The Most Underrated Restaurants in the Seattle Area

"This University District gem is wedged unassumingly between a Korean joint and a Taiwanese spot a ways away from the bustle of the Ave, which is perhaps why it doesn’t get much love outside of a dedicated contingent of lunchtime regulars. The combo plates are the way to go, here, allowing you to sample a spread of Salvadorian morsels like the signature pupusas, fried yuca, or savory pastelitos, a golden pocket of pastry similar to an empanada. You get to choose your own blend of fillings for the pupusas, and the glorious options range from pork and refried beans to traditional nopales and loroca, a South American herb with a distinctive woody, vegetal flavor reminiscent of asparagus or spinach. All the combo plates come with an expertly-executed side of beans and rice and a bracingly hot, vinegary salsa." - Eater Staff

7 Great Tortas In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Your order: Super Torta with al pastor How many times has a sandwich made you pause and think, “how in the good Lord’s name do I eat this thing?” This is the question that all great sandwiches make us ask ourselves, and the “Super Torta” from the El Taco Loco truck in Ballard has us wondering exactly that. It measures half the length of our arm (we have a long wingspan) and comes on a griddled roll stuffed with juicy al pastor, lettuce, jalapeños, and a mix of spicy salsa and mayo that create a delicious hybrid sauce. Sure, this torta costs $11, but can probably feed you for three meals." - Carlo Mantuano

Best pupusas in town. Just like in El Salvador. Service was amazing, it's a food truck so not the best atmosphere i really hope they get to have an actual restaurant soon. They deserve it as the service was nice and the food extremely good.

The carnitas where the overall winner today.. the asada wasnt bad but not very impressive, typically al pastor/ adobada is ussualy my favorite but the flavor here didn't agree with me

I’ve tried over 30 tacos places around Seattle and this remains my number one. Simple, affordable, delicious. The service is friendly as well. Perfect place honestly, bug menu too. Cant wait till I go back.

I love eating here. I am a huge fan of papusas and these are as authentic as you can get. They are delicious. The service is speedy and the people running it are really nice. Highly recommend! I often order my meal and then take my dog for a walk around the block, it's ready by the time I get back :)

Dishonest proprietor - doesn't post prices When I walked up the guy in the truck greeted me. When I asked why there were no prices posted, as if my magic they suddenly became closed with the bogus claim that he was cleaning, which was an obvious lie. I imagine he doesn't post prices so he can charge you whatever he feels like. Totally dishonest. I left hungry and angry. If this is how they handle your money I shudder to think of how they handle your food.

WOW! Some really great food truck Mexican food! Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. The beef cheek and steak tacos were delicious and the wet burrito will definitely fill you up. They have all the meats including beef tongue.

Always fantastic. They used to be up on 80th. I love the newer larger truck. I love the food. And as a Salvadoran I can say I approve of the Pupusas wholeheartedly! Enjoy!

I don’t usually do reviews but this is hands down the best Mexican food in Seattle. Great Burritos and Yuccas
