar in the middle of Bushwick’s busiest area (right off the Jefferson Avenue L). We had a burger and some poutine with smoked meat and mushrooms and everything was solid. We’ll be back, mostly so we can substitute tots for the fries in the poutine. The Verdict: We have a feeling this place is going to get pretty busy, so come for Happy Hour with a date or some friends before everyone else finds out about it. We’ve added it to our Bar Hit List." - Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim, Katherine Lewin, Hillary Reinsberg, Chris Stang

"It’s not exactly health food, but it sure does taste good. Facetiously named after the North American Free Trade Agreement, this bar snack ($11) combines elements of the three treaty signatories: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. From Canada comes poutine, but with American tater tots substituted. The dish also resembles Mexican nachos, with its toppings of cheese sauce, sour cream, flavored ground beef, and pico de gallo. Find it at UpNorth, a new Quebec-inspired bar; wash it down with Canadian beers in bottles and on tap." - Eater Staff

They have four separate types of poutine and the large size is perfect when you're craving poutine. The one I went with was mushroom gravy and hot dogs (though you could choose bacon too). It was delicious!!! They also have a good selection of Canadian, as well as American beers to choose from. The space is quite nice and the bar special was an $8 Molson and shot of bourbon. I will definitely be back!!!!

The bartender was kind and explained the terms and liquors on the drink menu that I was unfamiliar with. I ordered poutine which wasn't amazing. While it's nice they have vegetarian gravy available, the fries were soggy, not crispy. My recommendation: Fried pickles. They were the best fried pickles I've ever had. Thin, light, crispy, as they should be!

My favorite Canadian bar!!! All the bartender s are super nice and helpful. Mary is a sweetheart, definitely worth spending money there. Is a bit pricey compare to the other bars around the area but if you looking for something clean and peaceful this is your spot, oh I forgot to mention the food and drinks are amazing!!! If you are in Bushwick you have to check this place.

Upscale, vaguely Canadian themed bar with surprisingly solid classic poutine. The Montreal dog was a bit too fancy to pass as authentic but was pleasantly surprised by those gravy fries.

I like this place, but its not authentic. Its not exactly real poutine as they dont use fresh cheddar cheese curds. Instead its just mozzerela balls. Their gravy is spot on, and so are the fries themselves. If they start using the correct cheese curd they will get 5 stars.

Bar smells a little like pine :) There's not much food besides poutine and one burger. It was my first time having poutine, I really liked it! And the drinks are GREAT. The Rose is a Rose was wonderful, as well as the Fin du Monde beer, and the oatmeal stout, and best of all the Jacky's Hand was creamy and astounding. We went in the afternoon, when it was mostly empty, but even a handful of rowdy people in the space made our conversation hard to hear.

Great place for drinks and eats. This bright, clean, modern establishment has a spacious layout with excellent wood bar and tables just like in Canada. The poutine rules!!! Must try.

Went to UpNorth for poutine.... was confused to find out that although the outside of the building was still decorated as this restaurant, it was bought out and changed to "The Gradient" which is all vegan friendly food. I'm not a vegan but I went in anyways, ate with my vegan roommate, but it wasn't that good because A.) they brought her food out a solid 20 minutes before mine B.) mine was cold when it got to me C.) Weird vibes in the restaurant
