One of my favorite place to get Craft beer !!! They got really big selections of amazing craft beer from all over the states.some of these beer are hard to find.

I’m SHOCKED at any of the bad reviews here. This place is a local GEM. I don’t come here too often as I don’t drink very much but every single time I have a great experience. The staff is so nice and always make me feel welcome. Carlos is such a friendly guy and I’m always happy that he remembers me and my boyfriend when we come in. Days gone are the times when local business made customers feel like family, but not here. This store has the kind of community respect that one can only find in Midwest small towns, and I love it for that. Incredible beer, seltzer, kombucha, mead, tequila etc. selection. I love that I can buy single cans so I can try new things!! I could spend hours looking through all the options here, there’s so much to choose from. It’s never a quick stop for me because of that. Nondescript on the outside, a treasure trove on the inside! “Valley Bev” has lifelong loyalty from me.

This place is THE HOLY GRAIL for serious craft beer. The selection is nothing short of AMAZING and the people working there are friendly and knowledgeable on ALL styles of beer. If you like sour beer and stouts (my two favorite styles) this place is a must!!! Remember good beer isn't cheap but you'll find ABSOLUTE GEMS in this store that you won't find anywhere else!!!

Kinda known about this place for a while now, but really never wondered around long enough to see what exactly they had to offer. Well folks, they've got an incredible selection of fine beers. I was so impressed with how many different types of beer from so many fantastic breweries and not super over priced as you'd expect. Of course, when you enter, expect to spend some cash, as you'll most definitely find something you'll like. Check them out if you're in the neighborhood. Carmen, Friedy, Andrena approved!

This is the best liquor store Sherman oaks. The guys here are super chill and know their beer. They have tons of very unique beverage selections I've never seen anywhere else. I've bought a lot of unique craft beers from here and always come in to check for something new. I definitely recommend this place for beer lovers!

Check them out tons of good whiskey, scotch, Tequila, wine etc. They also had this new liqueur I was looking for.

Such a great place to choose a nice liquor or wine bottle for the weekend. They have great selection of whiskey and tequila. On the back in the fridge they have a European beer selection, highly recommended. The people who work at the store always nice and friendly and helpful when you need some suggestions.

Excellent selection of beer and spirits from all over the world. The place at first appears sketchy but these folks know how to take care of customers. Always helpful and knowledgeable about special orders and unique likes and dislikes. 25 years of great product, service and they always have a surprise when I am shopping. Been introduced to some of the best whiskey and bourbon from across the globe, right here in Sherman Oaks!

Valley bev has a great supply! They carry some great tasting booze. Try the Dirty Sanchez for a smooth tasting tequila! Delicious!

This place has a good selection and the guys can be fun to interact with sometimes. I hadn't been by in a while and the beer aisle coolers have only gotten worse, beer is barely above room temp and a good bit of the inventory is beyond the best by dates.

Never expected a typical looking liquor store to basically be a microbrewery. I could never count how many types of craft beer are in this place! It is incredibly unassuming. If you're looking to impress with some amazing and unique craft beers this is your spot. They also sell other alcohols but it's impossible to not explore all the beer. The staff was incredibly kind and were consistently adding and replenishing the offerings. Glad to have found the valley beer spot!

They need to update their hours. They close at 11:00, not 12:00. It seems decent on the inside but I pulled into their lot and the guy working the register just made a hand gesture saying they were closed. Lame.

VBC aka Valley Beverage Company is a long standing beverage enthusiast must whether a partaker of alcoholic beverages or non... They've got you covered in their little big house of spirits, craft, domestic and imported brews, wine upon wine and more. Rocking out on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks across from the remodeled Pavilions off Kester Avenue... Valley Bev Co has a fair amount of parking in their lot as well as street... Easy access exit and entrance... Even more so from from local residents on foot and local transit. I was on a mission to find "the green fairy" aka Mr. Wormwood aka Absinthe and they had exactly what I needed - Absente Absinthe in a box with a spoon! I've been looking for a new spoon FOREVER (insert Sandlot movie scene here)... So it was meant to be!! The gentleman who greeted me and rang me up was beyond friendly and personable... The vibe is very beverage enthusiast meets modern dive. Craft beer is 100% their specialty and possible what is bought more frequently here as the prices range in competitive to high, which is normal for a local small business I'm happy to support. I'll be back again soon to stock up for small summer gatherings and what not and of course my personal collections. You can request items they don't currently carry via their website which is pretty impressive as well.

Love getting my craft beers from Valley Beverage! They're open long hours and can be found on Ventura in Sherman Oaks. They always have ample parking available in their lot. There are so many options here, but the team is also super helpful if you have any questions or want recommendations. I'm always in and out of here within 10 minutes. Super easy and convenient experience every time.

