I recently visited Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. The ice cream was decent, though nothing amazing. The shop was quite busy and the line was quite long. The shop itself was quite small, and there were no cookies available to make ice cream sandwiches. The decor was quite nice though.

Visited the store for the first time and received the worst customer service ever. The sever was a short man with a mask. I told him my order and he immediately was eye rolling during the exchange. I order three different ice cream and he got annoyed. I even tipped he honestly needs to learn from his peers that were so friendly.

Ordered the earl grey ice cream in the kids size and it was the perfect portion! The ice cream was creamy and so yummy. If you’re not sure about what flavor you want, ask for a tasting spoon before you make a choice :)

Be sure to pay attention to the board when ordering - they list allergens & staff is helpful when making a selection. 100% worth the calories if you're in the mood for a sweet treats. Very very rich. Will likely do single scoop in the future.

An exciting addition to the UES neighb! Much shorter lines than the 2nd Ave location and if you’re lucky enough to get Yerial as your ice cream scooper you’ll really be winning 🙌🏼 So grateful for the great service, fantastic recs and her patience through our flavor indecision. They have fantastic vegan selections that taste just as good as dairy if not better and be sure to go on Tuesdays for a free topping 👌🏼
