To first note, I was recommended to the Kimberly Hotel’s “The Upstairs” by the most kind, exceptional, thoughtful, caring doormen: Ralph and his colleague Larry. I remember once navigating home with my mobile scooter that I thought I’d need more so later in life, looking quite sad I have to say, and I remember Ralph waving over to me, introducing himself, and brightening my day. After a long year of recovering from an e-bike accident, it was very moving to finally check out the space, and Ralph seeing me standing tall this year. I regret not going sooner! The Upstairs feels like stepping into a time portal: the interior design truly feels timeless, with a spectacular view of the surrounding cityscape. Though it isn’t on a skyscraper level floor, the space is unique in which the rooftop feels more like a speakeasy lounge with less noise and wind, where you can have a more quiet, relaxing rooftop experience, enjoying a scrumptious cocktail with gourmet American/Steakhouse-style cuisine, stargazing on clear nights beyond the city lights, as Turtle Bay is a lot less light polluting 💫 The bartenders are so kind, with amazing staff overall. I appreciate how even when I got a bit tipsy, dancing while the DJ played some deep house tunes, I didn’t feel judged, some patrons giggling along as I waltzed with my champagne. It’s moments like those that make life feel like you’re living instead of just existing—thank you to The Upstairs team, and the gracious, wonderful doormen and staff who truly made an immense difference by such exceptional hospitality.