One of the main entrance was chained up, it looked like they are close, but there is another entrance on the opposite side. I read about them online and after visiting their website, decided to drive up and get a bottle of Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish listed on their website for $129.99 + Tax, when I asked for it, the guy said, he is holding 7 bottles for some guy, 7 BOTTLES at that special discounted price and he continued to say, he is waiting for the person to show and make sure it is not a fraudulent transaction, surprising, not selling a bottle, to make sure the 7 bottles order is legit! Asked me to leave my number my number and he will call me in 1 or 2 day If the bottles are not sold. Since I was there, thought I should get a different bottle. Toward the back on the higher shelf in their bourbon aisle, found few Michter's 10 yr Rye, and when I asked the price he gave me a different number than what was listed. At that point it was apparent there is something shaddy. Don't waste you time, on their website and if you are planning to visit call ahead, but than the same guy may be picking up 7 bottles of what you want to purchase. I am welling to pay premium, and every now and than get a special deal that is advertised, but will pass on dealing with dishonest characters and deceitful practices.

If I could give this place a zero I would. I stopped by to get a case of Happy Dad seltzer for my sister's baby shower, and a horribly rude man at the register refused to sell it to me...I'm 26. And I had a valid California ID...but he refused to sell it to me and very aggressively asked me to leave. I was treated like a criminal. I don't know if it had anything to do with the Jewish star around my neck, or maybe because I'm a girl, but I've never felt so disrespected in my life. Please do not support this business or the people that work in such a terrible establishment. I am both shocked and saddened that this is the quality of service we have in California.

Very rude people, The salesperson is a liar,and I want to believe that he refused to sale me beer not because of racist reasons, I'm over 50 years of age ,and was refused to buy case of beer , I want to BevMo and had no issue,

Nice selection but beware stale beer! I expect stale beer in a local corner store, but not in a place that considers itself to be a specialty beer store. I dropped by this week and didn't bother to check the can dates. Unbeknownst to me, I bought a six pack of Bells Oberon that was ten months old from March 21 and a Smog city Pilsner that was six months old from July 21. Both beers had skunked pretty good.

*PARKING: They have a lot with a decent number of spots and an easy alleyway exit. Simple and such a relief to not have to stress over parking in LA. If you like craft beer, drop everything you're doing and RUN HERE. This place is a craft beer utopia. Here is why they are amazing and deserve your money: 1) They have an incredible selection of hard-to-find craft beers. Cans and bottles. 2) Most of the beers are sold individually. They give you plastic caps at the counter to connect the cans. 3) Each beer is labeled with a clear price. This was such an important element for me. I hate having to ask for prices and it makes the selection process so much easier. The majority of beers that I encountered were priced between 3.99 and 6.99. The price labels were really important for me since I did have a budget. 4) They have tons of other stuff. Hard kombucha, hard seltzer, wine, liquor. I was focused on beer and didn't even have time to delve into the other offerings. 5) The service was really helpful and friendly. 6) As mentioned earlier, easy parking in their lot. So far, this is my favorite spot for craft beer in all of LA.

The beer selection here is no joke. I went to Valley Beverage Company to get some gifts for co-workers (because I am the best) and they did not disappoint. So many beets to choose from. They guys working were helpful in making recommendations. I'll be going here from now on.

I called the store looking for a Aquavit, Scandinavian aperitif I had never hear of that was requested for a friends party. Not only did they have it but it was a really good price. When I came to pick it up was when I made some great discoveries. They have an enormous scotch section. It's basically a huge side of the store they keep adding to. I recently sent my husband here and he was totally in his happy place. Lots of great wines at good prices and a refrigerated section for white, rose and of course beer. I bought a gin from a small family distributor that is excellent (Ford's Gin) as well as several bottles of wine, some beer and a marvelous Japanese whisky. The service was excellent both on the phone and in person. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very happy to answer questions and offer assistance. I found their price points to be very fair and reasonable. Easy parking too.

The staff here is truly AMAZING. My girls and I came down for my sisters bachelorette party and we kicked it next door at Hamptons 818 while we waited for our Airbnb to be ready. Of course, we had to stock up on liquor for the weekend and I'm so glad we found Valley Beverage Company. Not only was the staff friendly as hell, but they made some amazing wine and champagne selections.

Horrific service!! The guys behind the counter were polite until they found out I am Jewish. At that point they refused to sell me anything (despite having a valid california ID). They proceeded to yell at me and demanded that I leave the store. They had an anger in their eyes that confused and scared me so I left. Please do not support such a racist and threatening store.

