The bar itself is a great time but it’s hard to enjoy yourself wondering if your vehicle will be broken into. If you can’t park near the front door it’s not worth the risk coming here. No one monitors the parking lot leaving your vehicle open to getting broken into like several last night.

I went to Urban Social for the first time and there were a couple of red flags. The food was good, but the process of placing an order was weird. If you're at Urban Social, you have to text the number on the menu, hoping someone responds to bring your food next door from the Cigar lounge. Some people next to me never received a reply, so their wait for food was ridiculous. Next, the day/evening was pretty slow, so I'm assuming they had to overprice to make up revenue for the day. I kept asking for the check for my drinks and the bartender never gave it to me. So eventually I gave my card to pay and they came back with a receipt that simply said $102 and charged me. There was NO ITEMIZED BILL. After checking with 2 friends of mine, they were charged the same thing and they had less drinks... Who knows, we could've bought the bar drinks!! Ask for itemized bill at the bar and check for drink menus or ask for cost. Needless to say, the major loss is reoccurring business and I will not revisit this bar/lounge.

We stopped by Urban Social to wrap up a daytime birthday celebration with one last drink before heading home, and let me tell you—the Peanut Butter Espresso Martini is incredible! It’s so good, I’d happily drive 35 minutes just to get one. Everyone in our group got one and couldn’t stop raving about it. We even joked about taking a pitcher of it home! If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely make it a priority to grab another one.

I have a great time every visit. Food great, music amazing, vibes always on point. Ke the bartender!!! Give that girl a raise because the drinks impeccable. She is literally the reason I come back! Homegirl definitely knows how to set the vibe.

The club/dj was cool besides having to pay $75 to sit down. Not to mention, the food was overly priced and overly SALTY... They're definitely out to price gouge you on everything. "Free" to get in, but please believe that they will make their money otherwise. I ordered an old fashion, and it was $15. When the waitress came back, it was $19. Order the shrimp plate, which shows 18.00 online. I ordered two plates, and it came out to be $50. Luckily my friend needed it bc was hungry or I would have left it there.. when I brought it to the hostess attention all she said was we've told them.. but did not honor their online price!? It's sad, but this is why I party on Washington. There aren't any hidden fees when you try to patronize your own kind. It's safe to say I won't be back to support this establishment... And you wonder why we are such in a trance as a black community🤦🏽‍♀️

I went to celebrate my best friend's graduation there. It was my first time there. It was way too small and overcrowded. The parking is absolutely horrible and not monitored. Maybe this place would be a lot better during the week or a slow day, but there's nothing on Earth that will make me go back there on a Saturday. It cannot be safe to have that many people stuffed in such a small venue.

I am a frequent customer at Urban Social on Sundays and always received superior service from the bartenders. Well unfortunately that superior service was not upheld by this bartender named Mya. On March 9th I stopped in as I normally do for Sunday Funday and ordered two drinks. Well upon the completion of the two drinks being made I asked Mya can she add one more drink to my order. Mya was very RUDE and started cursing at me and made the comment you’re doing nothing but slowing me down and other remarks under her breath and to patrons standing around. As much money as I spend at this establishment on Sundays and often tip the bartenders very generously I would have never expected to be treated this way. Urban Social needs to reevaluate having her as a bartender. Her attitude is HORRIBLE and she will eventually run this business to the ground. I witnessed her talking to multiple patrons in a very reckless manner but to curse at patrons is beyond UNPROFESSIONAL. If you’re visiting Urban Social and Mya is the bartender avoid her at all cost. She is nasty and RUDE!

I enjoy this spot along with Urban Smoke which is located right next door (the review is on urban smoke) I highly recommend the lemon pepper wings they were so good and the fat bottom Betty cigar was so flavorful ……. the ambience was very nice the drinks were ok next door has better drinks to me but the customer service is always great. I had the side car and the smokealicious to drink l. We came on a Wednesday which we needed to rsvp for because it was jam packed they also had live music 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Urban Social is a great spot for a lively night out with friends, offering a fun, energetic atmosphere and excellent drinks. The nightlife here is on point, with good music and a vibrant crowd that creates an exciting vibe. The drinks were solid, well-made, and just what we needed to keep the energy up throughout the night. However, the space is very small and tight--packed wall to wall, making it a bit difficult to move around or find a spot to comfortably hang out. If you're planning to come with a group, be prepared for a cozy, crowded experience. One unique thing about Urban Social is that you have to order food via text, which is a bit unconventional but works out fine. Despite the separate ordering system, the food arrived hot and exactly as we had ordered, which was a pleasant surprise. The only thing I would've liked to see differently was a single tab system with the bar, as the separate food ordering system felt a little cumbersome. That said, it didn't ruin the experience, and the food was tasty enough to make up for it. Overall, Urban Social is a fun place to hang out, but the tight space can get a little overwhelming. It's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for great drinks and a lively atmosphere, just be prepared for a packed house! Four stars!

