Friendly and welcoming service. Absolutely delicious food and chill vibe. My top two faves was the Korean bbq and the choke pizza. Also you won’t regret saving a little room for dessert! We went for a plain chocolate tahini chip and vanilla ice cream and it was Devine! Also, reasonable prices. We’ll be back!

Delicious, hip vegan eatery in the heart of Chelsea. The portions are large, the prices are fair. Everything is 100% vegan. The menu has a broad range of options and they always offer interesting specials. They also have a full mocktail menu if you aren’t into alcohol. Definitely a great place to stop by if you’re in the area!

I thoroughly enjoyed the decor and atmosphere here. My friend and I were immediately welcomed upon entry and directed to the seating area by the host. Our waitress went over the soup of the day with us and answered any questions we had about the menu. My friend and I opted for shareable dishes which was enough to split/share between the two of us. The food was absolutely delicious. We wanted something light but nourishing and UVK did just that !. The food presentation was good as were the beverages we had. 10/10

Good food, healthy, all Vegan, good service, reasonable prices, enjoyed the music. Able to have a conversation. I got a gluten free burrito bowl, filling and supportive high protein meal. We had a cauliflower appetizer with dipping sauce. Also, potato leek soup was enjoyed. We were so full, we could not consider dessert. See the pictures and video. Can I get a ❤️?

The vibe inside was artsy, welcoming, and fun. We were greeted upon entering. Immediate pluses!! Food was delicious. I ordered the Golden Era Chick-un & Waffles and my partner ordered something I forgot the name of, but it was a faux salmon sandwich I believe. I also ordered a drink which may have been the espresso yourself. Either way, we enjoyed our food and drinks. Would definitely visit again! *Another thing I appreciated was the attention to allergies. We were asked about allergies when we were placing our orders.

I ordered the salmon pasta to go. Interesting enough, the pasta actually tasted better when it was room temp-cold. Hot-warm, the sauce was a little weird. Not bad, but different. The salmon was amazing. I had to double back to make sure it wasn't real. For the size of the takeout container though, definitely not worth 30$ though. Either increase take out portion or decrease the price. I'm sure most of the price is coming from this fancy vegan salmon, but 30$, while affordable for me, is kinda insane given the size of the container.

Was in NY to catch a play at the Shed so walked over here afterwards for lunch. The interior decorations definitely make you feel like you are in an urban city. The music is also adds to the ambiance. They have a good sized menu with many sub menus that show gluten free items, soy free items and garlic and onion free items. I ordered the gf coconut shrimp, the mushroom asada and the respect your elders mocktail. The food was tasty. The konjac shrimp are hard to find so generally when I see them on a menu I order them. I did hesitate a bit as I’m not a fan of coconut. Luckily for me I didn’t taste any coconut on the shrimp. The mushroom asada, while delicious, it didn’t give me the flavors of steak. I think a portobello would have done a better job. I ate it all though. Just mentioning in terms of what your taste buds should expect. The respect your elders mocktail was yummy.

This place features a unique style atmosphere. Sort of gothic/punk vibe. The service is not very good. One waiter was very polite and professional, while the other waiter was not nice/. She wouldn’t let us sit in the party of 4 table because we were a party of 2 and wanted the extra space, even though we were the first customers in and the restaurant was empty. Other than that, the food was below average. I ordered french toast and my uncle ordered the burrito, which he did not enjoy. The music was a little on the loud side. Some things on the positive side were that the 2nd waiter was very polite and professional.

