What to Eat and Drink on a Day Trip From Seattle to Vashon Island | Eater Seattle

"This long white wooden store carries a side of coffee history: it was the first location of the Seattle’s Best Coffee chain after specialty coffee pioneer Jim Stewart, who started his first roaster in 1969 on Whidbey Island, moved to Vashon in 1982 and turned the century-old building into a coffee roastery called Stewart Brothers. After winning a regional coffee tasting contest (and hearing a company had dibs on the Stewart Brothers name), he renamed it Seattle’s Best Coffee, then later sold it. When Eva Solea, who opened an herb, spice and organic food store about a block away in 1972, wanted to expand, she acquired the vacant building, along with its original coffee roasting equipment. Stewart, then retired, became her coffee mentor. Her family still sources coffee beans from his nonprofit Vashon Island Coffee Foundation, roasts it with his vintage machinery, and her shop, Minglement, is inside." - Sharon McDonnell

A living coffee museum and roastery in the birthplace of Seattle’s Best Coffee. Noted by Seattle magazine and Eater’s Vashon guides, it’s a ferry-close caffeine pilgrimage with deep local roots.

Wow! Isn’t this an establishment! It’s a huge coffee shop with a plethora of tea varieties available to brew fresh. They have coffee beans for sale and there is a bookshop, gift shop and herbs/supplements shop upstairs. They roast the beans right on the corner of the building. We ordered a drip and oat cappuccino. It was blazing hot and has a crispness to it. We also got a Persian dessert ensemble and couldn’t wait to take it back home.

Google
Great coffee and some very tasty baked goods... I had already bought their coffee before in the grocery store and online but had never visited the actual roastery and cafe before and I was not disappointed. Very very rustic and cozy, the staff is very friendly and welcoming and it was just a really cool place to just hang out and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee...

Google
One of the BEST places to get coffee on Vashon Island. You can order a variety espresso inside OR have some of the best drip coffee that they have set up on the porch. You can drink your coffee on the porch with the locals. My daughter and I split 2 different croissants ham and cheese and mushroom— The ham and cheese was delicious but the mushroom was TO die for!!! The pumpkin muffin was AMAZING!! You can purchase fresh roasted coffee and their varieties of teas are endless… Atmosphere is typical of the island- welcoming and laid back—HIGHLY recommend!!! Halloween they have the local pumpkin carving contest— a MUST see if in the area!!

Google
This was a nice coffee shop to visit on Vashon Island. The almond croissant was super delicious, and the overall ambiance was good and there’s lot to see inside. It is connected to a couple of other small businesses that you should check out.

Google
This is always my first stop when on the island. I love the coffee, the pastries, the history of the place, and the warm friendly vibe from the locals. It is the kind of place I can sit down and talk to locals over a cup of coffee and feel like I belong on the island. People on the island are full of wonderful and interesting stories. I could talk to people who come and go there for hours and days.

We were quite excited to see that they have manual espresso machines. They also have a large selection of baking. The line up for coffee is a different line for merchandise. To buy a coffee drink or baked goods, the line is just in front of the back wall. We purchased espresso oat milk drinks with a couple of freshly baked scones. The scones were not moist. As shown in the picture for a cappuccino, the micro foam was definitely below Seattle standard. I found my latte quite bitter. It is quite difficult to make a consistently perfect espresso drink with a manual lever espresso machine. The only place that we've tasted consistently perfect hand pulled shots was in Soho, London, at Bar Italia.

Google
The best coffee shop on vashon in terms of character, coffee, and atmosphere. Had such a charm to it, not to mention the minglement store and local groceries connected to it! Barista was very nice as well.

Google
Visited this spot while we were visiting the area for a day. I would absolutely see myself frequenting here if I lived on Vashon. Great selection and awesome space. So many options for the whole family and strong community feel.

Yelp
A LOCAL'S FAVORITE. This old coffee roasting house is where Seattle's Best Coffee company started. They have since moved on, but it is now run by a local outfit that roasts and serves their own brand of coffee! The place is medium-sized, with seating available both inside and outside on the porch. They sometimes have live music, which is what brought me here today. I even got to play my harmonica on a few tunes. The staff if friendly and chatty, and it is easy to feel right at home here. The coffee is delicious, and the roasts range from light to very dark. Buy a bag of coffee beans and get a free cup of coffee. There is a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and snacks. Many locals come here for a cup of joe and a pastry to start their day. This is a great local spot to relax and strike up a conversation with a local. Next time you are on Vashon Island, I recommend stopping in for a cup, and while you're there, pick up a bag to take home. Cheers.

