Really great flavors. Big fan of the cherry chip. The vegan flavors do not taste vegan (in a good way). My brother even ordered something and he never orders ice cream at a shop.

This place is going to make me diabetic. I came, I tasted and left with a sundae and two pints. All for me because it’s my birthday! Thanks to Aine for helping a hungry mother out!

I love Van Leeuwen but had never been to this location and stopped by recently. I was served by Anya and she cemented this as my favorite location! She was so nice when helping me pick a flavor and we chatted for a little bit. Plus the ice cream was bomb! 🫶🏻

Flavors: honeycomb, strawberry matcha, cheesecake These flavors were all super unique + delicious. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth a try and once in a while splurge. We came around 11pm, so service was super quick and the worker was really patient I was trying samples. Small location, but there is outdoor seating.

This place was delicious. I tried a few flavors and landed on the passion fruit flavor. I love a good tart and sweet combo. Good service but everything was quite pricey for the portion size. I will say I went with my vegan friend who is also gluten free, and she had only one flavor option. Most of the vegan options had cake/ cookie crumbles in it so she was a bit disappointed. Parking was terrible. I believe the parking lot was valet only.

Came here on a saturday night and the place wasnt too busy. I got their mango and brown sugar flavors and they were amazing. They also offer free samples so you can try the flavor before choosing. Super friendly vibes and great ice cream!

Had the pistachio and the earl gray, and I think they were fairly bland especially for the price. The cookies and cream however was pretty nice. Hard to mess that up though I think. The staff was really nice, I really appreciated them!

We came in for ice cream and had a few samples then I ordered a scoop of honeycomb ice cream and it was so smooth and sweet and delicious! My son and his gf had a scoop of mint chocolate chip. I forgot to take a pic of my honeycomb ice cream because I ate it alll. Yum

van leeuwen and i have finally crossed paths. there are a lot of bomb ice cream spots in LA so i've never managed to visit this spot. however, this place is open later than many other spots and ive heard good things about van leeuwen so i decided to check it out. - the flavors are unique and there are a lot of choices (reg and vegan) - their ice cream has a signature taste from the egg yolks and is quite delicious - prices for a single scoop are on the higher end- being about $7 for a average sized scoop overall recommend

Good ice cream, not amazing. Above average pricing. The pistachio ice cream was dissappointing, no pistachio nuts!? Really?? The mango sorbet, was a bit salty as I wish it was noted in the name. I wanted to like this cute place but it gonna be tough since there are about a half dozen ice cream/sorbet shoppes in the area. Staff were warm and friendly.

Price is above average, but I can say that I've never tried a vegan ice cream as good. I had the peanut butter cookie dough brownie flavor (or something like that) and I couldn't tell it was vegan. They had a lot of other different flavors too, not just vegan, and I would like to try them, like the earl grey or the cranberry crumble. You can also choose toppings or sundaes, that come with cherry, chantilly, chocolate swirls, etc. The place was very cute and colorful, but don't expect to seat, this is clearly not the intention of the venue.

I highly recommend Van Leeuwen! Lots of choices and flavors to choose from. It was a hard choice to make. I ultimately decided on the brown sugar chunk. It was really delicious, especially paired with the waffle cone. I added Oreo toppings to my cone for a bit of crunch. You can enjoy your cone or cup in the small eating area inside the shop or take it to go. They also sell pints if you want to take home some of your favorite flavors.

Must try the Black Cherry Chip! So so good! Valet parking is available but there is also street metered parking.

Yum, I love Van Leeuwen ice cream! I usually pick up a pint at my local Sprouts. It was a nice treat to pop into the store after dinner. Their seasonal flavors are always delicious and I love how they cater to vegans, which include dairy-free, gluten-free, etc. options! You can pack up a pint of your favorite flavor in the store as well for about $10 or so. Check out their shakes if you are looking for something different. You can literally turn any flavor into a shake!

Super cute ice cream place in silver lake. They were open late when we came (11pm) They offer delicious flavors in ice cream and vegan flavors as well. I love that there are many locations and they offer their products in stores too. YUM!!