Urban Vegan Kitchen is an establishment on Carmine St. It is near West 4th Street, which is close to various hang-out spots, shops, and Washington Square Park. Urban Vegan Kitchen has both indoor and outdoor seating. Colorful, vibrant decor is all around w/ in their 2-Floor space in the form of cool artwork, wall pictures, in their seating arrangements, etc. They also have wooden flooring and some wooden tables. Urban Vegan Kitchen has pictures of icons displayed on the walls. Prince, Elvis, James Brown, Miles Davis, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Malcolm X, Stevie Wonder, Grace Jones, A Tribe Called Quest and so many more legends pictures are all dislayed. Slogans like " Music is the Answer," "Love is Love" & "Akways Be Compassionate Never Be A Sucka" are also painted on the walls of this place. "Oldies But Goodies" are played at Urban Vegan Kitchen, and we were singing and dancing in our seats as we enjoyed our brunch. The three of us had a nice brunch experience. Two of us ordered a Belgian Waffle w/ Chick-Un in the form of Fried Seitan. This was my first time having Fried Seitan, and it definitely tasted like fried chicken. The Belgian Waffle was amazing. My other friend had a vegan burger w french fries. Two of us had cocktails that were good and well-prepared. One of my favorite vegan spots in the city. The Mac and cheese and the Dirty Green Quesadilla are my go tos! The wings are an honorable mention as well! Staff is always friendly and upbeat. To top it off the entire place is decorated beautifully, always something to look at. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a meal.

Eclectic interior design and ample indoor seating. Service was slower than typical. Order your dishes through mobile and the hostess comes over to confirm. Choose between paying at the beginning or opening a tab and paying at the end. I ordered the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was quite small. I finished it in less than 10 bites. While parts were tasty, the tofu in the sandwich was SO SALTY that I was not able to drink enough water to satiate my thirst afterwards and that was the overwhelming taste. The fries were also really salty.

came here for my friends bday dinner! super easy to get to from the subway. note they don't have a liquor license yet but the mocktails looked fun. we started with the mushroom empanadas and loaded broccoli. both delicious! it was so hard to choose starters. loaded mac n cheese and pizza were pretty good. i think i would try something else next time, like a sandwich and the onion rings my friend got looked amazing. service was great too! overall great choice for a dinner for 2 or even a larger table!

Really love this place. The vegan Mac n cheese is best I have ever had. Whether or not you are vegan, this place is a great vibe, good food, and pretty good service. With two levels, there are lots of cool places to sit, including a bar area. Lots of things to look at and appreciate on the walls and well as good drinks. Definitely a recommended experience.

favorite vegan spot in NYC- their mac and cheese is SO good, the basement is so cool and love the decor. They have so many options, and all my meat eater friends loved it (even more than meat!) Can't wait to go back

Speechless... The chili cheese fries were amazing, the rich boy and blt were scrumptious. I can't wait to go back! AND CAN'T FORGET THE GINGER BEER CMONNNN

So I'll give this place like a 3.8, I'd like to try more from their menu but I did like the restaurant. There's art all over the walls. I went on a Sunday at around 4:30pm. It wasn't packed at all but I get the idea that it's a really good time on like a Friday or Saturday evening. They played great music and the service was really good. The manager and server were attentive and helpful. I really enjoyed the buffalo switch wings, those were really good. I also got the chili cheese fries which were good and the oyster mushroom wings. Those were ok I feel like the batter and how it was fried could've been better. I've had better oyster mushroom wings. My cousin got the chili burger no chili lol but fair warning, if you don't eat Vegan food or have tried beyond burgers, this is not that. It's more of a mushroom bean burger with a mushier consistency and falls apart. The flavor itself wasn't bad, it was more so the consistency for her, if you're not used to that. I had the French toast and thoroughly enjoyed it, I recommend it and would absolutely get it again. The fruit was so fresh.

First time coming here and biggest reason was because they were vegan. One of my good friends is vegan, and we try to find places that can accommodate her diet. Also big surprise was that this was right by the water. Even on a terrible day (huge windstorm and rain), we made it and were seated soon (with reservation). We ordered a number of pizzas, nachos, and other plates to share. PROS: - pizzas were great size - nice even amount of cheese, including vegan cheese - nachos were generously topped (nothing worse than stingy tacos). CONS: - the lighting sucked. It was SO dark, I wasn't sure what I was eating. - a little bit too loud, this was for my birthday dinner and I lost my voice because i had to shout for my friends to hear. Would I come here again? Probably in the summer on a good day so we can do it outside in nice weather by the water. Definitely not indoors though :)

Each time I come here, I like it better than the last. Currently my favorite dishes are the coconut shrimp and the po' boy with fries, but I have a lot of fun exploring the menu as well. They're nice here and the atmosphere is good too. Worth a visit for sure, and I guarantee that if you get the po' boy you won't be disappointed.

