10 Things to Do in London in the Summer & Where to Eat Nearby

"Joy and generosity are the tent-poles of this casual sharing plates restaurant situated above its slightly more formal and luxurious sibling. The open-plan kitchen is the focus of the intimate dining room, where everyone sits at high tables and the sound of good cheer fills the air. The visually appealing dishes are packed with distinct, hugely satisfying flavours; many are cooked over fire, like terrific Cornish squid with chickpeas and saffron aioli. Pricing is fair and the service is charming." - Michelin Inspector

Not a first visit, this has been a repeat visit to both Trinity and Upstairs. It's a seasonal menu with some signatures on it. Tempura Jerusalem artichoke, BBQ sand carrots and the scallops were huge highlights along with the tiramisu but everything tasted delicious and you have a fantastic wine selection to match . Can't go wrong with a meal here at Upstairs.

We went for the Sunday Lunch Club on 23rd November and it was nothing less than exceptional! The portions were more than enough with the waiters coming around with leftovers to add to your plate, a lovely non pretentious atmosphere!

Hi, my husband and I had lunch on Saturday as a start to my 42th birthday weekend. A few hours after, we were both nauseous and then developed stomach growling and cramps which lasted through the rest of the day, evening and all night. We had comte bites, scallops, guinea fowl confit, cuttlefish and pork chops. I am terribly disappointed about this as we had a Michelin star meal planned elsewhere for my birthday on Sunday. Unfortunate as this was otherwise good, with a nice warm ambience and good service from the staff. 😢

Brilliant restaurant sitting atop Trinity. The more relaxed eatery of the venue with tranquil views out onto the common, a perfect option for a summer dinner. The food was excellent with great sharing options from oysters to monkfish. The service was top tier and stood out to me due to Jack's (our waiter) impeccable service and kind demeanor. Personal highlight from the night was the BBQ lamb belly squewers which were succulent and flavoursome. Overall a fantastic experience and a great option for a summer day.

Went here for my birthday and they had written me a card — such a sweet gesture! The staff were lovely and made me feel so welcome. I had a seat by the window on a beautiful day. The food was delicious and of high quality.

Hands down, one of the nicest dining experiences we had in London this year! London is densely packed with restaurants, therefore it is difficult to offer something that would set you apart from the crowd. Yes, this restaurant checks all the boxes. The staff is really excellent! They were professional, competent, yet friendly, and they made us feel extremely special! The dishes, cooked right in front of you by two amazing chefs, were really delicious!! We loved every single dish, including the tuna, vitello, croquettes, and seabass. Seriously, this is a great restaurant! Hats off to the entire team; they were fantastic! Jack and Dennis, just to mention a few!

Exceeded my relatively high expectations. Service was excellent throughout our meal with very attentive and friendly staff. The seasonal menu was top quality. Monkfish for main course was the highlight. Good value for the quality and nice wines by the glass for a reasonable price. Would go back!

Yelp
Came by for dinner the other night with super high expectations as it sits on top of Trinity, a Michelin 1 star. Opted for Upstairs as it seemed like a simpler version for dinner as a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Unlike Trinity on the street level, Upstairs was merely air-cooled, which made it for a sweaty and uncomfortable dining experience, even with all the windows fully open. There was an air conditioner that was switched off.. Service from the staff was decent when they were available. It seemed like they were short and only had 2 front of the house staff for the entire restaurant... Staff was able to guide me with suggestions which was helpful. Started the meal off with the black pudding fritters with walnut ketchup and it was lightly fried. I'm not sure I was a fan of black pudding though. Moved on to the devilled crab mayonnaise with little gem lettuce and I also didn't quite understand the dish. I saw little bits of crab inside the mayonnaise but didn't quite understand how it complemented the little gem lettuce?!? Did the BBQ octopus special and was surprised by the huge portion of 2 tentacles. The sauces that complemented the octopus was the highlight of this course. The octopus itself was odd, the skin was on the thicker side and the inside was mushy?!? Ended the meal off with the poached doughnut peaches, peach syllabub and this was the highlight of the meal. The peach syllabub was very light and fluffy. More importantly, it wasn't too sweet. The poached doughnut peaches were excellent. Courses on other tables looked tasty...perhaps I ordered the wrong items? ~£50/head after GST & Service.
