The 24 Best Places For Cheap Sushi In LA

"Once upon a time, Culver City was a sushi desert but then Uzumaki came along. The calm, wood-filled space and its $28 set lunch menu feel Sugarfish-ish in all the right ways, and the fish is great quality for the price. Expect a few pieces of nigiri, a cut roll, and a Japanese spin on ceviche with your set menu. But if you're not in the mood for omakase, you can also order a la carte without your check getting out of control. Use it for a small team lunch or casual midweek dinner that doesn’t involve an hour-and-a-half wait." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

Top LA Sushi Omakase for Under $80 | Eater LA

"Boasting some of the lowest-priced sushi omakase menus in LA, the highest tier at this affordable Culver City restaurant runs just $34, including eight pieces of nigiri and eight pieces of cut rolls with a ceviche starter. Nigiri cuts include blue fin, scallop, yellowtail, and salmon, so there’s a lot of value here." - Matthew Kang

18 Best Sushi Restaurants in Los Angeles | Condé Nast Traveler

"At Uzumaki in Culver City, classic nigiri like tuna, halibut, and yellowtail are all perfectly executed, as are  less common options like amberjack and sea bream. The rolls are all made either temaki- or maki-style, and unique combinations like lobster and crunchy shrimp hit the spot. The standout, though, is a shrimp, scallop, and crab roll. You can even get elevated versions of California, Philly , and rainbow rolls—a true mark of the restaurant's unpretentiousness." - Hugh Garvey, Krista Simmons, Maxwell Williams

Google
Fantastic sushi spot with good value. The Uzumaki sets are great - salmon and hamachi were standouts. The toro roll and unagi were worth it as well. Hidden gem would be the fish kaarage - the fish was so soft and flavorful, highly recommend over the chicken one Service is super quick and on point - they're always busing dishes and food came out quickly. Great for when you want something a little nicer but don't want the full Omakase

Google
The food is AMAZING and the staff is extremely nice and helpful! Service comes quick and the food never disappoints. The sushi is well priced too—it’s not too expensive! I got 3 rolls for under $40.

Google
Great place, Amazing food. The ambiance is good not great. This place could be a fine dining experience but it is more of every day great sushi place m. One the best dish quality I have had in Los Angeles. The food is very simple but it’s extremely delicious. This a very difficult task to achieve. No unnecessary flavoring trying hard to make the food taste better. The service was very good , very fast. I love ginger and I hate that I have to continually ask for more. They kept my ginger plate full the whole time. I only wish they would take reservations as hate waiting for my table. I will be returning with my wife and friends for more. The albacore and yellowtail were to die for, Amazing. Over all rating 4.5 5 for sushi / fish 5 for service 4 for ambiance 3 for not taking reservations

Google
Eye poppingly delicious. A class and cut above other sushi establishments. Every dish was simple, fresh, and flavorful. I tild my wife I wanted to tell the owners, "We'll done and they should be proud". The service was sweet, attentive, and informative. Came with the family and the staff was so kind. Loved it so much, we plan on coming back before we leave town.

Google
I’ve been coming to Uzumaki for years and liked it much better when they had a sushi bar. The servers that work there don’t really know what they’re doing. They kept snatching plates from right under my face the second I finished the last piece. It was anxiety-inducing. They would also refill water and green tea and sake without asking even when just a tiny bit was gone from the glass. We spent almost $400 including tip and I would have really appreciated a better dining experience. When I picked up the last piece of my chef’s omakase, the waitress swooped in, grabbed my plate and immediately started asking us what we wanted for dessert. I couldn’t even answer her because I was still chewing. I honestly wish someone would train these servers properly because for these prices, that is simply unacceptable!! The food was good. We loved the oysters especially and even ordered a second round. The salmon was clearly farmed though and not wild-caught (you could tell by the color and thick white stripes). Would have expected better quality for the price. Probably won’t come back anytime soon! For the price, you can find better places.

Google
One of my favorite sushi spots in all of L.A. Incredibly friendly service, fresh fish and a minimalistic yet comfortable environment. Tables are spaced out pretty nicely, they don't pack you in like sardines. Basic menu, kind of in a "Sugar Fish" stlye, but much better and superior service. Thank you Uzumaki!

