The Best Soft Serve In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"If your ears perk up at the mention of anything oat milk-related, pay this LES ice cream shop a visit. While Urban Dessert Lab does serve hard ice cream, we love their specialty oat-based soft serve in flavors like strawberry shortcake and chocolate peanut butter pretzel. They also have something called a Brûléesant (a brûléed croissant). It is in fact trademarked." - willa moore, hannah albertine, arden shore, molly fitzpatrick

Google
Nice little spot for well presented ice cream with fun toppings. Very allergen friendly including having a good number of gluten free options (entire shop is vegan). Bit pricey like many things in NYC but, has outdoor seating with great people watching so serves as a nice place to take a break and have a snack.

Google
The best ice cream I’ve had in so long! A variety of flavor mixes are offered, as well as a ‘create your own.’ Select your base, flavor syrup, and topping. Whipped Dessert Lab has the fluffiest ice cream and tasty options. I tried the apple cinnamon ice cream and the peanut butter pretzel; they were both fantastic. The servers are kind and assure you to ask about any allergy concerns beforehand. The line does get long, so I recommend arriving early before it fills up.

Google
Absolutely love this vegan dessert place! The variety of treats is impressive, and each one is a delightful explosion of flavors. From Strawberry Shortcake to Coffee Waffle Crunch, everything is so indulgent yet guilt-free. Plus, the presentation is stunning! A must-visit for vegans, Jains, and dessert enthusiasts alike. This vegan dessert spot is a true hidden gem!!!

Google
This is a really fun and exciting place to grab vegan/non-dairy desserts. Yes it’s Instagramable as you’ve seen but it’s also tasty. The person working that day was friendly and made a wonderful dessert for me! I think they’re redoing their interior because it’s not much too look at, Bert little seating but that’s how it is sometimes in NYC. Definitely go out and try this treat!

Google
What a pleasure it was to come and have dessert here! I heard about Whipped on Instagram and I had to check it out. It’s surrounded by my fave vegan spots, so of course I had to stopped by. The location states they are currently under renovation but that didn’t stop me from a good ole treat. The ice cream was so delicious. I had the swirl with pretzels, peanut butter and chocolate while my cousin had the strawberry short cake flavor. Both were delicious and would definitely be coming back!

Google
The staff is really friendly and nice! I just thought this was really hyped up, I think it’s too expensive for the price but other than that it was fast and easy. The ice cream is as really good and it’s a big plus it’s vegan! I got smores and it was good. Perfect t portion but just should be cheaper

Google
It’s so exciting to find an all vegan ice cream place, and I think the actual ice cream presentation is unique! You can pre-select from their options of soft-serve, crumb coating and sauce combinations or create your own. I got the chocolate peanut butter pretzel cone with sweet cream ice cream. One thing that’s cool is that before putting soft serve in the cone, they put some of the sauces and topping, so once you eat the top of the cone, you can still get all those flavors. Then once the soft serve is in the cone, it’s covered in the coating of your choice (pretzel for me), and the sauces were drizzled on top. The way sauces were done for this one was a bit messy to eat, but super delicious. I loved the texture the pretzel coating added! The price was also reasonable in terms of what ice cream sundaes cost in NYC. The shop itself is small, and there’s only 3 stools inside. Because my cone was messy, I don’t think I’d want to try and walk with it, so I was happy I came during a less busy time and was able to get a stool. Also, the only way to order is through a tablet, and while the employee working did communicate she was there to answer any questions about the menu, it was a slightly weird experience of having an employee be right there, but then typing in your order — but also maybe during busier times, the system is really beneficial 🤷🏻‍♀️

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Short line to order and then about 5 min wait for the ice cream itself. Being lactose intolerant, I was excited for dairy-free ice cream. That meant not having to take a lactaid pill with dessert which is huge for me as we’re never sure if one pill is ever enough or I suffer the consequences later. So while the ice cream was lactose free, it was quite disappointing. All ice cream is basically vanilla soft serve and then topped with different toppings to make the handful of different variations they offer… meaning all the flavor is just on top but not within the ice cream itself. I got the chocolate peanut butter. First couple bites with the homemade sauces and the pretzel bits were good. But then when it got to just the ice cream itself it was bland. A better alternative for the future would be if they could mix the sauces and toppings into the ice cream and then top it on top of the cone. In addition, the ice cream itself was more ice flakes rather than the creamy goodness of ice cream. Overall, sadly not worth coming again even though they serve lactose free ice cream.