Busy shopping center and bad parking especially on weekends due to the lot being used as valet for the club across the street. We walked over here after dinner nearby but would be hard to quickly park and grab your ice cream. They do sell pints to go! Yummy ice cream. Just a tough location.

Honeycomb ice cream was so creamy and perfectly sweet! It's a perfect combination and it pairs well with all the flavors so I will forever get that flavor now. Earl grey was good too! I appreciate that they have dairy free options for the rumbly tumblies as well. But we suffer, we stan. Loves it

Good. Nowhere near the class of Jeni's or Salt n' Straw. Nowhere. But good. Boring flavors. McConnell's kicks their ass, too. The flavors where they try to get creative are a waste. Peanut butter brownie honeycomb. Brown sugar cookie dough chunk. How about chocolatey chocolate with chocolate dipped chocolate? Plus, they're obnoxiously more expensive than their superiors.

I had went here with my friends at night for some ice cream. Guy at the front was really welcoming and helpful throughout ( thank you! ). Ice cream was amazing. Wish it was closer so I could go back immediately haha

My eyes lit up when I walked by Van Leeuwen and saw that they had Vegan Ice Cream. Walked in and was delighted with all the flavors they offered. Decided to go with the Blue Jasmine and Earl Grey Tea double scoop with Waffle Cone. It was definitely a spurge because double scoop on waffle cone was almost $10. If I am rating the ice cream and flavors by itself, they would have easily received a 5 star rating from me. Unfortunately the waffle cone slightly disappointed me because it was too thick and not crunchy enough. Thus dropping the rating slightly. They do have a small parking in the strip mall, but it seems like they charge $5 for valet parking. Instead of paying extra for parking, I just found street parking a block away. Loved it, but I might probably save myself a buck and go with sugar cone next time.

Good ice cream with some unique flavors! The store is small, but it's a good spot to quickly get ice cream on the go. I tried the blue jasmine tea flavor and it was pretty tasty. The ice cream is super creamy but I wish the tea flavor came through a little more strong. I also felt like the ice cream was a little overpriced ($6 for a small scoop) but it's a nice place to try if you're looking to treat yourself.

The Marionberry Cheesecake flavor will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. They have so many fun flavors and I'm happy that they do samples because I love trying a little bit of everything. I would skip the waffle cone next time though and just opt for the cup.

If you love coconut, the vegan ice cream is a must. I got the chocolate fudge brownie (cashew milk and coconut base) and I thought the texture would be weird, but it worked so well! There were chunks of fudge & coconut shavings, and didn't feel as heavy as dairy ice cream. Will definitely be back to try the other vegan flavors. I usually like oat milk, but didn't love the oat milk flavors, bc the oat flavor was too strong - I'll be sticking with cashew milk! Parking sucks in this area, there's valet that can be validated if you get ice cream, but also just try to look for metered street parking!

Great ice cream option in Silver Lake especially if you're already on this street for the myriad of nightlife and dining options. Right next door is the infamous Silverlake Ramen. Parking is street parking or in the adjacent neighborhoods. Honestly, pretty tough if you're not used to LA parking, and even tough if you are. I did see that there is validation for 20 minutes of valet parking. Ice cream flavors aren't visible like in some shops, so you'll have to read the menu or have an idea of what you want beforehand. This place is pretty small, so keep that in mind. There is a tiny round table that sits two and a longer table that sits three at the front by the window. Also very yellow walls too which definitely wakes you up. Got two scoops in a cup for $8.85. Pistachio and double chocolate crunch brownie. Both were actually really great! The chocolate was super rich and definitely had a nice texture to it, and the pistachio was standout. Employees here were hard-working, and I really have to commend them for handling a situation with someone who entered the business and disrupted some customers. It wasn't very easy to navigate, but the staff here did it in a respectful and safe manner. Definitely major props for that.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for what? For Van Leeuwen Ice Cream!! My go-to's... Earl Grey Tea, Mint Chip and Pistachio! Classics at Van Leeuwen. I tried their Kraft Mac and Cheese... and mmm was actually good! A bit cheesy but not too cheesy. They also have specials seasonal flavors (like the mac & cheese one), Vegan Ice Cream, and your normal milk-based ice cream. Something for everyone. A bit pricey but so worth it! I've been to many locations from Culver City, to Silverlake, to Hollywood (Flanklin blvd).

