"Urth Caffe’s new Hawthorne commissary kitchen and cafe is opening on October 27. The popular cafe already has locations across the city, from Pasadena to West Hollywood to the Arts District, but this new location at 4940 W. 147th Street will boast the largest patio in the portfolio, and will act as a headquarters for the company." - Farley Elliott

"Organic coffees and teas made their debut at Urth Caffe over the weekend at the new Wynn Plaza. The 5,493-square-foot, European-styled coffee shop is the first non-California, U.S. expansion for the Los Angeles-based brand and is expected to feature its casual breakfast and lunch selections. The eatery features a centerpiece of a handmade ceramic tile fountain highlighted by a star-shaped skylight. Sandwiches such as a classic Reuben, pot roast, and turkey burger rely on sustainable ingredients. They join a roster of salads, panini, and pizzas. Breakfast includes granola or bread pudding bowls, oatmeal, and egg dishes such as poach di parma with prosciutto di parma topped with soft-poached eggs, eggs salmon, a natural beef hash, and eggs verde. Urth Caffe from Jilla and Shallom Berkman originally opened in 1991 in Manhattan Beach, California, after the couple launched what they call 'the nation’s first exclusively organic, heirloom coffee company.' It joins the new Cipriani at Wynn’s new shopping promenade that extends from Allegro to Las Vegas Boulevard. Urth Caffe is open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday." - Susan Stapleton

Went in on a Wednesday night for a catch up with friends, they have an amazing pastry cabinet and a good patio and indoor area for seating. We ordered the pesto chicken salad, pesto chicken sandwich and the chicken soup. The soup was tasty, and it comes with 2 pieces of sourdough and butter and had a good amount of thigh meat in the soup. The pesto chicken salad came on a plate, which was a bit difficult to eat, as it couldn’t be mixed easily. The sandwich was good and had a salad as well as a side. Portion sizes were good. The tables are quite small to eat on with a group. Servers are very friendly, helpful and we ended up staying to chatting until close. Their selection of tea is also very extensive and they come in their own French press style tea pot. I also left my wallet there and the called the following day, they were so helpful and all of my stuff was still in it! Theresa are still amazing people in LA and they work here!

Google
It wasn’t bad. The avocado pizza was pretty nice. The Matcha on the other hand was not that good you can tell that the Matcha is like not the best which is fine but it’s the same price as good quality matcha. Overall, the huevos rancheros was also OK. The atmosphere is cute though they have their own thing going on so take it what it is.

I always like coming here because of the vibe. The food and beverages are nice too. It's in the middle of nowhere which makes it nice too since it feels a bit remote from the city, yet in the middle of it. The bill can add up if you order coffee and food. So be prepared to spend a bit.

I've never been to this café before. It's a hidden jem 😍💕. The iced coffee is good. Definitely try the Spanish iced latte or the honey vanilla iced latte if you like sweet and not to strong coffee. The panini was delicious, and don't get me started on the desserts🍰. I couldn't decided which one to try first. I like the fact that they have variety on the menu not just for coffee but for the food and desserts. The actual coffee shop is really cozy. I would definitely come back.

Just don’t. Over complicated and under whelming in every way. Place is crowded, food and drinks are slow, pricey, and one of our entrees was completely incorrect but after waiting so long we didn’t have time to send it back. Nothing was bad but nothing was great either. A lot of emphasis on flashy presentation over flavor. The outdoor seating is pretty. May be a good place to pick up cute desserts but in general you’re probably better off skipping it altogether.

Urth cafe is always a favorite. Fresh healthy food full of vibrant colors and textures. They have an immense selection of coffee, teas, juices and pastries. Their menu has something for everyone. I got an açaí bowl that came loaded with fruit and granola. My husband got their huevos rancheros and we got a side of bacon and eggs for our kid. Their eggs are top tier, golden orange/yellow yolk. Their croissants are large, the chocolate one was incredibly delicious and perfectly flaky. Order inside and wait for your food to be brought to the table you’re sitting at. Apple Pay accepted which is a huge relief cause we forgot our wallets. There’s plenty of seating inside and around the cafe. Parking can be tricky so there’s valet for $5, or you can park along the streets and walk up.

