mostly korean & mexican food cause that's what LA EXCELS at. also only a sliver of the all of the AMAZING food spots LA has to offer

Urth Caffe- Melrose

Coffee shop · West Hollywood

urth - classic. is it overrated? yes. is it good tho? also yes. my go to is their farmer's salad and this is purely so i can get the fruit and nut bread that comes with it - i think erewhon might sell that same bread

Sqirl

Cafe · East Hollywood

i hate and love sqirl - they had a huge jam controversy but honestly their jams are so good and so is their food. ricotta toast with jams is so good & so are their bowls. they also have very good baked goods

Republique

French restaurant · Hancock Park

she's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment. republique is such an iconic space in LA but their foods are good too so like really its a win win

Erewhon Market

Natural goods store · Venice

i actually do love erewhon and all their expensive snacks - $17 smoothies - kinda debatable if worth but fun to go to teehee

Malibu Farm Pier Cafe

Temporarily Closed

classic, iconic, healthy foods with a beautiful view of malibu

L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Restaurant · Hollywood

super famous naples pizza spot that opened up a location in LA - great napoli pizzas

King Taco

Mexican restaurant · Pico-Union

a list of LA spots would never be complete without KT. Very consistently good, cheap, fast tacos. Won't be the most amazing, standout taco ever, but will always hit the spot.

Daikokuya

Restaurant · Historic Core

very famous ramen spot - consistently delivers great quality ramen everytime

Santouka

Ramen restaurant · Mar Vista

my personal favorite ramen place - it's hokkaido style ramen so rich tonkotsu broth with the squiggly ramen noodles

Great White

Californian restaurant · Venice

one of those trendy brunch spots that are super healthy. honestly really delicious

Gjelina

American restaurant · Venice

modern american style restaurant - great casual eats

Salt & Straw

Ice cream shop · Venice

the city of hella salt and straws - best ice cream in the US imo - flavors are amazing and the texture of the ice cream to the chunkage ratio is perfection

Ricky's Fish Tacos

Permanently Closed

some of the best fish tacos in the LA area

Din Tai Fung

Taiwanese restaurant · Century City

self explanatory - best xiao long baos ever

Sidecar LA

Donut shop · Santa Monica

FRESH donuts - they constantly pump out donuts by the hour & their flavors are amazing. on the classic menu, the best is their butter & salt and their original glazed

Porto's Bakery & Cafe

Bakery · Downey

cuban bakery with the best potato balls and cheese rolls - a MUST

Teddy's Red Tacos

Restaurant · South Park

one of the most famous birria taco spots & honestly probably one of the better ones

Tacos Tamix

Permanently Closed

best al pastor taco in the city imo

Sonoratown

Mexican restaurant · Downtown Los Angeles

sonoran style tacos in dtla - costilla and chorizo tacos are to die for

Tartine Silverlake

Bakery · Silver Lake

bakery chain originally started in SF - best sourdough bread ever and probably the best croissant u can get in the us. truly so devoted to bread and amazing quality craftsmanship when it comes to bread

Konbi

Permanently Closed

japanese sandwich spot - great katsu sando & even better pain au chocolat

Jopok Topokki

Permanently Closed

boonshik - what more can i say. tteokbokki, mandu, gimmari, ugh the best

Han Bat Sul Lung Tang

Korean restaurant · Koreatown

best sullangtang - their sooyook is also very good but my favorite is their salkogi seollangtang -- got featured in goop so there are more people starting to explore seollangtang, but they've managed to keep their quality great. hella jingook spot

Chunju Han-il Kwan

Korean restaurant · Koreatown

really good jjigaes

Chosun Galbee

Korean restaurant · Harvard Heights

super high quality kogi and great other options too - imo one of the best kogi places

Hangari Bajirak Kalguksoo

Korean restaurant · Koreatown

kalgusku is a must for the colder rainier days

Soban

Korean restaurant · Koreatown

the best korean restaurant in LA imo - their ganjanggaejang is so freaking fresh and the banchan is unmatched