I really like the vegan options they have here. The ice cream is creamy and the flavors they have a super unique. I would say that if you are lactose intolerant, this would be the place to go to. They have a small parking lot but I didn't have any issues finding parking. There's also street parking as well.

I'm not sure if it was the weekend we went on but they did not allow any sampling which makes sense due to Covid. They only allow groups of three in the store at a time. First time trying Vegan ice cream and I am very impressed how delicious and creamy it tasted. Ordered their Vegan Cookie Crumble Strawberry Jam and boy oh boy it was the best dessert to consume after eating a bowl of Tsukemen. Was very surprise to learn that this ice cream shop is actually a chain store back in the East coast.

If there's one flavor combination I never knew I needed in my life, it's the yuzu and sake kasu cake. First of all, I can't get over how cute the colors are- it's like a calico of cream, pale green, and a light beige. The yuzu gives it a tang, and sake a bit of sharpness, and the cake (didn't realize til later that kasu is for castella which I love)/matcha makes it sweet and earthy. Keeps your taste buds on your toes. So glad the person working recommended this!!

Parking: Easy parking in their small open lot. We came a bit before closing so there were plenty of spots. But be forewarned, it smelled like sulfur outside. Food: I was super happy to find out they allow flavor sampling. Some of my favorite samples were the planet earth and brownie swirl. But my favorite flavor at Van Leeuwen is earl grey so I ended up getting a scoop of that. Ambiance/Service: Super bright and clean inside. Not busy but that was definitely because we came pretty late at night. Shoutout to the worker who let us taste test so many flavors!

Solid spot to get some ice cream after eating around in the surrounding area or if you are craving something sweet. They offer a wide assortment of flavors ranging from classic flavors like Vanilla Bean and Chocolate to Blood Orange Creamsicle and Marionberry Cheesecake. They also have vegan ice cream that is made out of cashew milk and oatmilk for anyone that is lactose or can't have dairy. There are also a variety of toppings to pair alongside the ice cream which is a plus. One downside that I do have about this place is the lack of seating. There is probably enough seats inside to seat four people maximum and there isn't any spaces available outside to sit. Would be nice if they setup some chairs and tables outside for customers to enjoy their ice cream.

Certainly not the best I've ever had but the whole experience was delightful. Firstly, the interior is bright and fun. Love feeling like I'm a child in a happy place! The worker on a Sunday evening was super helpful and kind when me and my bf couldn't decide. I ended up with two scoops and a waffle cone- and it was SO filling I couldn't even eat it all! . The honeycomb is my favorite! It is expensive, a cone + 2 scoops was just under $9. but if you're in the mood to splurge, this is def the way to go!

Such a cute ice cream spot with yummy seasonal flavors! We got the pumpkin cheesecake and regretted not to buy the whole pint. There were bits of what seemed like pie crust which made it so much yummier!

Was around LA with my friends Thursday night(10/21) looking for a dessert place that is open late(midnight). We were so excited to come across this shop and got there roughly 11pm. There was a male and female employee present and no other customers. I had forgotten my mask so the male employee offered me one and I gladly accepted it. I even apologized and said "Thank you." We were taking our time since it was our first visit and no one else was waiting. They had wide selections of interesting flavors so we asked if we could try some. The male employee didn't respond but instead, rolled his eyes and still proceeded to give us 1 sample. We asked for another sample but this time it was the female employee that attended to us and was very helpful. Still, was browsing through their menu, and STILL, NO ONE was there besides us; the male employee would continuously glare at us giving tension wanting us to leave. In addition, he would hastily asked if we were ready to pay even though only 1 out us 3 friends had gotten an order. I noticed that he would violently smash lids or containers while we were being helped by the other employee. We felt so uncomfortable. At this point, I lost my appetite because of his behavior and just decided not to order one for myself. We paid for the food while being given a silent treatment and tension. Not even "bye" or "thank you" I would totally understand if it was closing time, but it was not the case. We were out from your door by 11:05pm. From this awful experience, we would not be coming back. We would not recommend to anyone to go to this location. We didnt feel wanted nor even respected.