Yelp
This review is more for the vibe than anything else. First time on Vashon Island and stopped to get coffee here. This cafe is not a normal cafe. The entrance greets you with their charming porch speckled with people sitting on benches and chairs, casually sipping on coffee. Inside feels like an old-timey goods store. The line to order at the counter was a bit crowded, but the cashier was friendly and after getting coffee, it was so nice to walk throughout the building and explore. The main cafe has coffee & tea items lining shelves in a rustic way, and old roasting equipment to look at. There was even a band playing music on banjos and fiddles, adding an extra boost of energy to the experience! If you walk to the right of the entrance, you'll go up the stairs and arrive at what seems like a small grocery & goods store with unique offerings. Oh and don't forget to stop at the cute little bookstore while up there. Of course I can't forget to mention the reason we went in the first place, the coffee! It may seem boring, but the only thing we ordered was drip coffee. We were handed a cup and told to go outside to the porch to fill it up. I was a bit skeptical, but that didn't last long. There was a small variety of options (maybe 3) of drip coffee in thermal containers that were clearly labeled. It was nice being able to take small portions and taste to decide which coffee we wanted to go with. They all were hot, tasted freshly brewed, and delicious, even the decaf. Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie is definitely a must-see when on the island.

Yelp
On my family's first trip to Vashon Island this was our first stop and we loved the charming local vibe of this coffee shop. I ordered a 16oz iced mocha and it was deliciously flavourful. I really enjoyed how well the rich chocolate flavour was incorporated into my drink. My little sister got a 16oz iced peach tea and thought it wasn't bad. There is a lot of confusion with their menu signage. On the specials menu, berry peach iced tea is listed and that's what my sister asked for, but the tea ended up being only peach black tea. According to the barista the berry and peach are different but the signage doesn't reflect that and when we ordered at the register, the woman taking our order didn't tell us that the berry and peach were two different teas. The fruit danish caught my eye and when I asked the woman at the register, she had no idea what fruit was on it. We ordered it anyway and appreciated that they were able to warm it up for us. The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how the tart rainier cherries paired perfectly with the deliciously creamy cheese. It was so good my family all fought over the last bite. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I just wish the empty tables weren't messy and covered in crumbs, it really harshed the cosy cafe aesthetic.

Yelp
I worked at Starbucks coffee manufacturing for 6 years. I am a sensory trained panelist and a coffee master. I have had, quite a bit of coffee. That being said, this was the best vanilla iced latte I've ever had. I stumbled into this place when I was on the island for my daughter's volleyball game. Desperately needed a cup of coffee. The staff is incredible. They told me all about the history of the building. Where they get their beans from. Things they do for the public. The whole place is just welcoming and smells incredible because they roast in house. Definitely worth the trip to go see them.

Yelp
This was such a find on our trip! My wife is always looking for all natural organic wellness places, we stumbled across this shop on our troll hunting while visiting Seattle before heading to The Gorge to see Dave Matthews Band. My wife could have spent hours here, we will definitely be back next year and spend more time! Besides drinks and something to munch on I found these awesome books I had to get one!
google avatar

Luke H.

Yelp
An amazing atmosphere on the island. With one of the most complete and diverse tea selections I have seen.
google avatar

Yelp
My child and I went on a lovely winter break day trip to Vashon Island recently and stopped at this local coffee roaster to journal a bit. They have tons of antique roasting apparatus here and there was so much to look at. The store meanders and is very fun to explore. They have a cute little espresso window in the main shop's corner, a health food store, and a used bookshop with very high quality offerings. We picked up a beautiful copy of Arctic Dreams and a book on Taliesen. We enjoyed our beverages and cookies in a spacious seating area that looks into a lovely street and a quite gorgeous municipal theater across the street.
google avatar

Maricor C.

Yelp
So much charm! There's plenty of seating to enjoy your coffee and spend a quiet morning or afternoon. I love that you can see the roasting machinery right inside. They have a charming selection of other goods too near the register. My fiancé and I enjoyed our visit. The coffee was great, service was lovely. This was a perfect spot to end our weekend staycation before heading back on the ferry.