Google
This Urth Caffe location is excellent just like all the others we’ve been to so far! The food comes out pretty quickly even during peak hours, it tastes spot-on, and there is plenty of seating inside and outside. The only issue is parking - you might be lucky enough to find street parking like us, but chances are you’ll have to valet, so just prepare for that. We got the Earl grey tiramisu (absolutely fantastic, HIGHLY recommended), the “New Yorker” sandwich (a very good Reuben sandwich that tastes exactly like you’d want), pot roast Urth quesadilla (super good, way better than chicken, which is already good), and a Spanish latte and a Thai red tea latte for our drinks. All of the food was amazing and we would order everything again, and the drinks were very good as well - especially the Spanish latte! Get it iced, order it strong, and it’s one of the best iced lattes you’ll ever have! All in all, this is an awesome spot for breakfast or lunch, so check it out if you’re in the area!!

I like the ambience at this cafe. The menu offers so many great selections. I love the coffee and latte options. I don’t like that they charge for parking. I would recommend you share a plate, it can get pricey real quick, The omelettes are good and pancakes.

Vanesa R.

Yelp
Love that we have one close to us here. This location is pretty neat, they have Valet for $5 parking can be a bit hard but you might score some parking on the street. It's a pretty big location compared to others I've visited. Love that there's patio seats and inside and even on the aide with a nice little patio waterfall. The ambiance is very chill as well. We were able to score a table next to the fireplace it was a cold gloomy day and that hit the spot while we enjoyed our breakfast. As you enter they have Menu's so you can see what you are going to order. The drink menu is on the front as well. The staff here are very friendly and even the servers that bring you your food are always kind and helpful. The bathrooms are pretty clean and smell like a spa I loved that part. Very clean tho. I got the breakfast burrito and got all the fixings in the side so I can add as I go. It was delicious.

Yelp
In my humble opinion, Urth Cafe is an institution in LA, second only to Porto's. It's a place where you feel hesitant to explore new brunch spot, but you know that here, you can make a safe and satisfying choice. I believe that people can order online and pick up there because the wait time can be quite intimidating. I think their extensive menu makes it challenging to try everything, so I suggest focusing on their specialties. Their paninis and omelettes are worthy of praise. And for dessert, they have an impressive selection of sweet treats that cater to a wide range of tastes.

Yessica C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed that atmosphere at this location. It was definitely the biggest Urth Café I've been to with lots of spacious seating indoors, and in the patio area. They have an extensive menu much like their other locations and my favorite parts of Urth Café are the pastries and the drinks for sure. That veing said, This was my first time having a Rumi latte and it was delicious. I also tried the Italian cappuccino with a cute little bird foam design was really smooth and tasty as well. Service was good staff was kind and attentive. (Side note this place is Valet parking only and $5) The location is also a little bit hidden so if you drive fast you might miss it because it's behind a Best buy and next to some industrial looking buildings so you FYI

Briseida N.

Yelp
I love Urth Cafe! Their coffee is delicious and so are their pastries. This time we got tea to share , we got the Peaceful Mind size large which comes in a tea pot and it's great to stare. It was a bit busy because it was Valentines Day but the line went pretty fast. We got the Chicken Panini and an Orea cheesecake, both so good! If you sign up for their rewards, you get a free birthday dessert.

Aimee A.

Yelp
So this was a great little spot - I did come during a not-as-busy time, so no issues parking or waiting, but I have heard it gets really crowded. The parking lot is a little wonky - would not want to get stuck in there. I ordered a medium Italian Cappuccino (supposed to be cross between cap and latte), I would say it definitely seemed more latte than cap. Medium was pretty large, though, so I appreciated that. Sat near the window with a view of the side patio. They also kept their front "covid seating". Service was pleasant - I would return and try food next time - the pastries and cakes looked amazing!