This ice cream is the best I've ever had and the employees were really friendly. They lost 1 star because the scoops are half the size of other locations, so I probably will not return to this location. I would've taken 2 stars away for the scoop size but that wouldn't be fair of the quality of ice cream and friendly service.

Van Leeuwen serves some amazing ice cream in this small, hip stall in a corner of Silverlake's plaza. The ice cream is creamy and smooth and the you can really taste the quality of the ingredients they use. We got the Honeycomb and Pistachio flavors. The Honeycomb tastes like a softer sea salt caramel and the Pistachio was an earthy nutty flavor that was uncommon among other ice cream's pistachio's flavors. They even have gluten and vegan flavors for all your friends to enjoy! Also hooray for opening until midnight on a weekday night!

So many flavors here. I actually love this place, but not as good as other ice cream places that I won't name cause it feels unfair. We got the marionberry one this time and it was good. 8/10, would eat a whole pint in 5 minutes.

Had this delivered and it was quick! Pretty pricey at $10 per pint- but that seems normal for LA pricing. The ice cream was in good shape and not melted when it got here which was nice! Cute ice cream peel tops too :) We got the chocolate brownie and The chocolate is really intense and heavy on the flavor! Super sweet so be prepared! The other we got was the peanut butter brownie which was definitely the better of the two!

My best friends just moved to this area and came across this sweet spot. First off, a super clean ice cream shop (caters to several dietary restrictions). There's a complete vegan menu! All of the flavors I tried were unique and delicious, I ended up going with Earl Gray Tea and Honeycomb (apparently that's a popular combo). Both had really rich flavors of Earl Gray and honey, but not in an overbearing way. The shop is also very cute and super clean. I even saw customers coming in and buying pints home, which I would totally do if I lived there. It is in a busy and small complex on a busy street in Silverlake, so allocate some time to find parking. I'll definitely be back soon!

Was craving ice cream after lunch on a hot day and Van Leeuwen was close to where we ate. The interior is clean and bright inside and they had a lot of flavors to choose from, including vegan options. Unfortunately, service was unfriendly and unhelpful when we asked for suggestions and when we ordered. We tried the marionberry cheesecake (very sweet) and brown sugar cookie dough (plain tasting but good texture). But ended up with the mint chip, pistachio, and strawberry. All of the flavors were underwhelming. At $6 a scoop, this was a below average experience. Probably would have been better off going to a Cold Stone or Ben and Jerry's.

I've been having Van Leeuwen since they were in food trucks in Williamsburg. Always delicious with great quality. I've been into the Vegan Pistachio lately. Next level!

Van leeuwen! Super creamy and tasty ice cream and lots of vegan flavors too! They have seating for only about 4 people just FYI so you might be standing outside for the most part. Free parking lot. Got the salted caramel flavor during this visit to the Silverlake location and it taste exactly like caramel candy!

LOVEDDD the planet earth ice cream. Looks were cute and tasted delicious all at once. Also, it is vegan. It is made out of raw cashew milk and coconut cream. The blue is made with spirulina, which is rich in nutrients and the green is green tea cake. Because there is cake in here, it gives the ice cream a nice texture to each bite. Would come back any day for this flavor!

Of course their vegan ice cream is legit! They let you sample as much as you want on REAL spoons. Price wise, it's steep but you can't go wrong with the ingredients. Location is the worst! Small parking lot ( Tiny strip mall) next to silverlake ramen which ALWAYS has a line out the door which means your NEVER finding parking unless you get lucky. Actual location is next door from silverlake ramen but the space is huge and clean. No place to eat inside but if your waiting in the ramen line DESSERT FIRST happens in other countries.. lol just saying.
