Uptown Pub

We got hungry while walking around Dallas and stopped in to grab a bite to eat. I will say, the building has seen better days, the floor is soft and the door doesn't open all the way. Small place but the service was great and the food was good. Several of us has the chicken tenders and they were more like 3 pounded down chicken breast, juicy and cooked perfect. Others had a salad and we laughed because they came out in what appeared to be small stainless steel dog bowls.

Great service, fantastic staff, and delicious hot wings and fries. I definately have to try the brisket next time.

This is my third time here, every time is amazing. Small cozy place, but they do have a nice size patio area. Dennis is amazing, gives the best drink choice advice. Food is amazing. Will definitely be coming back often.

Fun place to have a couple of drinks and some appetizers! The building is a little smaller and pretty cool. It's a little divey inside, but there's also a nice patio area which is dog friendly. It gets pretty full on a weekend though! Pretty solid selection of drinks and the apps were great!

We happened to walk by and wanted a nice patio to sit on. The food was great and so was our server Dennis! If you like low key atmosphere and great pub food then you should definitely visit!

Summary: Great Vibes Definitely one of my favorite places to go to drink and hangout. It's super casual, good drinks, pretty great bar food, and it's easy to meet people. Definitely recommend sitting outside and getting a bucket.

Awful. Just came in to hang out and chill. Would be a nice place if bartender didn’t tell me if “if I was not gonna purchase anything then I’d have to get out”. Never been to a bar that said that I had to make a purchase or leave. Would have a better rating but that’s HORRIBLE reactions when I didn’t do do anything but ordered water.

Came kind of late, but the bartenders were kind and helpful in ordering our drinks. The outside patio is amazing on a great night, and there wasn’t any traffic or city noises despite being in a public residential area.

Nice little bar in uptown with plenty of indoor seating as well as a large patio. Lots of TVs both inside and outside so it's great for football. Draft beer selection is mostly local and a good selection, and there's tons of bottled and canned beer/seltzers as well as a full liquor selection. Ordered the garlic buffalo fries and the mango habanero wings. The fries were out of this world, great crunch to them, smothered in garlic buffalo sauce. These were an easy 10/10, everyone at the table wanted more. Wings were also solid, the sauce was a great blend of sweet and spicy, and the wings themselves had plenty of meat and were tender and sauced well. Service was quick and never had an issue getting a drink.

Cheap, dirty, smell bad... unfriendly staff. The fact that drinks are handed out in red solo cups. I have lived in Uptown for 10 years. But never walked into this place until now. And I def won't be back. Trash was everywhere. 1 person taking up a massive corner for themselves which was odd. It's a great vibe for washed up middle managers. Who make 70k, and pretend they're cool. When we all know they live across the highway... in all seriousness this isn't it...

We didn't have food, just stopped in for some afternoon drinks. The bartenders were nice. The drinks were good and shots were a good size. Nothing super special about the ambiance, but we were vibing with the 2000s jams on the jukebox. There were several birthdays parties that came in, so clearly it's popular. Not a bad place to hang. We spent about $70 on 6 shots, three beers, two ranch waters, and a vodka soda, which I think is reasonable. The men's bathroom was a bit gross, but hey. That's on the men!

Great atmosphere and a fun time in Dallas! Easily my favorite bar in the area with the strongest drinks. Bartenders are the best!

I come to Uptown at least once a week. One of me and my coworker's favorite spots to go for lunch! The food is always tasty, they have great portion sizes, fair prices, and even offer lunch specials. It has a nice neighborhood bar feel, with a diverse crowd and good tunes! The drinks are always yummy and strong, and they have a great beer selection! All the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and always accommodating. They have a great outside patio to enjoy on nice days, and even have karaoke on Tuesday nights! Would definitely recommend Uptown Pub if you're looking for good eats, stiff drinks and chill vibes with good peeps!

Usually my favorite spot but there was a female bartender in at 7:44 pm w glasses and brown hair. I'm a regular too but got off work late late w just my credit card. She wouldn't serve me, understandable bc i had no id. Two guys younger than me in their twenties I'm in my 40s got asked what they want to drink n they did not get carded. Other regulars got mad. Another bar staff was upset. I had them cancel my order and refund me. I am there at least 2-3 x a week no tip great. I'm friends with the regulars. Look chick i don't know you but you're not consistent or cool. Until there's a resolution of i have management contact me it saddens me to leave a 1 star at what was my happy place.