Yelp
I've been going to Urth Caffe in the past 15 years and always love their Mocha Tiramisu. It's my go to order, with a good nice cup of latte. I was disappointed at this location that they don't have it on the day we went. So I opted out to the regular Tiramisu. It's great too! Very soft pillowy texture with great coffee flavor. I just wish I would have my regular go-to. This location offers several outdoor seating areas spread across three sides of the building. However, the only available table we could find was in front of the parking lot, which wasn't the most relaxing or enjoyable setting. The place was packed, so there was a bit of a wait for our food, which was understandable. I also ordered the breakfast burrito, but it was lukewarm and just okay. Overall, this spot is best for desserts and drinks--I'll definitely be back for those!

Christa M.

Yelp
The menu to this place is vast! There are so many different entrees, drinks, and pastries to choose from so it can be a little overwhelming. We decided to have breakfast here before our flight back home. We arrived at 9:15am and there was a line of about 20 people in front of us, on a Monday :x In total, we must've stood in line for about 30 minutes until it was finally our turn to order. The cashier was very friendly. We ordered: One acai smoothie One hot pistachio coffee One iced pumpkin pie latte with soy milk One order of french toast One sausage and potato omelet One mozzarella and tomato sandwich We found a table outside and waited for our food. Our drinks were brought out one by one and then finally came our food. The server was friendly as well. The food was bland. The omelet had no flavor and needed at least a pound of salt. My friends sandwich was decent as the bread was crunchy and the inside was warm. The inside though, had no flavor :( The french toast were delicious and fluffy - do not pass on those. Drinks were also eh. My pumpkin pie latte was not it as it had a weird dirt / sourly flavor and was not sweet - must've been a sugar free pie..... The hot pistachio coffee was disgusting and not good. The acai smoothie was healthy tasting, not bad. Overall, I would definitely give them another try since there are like a million different things on the menu and the workers were nice..

Adriana L.

Yelp
I had the breakfast burrito with a spinach wrap. It's a big serving. I only ate half. My husband had a breakfast burrito as well and he really enjoyed it. Our friends had the Egg Benedict and said it was delicious. The Spanish latte was very tasty and strong. They also sell beer or wine. It's a very busy restaurant so the staff is always cleaning and maintaining the dining area. The restroom is very clean and maintained as well. Parking is difficult because it's a small parking lot , so you can valet in the parking lot or park in the street or nearby shopping centers and walk to the restaurant.

Priscilla R.

Yelp
We were looking for a location that was close to the airport for friends that were visiting. This location is perfect! They have valet parking. If the lot is full there is street parking and also a shopping center right behind that you can park there and walk over. Location was busy, but the service was great and the line moved quickly. As soon as tables opened up they were buses quickly to have availability for people. Presentation of the food and pastries are always on point . Restaurant is well designed and kept clean which makes the ambiance pleasing.

Jaqueline P.

Yelp
Love coming to this location! It is has a lot of seating areas with open patio and tables inside. The line is always long, so expect to wait a bit or order online ahead. The food is delicious, you will not go wrong with anything you try. My go to is the pizza and matcha, highly recomend. Great place to hangout with friends.

Danni Y.

Yelp
A once youtube famous spot, likely overhyped now. The vanilla latte was good and the bread pudding breakfast come out great but wouldn't come back for any of their breakfast items. Got the huevos rancheros but it really lacked flavor, the breakfast is just your average eggs and potatoes and the bread doesn't even come toasted. There plenty of inside and outside seating so it could be an okay place to work as there's lots of natural light. Orders are placed at a counter and then the servers bring it out for you. Street parking is limited so if you want to park at the restaurant it's valet only ($5 cash or $6 with card)

Anna V.

