Set in the stunning Catskill Mountains, Upward Brewing combines award-winning craft beers and a delicious menu with outdoor adventures on 120 acres, including a hike up the aptly named Beer Mountain.
"When I brought my dog nephew, Chuck, to Upward Brewing Company, he barked up a storm because he liked the vibe so much."
"In addition to a short menu of highly-drinkable beer (get the Opiate IPA), Upward has a full food menu with things like chicken tenders, cheese-covered fries, and Bavarian sausages. But the real draw is the 120+ acre property. There are tons of spaced-out tents set up around a pond, and the brewery even has its own mountain you can hike called Beer Mountain. This is a great stop if you’re anywhere near Livingston Manor." - Carina Finn Koeppicus, Hannah Albertine, Anne Cruz

"But the most rewarding place of all for a hike might be a beer garden, Upward Brewing Company, in Livingston Manor, another recent opening whose excess of outdoor space now feels radically forward-looking. It would probably be more accurate to call it a dog-friendly beer garden, one with a frog pond for kids and a scattering of picnic tables and shade trees. The hiking option is a wooded private hill the brewery's proprietors have dubbed Beer Mountain."
