Chicago Celeb Chef Stephanie Izard Enters the Bay Area Restaurant Scene With Valley Goat | Eater SF

"Award-winning chef Stephanie Izard opens her first Bay Area restaurant with a launch in Sunnyvale on Monday, March 31; it serves as the star restaurant for Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley and is an addition to Izard’s growing list of “Goat” restaurants, including Girl & the Goat and Cabra (both with locations in Chicago and Los Angeles), plus Little Goat Diner and Duck Duck Goat in Chicago. The menu zigzags across different types of cuisines and utilizes locally grown produce for a mix of dishes filled with "bold, globally inspired flavors," per a press release. Fans of Izard’s restaurants may spy familiar dishes such as goat- and veggie-stuffed empanadas with a "limey" dressing with huacatay, a Peruvian herb, or the sticky pork shank. New creations continue her focus on pulling culinary ideas from all corners of cooking: disco fries here get the surprising addition of pork sausage, coconut caramel, and pickled jalapeños; spiced fish tostadas made with cod; a "spicy handroll" dip made with tuna and hamachi; biscuits with pimiento cheese punched up with chile crunch; wood-fired sprouted cauliflower and whole branzino; and an eggplant dish made with tahini, carrot hummus, and tzatziki. Lunch is available during the week and the restaurant will have brunch offerings on the weekend, with hours 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; reservations are available via SevenRooms.