Yelp
I really love Urth Cafe. I wish their prices were lower but I really think they are justified given the large portions, beautiful presentation, and high quality. I love eating indoors or outdoors here - outside is an adorable side patio with a fountain and umbrellas. Inside it feels sort of like an old stone train station meets a library - it would make a great spot to have a coffee and relax. Every food ive had has been stellar. I particularly love their quiches, smoothies, and the curry chicken salad sandwich. My father got the pistachio croissant which he said was one of his favorite pastries ever and those things are MASSIVE! I am always drooling over the lovely pastries while waiting in line.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Urth for a while now so I was excited when this opened in the South Bay a few years ago. I've been coming about once a month and everything on their menu is great! The parking can be tricky but there is street parking and value. Theres plenty of seating and the service is great. Only downside is that during peak hours, it can take a significant amount of time to get your order in and be seated. The ambiance is chill and great for any occasion.

Marissa M.

Yelp
Interesting location for an urth with valet parking which was not my fav since prices are already high. I ordered to go and it took awhile to make my one pizza but it was busy and workers were nice. I also got the ice mocha, which was good but honestly way too sweet and weirdly very chocolatey for more of a health food place. My boyfriend got the hot coffee of the day and was not a fan of the coffee they chose. I also got the prosciutto and arugula pizza which is my favorite. I love asking for extra chili oil on the side and it was made pretty well. Overall, the quality of the food was good, but the prices are definitely pretty steep and the service is relatively slow. I would love it if the parking was complementary as you're already paying quite a bit for the food and it doesn't seem fair as it's only the one parking lot offered.

Beth C.

Yelp
They made the other parking spaces on the front as an extended porch to accommodate more diners. It's cold outside when we went and wanted to try the ambiance outside . Frio but bearable with the heater. Plus the plants and plastic (?) vines makes it more appealing and secluded from the parking spaces. Food was great. You would wonder how your food would taste good with a great amount of consumers around you. How they are putting that time to construct your food despite the crowd. -Wild mushroom pizza was good with the "condiments" of grated cheese, chili oil and thyme leaves, it amps up the dish -chicken urth quesadilla. We just added the chicken and the guac, beans and salsa made it extra special -stuffed French toast. For me doesn't really need the maple syrup but the additional of the whipped cream inside or between the toast , is a welcome treat. -sunrise latte is one of the best matcha drinks I had, amongst good restos but needed to be careful as it is an energy drink so people with hypertension, be aware.. -mint mocha. It was a good drink but for me it was more of an authentic dark chocolate drink. Nothing wrong on the flavor, it's actually a good drink. The mint flavor was subtle which I love. The staff were warm amiable. Our request for such, on our table, wasn't slow unlike before. We appreciate them really, hence the big tip. And it's holidays too. Definitely, coming back

Jessica S.

Yelp
I recently had brunch here with my friend for my birthday recently and it's a cute little cafe. One thing to be aware is that it does have a small parking lot and they do valet parking during peak time. There is lots of street parking but that itself fills up quickly. There are nearby stores with large lots if all else fails that are a short walking distance from the cafe. There is both outdoor and indoor seating and you can bring your dog to the outdoor area. My friend and I ordered the breakfast sandwich. I got the Spanish granita. The food came out fairly quickly for it being busy and the servers were so nice and made sure we got all the items we ordered, the sandwiches were delish and the granita hit the spot.

Milena M.

Yelp
For my Birthday I wanted to go to my favorite place in South Gate, Urth Caffé. I got the pistachio milk latte for the first time, the New York style Cheesecake and my favorite sandwich, the Caprese, delicious food and relaxing ambiance that I can't compare. You can taste the quality ingredients in the dishes and drinks, highly recommended. My mom and myself had an amazing experience, beyond expectations! I can't wait to come back again!

Galilea G.

Yelp
Great ambience and very generous servings! The service was great. You can Definitely share a plate with someone else.

Senia O.

Yelp
The reply from the Owner was great .. feedback whether small or long... Just a lot to read.

Viv L.