Yelp
If you follow any NY account on social media, then you probably have seen the viral oatmilk vegan ice cream by Urban Dessert Lab. So when in Manhattan, one must go try it specially if you're lactose intolerant. When we got there, I was expecting to have to wait in a line, but we were lucky and there was no line : ' ) (Happy tear) Since we're GF tbh the topping options were limited even though they looked good, we decided to try it simple and just got the chocolate vanilla swirl. Omg the simple chocolate vanilla flavor was the best! So refreshing, light, and creamy. Honestly, we get it why it became viral. It's bomb.com haha If you're vegan or just can't have dairy products or in general love ice cream, you must come and try it out! :D

Yelp
This is a vegan dessert spot in the lower east side. I didn't love the flavor! We ordered the coffee waffle crunch ice cream in a cone. It was enough for two people! It's on par with other ice cream spots Fast service The ambience was nice! There are a few open benches where you can sit

Yelp
Today on a cold January day I had an appointment for a haircut in the area and afterwards felt like getting a sweet treat. I remembered seeing a review on social media for this place and everyone was raving about this place. Well I was convinced and decided to give it a try, I ordered sweet cream with red cup. It was flavorless and boring, I would not go back and I would not recommend it. There are other options in the area that are far better.
google avatar

Yelp
Meh! Nothing Fabulous. Small place, try to come here during the week because during the weekends the line is huge. The Ice cream didn't have any flavor, only the toppings. Everything is digital, you choose everything on the computer, I bought the Strawberry Shortcake flavor, nothing spectacular. Only two chairs, you buy the ice cream and leave.
google avatar

Rupali K.

Yelp
Small space inside and a couple of chairs outside. There is digital kisok to place an order. When we entered, there was no one at the desk or making ice cream. So v waited for some time and then placed our order. Good plant based ice creams. Everything is plant based. I mad my own with mixed base, chocolate crumbed, and coffee sauce. Everything was good, but not the fan of chocolate crumbles at the bottom of the cone.
google avatar

Melanie J.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place but it was just okay. They could do a better job with appearances. The store seemed dusty and disorganized

Yelp
I finally made it to Urban Dessert Lab! It's been on my list forever, ever since I first spied them on social media and their luscious soft serve smothered in delicious things and injected with even more delicious sauces. Such smutty images verged on the improper and definitely have encouraged an array of customers, from vegan to lactose intolerant to just plain curious. Can oat milk soft serve really be all that good? Yes. It can. I mean I already knew this, but I had never tried soft serve oat milk ice cream before! I knew the strawberry/vanilla/cake crumb offering would be up my alley and I was right. The childhood Good Humor strawberry shortcake memories hit me hard. I might have wept. I love this operation. It's efficient, so you just wait your turn, go on up and have at that iPad. Order what your little heart desires. You can create your own masterpiece or trust the ice cream wizards' creations. Even my real-deal ice cream-loving husband loved his peanut butter bomb thing. I will always likely be partial to the creme (vanilla) base, but next time I may go crazy and get a coffee sauce injection and/or peanut and really go all out there with pecan and pretzel crumbles. UDL, you're making me feel like a kid at an ice cream shop with dozens of flavors again!
google avatar

Holly Z.