Russ Lacuata

Google
I’ve been here many time before we got all lockdown. So today I was craving sushi and Uzumaki is my top choice in mind. The food was delicious as always. The quality of the fish is top notch, and the ingredients are top notch. The pickup process was worry free and seamless. Please support your local restaurant industry during the difficult time.

Incredible, fresh sushi. Everything can be made gluten free and they have gluten free soy sauce! They even have gluten free donuts for dessert. Awesome service, reasonable prices.

Yelp
came in around 6:15 on a Friday night. there was plenty of seats open. the place is brightly lit with a small sushi bar at the back of the restaurant. 3 of us ordered 2 12-piece omakase meal and 1 nigiri combo meal. all were really fresh and nicely portioned fish. service was great that they kept coming to check on our drinks for refills. the place filled up and had a short wait around 7:30-8pm when we left. the price is on the high end, but maybe it's the norm in that area?!
google avatar

Yelp
This is NOT two dollar signs of cost. It's three. That being said the sushi is excellent and portions are small. Expect to pay $43 for a course which feels more like an appetizer

Yelp
Cute corner sushi place in Culver with plenty of street parking. Came with a party of 3 on a Saturday night and we got seated immediately. I noticed they seem very diligent in keeping the place tidy and also appreciated that they cover all utensils in a slip. We ordered the following: Crispy rice (3/5) nothing special and not sure if I'd get again Miso soup (4/5) tasted like your standard miso soup but wish it was hotter Fish Karaage (5/5) crispy and so soft on the inside. Best Karaage I've had and I've also never had fish Karaage so was a nice change. Salmon nigiri (5/5) pieces were big and melted in your mouth. Seared salmon (5/5) very flavorful and you can taste the sear. King crab hand roll and salmon skin hand roll (5/5) I would get the crab again and they definitely stuff the hand rolls so it's worth it! The waitress was so friendly and actually surprised us with free matcha ice cream afterwards which was lovely. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Highly recommend adding nigiri pieces - eel, scallop and engawa are lovely. For the Uzumaki set, you can get half/half cut rolls!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Came here with a friend for dinner on a Friday night. There's ample parking on the streets so we had no issue finding or getting to the location. When we walked in, we were greeted by the staff who were very pleasant. We had no issues getting a seat for two. I would described the restaurant as having an intimate chill vibe. We were sat where you could see the food preparation which I throughly enjoyed. We ordered two different rolls. Both were delicious and tasted really fresh. We also ordered the dessert which was so good and I would highly recommend. I will definitely be back here!

Yelp
Incredibly fresh fish at a great price in a nice relaxing ambiance! Came here on a Friday evening for an early dinner and there was no wait, though the place was packed when we left! Service is very attentive, and our waitress was so nice! We both got the uzumaki plus set which came with edamame, ceviche as apps, 8 pieces of nigiri (ranging from tuna, salmon, to halibut and sea bream), and a cut roll (spicy tuna / crunchy shrimp) which was an awesome deal at $43. The nigiri was amazing. Cut rolls were good as part of the deal, but would probs stick with the nigiri next time. Overall a really nice spot for delicious and fresh sushi at reasonable prices!

Yelp
Simply Stellar Sushi and Service This quaint and cozy restaurant offers an exceptional sushi dining experience. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable meal. The true star of the show, however, is the sushi. The rice is cooked to perfection - the right consistency and flavorful enough to stand on its own. The fish is impeccably fresh, well-cut, and seasoned to perfection. But what truly elevates this restaurant is the service. The staff is incredibly attentive and anticipates your needs. Whether you need more water or your next omakase course, they're there before you even ask. Overall, a fantastic dining experience - highly recommend!

Yelp
I ordered the Uzumaki Plus to-go. The preparation time was fast and the sushi is beautiful as a to-go. I loved that the box came with the recommended notes on how to eat it/what sauce to eat it with. Everything tasted fresh and the sushi melts in your mouth. I will definitely come back to dine in, as well as order to-go again!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of trying out Uzumaki. Went for the Crispy Rolls, and they were delicious with some Calamari on the side. Pretty pricey place, but good good sushi that will water your mouth. Nice style Japanese vibe looking place. Nice waiters, and good food. I am a happy man.