Yelp
I find the food here unflavorful, I've had vegetarian food before that was flavorful so I can't figure it out. This was my second time here, I don't think I'll be back - I just had eggs and a side of potato latkes figuring you can't mess up eggs and potatoes. But everything was very plain, latkes were very thick tasted like flour patties overall not great and everything else was super expensive (warning). You also have to pay for parking-I was amazed the place actually does business I gave it a 1.0 because the service was good I'm really surprised more people haven't complained about the food

Christine L.

Yelp
This is a cute chain of cafes in LA known for their coffees and brunch dishes. It seems to get pretty crowded so come early. They have tons of both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor side patio is so nice, with a water fountain and lots of patio umbrellas. The food itself is really good- we got the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict on house-made potato latkes and the Egg and Prosciutto Panini. The eggs that they use are incredible- locally sourced, and so bright orange! The Benedict was delicious with crispy latkes and creamy hollandaise. I really like when places have latkes as an option for Benedicts. The egg yolk was also perfectly jammy and tasted really special. The panini was also delicious and cheesy. I really liked the tomato dipping sauce it came with as well. I also got a Spanish-style Latte, which was sweet, creamy and beautiful! Service is pretty fast on a weekday.

Ravinder A.

Yelp
We orders lunch on NYE for our pharmacy staff and the salads and portobello mushroom vegan panini was amazing!! I also ordered a chai tea latte and it was delish .

Gage G.

Yelp
Fresh off a flight from LAX. My girlfriend picked me up as I got back to town, and recommended this spot. When we arrived, we saw that parking was limited, however, there was Valet. Which is definitely a life saver (don't worry they take card). We ordered the chorizo, breakfast burrito, pancakes, and a matcha to share! Let me just say it was extremely fresh and delicious! 10/10 would recommend.

Scott M.

Yelp
I really wanted to like Urth based on all the reviews and blogs from others that have gone to their various locations throughout the LA/OC area. I went to their main location in Hawthorne which I think is also their roasting facility. I actually didn't know they had their own line of beans. I may come back based on that to buy beans (or just do it online). First of all, I went in the middle of the week, just past 9:30 am. It was crowded. They only have valet parking out front unless you are strictly doing a to-go order. Valet parking is $5. I took the crowded factor as a good thing going in. First you walk up and there is a menu stand to the right and the line starts to your left. I opened the menu and for a coffee shop I was overwhelmed. So many choices on the menu for food. I know we have to keep up with the ecomony, but these prices were kind of high in my opinion. After ordering an omelet and a Cortado, I was at $32! I watched the barista staffing the espresso machine and he was making drinks non-stop. He has dedicated staff just to deliver drinks! Not only was he busy, he took the time to make swans as latte art! What?!? One would expect hearts based on the volume, but I appreciated a barista that took the time. My Cortado (equal parts espresso to steamed milk) tasted good and the art was on point. My omelet arrived and it was ok. The eggs were a bit overdone by just a hair. I opted for fruit instead of potatoes and a protein. I always forget to ask if there are melons in the fruit as I am allergic. There were honeydews. Aside from that, I had an assortment of pineapple, grapes and watermelon. Aside from it being full inside, they did have the patio doors open and they do have a nice outdoor seating area with shade. I'm not sure if they serve this huge menu in all their cafes but maybe I will visit one of their regular cafes. Maybe this location was different since it was their headquarters? Not sure.

Anna R.

Yelp
I found this place by accident and so happy I did. I was meeting with a friend after work and was just trying to find a spot to for us to meet in the middle. The place is located in an industrial like area so there's plenty of parking and the inside was a lot bigger than I was expecting. I came in the evening around 5pm and it wasn't crowded. They had plenty of seats inside and outside. It's a great place for studying and meeting up. This was my first time trying Urth Cafe. I ordered an açaí smoothie and it was very delicious. I would love to come back to try their food, dessert and coffee.

Shannon T.