Yelp
One of favorite dessert spots in the city, and no I don't think it's overhyped. I have been here twice, and the first time (a weekend night) I probably waited 45 minutes to order. At the time, they had a seasonal matcha soft serve flavor which I jumped on. Because I love strawberry matcha lattes, I got it with the strawberry crumble, and it was magical. Tonight I ordered my usual, chocolate, and added on a waffle cone crumble. That was delicious as well. The texture of the soft serve is amazing. It's very airy but not too light, and it has a bit of a firmness to it that really hits the spot. The crumbles are also such a good idea and so good! Love coming here with my vegan friend because I know it's something we'll both be able to enjoy. What a great option when one is craving a texture different from regular old ice cream/gelato!
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
We got the strawberry shortcake and chocolate peanut butter pretzel! Both were a delicious sweet treat perfect for a hot day. This is a grab and go place with very little seating!
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS ICE CREAM SHOP! I've seen it on tiktok and had to try it. I built my own and had crushed oreos, hot fudge inside, and a toasted marshmallow. It was so decadent and rich without it being too sweet. The size was perfect for my sister and I to share. Definitely stop here!!
google avatar

Jon Z.

Yelp
I saw this place a while back on TikTok so it was definitely on my list for when I was in New York. Overall I really enjoyed it and think it met the hype! They offer oat milk ice cream which is great for those who have dairy allergies. I got the cinnamon apple crisp which was really tasty! The ice cream was very creamy, and I loved the graham cracker crumble on the outside for texture. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend trying Urban Dessert Lab!
google avatar

Kathryn T.

Yelp
Cannot recommend enough!!! It's a little pricey (~$9 for a cup or cone), but how often do you see oat milk ice cream (that tastes amazing!!)? I ordered the salted pecan in a cone and absolutely loved it! Our group also tried the peanut butter, mint and cookie crumble -- everyone was pleased! The perfect afternoon treat.
google avatar

Nikhil M.

Yelp
Amazing vegan ice cream (from a non-vegan). Honestly couldn't tell that the sweet cream serve was vegan and I loved the shortcake crumbs. It's a little pricey but definitely worth checking out. They have lots of cool fully vegan desserts!
google avatar

Alissa A.

Yelp
I've got to say I don't see what all the hype is about this place. I had been seeing it all over social media, and all the videos and pictures looked absolutely amazing, so I was a bit disappointed by what I actually got. I got the coffee waffle crunch flavor, and there just wasn't anything that special about it. Sure, it's the first place in the city with oatmilk based ice creams, but the taste itself was way too sweet and the sauce and toppings overpowered everything. I, thankfully, didn't have to wait, but this is not worth waiting for.

Mariana C.

Yelp
Amazing oat milk ice cream !!!! Totally worthy the whole hype !!! The place is super small, so it's more to go
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
This is a great dessert option if you're out on a walk. For everything to be plant based you really can't tell. The cinnamon is very powerful but not over powering, the apple flavor filling was a hit. The crunch bits on the outside were nice but I probably wouldn't get it again. The inside is small but you file in line so it goes pretty quickly. The staff also explains how everything works and keeps order for a smooth experience. I will say the portion sizes are generous enough 2 people could share 1 order.
google avatar

Morlene C.

Yelp
I often reflect on how lucky I am to be one of the rare citizens of the world with high lactose tolerance-- that is, cheese, ice cream, and all other dairy products make up a significant portion of my diet with no consequences. When I see non-dairy milk or ice cream alternatives I'm mostly thinking about all the xanthan gum and binding agents required to imitate the real thing, and why subject myself to all that when I can just have the good stuff? Whipped has opened my eyes to a delicious and xanthan gum-free alternative. The base of these desserts is oat milk, which is definitely the creamiest alt-milk I've tried, so I understand why their treats taste so good. They use all natural ingredients to produce a frozen treat that is nut-free, soy-free and gluten-free. I'm really impressed with their product, and after one bite of this dessert I didn't mind the 40 mins or so I spent waiting in line. Get there before the crazy summer lines start.
google avatar

Yelp
06/09/23 : This has been on my list and finally able to check it out. Black and woman owned can't go wrong. Note, it's small line is long so be prepared to wait. However, once inside organized process. Place your order at the kiosk and wait for preparation. I like before they start your order they ask any allergies. New pair of gloves is used for every order. I ordered the strawberry shortcake with strawberry sprinkles and syrup. Please not dairy free gluten free egg free. The ice cream made from oat milk was ok all the toppings is what made it for me. If in the neighborhood definitely check them out and support!
google avatar

Sheila P.