I visited this store today and I felt very unwelcomed. I had noticed that one of their cashiers (a Spanish guy) was following me in the store and I felt super uncomfortable. Not to mention when i went to purchase my items nobody in the store spoke to me, I had to say hello 1st and the almost bald white guy that works there looks like he's on drugs. Over all I'm just rating them on customer service which was horrible. If you're black, this store is VERY GHETTO! Wouldn't recommend.

The ONLY place to go in the Valley for Beer. Period. They. Have. It. All. I've never seen so many different breweries, types, and sizes of beer. My absolute favorite part is the fact they break apart most 4-packs and sell almost all of their beers individually. This is such a genius idea and I don't understand why more places don't do this. I was able to pick a large assort of different beers to try out before buying a 4-pack of what I loved the most. (Even though EVERYTHING is always good). Also an awesome job when they throw a 4-pack can carrier on your assortment to keep everything neat and secure. They also have a great assortment and variety of bourbons and whiskeys including hard to find stuff at reasonable prices. Bottom line... Go Here See Tobin Enjoy! Repeat!

Had an interesting experience here with my son. This store has a huge variety of drinks. My son got a beer and some energy drinks and placed them on the counter. He forgot his ID and I told the guy I would pay for it. He told me I had to leave the one he got on the counter and go get another one because he could loose his liquor license. What! Anyway I grabbed another one. This tainted my wanting to go back to this store. I told my son to not return.

Pretty fantastic selection but prices are absolutely insane. Easily 30-40% over an expected markup. Place also smells like a grandma's closet. They could spend some time cleaning, dusting and organizing.

Over priced it's cool spot but would not come back here again not very helpful and horrible customer service

This place is awesome I shop here 2x a week. The owners are nice and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that the store is dirty and dusty. It's nice to pick up clean bottles! They have everything you need and more!

Don't get me wrong they have a lot of hard to find liquor. Impossible to find Japanese Whiskey, bourbon and some solid craft beer. But you're going to pay. Do your homework before you go or you are going to waaaayyyyy over pay. The place reeks of stale cigarettes. Nothing like overpaying for a bottle and having it smell like cig smoke. Most of the place is a disorganized mess. It wasn't always like this, years ago the prices were fair, the place was organized and it didn't smell like an old ashtray.

Great spot for craft beer Bros but beware, if you're looking for hops make sure you check the "canned on" date. This place doesn't seem to sell through everything and therefore some normally very good DIPAs can end up tasting like garbage because they've been on the shelf for far too long. Anything over two months past the canning date and you're in for disappointment. Aside from that, they definitely keep up with what is hyped. A few years ago, it was wall to wall hops. Now it's wall to wall packed with fruited sours. I'd say it's worth your time to swing through and grab some cans.

Now this is a liquor store!!!! While BevMo and cost plus and wondeful options, this place is a great find for craft beer lovers. It is located right on the corner, so you cant miss it. They have all kinds of craft beers and the employees are great about recommendations, so have at it. There was also the yelp check in offer, so i scored myself a free shot glass. I dont think ill be here for any wine even though they have a cool wine cellar, but for beer...the selection is great and the prices are reasonable...so yea this is the place to go!

Best place for craft beer and liquor in the Valley. Parking lot parking available too- which is huge for this area. They have single cans galore, sixers and mixer sixers available too. Must stop spot for craft beer.

VBC is convenient, BUT you need to keep an eye on them. Make sure that you check the date on the beer, and if you can't find the date (suspicious), then don't buy it. Lately, I have had more expired or fermented beers than usual. I want to blame it on the Corona and tough times... I hope that they read this review and fix what CAN be fixed easily enough.

I really like this place because the sales person / manager person was not afraid of recommending something that he liked when my friend and I asked for a good bottle of bourbon. This is important for me because most of the time, these sales people will hesitate and give you all these options. When I would much rather prefer someone making a choice for me because he already knows whats good. You know what I mean? specially for someone who doesn't know anything about bourbon. I appreciate that kind of conviction! so good job!

Our go to neighborhood liquor store. The guys here are always super helpful! Great selection, fair prices, can't really ask for more. My one and only complaint is they don't have fresh lemons and limes, sugar cubes or a large variety of Bitters. As a bartender, these items are staples for many basic cocktails and I would love to not have to go to a 2nd store. Also a great selection of sour beers and wines which makes me a very happy girl. Side note... their check in deal is out dated (as far as rocks or a shot glass goes) but the guy still honored the check in and gave us a pair of stemmed Belvedere glasses. So nice :)

Amazing - attentive but let me roam the store and spend a significant amount of time examining the fantastic selection. My three year old was napping in my arms. They let me leave my choices on the counter and helped me carry my beer out to the car.