Another great experience here, we came here on a Wednesday evening before picking our grandson from work, down the street. Heather as usual was awesome and very attentive, she even suggested ordering salmon on my salad, which is not on the menu ;) since I didn't want the salmon burger that day. Tasty and delicious for sure!

Fun, friendly spot! one the best burgers I've had in a very long time. All fresh ingredients not frozen. come see Dennis he's super cool!

Haven't been in several years....but it felt like yesterday when I walked in. Not much has changed, and damn, that burger is good. Great place to grab a bite before catching a movie next door.

Excellent wings! Strong well-priced drinks! Ludicrous decor! Terrible lighting! Rude and weird patrons! Annoyed bartenders! And honestly, better than most spots in Dallas for all the reasons I've listed. Fantastic spot! I would cherish it before some woketopian LA dude buys and ruins it.

The food here was surprisingly good and they service is good too. It is a dive bar, so while the broken chairs and wobbly tables are somewhat expected, it still was a little bothersome. If you're just going to have casual drinks then it's perfect for that.

First time coming in, feels like a dive bar, not what I expected. One person was working at the bar so we sat at a nearby table. There were a handful of other customers in the bar/dining area. The only employee, the bartender, never acknowledged us. To underscore the lack of business, the bartender went at sat a table to check their phone. We left without ever being acknowledged, let alone welcomed.

We come to the uptown pub and have always had Dennis( (who is awesome ) as our bartender ... this time was terrible. The bartender was rude , entitled and mean. I was shocked. I have been here three weeks in a row... now I need a break .... This was the first time I interacted with her. Our ordered were wrong and she seemed not to care

never been before and wanted something new on our lunch list. i had the fried chicken sandwich with tater tots. anyone's tots are great. but the fried chicken not so much. very thin, kinda too brown. it was okay. we also ordered the club sandwich. missing bacon. ham and turken exactly like the kind you buy at the supermarket to put on your kid's sandwich . . . round and processed. not impressed. we will try this place one more time.

The barback tossed ketchup on my dress and socks and shoes and I was asked to leave for complaining about the fact that I had ketchup tossed on a $100 dollar dress... did they offer to have my dress cleaned, absolutely NOT... instead I was escorted off the premises... so if you go there and they don't have any respect for the customer who really pays their bills then ok

Quintessential Dive Bar This places isn't fancy at all, but guess what, they're not trying to be. While it is located in the trendy West Village neighborhood, this place has been, is, and always will be a dive bar. Cheap wells (with strong pours), draft beer, live music, and cheese fries. That's what you get when you get here. I would say a good portion of the patrons are people who make the short walk from Mi Cocina while they wait the hour for their table. Or even after their dinner. Don't really have anything else to say. It's a decent place to grab a drink, and they have a nice patio when the weather is nice, and that's about it. Very relaxed if all you want to do is grab and drink and catch up with a friend.

Great little spot to hang out with a lot of good folks. Love coming in to see MJ and the rest of the gang!

The most amazing bar in uptown. Are you looking for something genuine? This is the place. Lilly and Matthew are absolutely incredible and nothing could compare to the customer service and quality of cocktails that they provide. I highly recommend the buffalo fried chicken sandwich and the chili. It's a home away from home; a real "Cheers" of a bar.

Great staff and really amazing food! Depending on the time, it's always a great vibe.

My favorite bar but had to stop going because the female bartenders are so rude. We tip well and are patient but they make us feel like a nuisance any time we go. I had friends in town and the gm was so incredibly passive and rude that they asked if they did something wrong and she proceeded to kick us out for asking. Really disappointed that most of the great staff we got to know left. "Out of my bar" she said.

Came here on a Saturday night to watch football out in the patio. Cheap drinks, big screens out on the patio, nothing special but what you want of a bar.

I'm giving this three stars because my first time visiting the male bartender was AWESOME!! He was funny, suggested drinks and made them to perfection; he made them so well we decided to return. Upon our second visit I ordered a drink, I was charged the same price but given a smaller size. I took it as my memory was not good and didn't ask about it but when I tried to pay they didn't have my method of payment (Apple Pay). I had to go out and find cash which is impossible because you cannot get cash back with Apple Pay. My friend met me there and we went inside together, I didn't want the drink since it was left so long unattended but we offered to pay for the drink. The female bartender with black hair and thick glasses tried to get an attitude with us and then loudly accused me of not having any money in the midst of us offering to pay. I cannot make this up. She snatched the drink off the bar and threw it in the trash. We left immediately. I recommend this bar for the drinks but make sure you don't get the bitch that has a chip on her shoulder with cheap hair dye. Lucky for us our first experience was great because with that attitude it can be perceived that she doesn't like people of a particular hue and that can make the establishment look poorly.