Yelp
Looking for a tasty dessert, my family and I decided to try this place out. It's a small spot and depending on the day you might have to wait anywhere between 15 mins to an hour, again depends on the day and time. When you arrive be prepare to order through a kiosk. Currently unsure if it was only that day but, when we approached the cashier they told us we have to do it through there. What caught my interest was that- this wasn't your regular Ice Cream place. They're oat-milk & plant based Serving delicious and creamy soft-serve, sauces and toppings. My choice of flavor was vanilla with chocolate sauce in the middle, & cookies and cream as the topping. Although, it can be a bit overwhelming and messy it was different but tasty. I would have to rate it a 8.0/10. My family all said it was good as well just, overwhelming with the toppings. They are known for this though so it's understandable. All their ratings were from 7.5 to 8.0 / 10. I do recommend going for yourself and giving it a shot. Also, recommend checking them out online for their menu, go in there with an idea already- rather than wait till you there and now you're holding up the line because you unsure of what to get.

Yelp
Ice cream easy on the stomach. (Don't steal that tagline unless you pay me). I'm sooooo late posting this! I forget sometimes posting on Instagram tagging businesses. I went here last year lol AND I need to return asap! After being let down by oat ice cream at the grocery store I couldn't not support a black business that sells ice cream so I gave them a try. I looove pecans and the taste of the light ice cream covered in pecans and the light taste of the waffle cone each bite was literal perfection. Service was fine. They were very busy late night near closing time but they seem to sell until sold out. The chandelier was a nice, cute touch along with the walls. It's very small inside but they do have 2 tables out front where you can sit, as we did. Go, enjoy!!!
google avatar

Neelum K.

Yelp
Vegan dessert? Actually delicious! Slow as can be though. Should take 20 min just to order. But very tasty!!!
google avatar

Leilani S.

Yelp
Finally a dessert place that is non dairy and plant based and actually good! Been wanting to try this place for a min now and I glad I finally did! It's a small place and only like 4 seats inside. You order at the tablet and then wait for your order to be done. The tablet/menu is a little confusing. The price is avg and you have to pay for each topping. Sad they were out of caramel in the middle of the day Got a the twist with a toasted marshmallow and it was a little less than $8. The chocolate had good flavor and the sweet cream was good too! The texture is like soft and airy and not like a creamy soft serve. It was good and didn't have to worry bc everything is dairy free and plant based! The marshmallow was so yummy too! I def would come back! Wish they had more seating outside
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
My photo says it all. We were excited to find a place that could accommodate our vegan, dairy-free,,gluten-free family members. And it's quite tasty!
google avatar

Jackie O.

Yelp
I finally got to try UDL after seeing how viral it went. The photos always made their desserts seem so light and delicious (in an indulgent kind of way). My husband and I stood in line as expected (let's just say it's a cozy little spot) but it moved quickly (I just enjoy people watching anyway). He got the Coffee Waffle Crunch and I got Mint Chocolate Cookie. The employees were very friendly and I can tell all their cones are made at a high standard - you are guaranteed to get what you saw on their instagram. I recommend Urban Dessert Lab to everyone who enjoys beautiful desserts, with a vegan twist!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Today I stopped by here and got Cinnamon Apple crisp. I saw someone else get a smores which looked really good and will try it again next time. Cinnamon apple crisp-tastes just like apple pie, really good! The ice cream is made out of oatmilk, but hard to tell the difference between that and regular soft ice cream. It's super soft, super creamy, outside had a dusting of cinnamon and other seasonings which made it taste like apple pie. The cone was good. Overall: Will definitely be back again to try a different dish
google avatar

Jamie W.

