Downtown Spot for Crafts and Cocktails Opens Soon | Eater Austin

"Opening in downtown Austin with its first classes on Saturday, March 30, this mini-chain blends a bar atmosphere with guided crafting sessions. It offers reservation-based “project socials” where participants craft while they drink — projects range from easy beaded necklaces to more advanced leather passport wallets, with assistants on hand to help. Pricing runs about $28 during happy hour up to $42 on weekends (weekend sessions include bottomless mimosas). The beverage program is circus-themed and includes cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine; the on-site food selection is minimal (popcorn and a cheese board), but guests can order from nearby restaurants such as Second Bar + Kitchen, Jo’s Coffee, and Taverna. Hours are weekdays 3:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m., Saturdays 11:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m., and Sundays noon–3:00 p.m. The concept began in Denver in 2013, expanded to Minneapolis, and this is the fourth location." - Erin Russell

The staff was super friendly and explained everything really well. We had a blast! I'm giving the cocktails a "4" since there's no food. I'll be back! :)

This is fun! Friendly and helpful environment. They were out of several crafts but with so many options that really didn’t matter. I loved going at my own pace and using the directions to do my own thing. They had everything we needed to do our crafts. I would do it again!!

From the outside looking in, it seems way cooler and more exciting that it was in reality. I was recently there for a private group event, and it just wasn't that great. The décor is eye-catching and makes for good photos. The spacing at the tables is a bit tight. The chairs are not real comfy. The drinks are average (better than a dive bar). The pizza they offer is average. I am glad they do offer pizza - some places don't have food. Also, I was there on a hot day, and the room warmed up fast and the AC was not keeping up. The crafts are OK - but be prepared they are fiddly and you probably won't knock one out that looks like the sample. Also, the staff didn't really explain things to us when we arrived - it was all very disjointed. We had to ask questions and we were trying to understand how things work and what the flow would be. At one point we asked about ordering drinks and we were told (a bit sharply) that we could order drinks when our pizza was ready. So, I get it, they may have been busy or short staffed, but they could have been more proactive and kinder. I understand all the "things" that could be causing an issue, but just tell me/us in a nice and proactive manner. Also, staff never came to check on us, see if we wanted drinks - one of our own sort of became our step-in waitress. I still had fun, but that was in large part to just being there with friends. (Note: They have shared bathrooms, just down a hall. They were clean).

My girlfriends and I had a night out last night. I did a painting and string art, along with a lovely lavender haze cocktail. They don't have a lot for food except for flatbreads, which I did not try. They also said you can order out any food and have it delivered and eat it while you are making your awesome DIY project. They have so many to choose from! It was so much fun and Missy and Ron were super helpful. They resized pictures for us. They helped us figure out our projects and showed us how to start out. We had such a great time!!

I've been here multiple times and it's always been great. Prices are clearly outlined on their website, and happy hour is such a great time since it's usually near-empty on the weekdays. Even on a weekend I didn't feel like I was brushing shoulders with people. Everyone is going to have a different experience with the crafts, but I've enjoyed every single one I've made and I completed them within the time + time to hang out. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

A fun time with a partner or a group of friends! The staff were supremely helpful, supportive, and welcoming. They give you free reign on all the projects and give helpful feedback on how things can be improved. We ordered some drinks while we worked on our projects and my personal favorite was the Daring Daiquiri, while the strongman’s punch was nice I liked the daiquiri a tad more. Pricing is slightly high but you pay for the experience more than anything. Great time to end an eventful Saturday Night.

A great crafting place, with a lot choices to do…A nice place to spend time with friends or family. It’s funny and friendly…Even you can celebrate a birthday here..🎊🥰 We definitely will come back 👍🏼…… Not a place for newborns, you don’t have a place to feed or change the diaper, even in the restroom! Parking is a challenge, you need to find one, and pay!