This place was pretty cool . I love the interior design . I also loved the fact that you can do your order online pay and everything and you can keep your tap open too if you want more items that was pretty dope . I got the Korean bbq wings they were really nice I got them extra crispy . The sauce was really nice . I also had the impossible burger and got onions rings instead of fries . It was a extra 2 bucks but it was only 4 big onion rings and I felt the batter could have been better seasoned . But it was good and the crunch was on point . The burger was a impossible burger but there was a nice sauce on it that I really enjoyed . I want to come back and try something else because what I got wasn't nothing special . Also make reservations , it's just easier to be seated that way

As a Los Angeles native, I grew up enjoying the melting pots of everyone's Soul Food... so, my tastebuds are well versed... Urban Vegan Kitchen's take on foods makes me long for some of the ethnic comfort foods I enjoyed as my youth... but this isn't about all that... this is about their Onion Rings... Astro Burger in West Hollywood is famous for their onion rings... similar to Randy's Doughnuts... the Onion Rings were the gold standard... and I've eaten these golden halos of delight for over 40 years! UVK finally has dethroned Astro, except I'd have to come to NY to enjoy these delicious, crunchy, battered just perfectly (where it doesn't come off on your fingers, or the onion) well balanced flavors (that are just off the chain!!!) Now, the UVK mushroom burger, a total experience... The Mississippi Mud Pie... would give NOLA a run for their money! All that was missing was the creole salted coffee... Seriously, UVK is all that... and you need to try it, especially those perfect onion rings!

Tried this vegan place and went for outdoor seating. There is a heater on top and you can adjust the heat settings as desired. Ordered the Chick-Un and Waffles, Buffalo Cauliflower Bites, Classic BLT. First time trying southern fried seitan as a non vegetarian/vegan and the texture was similar to real chicken. Cauliflower bites was coated with buffalo sauce and still crispy after awhile. Regarding the service, not sure if it was because my friend and I sat outdoors but no one really came to check on us or refilled our water. That was the reason I would give this place a lower rating. Other than that, food was great.

I love that you can order & pay through your phone!!! No splitting checks required. The staff is extremely attentive and personable. I am picky about French toast and loved mine. I don't normally like Mac n cheese but theirs is easily top 1-2 I've had vegan or not. The tofu scramble and tempeh bacon was fine. The shiitake mushroom was okay. I didn't like the souther fried chicken at all. My 11yo sister ate half her waffle, all the fruit, and took the rest home. A rare feat! My step mom loved the breakfast sandwich, which the staff recommended to her as an omnivore who isn't interested in faux burgers etc. The drip coffee is superb. They offer soy and oat milk.

Was very impressed. Im not a fan of Vegan impersonation food, i think it takes away from the true identity of food (but that's another discussion lol) nonetheless they do it well. The Seitan is to die for. We had the korean wings to start which was more like a hot bbq but it was splendid. Had the Richboy - it had avocado, seitan, special sauce and pickles. I was full and couldn't stop eating it. The fries were underwhelming. The vegan coquito with rum was also on point. I also appreciate the menu and ordering system (you can order everything on your phone) makes it very seamless.

Contrary to what the reviews say this restaurant didn't permanently close it moved to Chelsea - right across from the hotel Chelsea on 23rd st. Really cute decor, friendly and engaging waitstaff. We ordered the spicy broccoli for an appetizer and it was the star of the meal! My teenage daughter had jackfruit tostadas which were very yummy on their own and I had the kale Caesar salad with shiitake bacon. The salad and bacon and dressing were very tasty. I would skip the vegan parm if ordering the same dish again- it didn't add much but a texture and admittedly I'm not a big fan of cheese, even vegan cheese. Overall it was a great meal. Im giving 4 stars not 5 because there was a funky smell throughout the restaurant that made it hard to enjoy- like a rotting garbage smell. This may have been outside or from the lot behind but it made it hard to fully relax and enjoy. I would return again and definitely recommend for vegans in the area because I'm pretty sure it was out of their control and just a fluke.