Yelp
What a fantastic selection of both food and drink! I had a beautiful pistachio iced coffee and a butternut squash flatbread pizza with ricotta which I love!! Atmosphere is just buzzing with life! Amazing place!!!

Rony J.

Yelp
I enjoyed the cafe it's very nice and clean. Very colorful great ambience and comfortable. They have plenty to choose from so much that it's kind of hard to finally choose just one of anything I love options. My vanilla latte was so good and the design was so cute, The caffe mocha was bitter and needed to be a bit sweeter, but we should've gotten the dolce and not the italian. The d'lox toast was actually very flavorful and I liked how fulfilling it was. The breakfast burrito lacked some flavor, but the salsa helped to make it better. The pumpkin pancakes look really yummy and beautiful, they were good, but also wasn't very sweet or tasted like pumpkin.. very tasty

Anie L.

Yelp
Went to have breakfast/lunch with my friends and I was so happy with how fast the service was ! The vegan options were small but delicious! I tried their panini, green rose matcha with non-dairy milk and their vegan chocolate cake! The ambiance was nice because they had an indoor and outdoor option. Overall I love Urth and always had gone for their coffee but didn't know they were in South Bay ! Will come again !

Jaz R.

Yelp
Cute cafe right next to storage unit and plaza full of stores, cute outside area with lots of plants, i LOVE the menu ! And the service was awesome. Worth the visit!!

Alan S.

Yelp
Extensive variety of smoothies and juices, with boba option, including divine date with peanut butter, banana, oat milk and cacao. Espresso boba affogato is delicious. Five grilled panini options including vegan grilled portabella with roasted peppers, arugula, grilles artichoke and pesto almond cheese spread. Caprese sandwich and urth salad also excellent.

Derek T.

Yelp
Urth Caffe is consistently good wherever you go, I was surprised to find one out in the South Bay but hey, here we are. It's your standard basic b brunch with typical brunch prices. I kept it simple and got a chicken pesto omelette. It works, it's good. But the beauty of Urth Caffe is its versatility, a lot of options and all of them are pretty decent for what it's worth (well not monetary wise but you know what I mean).

Kati V.

Yelp
10/10 My most favorite cafe to visit that serves the best chicken salad hands down. The Urth chicken salad is one of my favorite salads ever. I've been to all locations: Santa Monica, Melrose, Pasadena, DTLA, Laguna, and I am so happy I have a local location in Hawthorne! Incredible selection of beautiful pastries, mouth-watering menu, fantastic customer service and staff. Anything you order will be delicious, I can say that confidently, and if you aren't satisfied, they will happily assist to make it better.

Valerie Y.

Yelp
We came to Urth because of all the hype surrounding it, and because we wanted a good breakfast before heading out on our cruise! Unfortunately, it didn't really live up to the hype... My friends and I waited around 15-20 minutes for our food to come out, so I was expecting amazing stuff. I was most excited for the Nutella Girella Bun but that was the most disappointing. It didn't have much nutella and was overpowered by the hazelnuts on top (which were not toasted). It was dry and I would not get that again. The other bakery stuff looked good so I should've gotten something else! I also got the Mocha Mint, which was probably my favorite. It was overly sweet, but fortunately I have a sweet tooth. Everyone else at my table said it had too much whipping cream though, and I kind of agree. My actual meal was the Prosciutto Panini. I don't have much to say about it - didn't use the dipping sauce and it was great. The food was alright, I'm just not sure if Urth Caffe was worth the hype or the money. Would be interested in trying a different location sometime to see if the food quality differs.

Becky G.

Yelp
Urth caffe is always amazing! Our favorite dishes is the caramelized oatmeal banana. And their signature latte is to die for!

Ruben A.

Yelp
Delicious tiramisu and jasmine tea! Service was swift even during their weekend rush! With plenty of heaters in their outdoor seating keeping us cozy and warm!

Ellie N.