Yelp
This is our go to place. Beautiful space. Beautiful food. Reminiscent of Sugarfish. Excellent service

Yelp
Craving sushi after a long trip? Located 15 minutes from the airport, you most definitely want to stop by here. Food: My partner and I got the Uzumaki plus which included edamame, about 8 pieces of nigiri, and then one roll as the last dish. All the fish tasted very fresh, very smooth to the tongue, and balanced the flavors out pretty well. To top it all off, we got the lychee sorbet at the end and it was very tart! Service: This is what makes this spot stand out amongst the rest. Probably the best service out of any other sushi restaurant I've ever been to. Definitely worth the 5 star customer service. Everyone was very attentive, friendly, and on point.

Yelp
I tried numerous sushi restaurants and I think this one is a great place with nice ambiance for a nice date night or family outing. The service was great and the food was very yummy. There isn't much special about this place tho compare to other sushi places in terms of flavor or menu item

Yelp
It's my 2nd time dining at Uzumaki. The first time was just after the pandemic and they were starting to have more done in customers. It was not bad my first visit but the food quality and service definitely improved for my second visit. I enjoyed the fresh raw oysters, Ikura, Santa Barbara uni and also many other fresh sushi dishes. It was a Thursday night around 8pm and the restaurant was almost packed! Really enjoyed the lively dining experience and our waiter was really great. The restaurant has a simple and minimalist design. Overall a solid dining experience and this will be one of our go to Japanese sushi restaurants when we are in a Culver City. Looking forward to going back to try the other dishes!

Yelp
Provender: this is an amazing Japanese sushi restaurant in the Culver City area. I tried the uzumaki and other nigiri. Everything was very well made. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're a sushi lover. Prices: reasonable for sushi prices. Nigiri (2 pcs) will generally run you about $10. Parking: there's a parking structure behind the building. The parking area is connected to the restaurant foyer area. People: fun for all. Perks: very friendly staff, and the food was excellent. The sushi was delicious. It's a nice quaint restaurant with great ambiance.

Yelp
The sushi was just ok, nothing spectacular. I ordered the Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, and Albacore rolls. Ambiance wasn't great either. I probably wouldn't come back. There are a lot better hole in the wall sushi restaurants than this one. The service was ok.

Yelp
Never disappoints!!! Best Sushi ever. Simple and always fresh. Great service as well. The only place we keep going with my wife(she is Japanese )and leaving happy every time. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
This is a super cute and small authentic sushi restaurant. I'm not used to eating authentic sushi--I'm used to Americanized versions. But the server was awesome at explaining the menu and the food was delicious. The portion sizes of the rolls are large so careful when ordering. Also, there are lots of servers who come around often to keep the table clean, which I appreciated! Don't be a sucker--there's a parking lot in the back lol order the shrimp tempura roll because it's fresh and amazing. The miso soup was rich and the crispy shrimp appetizer was very tasty!

Yelp
Lovely spot for sushi and more on Washington Blvd in Culver. The food is overall delicious. The service is mostly fantastic, though as things get busy, some things might get delayed. The kitchen, however, will not delay you. In general, there is an effortlessness in all the staff's work. The ambiance of the corner restaurant is gentle and attractive, however, the noise can be deafening when seated near other people. The Covid screens and panels are mostly still in place. (Maybe sound bounces off of those). While you may be protected from a table that shares a 'wall' with you, sometimes other tables feel a little too close. The individual sushi pieces are superior to those found in combo selections. The salmon, the yellowtail are rich in flavor and texture - pretty much one would hope for. Compare those to the nigiri in the Uzumaki or Uzumaki Plus bundled combo dishes, and those pieces aren't nearly as satisfying. The appetizers (or Tsunsmi): The edamame has been stellar when it's warm and fresh. Recent visits have found it to be one time amazing and once just fine. The chicken (Tori) karaage was wonderful. Moist thigh meat cooked perfectly and coated just right. The baked donut with ice-cream is a nice finish, though it may feel to be lacking because (of course) it's not deep fried. Parking garage attached or street parking is available.