You can reserve a table to have a spot separate from the general crowd. This is a small spot and space is limited. The music is vibrant and will definitely get you dancing. The DJ mixed songs together that I didn't know would be paired as well as they were. We got to hear some of the local Houston R&B and rap songs, which was a joy since this is the hometown of some major R&B and rap artists. The drink menu is mature and eclectic. The bartenders know what they are doing! Impressive! I was able to chit chat with some very friendly locals. The TVs were showing the Olympics at the time. At one point every one was cheering U.S.A...U.S.A! The bathrooms were unisex and it was interesting watching the men wait along with the women . It worked. No complaints there. All of the drinks I ordered were nicely done. Security was there to keep the peace. I didn't see anything other than good vibes going on. It got very crowded at one point right before we left. We could tell this was a hot spot. Loved, loved, loved this place. This will definitely be a spot I will definitely come back to when visiting Houston.

If you just finished eating brunch and need a place to go just to drink, then this is your place. It is located in a storefront, so parking can be challenging. It's not a big place so it gets crowded quickly. The drinks are pricy, but they are very strong. The Hennessy lemon drop is my favorite drink here. The DJ plays all the latest hip hop tracks.

I love this place! It's turned into my random after-hours spot with great music, great service, and great drinks when I'm in the mood to vibe and cozy up to a loungey bar. They make a mean French 75 that never disappoints! Cheers!

Hello, my name is Ashley B. Let's get to the review. I went here last night for Labor Day and it was R&B night for the majority part of the night, but as the night went on, they started playing more hip-hop./rap, which really hyped up the crowd. You have to get here early because the seats get taken fast and will leave you standing so I suggest wearing some sort of flat shoes. The drinks are pretty good and the parking is free. They also serve food, but to be honest the food can be pricey due to inflation so I would suggest eating something like a snack on the way home. Overall, I really enjoy the atmosphere in here. They keep the lights dim so you don't have to worry about bright lights flashing on you. I do want to point out that they do have an odd restroom area. There's two doors and you could be standing in line and people will just walk up and skip you or ask. Are you in line for the restroom. Trust me I wish they had women/men stalls so we wouldn't have to worry about this type of situation. Anyway, go check them out if you're looking to catch a vibe!

Overall, I think it's a great bar. Drinks are strong, music is good, and atmosphere is chill. I went early in the evening during the week, so the place was extremely pleasant. However, based on the other reviews and Urban Social's IG page, this place easily transitions to a crowded lounge with a club-like scene on the weekends. So choose your vibe wisely. My drink of choice was the White Gummy Bear. It was fantastic. Sweet but packed a punch. The bartenders definitely know what they're doing here. Food options can be consumed here but must be purchased next door. Parking is shared with the establishments in the strip mall. I definitely recommend taking an Uber or Lyft.

If you love 90's R&B, meet me here on a Tuesday...lol you won't be disappointed. Great Vibe, Nice people, good drinks. It's not quite a hole in the wall, but it gets so packed in here you would think there is no space to begin with. I would recommend getting there before 7pm or reserve a table. I also like coming here on Thursday Nights, but you can find whatever you need any day of the week. Definitely good for grabbing drinks after work too. If you like cigars check out their cigar lounge next door.

Urban is almost always full so know that you'll likely be standing and surrounded by people. The drinks are delicious and priced accordingly (location). Their French 75 is my favorite. The bartenders are great. They got nice big TVs and clean bathrooms.

Overall nice spot. The game was playing along with a good selection of music so there was no way to go wrong. Our bartender was friendly and accommodating as well as the security staff on duty. We were seated pretty quickly, enjoyed a couple drinks, and really enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely return in the future.

With Urban Social, what you see is what you get. It's a bar that draws a crowd almost every day of the week so clearly they have a formula that's working. It's located in a plaza so parking is available after hours. There's always security out front checking IDs and patting folks down so I've never encountered any issues the few times I've been. The space is a bit small so on crowded nights, it can be uncomfortable being in there. The DJs are usually good and the bartenders have a heavy pour. Overall, it's always a good time, if a hip hop and r&b vibe is what you're looking for.