Stopped by with some friends while waiting on a table at a nearby establishment on a busy Friday night. Upon entering, we were quickly served and got a nicely priced bucket of beers -- 6 for $20!! Total time from entering to having drinks ready was probably less than 10 minutes, and it's pretty easy to go in, grab a quick drink, and head off to your next destination. Only drawback I saw was that seating can be quite limited if Uptown Pub is having a busy night and it may be hard to fit a group larger than 4-5 in those circumstances. Would definitely check it out again the next time I'm in West Village/uptown.

Tried out this place with some friends tonight and the atmosphere was great! Highly recommend the fried pickles and ranch waters

I live on Cole and Lemmon. Go here all the time with my husband. We used to think it was our local pub. Tonight we went to watch the Dallas Stars game and sat out on the patio even though it's raining. My husband went in to grab our beers- wore a mask as requested by the sign on the door. The bartender was not wearing a mask- nbd. But the moment my husband tried to order the bartender gave him hassle for not remembering the name of the loaded tater tots. Okay cool I bet it gets annoying when people don't know your menu. Fine whatever- everyone has a bad day maybe my husband also just rubbed him the wrong way. He asked if the game would be on- bartender said yes all screens. Cool thanks Bartender brings our food out- this time with his mask (runners scarf) pulled over his entire head like hijab. Okay nbd- he must be feeling silly. We order more drinks. We smile we thank him. The bartender then changes the one screen in front of us to football after saying it was policy for anyone that wants to watch the football game. All other screens stay on hockey. There is one table in front of that screen. Ours- it's raining no other tables are going to be filled. (Again we live down the street- we go often- they had all screens hockey game 1) We get the message. We pay- we tip well- we leave. Again- we live down the street. We go around the block- back to the pub- boom. Back on hockey all screens no one at our table. We get it- you don't want our money because I don't know why. Honestly I don't know what I feel about the whole thing. I love this neighborhood and I used to love this pub.

I loved the place. I felt it had a typical old cowboy movie style seating. Bar was pretty small with outdoor patio seating as well. Prices were fairly reasonable. Food was tasty. Fast & friendly service. Will go back again.

Solid 4 stars...3 1/3 for food and 5+ for service. Definitely on the regular rotation! After being completely ignored at a Public House, "hangriness" set in and we made our way to Uptown Pub since we parked close and, once confirming our 18 year old autistic daughter was welcome, our sweaty, frustrated bods made our way to the corner of the room. Don't stop reading...it gets better. Our kid? She's well travelled and a cool cat but I'm not sure that would have mattered because we got five star service from the get. This place would make any dive bar diva happy - great pup friendly patio, cooled by the afternoon shade, attentive servers and a diverse clientele for great people watching (and an online jukebox to boot). Food was exactly what you would expect from a great dive bar - burgers, mozzarella sticks, and quesadillas. Daughter got the salmon burger while I partook of the fried chicken Sammy, and hubs had a cheeseburger - all satisfying and great portions for the $. Server said "come back and ill remember your order" and we will! It was just dive bar diva perfection! Highly recommended for those who want to kickback, enjoy a beverage (or three) with friends, and hang out without pretentiousness!

This is my go to spot. Every time I'm here the staff makes me feel like I'm family. I've never once felt unwelcome here. The food and drinks are great. The staff is amazing. Always tell my friends to visit here when they're in town. Never fails that I hear nothing but great things about this place.

Great low key place to hang out with friends. This place is pretty small but intimate. Typical bar food that was just ok but satisfying. They play good throwback music too! My friend got a beer and the tap ran out 3/4 of the way through so she got a free beer of choice which was very nice! The waitress yelled at my friend for sitting on the table which was odd though but nevertheless our experience was overall pleasant.

1st RED FLAG...ITS UP FOR LEASE, the staff was rude, Looked like they hated their lives, they charge 12.50 for a burger that's worse that a baseball field concession stand could make. Half the people there were drunk, walking around to random tables asking for cigarettes or beer money, and I'm pretty sure the cooks were buying goodies from the locals behind the kitchen. A perfect, chill out patio with good happy hour prices. Food isn't anything to get too excited about. It's typical bar food. You have to go inside to place your order. Drink prices are reasonable and staff is all so friendly. We like it at Uptown Pub.