Yelp
I recently went on a date here and would absolutely visit again. The service at this place was amazing. I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've had at a place (not just sushi). They were so friendly, helpful, and organized. It can be awkward on a first date and the servers can sometimes make that worse and this was NOT the case here. The staff were very down to earth especially when we had questions about the menu. The set up of tables were also placed perfectly. We weren't too close to the other tables which can make things weird. Perfect spot for a date, especially a first date. The food was incredible and offered hand cut + roll options. We ordered a few rolls and the price for what we ordered was incredible. Completely affordable while giving off a fancy/trendy vibe.

Yelp
** Best service I've ever received. Came here during a weeknight for dinner. The outside is decorated really nicely, but the interior is a bit underwhelming. No bar seating in this place. I think the restaurant still have some covid things in place such as the staff wearing gloves and masks, utensils come in paper bags, and some of the tables have the glass dividers. The price is pretty decent. Ordered a hot green tea $3, edamame $5.50, crispy rice $10, toro sushi $19, spicy albacore cut sushi $11, spicy yellow tail cut sushi $11.50. Total came out to $66.15 with tax. Not bad for a nice sushi dinner for 2. The service here is great. As soon as you're done with a plate, they come and take it away. They had someone coming by refilling the tea as soon as it reached halfway. It's easy to find someone for help/service. I'd recommend this place for a nice and quick sushi dinner.

Marla S.

Yelp
Delicious and the best thing I ordered came from a recommendation from the server. It was seasonal.

Yelp
Tldr; I, unfortunately, will not be dining here again... Time: 6:30 PM on a Thursday. No wait Service: 10/10 staff is very attentive and sweet. It is nice to see a full Asian staff at a Japanese restaurant. The only reason Im giving this place 2 stars lol. Ambiance: Cute and minimalistic. Love all the wood decor and the table was so cute and had this interesting velvety/ leather texture. Vibes overall 10/10 Price: $32 for uzumaki, $18 for yellowtail collar, $8 spicy salmon handroll. I will say the price point for the quality of food is not on par with one another at all. Food: Uzumaki Ceviche 6/10 very refreshing, included 2 tortilla chips Edamame 4/10 its edamame, wouldve loved to see it mixed in with some garlic or something but it was literally just steamed/ boiled edamame Albacore, salmon, yellowtail, amberjack, and kurodai overall 4/10. Did not look or taste very fresh. Maybe Im just lucky to have had better nigiri in the OC for a better price point but judging the quality, I feel that Hmart even has better salmon lol. I was extremely let down with this place and expected a lot especially with the reviews and the full Asian staff- I thought it would taste authentic and fresh! Crunchy shrimp roll 0/10 this is by far one of the most oddest and weirdest things Ive ever had. When I saw crunchy shrimp, my mind went to it being some tempura shrimp roll, but what came out was a roll with rice and OLDDDD avocado. The topping was this weird crunchy thing with cut up shrimp mixed in?? Honestly tasted like flowers and idk something was off about it. Overall, just tasted so nasty. I tried SOOO hard to eat it because I spent $30 on it. But, I couldn't.. Tips: Dont come, don't bother.. just go to the OC for some actual good and fresh sashimi/nigiri lol

Rl J.

Yelp
The fish is fabulously fresh. I means it's delicious. People in LA have so many options for Japanese food, but where I come from in New Orleans we don't have much and I am so grateful to find a clean simple grade A place near my motel.. . The portions are the right size and have not been supersized for American waistlines. The interior is smallish, simple but pleasant. The staff are friendly and the food comes quickly. Since my old fav place next to Trader Joe's apparently closed.. this is my new favorite place in LA..

Yelp
Came here with the boo for a casual date night, and it was a lovely time. We live in the Westside and usually go to Hide Sushi, which is good too, except so crowded during the weekends and during those times, they run out of Uni and Toro. We decided to give this place a shot! There was hardly a line when we walked in Saturday night, and we maybe waited 5 minutes before we got seated. We ordered the following: Uni Toro Yellowtail Chicken Karaage Shishito peppers Miso soup Spicy salmon handroll Baked scallop handroll Tekka tuna handroll Spicy yellowtail handroll Chocolate donut with matcha ice cream After we put in the order, we ended up chatting with the older couple at the table next to us lol. They were on their way out, but were telling us about how the Uni and Toro were so good. The uni is apparently from Santa Barbara. Overall, it was good vibes. They left when the food arrived. Everything came out quickly and soo fresh! The uni and toro were just melt-in-your-mouth so good, and the spicy salmon handroll was awesome. My fiance was having a blast eating the rest of the dishes, and he was basically saying that this restaurant is officially our new go-to spot lol. We were worried that the pieces weren't going to be as big as Hide's, and they weren't, but they were pretty comparable. My least favorite dishes were the baked scallop handroll (tasted bland to me). The chicken karaage came out piping hot, lightly seasoned, and each of the pieces was hyuge. The dessert was just the perfect end to a nice and satisfying dinner. After we paid the (very reasonable) bill, I followed that older couple next to us on Instagram, so made some new friends too lol.