Hmm. Idk. They squeezed so many people in that small lounge. No one could move, dance, or barely blink. When we left, they were still allowing people to go inside. The DJ was good but we couldn't even enjoy it.

Came to Urban Social for post-brunch drinks on a Saturday afternoon. They had a really good happy hour and the R&B vibes were high! Circled the block a few evenings later for happy hour and it was too crowded. Also, make sure to verify any drink specials you find on their site or socials. Ordered a bunch of drinks only to be told there was no special and their IG hadn't been updated. Staff were really nice and had great chemistry.

Giving 5 stars for what it is- dive bar that is extremely laid back and friendly staff. You can order food from next door.

This place is amazing. I do not go out to bars/lounges often anymore. The service is great and the music was on point. A great mix of old school and new. This is a black owned business that is ran by family. That's right, build that generational wealth! I will be visiting here again. Kay Kay and Devin serveD the best drinks, was attentive, and speedy with their service! The only thing I would recommend is to get black cherries as this along along with orange peel helps make an Old Fashion.

Now this is what Swagger used to be. Great bartenders that know cocktails. You only need 2 or you will be ubering home. Lounge atmosphere with a small bar, couches to lounge and small outdoor patio. Crowd is 25 n up urban professionals. Almost always busy after 6 but get there early and you can snag a seat at the bar or a patio table. Bartenders are friendly and professional. No food but there are food trucks that pop up. Gets crazy packed on weekends. Suggest a weekday visit.

The ambience of the place was great. My friend had an invited me late night after he got off work, and a lot of local artists came out to seeing their favorite songs. I had a really great time the drink I had was called a sidecar. It was in a very big martini glass with just the right amount of liquor. The service was definitely fast and efficient and there was absolutely no wait. The place is pretty big so you can bring friends family have parties and just have a good time listening to music or live music

Strong drinks alert!! This is such a "good vibe" spot. I initially was taken aback as when others told me about this place they stated it was similar to Davenport. I'm assuming they meant in comparison to the drinks at Davenport. The music at Urban Social gave a completely different feel... it was a nice, little turn up feel. The music was good, the people brought the energy, the bartenders personas exuded big energy, and the drinks were tasty and STRONG. Parking may be limited depending on time of arrival. I will definitely be back for my next desires turn up. Lol

Very small venue in a shopping center. Not enough parking as most of the spots are reserved for the other businesses which is very understandable. If you like feeling someone's breath on the back of your neck as they recite lyrics to whatever tune the dj is playing, this is the spot for you. One of my friends told me about Urban smoke so I will try them next. It seemed more of my speed.

Always a good time. Vibes always grown and sexy, DJ plays just the right music especially some 90s, and the bartenders are fast. The drinks are always good too.

Ohh the vibes on a Monday night are a hit. Great drinks and DJ. Crowd was grown and sexy. No drama, just dancing, drinking, and hookah smoking. It's a vibe for the hip hop crowd over 25.

This is a good ole faithful spot! My friends and I have been visiting here every since it opened. The strongest drinks you will get in the city! Always great music & a great time! The patrons are always welcoming & chill. Cigar smokers are out front. Everyone really be vibing here. One of those small yet intimate spots. They often have a food truck in the back or you can get food at any of the restaurants nearby. I'd definitely recommend folks to try this spot for a nice drink & chill.

Friend and I decided sour of the moment to go to a bar. Looked up black owned establishments and found this one. It was so much fun! Drinks were delicious, crowd was fun, music was AMAZING!!!

Listen, this place is lit every day of the week ok?! And its a chill vibe. Parking is not an issue, and they dont charge for it which is so nice. The music is always on point, drinks are good and strong, crowd is generally more mature, and you can get hookah here too. There aren't always a lot of options to sit down, so you gotta grab a seat when you can! LOL But listen, its a good time, every time. Def becoming one of my fav spots. Check them out!

This place is in between a 3 and 4. We came in on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. I thought there would be a few more people there, but it was still somewhat quiet. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They don't offer food, but I saw several people bringing their own with no issues. The drinks were well made and at an affordable price -- I had the Sweet Heat and loved it! The atmosphere is between a sports bar and a lounge, which I wasn't a huge fan of but the DJ mixes made up for it! I would come back during peak day party hours on Sunday or just for a laid back time with a group of friends.

Came on a Thursday night with friends. Nothing to write home about but it was cool. It is small but it wasn't packed on a Thursday night so I can't complain about the space. The DJ was jumping. Parking was easy. Will be back!