We'll get yourself ready for some comfort food y'all. Some Mac that will blow your mind. Cocktails that are strong and flavorful. Food that will leave you in a coma from not being able to stop eating!! First off, Sunday brunch is my favorite meal. Feed me all the brunch every day. My husband really wanted the Mac n cheese with mushroom bacun but I haven't had Mac since I was vegan, aside from a meal delivery made by a vegan chef, that I liked. The table next to us was enjoying some and I asked and they said it was their absolute favorite item. So I caved in. We enjoyed some cocktails, and then the Mac. WOW. I was blown away. Cheesy. Check. Flavorful. Check. Didn't just taste like a pile of Nooch check. Perfectly cooked pasta check. And the bacun. Wowsa. Absolutely everything about the Mac was perfection. So so good. Now I had a super hankering for a burger so the Super Dope burger it was for me. And yes it was super dope. I can't do "vegan replacement meats" so I chose this since it had the roasted mushroom barley patty, then cashew cheese sauce, sour cream, pickled jalapeno, Dijon mayo, and chili. Wow. Super Dope flavor. Super Dope spice. Really good flavorful and filling burger. My husband loved his Po' boy. Fried to perfection, spices and seasoned well and exactly what he wanted. I also have to say, the margarita was one of the best I've ever had. And I'm very picky on my margaritas! Great brunch!

Holy macaroni! SO incredibly surprised at how incredibly good this food is. I was a little worried that the food would be underwhelming but boy was I wrong. Okay so first of all, when you go in, you can open a tab on their app and order online. They still have servers but this is a little unique to other places. Second of all, the food comes out very fast. We got the cauliflower buffalo wings, crispy brussel sprouts, Korean bbq wings, an the mac and cheese. We finished off with getting the mud pie for dessert. Everything was really great! Buffalo wings were tasty, the Korean wings were really yummy and the mac and cheese blew me away. As someone who has tried and failed to make vegan mac and cheese at home, I was quite humbled as how good it was! I wont lie, it's a little on the pricey side but considering how good and quick everything was, I think the prices are fair. Would definitely recommend UVK to anyone.

A cute establishment! Cozy inside with nice music, outdoor heating pretty good as well (not cold when we sit outside). Pay & order is completely online/digital -- makes splitting the bill easy. Service is super great as well, the staff is very friendly :) Fries tasted good, impossible burger had a nice horseradish sauce, and their brussel sprouts were pretty good as well. I personally wasn't a big fan of the korean bbq / cauliflower buffalo bites though!

My friend is vegan so we're always looking for new good vegan restaurants to try. We've been to Blossom before and really enjoyed it. Since this restaurant is by the same folks, we decided to give it a try. The restaurants are 2 totally different vibes--which is fine--but also the food is notably better at Blossom. The tostada was good... but not filling. The brussell sprouts were greasy (I've had way better). The mocktail was bitter (how does agave, lavender, orange, pineapple, and hibiscus result in anything other than a fruity sweet drink?). We had the black and blue pie for dessert. We waited for quite some time while they warmed it, yet it still came out cold. At that point, I was just ready to go. We ate it, but neither of us felt it was anything special. After spending $70 plus tip, both my friend and I were still left hungry. Afterwards, we went to the Shake Shack down the street. For a tenth of the price we actually felt satisfied! Also, I personally wasn't a fan of the ambiance although my friend was. We had made a reservation for two and when we got there the only table available was in the basement in the corner against the wall. You have to view the menu and order through the app, but the poor reception in the basement made that experience cumbersome. I'm not particularly claustrophobic, but it felt crowded. Downstairs was dark. And it didn't help that there was a large party right next to us that was really rambunctious. I'm not knocking them: they came to have a good time so that's great for them. I'm just noting that the whole setup wasn't really conducive to my own enjoyment of the experience.

The drinks were amazing. I love the great selection of mocktails. We tried the libra, it was excellent.