Yelp
Gave it a whirl! It's amazing to have an alternative to milk based ice cream. My friend happened to be lactose intolerant so this was a nice option to have. The store is completely plant based. It had a smaller menu than what I was thinking. The ice cream is very light in texture and feel. There are 2 flavors vanilla and chocolate. You start with your base of either flavor or make a twist and than add your toppings. They have 6 premade flavors if you don't feel like coming up with your own.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
Vegan ice cream tasted great and service and ambiance was amazing ! Highly recommended and will be coming back in the future thank you
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
I did not like this at all. I got their plain sweet flavor with no toppings. The texture felt whipped which was nice and airy... but it tasted extremely synthetic. Maybe they use a flavoring? Maybe it was fake sugar? I'm not sure, but it was not something I will have again. It was also pretty messy with a lot of spilled topping and sticky counters. I would give a pass if it was busy... but I was the only person at the shop at the time.
google avatar

Luz C.

Yelp
This spot was definitely one of the BEST vegan ice cream places I've ever visited. The shop is really tiny and cute. You walk in, and place an order on iPads. The menu was a little confusing on how to make your own flavor, so I just went with an item on the menu. The employees were SUPER sweet & helpful with any questions I had. I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake and it was amazing. The ice cream is super fluffy and I couldn't believe it was dairy-free. The strawberry flavor is fresh and not overly sweet. 10/10 I will definitely be visiting in the future!
google avatar

Shelley C.

Yelp
3 stars overall / 4.5 star staff Bummed to say it, but I was underwhelmed with urban dessert lab. I think the concept is awesome, plant based ice cream is def a winner! I found the ambiance lacking. It's a very small space & needed to be cleaned up. There were no napkins only paper towels from behind the counter. There was one employee there making the desserts, he was super kind and patient, because I had a hard time ordering ()!!! The on screen self serve ordering process was pretty confusing for me. And usually I don't have any problem with those systems. Most of the pre explained menu options do not come w the creamy oozing center. So if u want that, you need to order from the make your own section. I ordered the chocolate base of course w chocolate center. Then added salted pecan, cookie crumble & a toasted marshmallow. I loved the toasted marshmallow, it was the best part of the experience.
google avatar

Karina U.

Yelp
It's fun watching they make the creations. The "ice cream" is light and flavorful and tasty. Everything is plant based as well. Wish they had more flavor options for the base.

Dana M.

Yelp
Super awkward experience. The space is small and silent. No music, no buzzing, not a peep, just a small semi dark closet. Told us we couldn't have a receipt. Very strange. Then asked to text my number to the manager to text a receipt. Very strange again. About a squeeze of strawberry sauce. Inside vegan vanilla ice cream. 3/10. Put this on my list for nyc. spent time in place of another dessert spot, i made the wrong choice. Won't be going back. Just weird. Cups didn't have the sticker. No wrappings for the cones. Nothing was as advertised. Felt uncomfortable being in there. Their Instagram catfished me.
google avatar

Veronica G.

Yelp
Amazing vegan ice cream spot with so many options to make a tasty treat. Start with a soft serve ice cream base and choose from a variety of dessert sauces and crumb coats. I can never say no to a roasted marshmallow! This spot is small but efficient with self service kiosk and friendly staff. As you can see, my corgi puppy Korra was also dying to try some! We will be back soon

Andrew K.

Yelp
Gen-Z BS hours w a stupid line. Good ice cream, bad ooen hours that caters to the local south east village gen zrs. Too far downtown , zero parking and inconvenient for my liking. Maybe since theyre making all this cash they should open one uptown? Unsure if I will go back-
google avatar

Liu H.

Yelp
It's rare to come across an ice-cream shop for vegans/non-dairy people only (because there are limited options in regular ice-cream shops). My friend recommended me to try this out and I absolutely love it! Whipped makes their ice-cream differently than most vegan ice-cream shops like Van Leeuwen (I love VL too), but I like the way that you can customize the ice-cream flavors with the toppings that you want, and how they make it compact and tasty! This store was crowded on a Wednesday evening when we walked in (cold and wet). It's gotten super popular and crowded. I hope they get a bigger place soon because they only had two staff making and operating the whole place. Overall, don't expect an in and out experience, but so for some really good vegan ice-cream!!!
google avatar

Alex Z.

