After finding fame on Masterchef in 2010 as a runner-up, chef Alex Rushmer took over the Hole in the Wall, a country pub in Little Wilbraham, which, in a happy twist of fate, was previously owned by the family of Dom’s Coffee founder Domenico O’Neill. Food was well presented, visually pleasing and tasted delicious. Service was efficient but not intrusive, the atmosphere was relaxing. Little touches like choice of ceramics to present dishes enhanced overall experience. We are not vegetarians but if we ate dishes like you created everyday., we would be.The cashew parfait was outstanding - I could have eaten it all to myself. We both appreciated the amount of preparation, thought and skill which went into all of the dishes.We will be back!!

We had an amazing evening at Vanderlyle enjoying the tasting menu. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, with excellent service throughout. Every course was creative, varied, and full of flavour - The oyster mushrooms were a standout for us, and the lemon sorbet was incredible. They also adapted the menu for gluten intolerance without any fuss - amazing gf brioche too! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sublime dining experience!

Really good food, not like anything I've had before, from cucumber meringue at the start , to apple choux bun at the end it was all delicious. Soft drink pairings worked well too.

Dining at Vanderlyle is an amazing experience and such a privilege. My partner and I have been 4 times in the last 7 months, and every time we are blown away by the food, atmosphere, and service. We have celebrated our 30th birthdays and our engagement here at the pass, as well as dining during the changing seasons to experience the seasonal menus. I cannot fault this place - the food is absolutely unbelievable: the menu is so creative, and whether it’s something completely novel or something you’ve had before, every bite feels like the best version you’ve tasted of what’s on the plate. We plan to keep coming at least once a quarter to try the seasonal menu, but make sure you set your alarm for a table as they sell out fast! Our favourite restaurant ever!

The most incredible restaurant and the best experience we have EVER had! Everything from setting, music, atmosphere, service and food was INCREDIBLE. Start to finish we could not fault a thing and a week in and we are still buzzing and I just can't wait to go again. My fiancé and I have visited Vanderlyle many times over the span of about 5 years. Everytime we are so impressed and have a lovely experience. I am gluten free and they accommodate my dietary requirements well, providing a gf menu that either closely mirrors or is identical to the regular non-gf menu with absolutely no fuss. The food is always so creative and the standard of cooking is always a given every time we visit. The photos are a selection of the dishes and menus we've had over the years

We had a brilliant time at Vanderlyle Restaurant. The food was exceptional. Each course was so innovative. Who knew a carrot could taste like this. We opted for the wine pairing (highly recommend this) and every course was matched perfectly with the wine. Not only the food, but service was impeccable. Would love to come back.