Urban Vegan Kitchen is a hip eatery in the West Village that has the kindest staff and the most delicious vegan comfort food. You will be sat and greeted by one of the lovely servers but all orders are placed online once you sit at the table-although I am usually not fond of this method (many restaurants that use this often lose that interaction/customer service factor-not the case here), UVK did a great job with this practice: the method kept things rolling and the service was still top tier. The menu has so many incredible options it can be overwhelming. The drinks are delicious to start, and I really enjoyed their UVK Margarita. For food, you can't skip their Chili Cheese Fries or their famous Chick'n and Waffles. I also really enjoyed their "build a bowl" option, which allows you to try a few of their different favorites-PERFECT for those who want to try everything. The Mac and Cheese, Brussels, and Wings are all things you can add that you'll want to order. UVK was an absolute genius for blessing us with this "sampler" option: NEVER take it off the menu, I beg you! Everything is delicious and flavorful and the portions are great as well. To make things even better, everyone that I encountered on my visit was friendly and helpful. We were greeted by the sweetest young lady who had an incredible personality-she "passed the torch over" to another waiter who was also awesome, and all those who I passed on the way to the restroom or asked for extra sauces and etc were just wonderful. I can't wait to come back to UVK!

How come I did not know about this place? Vegan, vegetarian or not, the food is delicious! I stop by to grab a burger and man.... Delicious. The decor is chill, staff relax, friendly and professional. Definitely will be back to seat down and enjoy the rest of the menu.

This place exceeded our expectations by a mile! My partner and I were in town for a weekend and wanted to visit a Black owned vegan restaurant so se swung by for lunch. We made a reservation at lunchtime on a Saturday. We were instantly greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and shown to our table. I loved the fact that I didn't have a waiter hovering over me, and I could just choose and order from their (expansive) menu via the QR code. Everything we had was fantastic, from the cocktail (Gin Around The World) and Prosecco, to our food. We ordered the Mac & cheese with seitan bacon, cauliflower Buffalo wings, and seasoned fries. It came out quickly and tasted incredible. As soon as I took my last bite someone was there to clear my plate as if I were in a fancy restaurant. The prices, service, art, music, food, drinks were all five star quality. We will DEFINITELY be back.

I can admit- Vegan dining is a whole other beast. There's great Vegan food, the same way there's bad Vegan food. Since hubs and I had eaten at a fave, lay-back French restaurant of ours about 2 blocks away from here sometime ago, we introduced our Vegan daughter- who's visiting from the West Coast to it. We all know French food isn't naturally Vegan-friendly but she managed with the few the menu offered. Problem was, she felt like eating something more substantial by the end of our Saturday Father's Day eve dinner. On Carmine St. in the West Village, Urban Vegan Kitchen is the place to be- because it was poppin inside and outside right down to the music. My daughter ordered 2"Chorizo"+Veggie Empanadas, a Chocolate Chip Cookie for her and a Mississippi Mud Pie for me. When we picked up our meal, Urban Vegan Kitchen's atmosphere is how every Vegan restaurant should be: alive, warm, have character with smack-your-ass awesome Vegan food- and not some antiseptic-looking Vegan spot. Yelp has them listed as BBQ, Comfort Food and Waffles. What's missing on their Yelp page, is the Vegan part of it- because EVERYTHING is Vegan. Between my daughter's items and my dessert, I have no complaints. Plus sister girl hostess with the 'fro was so bubbly and friendly! I appreciate you! I'm a Pescatarian and even if you are a meat-eater, Urban Vegan will perhaps appeal to you- because their menu will do that. I'm truly happy this joint was on our radar and feel it's fair for me to say even though I'm not a Vegan, the menu had me pretty much hooked.

So delicious. We enjoyed everything we had. It was a little unique not having a dedicated waiter for the cost of the food. You order everything on the app and start a tab. The waiter we had was very nice, but we didn't really get to ask any questions about the menu, which would have been kind of nice. We did get to ask questions about the drinks. The drinks were unique and delicious. Matcha Matcha Matcha for the win!

Food was good. Everything came out piping hot. Freshly made. My date ordered a burger. I ordered the kale quesadilla and the Vegan macit was good. The Uvk Quarter Pounder and fries. Fries were delish. The burger needed more seasoning. But good. No beyond meat. So we liked that. Service was great. Sat down right away. No wait ambiance was chill Dj was jamming. They even have a bar. I had a shot of tequila while I waited for my meal. Would visit again.