I've been stopping by this place to get craft beer for just a few months. Their selection is decent though I always try to check the dates on the can. Sometimes I see something that's over a year old. The staff there are not very friendly. Don't smile, don't say hi, are always just on the phone talking to friends so you feel uncomfortable trying to ask a question, almost seem annoyed by a customer's presence in general.

This place is awesome. Staff gives the best advice on their products. The beer recommendations I got today from one of the fellas there today was amazing. He recommended the cali combo plate no. 6. What an amazing beer. Had a great conversation about tequila and scotch with the other fella that worked there. Solid fucking spot. Must go to this spot!!!!!

I am born and raised in the neighborhood and unfortunately gave these jerks too much money throughout the years. They are rude, they yell, they curse, and they do not deserve your time or patronage. good liquor stores are a dime a dozen in this town

Agreed that there are lots of beers and wines to chose from, but the place has gone downhill in the past year or two. We come 2-3 times a year to look for specialty beers, mostly IPAs. Today, and the last time we were here, the young guy working at the register, is generally unhelpful and a bit surly. Like he's too cool to be friendly. Today we noticed the place seems a bit more run down that it has been (broken beer bottles on the floor and leaky coolers). There was literally no organization to the beers on the shelf. The coolers are a little better, but they still had a couple things in numerous places, like the Modern Times and the Pliny. Also, what's up with 1 limit on Pliny? Most places are at least two... don't think we'll be coming back.

I just had to stop by and write a review for this absolute gem of a liquor store. I'm so glad I went in one day on a whim to see if they had a better selection than the grocery store. Boy was that the case! This place has such a wide selection of beer, seltzer's, specialty cocktails, kombucha and they have plenty of singles so you can mix and match and try new stuff. The staff is super helpful and always helps me find what's new and interesting. They make great recommendations. If you're shopping for booze anywhere else, you're missing out!

Haven't been here in a while but they literally have everything you need here. You will not come here and leave empty handed. The people that work here do a good job talking to you and answer anything you may ask.

What happened to this place? Used to be cool. Now it seems grimy, rundown and unwelcoming. Definitely cross of the list.

Best place for beer in the Valley. Never had any trouble with staff and the guy that checked me out gave me great tips for storing one of the beers I bought.

Hands down the best damn liquor store in the valley. Can't say anything more. They still got the best selection of beer craft beer in town. Stuff that you cant get at Bevmo... Oh when you check in on Yelp you will receive a free shot glass.

My favorite liquor store! Great staff always helpful and give you great recommendations. Awesome variety of stouts, hazy's,ipa's, from plenty of breweries that you would typically have to go to directly to purchase.

I'm not an alcoholic. Really. And I would have never thought I would review a liquor store; but the time has time. Valley Beverage Co may seem like a ghetto liquor establishment with a half-burnt out neon sign but it's far less unassuming than you would realize. The selection of imported and micro-brewed ales, imported wines, and non-alcoholic juices and sodas are unmatched. Moreover, the staff consists of computer-nerd males that look like they play Dungeon & Dragons. Normally, that would be a turn-off, but these guys are so cheerful, informative, and complimentary; that they may be the coolest RPG guys in Sherman Oaks. If you live in Sherman Oaks vicinity, Valley Beverage Co is the place to go! (I did not mean to rhyme there).

3 because it has good reviews but 3 because they say they close at 1am but actually close at 12:50am. I know it sucks when people walk in last minute but it IS a business. Oh well, I MIGHT try to catch it again. I admit, I was really grumpy that evening. This place is bomb!

So glad I read about this place in an article online. I've been looking for a lot of beers to taste and write about in my beer journal I was so glad when I found about this place. It meant that I wasn't going to keep seeing the same beers over and over again at Total wine and Bevmo. Sam is a great guy. He's knowledgeable and was even to point out some Pliny the Elder I had somehow missed. All I can say is make sure you look around so you can see all the beers tucked away in the tiny corners of the store. There's so much to choose from and at first, I felt a little overwhelmed at the beers they had. But definitely take your time to look and ask around for what they recommend. You won't be disappointed =)

Easily the best beer selection in the valley. They are always stocking fresh cans from all over the world. I've basically never looked through the rest of the alcohol selection because the cans and bottles of beer they get in have so much variety. They have beers that seems to be constantly in stock and a variety of beers that are rotated in depending on season, availability, etc. The staff is great and always have a lot of info and recommendations.

This place is irreplaceable, the staff is really nice and chill. I always come here and they are just so understanding. If your having a tough day go to this place! They will hook it up, especially if your a regular. They also have great wine and batches of beer that you wouldn't be able to get anywhere else.