Yelp
I'm beyond disappointed, after seeing this place on social media. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter one but all I got was the twist in a waffle cone. I thought there might be some peanut butter or chocolate somewhere in the bottom since I saw they made others with some sauce drizzled on the bottom but mine has nothing in there. And I already walked away so didn't want to go back to complain. They took a while to make each every one of them. Expect a little wait. And also one is still in training kept messing up the order. My partner had mint chocolate there's also no flavor. Definitely not the mint chip you think it would be. They are very welcoming that greet you upon arrival and introduce their products and how everything works. And for people with lactose intolerance or looking for vegan this is the place to be. But there's nothing special about it. Just expensive oat based soft serve. I had better oat soft serve elsewhere at a lower price.
google avatar

Isabella T.

Yelp
Came here with my friend for dessert after dinner on a Friday night. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that there was no line and that we were able to sit at the single table they have there (which is a luxury when it's cold outside.) The place is a little small but very cozy and clean. The staff was super nice and accommodating to all of our requests. My friend ordered the Strawberry shortcake in a cone which had a sweet creme base with strawberry crumble and strawberry sauce. I got a build your own with sweet crème base, chocolate cookie crumble, and a peanut butter core. The dessert overall was okay. The texture was nice and fluffy and the sweetness level was adequate but there was something that was missing for me-- perhaps it was the slightly more watery texture than ice cream or the slight aftertaste of oat milk that I'm not used to. The chocolate cookie crumble was delicious though since it was so finely ground that it truly felt like snow powder more than a crumble! Very solid! I really liked the concept and I think this is a great option for plant based dessert! It's definitely lighter on the stomach and feels a lot less heavy which was nice. Next time I will try one of the more elaborate ones they have on the menu which might be a little bit more balanced flavor and texture wise. Overall, I had a good experience here but I think it would be very hard for me to replace dairy based desserts like gelato/ice cream although this certainly is a good alternative when feeling on the ~healthier~ side. Prices are pretty comparable to other places with around $8 per person!
google avatar

Cris K.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this spot forever and finally had the chance!! I loved the various toppings and drizzles my ice cream artist made for me. Not only was it a visual piece of art, it was just as tasty and satisfying in the plethora of simultaneous textures!! Crispy pretzels, crunchy cone, smooth silky soft serve, and the thick ribbons of peanut butter. My only complaint is the ice cream melts way too fast and there's too much going on. My cone fell and I ended up asking for a new one which I felt bad about, as if the ice cream makers don't got enough going on. They were filming videos while I was there, so Whipped definitely has got it going on!! There were no lines on Sunday, which I was thrilled about. Go get your vegan sweet tooth fix now!! Oh, warning, you might have a nice bathroom trip in the morning. But I expected that as with anything oat milk.
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
This a trendy oat-milk ice cream shop. It was very busy on a Saturday around 9pm. For any of the ice cream flavors, you can choose a cup or a waffle cone. They pack the ice cream with crushed toppings and load it with drizzles. We tried the cinnamon apple crisp. The ice cream was smooth and not too sweet. The flavoring came through, but wasn't overpowering. Definitely a perfect treat for autumn. They have two seats inside the shop and a bit more outdoor seating but to avoid the crowd, it's best to grab and go. Not sure I feel the need to come again but it's a nice option for dessert lovers.

Yelp
I love this place so much. Vegan soft serve is incredibly difficult to find and this place has an amazing one, which also works for folks with but allergies because it's oat milk based. They had a special S'mores cone with cinnamon graham cracker crumbles, chocolate sauce, and a toasted marshmallow on top. The chocolate peanut butter pretzel is amazing as always - my favorite flavor by far. The soft serve is amazing on its own, but the cones are a special creation in themselves. Absolutely fantastic - I'll always come back.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream shop a short walk away from Chinatown and Little Italy. Service was quick and also very communicative. We got the strawberry shortcake with a party hat, which was a fun little dessert. We liked the strawberry crumble coating which gave a very slight crunch around their perfectly smooth ice cream.