A vegetarian friend of mine was in town and she wanted to check out Urban Vegan Kitchen - I had no expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised! We stopped by for brunch on a Saturday and there was a decent amount of people, but we didn't have to wait and were seated inside. The interior was really cool with graffiti and photos all over the walls. We got chili, Mac and cheese, and buffalo cauliflower bites - all tasted great! We also ordered the wing flight but it seems like it was forgotten because after we finished everything, we checked in with them on the order and they brought it out much later; for me, it was an interesting texture (of course given that it's seitan) but other than that, it was good and the dipping sauces were tasty!

I really liked the contact less food ordering solution that was in place as I could order food online with all the customisations I needed and get it delivered to my table. Although the food ordering was made online, people were around to check on you and get you anything else. The food tasted really good and was well made. The salty margarita I had was spot on and was really happy to have dined here :)

This was a very tasty burger. I made the order and it was delivered still hot. So, I got to experience the fresh flavor of this burger and I will say it's pretty good. I need to revisit this place and try other dishes on the menu. Live, love and laugh - Sha

Finally got to try this vegan comfort food place. We had the Korean bbq wings, chick-un & waffles, and super Mario quesadilla. Everything was solid and delicious. I really like the texture of the bbq wings and chick-un made from seitan. It's tender and mochi like which was great. They also made the waffles extra crispy to my preference. The waffle was only slightly sweet which is good as that keeps the dish more on the savory side and balanced flavor. Loved the garlic kale on top of the waffles and quesadilla. The super Mario quesadilla was mushroom based which I live and they definitely packed a lot of mushrooms. Definitely wanna come back to try other things (just be ready for the high calories!).

Lots of comfort food pretty good if you like that sort of thing There were some things on the menu. I think it was the Poboy that could have used some spices and better presentation.

The actual chicken and waffles were good. But I didn't like the sauce on the side and the syrup was watery and had a weird after taste. I just added ketchup. I wasn't super hungry. So I took half of the meal home and used my Mrs. Butter worth's and it was perfect! The food took a very long time to come out. But our server was amazing. And the vibes were good, ambiance was very, very nice.

Caveat: This review is by a late generation X who was with a baby boomer friend at this restaurant. Saying that, different generations have varying reception and perception on using mobile device to view the menu, order, and pay for the order and give tip. It bequests the question: why tip if the customer has does the upfront work? What makes ordering different than going to a fast food kiosk? So remember to have a charged cell and have ipay integrated on your cell. I have a friend who does not that on the phone and the bill assumes all have Apple Pay. I also don't like to integrate my bank account with third party apps. Food is comforting!

Do not delay! Come visit Urban Vegan Kitchen when you want perfect vibes and unctuous comfort food. Lots of NYC restaurants struggled through the first years of the pandemic, and the Vegans of NY (VONY) have miserably watched many of our favorites close. So Partner and I were delighted to sit next to the open doors of fresh air on what was one of the last few warm late October nights. The DJ mix had us moving in our seats. The service was fast and warm, despite the busy Friday evening crowd. The non-alcoholic drinks were well worth the time of the friendly bartender- frosty and not too sweet! My mac and cheese with southern seitan and broccoli satiated my cranky - hungry appetite and warmed me over with creamy comfort. And in that moment- watching early Halloween costumed Villagers amble for the next pint, letting the breeze drift over our warmed tahini chocolate chip cookie and cold oat milk, moving our hips in our seats, I realized that this is why we love this town, and why we keep coming back to Urban Vegan Kitchen for more.

What a cute spot in the village! I met up with a friend here. We made reservations just in case, it was quick and simple. We got seated quickly and their ordering system is all through your phone which was so great! We ordered a few things and had a couple of beautiful cocktails. There were so many great choices of fun + creative vegan platters. All the cocktails had the best ingredients and you could upgrade to your choice of liquor brand. I chose Basil Hayden's. We ended up chatting for so long, thank goodness the service was great! They always checked up on our orders, cleared the table and stopped in to see if we needed anything. I will definitely be back.

First of all this place has limited seating upstairs but down stairs there is more tables. The people who own and run the placecare super friendly and helpful. Now the food. I would give this place 6vstars. The burger I consumed that had added bacon and another topping was super delicious. And I mean like a real arteriy clogging burger. The BLT was tasty but the burger FORGET ABOUT IT. The food is super, not good, I said super. This whole food plant based food is worth the trip. Also the prices are decent.