Yelp
This is a huge location of Urth caffe. Even if you see 30 people on the long line, it actually moves very fast. You stand in line to order, get a number and find a table. Matcha latte: the size is huge. I got a medium and it equals two of normal cup at other places. French toast is good. Again the size is big. Egg Benedict is a disappointment. The potato bed is plain and oily. The salad is a bit too sour and doesn't have any distinguished flavor to it? Overall a very strange combination. Perhaps the regular bread would have been better than the potato.

Kristy F.

Yelp
I usually enjoy Urth caffe, but my first visit here, and everything put a bad taste in my mouth. 1) unclear valet directions. Had no idea if I could park or much it would cost. Ended up parking across the busy street without any crosswalks. Even when I walked up, was still unclear if this was a public place or business corporation spot. Wasn't until I asked a worker who said you can park on the left side for pick-up/to-go orders or the right for dine-in $5. 2) $17 for my burnt and underwhelming small caprese sandwich. Didn't taste good at all. The small side salad was good. $6 for my english tea latte.. starbucks is definitely tastier so I was super disappointed. In the end, I got a stomach ache. Don't recommend this spot based on what I ordered.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Came here at about 8 pm on a Thursday evening. The cafe wasn't crowded at all and there was a lot of seating available on the outside and inside. We ended up sitting on the inside but the outside did have heating lamps. We ordered the individual blueberry cheesecake and coffee. The cheesecake was big enough to share and the coffee of the day came with one free refill. The cheesecake was more dense but not overly sweet and paired perfectly with the coffee.

Salim K.

Yelp
Had to visit Urth cafe before we headed back home and the location at Urth Cafe South Bay happened to be our destination. They do offer valet parking at the location. There was a bit of line, albeit a fast moving one to place your order that is. Once you get in you can grab a menu from the right side and browse through the same before you actually place your order. Scarlet was an amazing host (shoutout to her patience and amazing customer service) who took our orders and answered all the questions that we had very patiently. She followed that up by bringing our coffee out to our table. We ordered a Green Tea Matcha with no Boba (which took a bit to come by) , D'Lox toast (came out pretty good with the exception of the bread being a bit too stiff) , Blueberry Cheesecake and a Grilled Vegetarian Omelette that comes with salad and a couple of bread pieces. The omelette was done to perfection while the D'Lox toast could have had the bread a bit more palatable. However nothing that would not be to our liking and like always, overall its always a great experience at Urth caffe. Till next time!!!

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times for coffee and pastries, and everything has been great! Their croissants are delicious and the cheesecake is so creamy. I think the crust on the cheesecake is too soft though, like they put too much butter in it so it didn't harden well. It can get really busy in morning and parking is really bad here. Parking in their lot is valet only for $5 or you can try to find free parking on the street.

Yelp
I really love their food!! I have only gotten food delivered so I don't know how the restaurant is inside But the food is delicious They have vegan options and healthy options. I would for sure recommend for great food and I hope to go and eat there soon

Yelp
Not them trying to gentrify Hawthorne with the forced paid valet parking lol I know forsure everyone is parking in the best best parking lot nearby. I would probably compare the vibe to Porto's if you have been there before but more of a country cottage feel to it which I loved and I was in awe of the inside architecture beams. Okay now for the good stuff. The pistachio croissant was muah chefs kiss and should've gotten 1 to go. Bread pudding was bland but I think I'm biased bc my family from Hawaii would make homemade bread pudding and it just made me miss theirs. Waffle was really good! it had a nice caramelized glaze with the bananas so I didn't have to put a lot of syrup on it. The omelette needed a little bit of salt but the potatoes were absolutely fire. Matcha latte was ok. The service was ok, they were very busy. I'm not really a fan of the stand in line, then pay and then sit down with the number especially for valet and the price point it should be restaurant style service in my opinion. I will have to come back to try more savory items but I was overall satisfied.

Yelp
First time i got carrot cake it was delicious... Got a slice yesterday. What a disgrace... Awful texture, taste.. i think they had an amateur try to bake.. also had panini el diablo, it was tasting good.. but had like 10g of chicken on the entire sandwich and lots of butter... Regret spending $32 dollars on these 2 items. I think its extremely overpriced for mediocre portions and quality.