Yelp
Lets keep yelp real!!! Lets put price aside its sushi on the westside, its going to cost $. I really enjoyed our experience; the interior was nice and clean, service was attentive, and most important food was really really fresh and tasty. I appreciate the simple menu. We had the tempura, unagi & salmon belly nigiri, rainbow & king crab roll; all very well done. Will return and would recommend.

Yelp
Super cute place. Lighting is a little bright for my taste, but there are few spots in the booths that feel a bit darker. This place does not take reservations, but there was no wait. However they would not seat us until entire party was there, so we were told to wait outside. It was pretty cold, but there are chairs and heaters to make it more comfortable. The food is delicious. We got yellowtail sashimi, seam bream nigori, popcorn shrimp, crispy rice, Baked crab hand roll. Service was awesome. When we went ordered nigori,(2 pieces) the waitress asked if we would like to make it 3 pieces as there were 3 people in our party. I thought this was a nice touch, because everyone got to try it with out us having to order an additional nigori. Some street parking, also a Free parking lot on Tilden ave.

Yelp
Sugar fish, who?! We've been discussing finding a "go-to-sushi spot" in Culver for awhile and just hadn't found the right place, until tonight. The food is here is so fresh - quality is not compromised and neither is service. Sam was our primary server tonight. He was very welcoming, quick with service, and guided us through our sushi experience. Honestly, soy sauce really isn't needed with your sushi or nigiri here - they've carefully crafted a culinary experience that blows your mind, satisfies your taste buds, and fulfills your sushi cravings. A must try- over and over again! We can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Juo-Chin Y.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday with their Omakase and it was great! Total 17 nigiri, miso soup and ice cream for only $100! What a bargain! I think it's definitely one of the best Omakase deals in LA with that great quality of fish. The only down side is they did not offer bar seating so we cannot watch the sushi chef make the sushi. It would be nicer if we could sit at the bar. Other than that, no complain at all! Service was great too, they try to explain every nigiri when they served them. Plus they have free parking at the back! I am definitely coming back for their sushi.

Yelp
This spot has a Sugarfish format, where you can choose from 3 different tiers of a fixed menu, based on how hungry, how much food you want to eat. But there's also a an assortment of starters, sashimi, nigiri, hand or cut rolls, etc. I stopped by in with a friend at 7pm tonight, the wait was about 15 to 20 minutes. (Resis aren't allowed) Once you're seated though, the service is really quick. The Arnold Palmer was delicious, I love a good house made lemonade. I have a shrimp allergy, so they were totally fine with making any of the rolls without. Between two people we shared: 1) spicy tuna on crispy rice- only 4 PCs to an order but good ratio to tuna and crispy rice 2) rainbow roll without shrimp- I liked it but probably the most bland of our options 3) baked crab roll- warm, savory, semi sweet, would def recommend 4) scallop and crab- subtle sweetness from scallops, could use more crab, but the flavor is pretty good I also had two pieces of yellowtail nigiri at the end which was really fresh, it made me wish we had ordered more nigiri than rolls. It's a smallish restaurant, but there's definitely enough room between each table. The ambience was clean and modern, higher end of fast casual. Is fast sit down a term? For a little over $80 for 2 people, this is really reasonable in price and quality wasn't compromised. The service was really good. All the workers are really on top of things, the food came out really quick. This is the place where you're kind of in and out, they'll bring you the bill shortly after you're done, so not really a place where you can hang out and mingle to catch up. But they're pretty busy, so I completely understand. I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Franky Z.

Yelp
Food is fresh and high quality. Service is also very tentative and thoughtful. The food portion for the sashimi is not that much though compared to the price, but other than that, it's a great sushi place!