I guess im vegan full time now the way this place was amazing. The food, atmosphere and people were wonderful. Definitely coming here more often

I just wanted to update my food poisoning situation- I was bedridden and had the worst food poisoning of my life for FOUR DAYS after eating here. Beware!!!!

Best waffle I've had in my life, amazing mocktails, wonderful service from the sweetest server (Adrielle,) I would eat this every day of my life if given the opportunity. I dreamt about this waffle last night. It's that good. Ambiance was so lovely and cozy!

As a lifelong meat fan, I sincerely have to tip my hat to the folks here at UVK. I came here quasi-reluctantly at the behest of a date who was vegan. She knows that I, as an original southerner, have a DEEP affinity for the franchise commonly known as Waffle House, so she promised to introduce me to a vegan spot that could go toe-to-toe with them. And damn if she wasn't (almost) right! If I hadn't known I would have sworn their "chicken and waffles" was the real thing, or at least a very delicious dark meat subsitute. The portions were also plentiful and satisfying. She had the lasagna, which I sampled, and was also great. If I lived closer I would definitely be a much more frequent customer, and can't recommend it highly enough. Go here fam.

In a nutshell: Satisfying Vegan comfort food with very amiable service and colorful drinks! THE GOOD You always can find a seat, I've come at different times and even large group's always can find room. You can place the order yourself by scanning the menu, adding your credit/debit card, and picking from the menu. I've grown accustomed to that in some restaurants but, unless you have questions, the interaction with your server will be minimal which might or not be a plus for you. I will say my waiter tonight has always come with a smile and enthusiasm and even if we haven't chatted as much, I appreciate it even more. On my way in and back to the bathroom, the staff is always very courteous and always with a smile, a real one, not like in other places. THE BEST Try the mac and cheese, I had the salmon last time and the flavor and texture were on point. In a blind taste, I would challenge anyone to try this "cheese" dish and find out it's actually plant-based. The drinks... Perhaps was tonight's bartender but the drinks (The first, I ordered with Patron, and the second one with Don Julio) were kind of the weaker side, if I were you skip the cocktails and order wine or beer (Haven't had those myself but I reckon its a safer bet since bypasses the bartender) but by no means bad, just average you know? The ambiance is quite relaxed, very mixed crowd, it is a place not so much to immerse yourself but to socialize with friends or on a date, the music playlist is a take-it-or-leave-it situation. If you want Vegan comfort food that actually tastes like your good home-cooked well-seasoned ones, come here and treat yourself. LEAVE YOUR BELT AT HOME

Amazing service! Love the variety of food choices. Vegan food can be limiting. The coconut shrimp had us questioning if they were trying to sneak some real shrimp in. But it's all vegan! They don't use a lot of soy or "beyond" meat, which is great! And the service is always amazing, No matter the day or time! The atmosphere is chill and retro. A great place to chill and eat delicious vegan food. (For the record, I'm not 100% vegan and the quality of the food is on point!)

We went to Urban Kitchen on Valentine's Day. It was a good experience and the staff were very friendly. The food is definitely on the hardier side and there are lots of choices. Conveniently, you can order through a mobile website which is super cool.

Love this place. They have fantastic vegan comfort food, fun drinks, cute space, and everyone who works here is really nice. I'm addicted to the Chickn ranch salad - but I liked everything I've ever tried here.

Would recommend for good vegan food! We ordered the fried seitan po boy ($17), cashew mac and cheese ($15), and waffles ($14). My friend was pleasantly surprised that the "cheese" for the mac and cheese tasted exactly like cheese. The seitan po boy was pretty good, except a little bulky of a sandwich. The fried it came with were also pretty good. I'm not sure if I would pay $17 for it though, the price was a little steep for lunch since with tax and tip it came to mid 20s. My other friend said the waffles were good but nothing special. Altogether, we concluded the food was solid. We really loved the atmosphere! There was nice music, lots of chatter, and fun decor. The only thing is the music was almost too loud to be able to hear each other, and we had to speak uncomfortably loudly. Overall, would recommend if you're in the area!