Yelp
Freaking LOVE IT! Ever time. Menu amazing, coffee amazing, service amazing and atmosphere the best in town. They don't even need a recommendation

Yelp
Food is 5-stars. Big fan of the salmon eggs benedict. Parking is horrendous! 1-star. Street parking is very limited with most spots taken by local employees. There is a valet service for $5. Valet in a warehouse area? I would come more often if the parking situation was better. There are plenty of good or better breakfast spots nearby with easy parking.

Yelp
first time at urth and it was alright. don't know what i was expecting but the menu was overwhelming and all over the place. i ordered their pumpkin chai and it was pretty good. the inside was big and there's lot of seats. the parking it pretty limited but since it was a week day it was alright. i saw a couple people studying in there but the cafe was so so loud i do not recommended coming here if you're looking to study or to talk with someone. i might consider coming for breakfast time but other than that this place is alright

Yelp
My 10yr old daughter love coming here. We know to expect large crowds, long line, and waiting for our food. This review is based on 1. The ONE HOUR wait for the food. 2. Lack of follow-up from the manager 3. The joke $5 coupons. 9:05AM: So, my daughter and I are happy to see the line is NOT out the door like it normally is. (Iykyk). She orders strawberry & Banana smoothie and berry French toast. I order Matcha w/oat milk and Breakfast Burrito. 9:15AM: We get out drinks. Great! We both have no problem with the time it arrived and loved the taste of both. Perfect! 9:30AM: " Mami, im hungry, when is the food getting here. " I'm sure, any minute now " 9:45AM: I turn to look towards the register and the MANAGER looks at me, acknowledges that order is taking a bit longer than normal, and I didn't even have to say anything. He said "let me run and check on your ticket ma'am". I said "Great, thank you". 10:00AM NOW, I am getting impatient. I never heard back from the manager to provide me an update, or ETA, or hear any accountability or honesty is they forgot to place my order... just nothing. This is the party right here that is frustrating. I'm an understanding person, but when you lack communication with your customers especially when you see they have a kid at the table, is NOT acceptable. 10:15AM: I call for the manager. I explained everything above. He didn't take personal accountability. He blamed the "kitchen manager" and said he is going to have a talk with him. He apologized for not checking in withe but said he was so busy he couldn't get back to me. He said he can offer some coupons and a dessert. I respectfully told him that I would have understood and my experience wouldn't have bbeen frustrating if had he just communicated an update with me so my daughter and I have a realistic ETA instead of just sitting and waiting like some dumb @$$es I thanked him and said, we finally got out food as we were talking, we will eat our food and I'll have my daughter choose her dessert and I'll collect the coupons at that time. I let the manager know we are going to have the dessert there and ready for the coupons when he gets a chance. So, he brings us the Sweet Potato pie and a $FIVE DOLLAR VIP$ COUPON. One. And two Cappuccino coupons that say (cannot exceed $5). What a f*%$$% slap in the face. I paid $57 dollars for our order lol I'm appalled that a business like Urth Caffe even has $5 coupons. They should be $20 coupons and up! *video is of food. Remember, the food was great, the service was trash.

Yelp
I'm glad I went twice before leaving this review! Valet parking?! Annoying. $5 miles to park unless you come after 2pm on a weekday. Luckily, there is a lot of street parking and nearby business parking lots you can utilize! Be prepared to walk but know it's worth it. All the food and ingredients are fresh and plated/packaged well. Because of the quality ingredients, it is a bit over priced but again, worth it. $1 extra for oatmilk when you're used to 50 cents charge made me do a double take but oh well. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot chicken sausage in my panini, it was very heavy on the egg and would have liked something more in the middle. The service is amazing, please tip the staff! They go above and beyond with great speed. The vibes are immaculate. Date night, brunch, study session; come here for all of them!