Yelp
Delicious. Order the Uzumaki Plus lunch special with the Crispy Shrimp Roll. It's $39 (maybe little pricy for lunch) but it was all excellent and all delicious.

Yelp
First look at this sushi joint and i was pretty impressed. Sushi was super fresh. Got the uzumaki plus, good variety. Amazing service. Fast and staff was attentive and explained to me everything I ordered. Will come back to try more of the rolls. Just be aware the ambience is a little noisy and it gets busy in peak hours but service is quick nonetheless
google avatar

Naomi G.

Yelp
Good spot for a quick sushi dinner. Sushi was fresh and came out quickly. I really enjoyed that the nigiri already had some sort of sauce on it which made it a nice bite without needing to add soy sauce to it. Would definitely go back for time!

Yelp
Very Delicious we some odd things which were recommended and the regular yellow fin and tuna

Alex B.

Yelp
We went for the omakase. Overall a lot of the sushi was decent. But a few pieces were really bad. They gave us toro, but it was seared and drenched in sauce. And there was an uni piece topped with caviar that two people literally spit out because it was so bad. Also, the server spilled a sake cup while putting a plate down. He brought napkins but didn't offer any replacement or even say anything after. They tried to be too fancy with the sushi and overall didn't just let the fish shine. Had high hopes for this one but won't be going back.

Sammy P.

Yelp
My new favorite Sushi spot. The whole family love it. We usually go to another, very well known sushi place with a fixed menu and Uzumaki is better, frankly.

Yelp
Alright, let's talk about this sushi joint. It's like a professional ninja--straightforward and no-nonsense. The sushi here doesn't do backflips or breakdance on your taste buds, but it's good quality stuff. Now, the rice recipe... well, let's just say it could use a little seasoning pep talk. As for the service, it's pretty decent. No somersaulting waiters or magic tricks, but they get the job done. Now, let's address the elephant in the parking lot. The parking situation is like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. I mean, seriously, they should offer a Ph.D. in parking just to find a spot. And don't get me started on Apple Maps not providing their phone number. It's like they're playing hide-and-seek with your hunger! The Yelp pricing scale gave them two dollar signs, but let me tell you, it's more like playing Monopoly with real money. So, unless you're ready to mortgage your house, be prepared to splurge a bit. Overall, I have to deduct a star for the parking puzzle that even Sherlock Holmes couldn't solve. And another star goes bye-bye because the sushi lacks the excitement of a roller coaster ride--no custom orders or mind-blowing creations, just what's on the menu. So, if you're looking for a straightforward sushi experience without the frills and spills, and you happen to have a parking map and a small fortune, give this place a shot. Just don't forget your detective hat and a wad of cash!

Yelp
We got the Valentine's Day Omakase. Some of the fish from the omakase set melts in your mouth. The whole set was very delicious and filling. Service was amazing and very accommodating. This is in a small restaurant and we were sat at a two person table but felt really close to the people next to us.

Yelp
Holy.. this place is so great. The food is AMAZING. Service? AMAZING. Ambiance? Interesting. We got the uzumaki plus, an oyster shot, the shrimp scallop crab roll, and for dessert the brown sugar donut with vanilla ice cream. All were fresh, great temperature fish, perfect sizes. The rolls were the perfect mouthful and they gave plenty of fish on top. The sushi was so flavorful and fresh that we didn't use soy sauce at all on them and it was still so delicious. The brown sugar donut.. amazing.. no words. Service was so efficient and the servers' time management skills are insane. They never seem to miss a beat! One of the servers was kind enough to approach me while I was waiting for my table to let me know there's a heated waiting space on the side since I looked cold. Ambiance felt interesting because we were placed in between two tables with clear dividers to separate us haha but we didn't mind. There are tables with curtains however which probably offered more privacy. I WILL come back here! Please check it out once!