Yelp
The shop is small and there is no space to sit. There was a line when we arrived and it felt cramped inside. I got the Strawberry Shortcake and did not like it because it did not resemble ice cream to me. My friend said her chocolate one was okay.

Yelp
I heard so much about this place. I even passed it a few times and saw the incredibly long line outside. The other night after seeing a play I took a chance and stopped in around 9 pm and the line was short (no line out the door and only a few people inside waiting). I walked right inside and because there were just a few people ahead of me I had just enough time to scan the menu and decide what I wanted. You can choose from one of their hand-crafted creations or you can customize your own. Everything is also plant-based, including their toppings, sauces and cones. Their natural, artisan soft-serve begins with a premium oat milk base and is coated with carefully selected top shelf ingredients. You have to order at the kiosk and only cards are accepted (no cash). The staff is super friendly and works hard to move the line along. I selected their strawberry shortcake handcrafted creation (signature sweet crème base coated with strawberry crumble and strawberry sauce). I opted for the waffle cone. The ice cream was light and super creamy, sort of like whipped cream but thicker. It's as delicious as it looks and presented beautifully. Eventhough it's oat milk ice cream it tastes just as creamy as regular ice cream. It wasn't too sweet and literally melts in your mouth. Although it is a bit on the pricey side (around $8) the quality and taste definitely make up for it. The shop is small inside with only a few seats. Fortunately I was able to grab a seat by the window and devour my absolutely amazing vegan ice cream. I can't wait to come back to try other creations.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were looking for dessert after spending the day in Brooklyn, and we ended up coming back into Manhattan to a tiny little ice cream place on the Lower East Side. Orchard Street is crowded with shops and restaurants, and we're always up for vegan ice cream on a summer evening. You order at a kiosk and can get a pre-set cone or make your own, deciding between chocolate soft serve, sweet creme (a vanilla type flavor), or a swirl. We got the S'more's cone (made with a Dandies vegan marshmallow) and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel, which I liked more than the S'more's (I think it could have used some chocolate sauce). So we switched. But they were both really tasty. There's not much room inside the UDL; they also limit the number of guests inside, I guess to keep it from getting too warm. There is, however, seating outside so you can sit and enjoy your cone. Oh, and did I mention they use waffle cones? It's the first time I've seen vegan waffle cones, so I couldn't be more thrilled. I'll definitely have to come back the next time I'm in New York.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while, and today I was finally able to check it out . The line wasn't that bad, we waited about 20 mins. The line does move slow, however there are only 2 people working the front. I ended up getting the sweet crème ice cream with pecans in a cup and my husband ended up getting the mint chip in a waffle cone. The ice cream texture was light and airy. However, it's bland, has no flavor. I ended up taking a few bites before I gave up on it. The mint chip was good, but the mint flavor was strong.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try whipped ice cream since I've been seeing it all over my Instagram! Love that they serve oat milk based ice cream since I'm lactose intolerant! I found the ice cream to be really good and was more than enough to share with my partner. I was one of the first people in line so i didn't have to wait very long for service and the people who worked there are really nice! It's cute but very small in there, they have a small bench outside that you can eat your ice cream at.

Yelp
Social media hyped this up WAYY too much (plz don't come @ me). Cool concept, taste was okay and the staff were nice. But I didn't get that "cool" factor as I've seen on social media. The line was a block out the door so maybe the wait influenced my review but I thought it was average. The ice cream was very creamy and the ingredients tasted nice. Great option if you're vegan!

Yelp
Was craving ice cream after dinner and passed by this cute, little shop. When I say little, it's literally very little. You order on the screen and pick up at the counter. Very easy and simple. Ice cream is plant based; even the toppings were too. It's my first time trying plant based ice cream and it was very good! I loved how soft and airy it was. Will come back next time I visit nyc!
