"Chef Stephanie Izard opened a Palo Alto outpost inside the Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley on Monday, March 31 as the latest of her 'Goat' restaurants; the menu includes pork shanks and wood-fired whole branzino as well as lighter fare such as crispy quinoa and a tuna poke salad." - Dianne de Guzman

Chicago Celeb Chef Stephanie Izard Enters the Bay Area Restaurant Scene With Valley Goat | Eater SF

"Award-winning chef Stephanie Izard opens her first Bay Area restaurant with a launch in Sunnyvale on Monday, March 31; it serves as the star restaurant for Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley and is an addition to Izard’s growing list of “Goat” restaurants, including Girl & the Goat and Cabra (both with locations in Chicago and Los Angeles), plus Little Goat Diner and Duck Duck Goat in Chicago. The menu zigzags across different types of cuisines and utilizes locally grown produce for a mix of dishes filled with "bold, globally inspired flavors," per a press release. Fans of Izard’s restaurants may spy familiar dishes such as goat- and veggie-stuffed empanadas with a "limey" dressing with huacatay, a Peruvian herb, or the sticky pork shank. New creations continue her focus on pulling culinary ideas from all corners of cooking: disco fries here get the surprising addition of pork sausage, coconut caramel, and pickled jalapeños; spiced fish tostadas made with cod; a "spicy handroll" dip made with tuna and hamachi; biscuits with pimiento cheese punched up with chile crunch; wood-fired sprouted cauliflower and whole branzino; and an eggplant dish made with tahini, carrot hummus, and tzatziki. Lunch is available during the week and the restaurant will have brunch offerings on the weekend, with hours 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; reservations are available via SevenRooms. The cocktail menu includes non-alcoholic and low-ABV options and promises a "focus on seasonality," according to the press release, and the dining room will feature a healthy number of plants and a retro style echoed throughout the lounge area and cobblestone patio, per the San Francisco Chronicle." - Dianne de Guzman

Valley Goat was on my list of places to try but this trip (on a Sunday morning) was more of a happy accident. However unplanned, we were able to be seated for lunch at the bar where full service was still offered. Hostess let us know that the place is busy (all outdoor seating was reserved) despite being relatively new. So I recommend booking ahead if you can! The food was phenomenal and feels like the tastes were really well thought out. I had the Yolk-onomiyaki and the Yucatan Pork Belly with Tomatoes. Both felt “crafted” with Asian and Mexican flavors respectively! The menu was small but overall looks really delicious and I’d be interested to try more next time but was very happy with the two I did - the other items, although just as delicious, didn’t seem as unique as these and I could maybe find similar ones elsewhere. The atmosphere seems like it would really pull people in. The colors, plants, decor, music were a really lovely patio vibe. The Treehouse resort area it is located in general was also fun to walk around!

Amazing experience!! Great ambiance with lots of live plants and a living wall of primarily pothos in the waiting area. Great service. We loved Fernando's attentiveness and exceptional service. The menu changes frequently. Today we dined on Goat Empanadas, Veggie Empanadas, Crispy Quinoa Tuna Poke Salad, Yucatan Pork Belly & Tomato, Yolk-Onomiyaki, House Maple Sausage, Brunch Potatoes, and Cinnabiscuit. Everything was awesome, but my favorite was the Quinoa. The light popping in your mouth, combined with the creaminess of the avocado makes it amazing! All of the dishes were an exploration of wonderful textures and amazing flavors. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent job Mary-Anne and Manny, thank your incredible team for making it a special night for us! Keep up the good work! Reservations are highly recommended! This place is amazing as well as their food, drinks, ambiance, and people. Yall be nice and patient to the staff, ok? Great vibes for date night too, picturesque campus both day and night! Like our Phones their menu is updated, except seasonally! They had blueberry pancakes for brunch but is now apple! This time we came for dinner and had their pork shank, shrimp salad, goat empadadas, spicy handroll dip and avocado dip with chips. I wish all their sauces came in a bigger container- I could drink the entire thing (it's THAT good)! For the greens we had their wood-fired sprouted cauliflower, sautéed green beans with cashews. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back to try more of their seasonal items! Stay blessed Valley G.O.A.T (truly Greatest Of All Time! 💯)

I had no idea there was a place like this in my neighborhood! Every dish had a real kick, and you could tell the chef puts a lot of thought into texture—there was always something surprisingly crispy hidden in each bite. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the seasoning wasn’t bland at all—just the right amount of salt to make everything pop. My top recommendation? Definitely the shank—it was absolutely delicious. The Disco Fries with coconut sauce and toppings were addictive, and the crispy salmon was next-level good. Portions weren’t huge, but they were just right for me. Some might think it’s on the smaller side, but I thought it was perfect. And here’s the surprise—I’m usually not a dessert person, but here, you have to try it. Even the desserts had that hidden crispy element. So fun, so creative. The corkage fee is $45, which is pretty steep. The wine is also really expensive, and there’s no wine list—that’s definitely a downside. The vibe? Amazing. I’m already planning my next visit.

Really liked our experience here and we will definitely be back. Limited options for vegetarians but whatever we tried was delicious! Especially recommend the carrot hummus and empanadas. The cocktails were okay - though nothing notable. Overall, great ambience and great food.

Was here for a corporate event with a fixed menu, family style. Have not been to this part of Sunnyvale before and was impressed with the setup at the Treehouse hotel. The Valley Goat is apparently set up by a famous chef from Chicago and one could tell from the quality and presentation of the food. There was not a single dish that we didn’t enjoy. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Will definitely consider returning for a personal meal.

We ate at the bar which has full dinner service. Everyone at the bar helped with service and made excellent recommendations. They were all very excited to share their favorites. They have larger plates, which they said should feed 1 person and then smaller plates that are meant to be shared. For the smaller plates, they recommended 2-3 per person. Every dish was flavorful and surprising. Dessert was a mix of sweet and savory. Completely satisfied and highly recommend a visit.