Yelp
We tried Uzumaki two days ago after driving by it for nearly a year! We went for dinner without a reservation at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday night. Though it looks SO quiet on the outside, inside was bustling with customers which was a great sign. It is a bit loud with the number of customers, but we were able to enjoy our conversation without yelling. We were seated immediately, and our orders were taken shortly thereafter. I cannot tell you how amazing the service here is. The minute you finish a plate, a serger takes it away. The minute you need more water, a server is there. Never hovering, and never interrupting our conversation, just amazing service. The sushi is great. Sugarfish had been our go too sushi spot but Uzumaki is an AMAZING alternative. Their omakase comes with edamame, a sashimi dish with chips (they call it ceviche there) that comes with a deliciously tangy sauce, five pieces of incredible fish and an 8 piece cut roll of either crunchy shrimp or spicy tuna. Three of the five pieces of fish come with their own sauce-- each sauce was delicious-- and two fish go with the soy sauce. The fish was VERY fresh and perfectly prepared. My favorite was the tuna which was out of this world. The spicy tuna cut roll was okay but the crunchy shrimp cut roll is surprisingly amazing! There is a parking lot around the side of the restaurant. It looks like parking for an apartment building but there is a sign directing you to Uzumaki-- the parking is free!! Score!! Overall, if you are looking for an extremely reasonably priced omakase and sushi experience, this place is a great spot to try!

Yelp
Menu is clear with classic sushi sets and a la carte ordering. The inside is nice and modern but small so not the best spot for very large groups. Service was nice and fast. Sushi was fresh and delicious!

Yelp
So good and so fresh Incredible deal with the Uzumaki Plus. It's a ton of food I added an order of uni & was STUFFED Fast, efficient & kind service They don't take reservations but they answer their phone and will tell you how many free tables they have so you can pop over Free parking behind the building with a back entrance directly into the restaurant I highly recommend & will be back

Yelp
What an amazing restaurant, with such great food and service. The Omakase experience is well worth the money and such a fantastic way to get introduced to the entire staff. We were lucky enough to get the king crab and redfin nigiri which was such a delight. Just make sure to be ready to wait as the line can be a bit long :)

Yelp
This review is specifically for a server named Sam. Unfortunately he was extremely rude to our table when he initially served me and my friend our drinks. When my friend asked him a question he stuck his face a few inches in between me and my friend for a good 10 seconds with a ton of attitude and dismissed our question and walked away. It was very creepy and the entire dinner after that was extremely uncomfortable. The uni we ordered didn't not all taste entirely fresh as there was a bad taste on the bottom. The rest of the sushi was good but for the price there are much better places nearby.

Yelp
Food was excellent, service was spectacular! We arrived at 715pm and waited maybe 10 minutes. We were able to drink beers while we waited, awesome. Then when we sat down and were immediately greeted with menus and water. We both ordered the Uzumaki meal which was a prefix assortment of fish (similar to the SF trust me). The fish was fresh, tasty, and melt in your mouth. Loved the crunchy shrimp roll. Throughly impressed with this spot, we will definitely come back.

Yelp
I found this place when exploring Culver City and I'm so glad I did. This is hands down my favorite sushi place. The service is top tier. The nigiris are thick cut and they melt in your mouth. It is a beautiful experience to dine here. I would highly recommend this.

Yelp
Will 100% come again!!!! The price? The service? The food? All amazing!! First, the price. For the amount of food that you get and the quality of the fish, you can't beat it!! Second, the service. They have outdoor and indoor dining. A few outdoor seating (4 tables - 2 seats each) and tons of indoor seating. We came at around at around 8:40PM at a Friday and there were two parties in front of us. They have a few seating spots outside for when you're waiting to eat. We were seated in around 20 minutes. The outdoor seating area is really cute. You're separated by the sidewalk with a curtain and they have lights with heating (though this wasn't turned on when we came since it summer). Also, all the servers were SOOO nice, many of whom were actually Japanese (if you're a Japanese customer then you can likely speak with them). Finally, the food. Amazing!!! We definitely recommend the Uzumaki plus if you're looking for Omakase style. Everything was delicious. All the fish was fresh and tasty. We also ordered seared salmon, unagi, and toro a la carte (forgot to take a photo of toro). Seared salmon was okay. The fish slice wasn't too thick so it tasted pretty seared (and not too much of actually salmon). The unagi was amazing!! Thick and hot and saucy. The only bad experience here was the toro. We didn't take a pic and were slightly shocked (had to ask twice if it was actually toro). It was a thick cut but was def not toro in our eyes. It looks exactly like the tuna from the omakase (bright red - not fat and not pink). I think they made a mistake. MP was $13 and not worth. Other than this though, it was def worth it!!!!!
