Yelp
My friends and I were very excited to try Urth as we have driven by this specific location many times. I was looking for a sweet, refreshing treat and a drink to motivate me through my day of shopping in the area. I ordered the Thai Red Tea Latte and the fruit tart to munch on (the total was $18.47).
CONS: Unfortunately, the drink was a huge letdown. It had a very potent taste of grass jelly (if you know, you know), and was not really sweetened, despite being told that it was a sweet drink. This was something I had wanted to avoid, hence asking how sweet it is prior to ordering it. To add onto the poor depiction of this drink, my overall experience with the girl who took my order felt very standoffish. She seemed to just want me to be done ordering and to get out of the way even though there was no line behind me. Her responses to my questions were short and barely helpful. I also didn't like that the prices were not listed on their menu (probably because they're overpriced lol) and that a few of the pastries in the case were not labeled, leaving room for uncertainty and QUESTIONS.
PROS: The fruit tart salvaged my first-time experience here. Although it sounds totally basic, the fruit tart had the perfect amount of sweetness, fruits, thickness in the crust, and creaminess in the custard. Disregarding the girl who took my order, the ambiance of the store itself is really cute--earthy, even. Many of the tables outside were taken as we went on a sunny, breezy day. They also have plenty of indoor seating. It was really easy to find street parking, but all of the nearby spots only allow for 2 hours of parking so make sure to watch the time.