Come try the BBQ at Uptown Pub!! Very juicy and flavorful!! They are killing it! Come grab some drinks and hangout on the beautiful patio with lots of TVs and killer staff!! Strong drinks and again get you some of Nate's BBQ!!

Honestly would have nothing but great things to say about this place if it wasn't for the sad pretend "security" guy who goes up to tables having fun and asks them to "be quiet" if they're slightly having fun or singing too loudly. You can be loud if he likes the song but if you paid for a song to play that he doesn't like he'll ruin your night and ask you to be quiet .. in a loud dive bar.. which is insane .. the drinks are too shitty to have to deal with that.. people go to uptown pub for a chill place to have fun and get wasted .. get rid of that asshole and it'll go back to being a great place .. you have to be a psychopath to ask people to be quiet in a bar ..

Total dive bar that is cliquish. What a dump. . A true gem. Bad food and rude bar staff. Run away.

A great solid 3 stars. I had to wait for a prescription to be filled across the street at CVS pharmacy. This place was perfect to hang out on the terrace in the shade on a beautiful day while I was waiting. The bartender was friendly and cool as well as the clientele. It feels like a real neighborhood bar compared to all the trendy places that surround it. I'll definitely go back here to hang out if I'm in the neighborhood.

I don't like to admit that there's a girly-girl side to me, but I do get distracted by shiny things, and could spend hours shopping for shoes. I'm a beer drinker first and foremost. When I saw the bellini machine at Uptown Pub, my inner girly-girl came screaming out. I may have even thrown my hands up in the air, and did a "woohoo". I can't help it, I love frozen bellini's. And I'm never anywhere that serves them. Ever. So yeah, they had me at bellini. I was here on a Saturday afternoon, and it was pouring rain outside, so there were not a lot of people around. I hope to come back soon, and experience their kickass patio, and order some food. I'll update when I do. Until then Uptown Pub...

For the amount of times I have eaten here and told friends about it, my three stars might be shocking to many. The three stars come from three main things: inconsistency, service, and cleanliness. Inconsistency: The place has the best wings I have had in Dallas and the worst chili I have had in my LIFE. The drinks are sometimes so strong (yay double pours with single prices) or watered down beyond belief. Their beer selection is underwhelming. The service also leaves A LOT to be desired which leads me to my next point. Service: The people who work here act like they hate their life. You have to order food and drinks at the bar, even if you are seated at a table and trust, you will get glares or snarky comments if they have to come up to you. God forbid! I have stood at the bar for several minutes and had the bartenders outright ignore me and choose to serve other patrons immediately while I wait. Cleanliness: This place is gross. I tried to ignore it for the wings but I just can't anymore. I doubt this place passes their health inspection because the play looks and feels dirty and most of all, SMELLS it. I'm not kidding when I say that this place smells like vomit has seeped through the floor boards and simply won't let up. It is in desperate need of a power wash though at this point, burning it down might be the only way to get that smell out.

Great neighborhood bar! Stiff pours, friendly staff. If you are in the hospitality industry they recognize that and cater to hospitality folk!

Some of the greatest bartenders between Nate, Chuy, Cynthia and Erica. The vibe is really good and if you come on a Friday it's poppin. If you come on Wednesday then you can sing some karaoke and let me tell you it's dope.

Tilted, creaky, plank floors! Wobbly bar tables! What more could a pirate ask for! Hardy-Har-Har! Seemingly low in diversity. Good Chicken Melt sammie and the tots are as tasty as tots can get. Friendly staff, though, only somewhat attentive. Of course, don't expect what is to be expected in Uptown area. I'd come here again but ONLY if I were in the area. I can see this place as being more suitable somewhere where boats dock and where Gramps would go before taking his V-pill!

We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon after a movie at the Magnolia. Greeted nicely by the wait staff, served drinks immediately. Nice patio, strong drink, laid back. Diverse group of customers and even though we're older than most of the uptown crowd, they made us feel welcome. Pub-like, creaky floor, old tables and chairs - perfect for a pub.

This place makes me want to air guitar the four blocks it takes to walk there from my home. It's super laid back and we always get good service from all the staff. Uptown needs more laid back places like this. The patio is my favorite place to be. The menu changes were good and really like the chicken strips.