This is my THIRD attempt trying to come to Urban Social. The same thing happens every time I've tried to patronize the establishment. I can never get in. This time we arrived around 11pm (Friday) and the line didn't seem to be that long. However, the two bouncers at the door held the line for about 20 minutes before announcing "we just got a text from the owner that we have to wait until 25 people leave before we can let more people in". Meanwhile, we decide to continue to wait like idiots and count every person that exited until we hit 25. The 25th person finally exited and the bouncers continued to flex on us by keeping us waiting like dogs chained to a tree. I'm too old for the shenanigans. I had two colleagues in town for the evening that wanted one last drink before calling it a night. Unfortunately we never got the chance to have that night cap because the bouncers were too busy chopping it up with the old head Omegas and hugging all the women on the patio. I'm too old to be standing in lines being held up by bouncers like I'm still in college. We chucked deuces and got up out of there. I was told that Urban Social was a nice spot for 35+ adults to vibe out at. It still may be, but I've yet to get in and I'm just about done trying to do so. Kudos to Ashley on her spot, but it doesn't look like I'll be back for the foreseeable future. Maybe I'll just have to come back on a slower night. But my days of standing in lines at the mercy of bouncers ended well over a decade ago.

Went for drinks after eating at LA crawfish. It was a Thursday around 7 pm. The vibes were amazing. The DJ was on point and it was not extremely packed. I always get their lemon drop martini and it never disappoints. It is a more mature crowd.

I've been a few times now and I have had an excellent experience here. They have only begun open a month or two but they are starting to be the place to be. They are located in the middle of a long strip center with a variety of businesses located there. Parking can get scarce if you don't get there early. Most of the businesses have a few dedicated spots for their customers. The drinks are poured very well, if you know how I mean. Ashley is the owner and she brings many years if experience in the bar business as she was previously a bartender at a very well known bar. If you are in the area of Richmond and Wesleyan you should definitely stop in.

Super small bar. It was super packed and hard to move around. The cocktails are VERY strong. The restrooms are unisex.

We went for Fat Tuesday and they had great happy hour drinks ! The bartender was very quick with his service and inside the decor gave us a Mardi Gras feel .

Very nice spot that serves great drinks! While it's small, on any given night the vibes are top tier because the DJs play some of the best music. I have taken a few friends that visit me and at different times during the week, and they each had a great time as well. I would also say it's a great spot to either kick-off an evening of spot-hopping, or to have a nightcap. This is a routine spot for me!

Great spot. Found this gem located walking distance from my place and I usually visit Thursday evenings. Drinks are priced right. Music really sets the vibe. Bar staff are super quick. It's really busy and most nights you're bumping elbows trying to order a drink at the bar but it's worth it for a neighborhood bar. This place isn't a dive bar for you local residents.

Went here after dinner with my girls and it was definitely a hole in the wall but the music was on point the vibes was giving grown folks no drama. I enjoy myself and the staff was friendly and the drinks were good as well. I would recommend calling ahead to get a table because it's not that much standing room.

Absolut trash, the guy with the crippled right hand working valet was rude, yelling and being very disrespectful to people.

I personally liked Urban Social. It has a similar vibe to Davenports in that they play great R&B music (and hip hop of course), and they have STRONG drinks!! They had a food truck in the back if you wanted something to eat. It's Not the biggest building so it gets a little crowded but the parking is free, there's no cover entry, the drinks are STRONG and the music vibes were flowing.

Very intimate spot , live DJ, bring your own food... Only serve drinks.... Great atmosphere to just get away from it all.

Urban Social is Upper Kirby's newest hot spot for the urban crowd. If you've ever been to The Davenport I'm sure you've likely had a drink from Ashley. Well, the drink slanging machine who can twerk and fix up eight drinks at the same time has opened her own bar. You already know what the vibe is here. For those of you who remember the original Swagger, which I miss dearly, the vibes are very similar. The drinks are on point and have catchy names to match. If you're hungry, there is a food which is prepared by a food truck. Since we had just came from brunch, we didn't order food; therefore, I can't speak for that. However, I can say that the drinks and music is definitely great! If you are in the area and looking for a great time with friendly faces, stop by Urban Social.

First Time in this establishment, bartender Chris was Awesome!!!! Once he let Sugar turn to S...! Younger bartenders male and female, Anyone older then 25 + leave before or at 10PM. After 10PM there is NO gratitude!

Love the Friday Afternoon Bartenders! CLIFF AND alondra! Make this place so welcoming and fun! The regulat Friday afternoon crew is hysterical! If you have never been this is the place to kick off your weekend for sure!