Yelp
First time coming out to the island in 25 years. We were in desperate need of coffee so we decided to check out this cute spot in downtown vashon. This is what I would call a "pure" coffee shop. Everything is natural and home made, no sweeteners or flavors. The coffee was good, and the bagel breakfast sandwich was simple. yet delicious. It's a bit spendy, but I'm guessing that's Island prices ($36 for 2 sandwiches and 2 cold brew coffee). Next door is a pizza spot where you can get pizza by the slice. It smells amazing. Defiantly going to check that one out next time.

Mary A.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! We love the Front Porch French roast! We have it shipped, because we have never found a better roast.
google avatar

Kary V.

Yelp
GREAT ambience! Lots of drink / treat options, to include a wall of tea. Service was friendly and speedy. Definitely recommend if you're on the island.
google avatar

Gina K.

Yelp
On the recommendation of our host, we came for coffee and almond croissants. The coffee was perfect! The almond croissants were the most decadent we've ever had!! If we lived here, we'd be in trouble.
google avatar

Dina P.

Yelp
If your in Vashon Island, stop by this coffee shop. It's roast is strong and has a great selection of loose teas for purchase. Service was pleasant and quick. It's very quaint inside. There's even board games available if you wanted to lounge around inside.
google avatar

Carla M.

Yelp
The service is great, the selection of teas is great, and there are sandwiches, yogurt, baklava and pastries if you're hungry. There are plenty of tables. We had 6 people to do taste testing. We told them when we were ready for the next kind of tea. For one large pot and 5 smaller pots it only cost $4 each. The store connected to the tea and coffee restaurant has lots of healthy options. I love this place. My only criticism is that it felt cold inside although it was pretty warm (60) outside.
google avatar

Love MyLinh T.

Yelp
Beautiful flowers and tea selection, and a very warm welcome from the tall man at the tea counter. It wasn't busy, but our iced latte did take 15 minutes as we became the only people still waiting. Coffee service was rude and after compliments on the handwriting and obvious attempts at conversation, I see that the barista was intentionally ignoring my friendliness. I thanked her twice for the coffee since it appeared she didn't hear the first time, yet no acknowledgement. Would have given it a sweet 5 star for our first interaction and impression shop but unfortunately overall service heavily changed the entire experience. General note: Please be kind to your customers, especially when they are kind to you.
google avatar

Parth S.

Yelp
Amazing coffee shop with a ton of options, and bakery items from all over Washington. They have a lot of seating available as well as board games and decks of cards. It's a super relaxing atmosphere and great place to start your day off. It takes a few minutes to get your drinks, but it's definitely worth it!
google avatar

Peter J.

Yelp
Very convenient place to grab a cup of regular coffee. I like the self service option where you pour your own cup. Super friendly staff, good choice of coffee, definitely worth visiting.
google avatar

Michele S.

Yelp
I love everything about this Vashon mainstay: good coffee, amazing selection of loose teas to purchase, wholesome food and snacks and a quaint building with history. This is the site of the old Stewart Brothers roasters, which was the origins of Seattle's Best Coffee brand. Coffee is still roasted on-site and you can see all of the roasting equipment from the cafe above. Service is always friendly and knowledgeable, and there is the added bonus of sharing the space with Minglement, a great little organic market and herb shop. This is a place to read a book or just enjoy your food and beverage in a relaxed environment. Definitely not a "set up shop" and work on a laptop spot. I never miss a visit when on Vashon.

Yelp
I loved loved loved this place! First, the man working there was super nice! He greeted as soon as I entered and said to let him know if he needed anything. I asked if there was a menu, and he pointed to a small one in the back corner, but he also said to ask if there was something in particular I wanted. Since it was such a hot day, I asked if they had iced tea, which of course they did. He said there was a standard iced tea that they make, but that they could also make it to order with any of the bajillion loose leaf teas they had along the back wall (which is just really cool in itself). I ended picking a lychee black tea and the man told me that on other days this is the tea that they use to make iced tea too, so I picked a good one! Because he was brewing the tea, it took a few minutes of waiting, so I paid for my beverage and then looked around. The second thing that I loved about the Roasterie is the historic building. The man told me that this was once home to Seattle's Best Coffee. Then they got bought out by Starbucks, and the building is now home to the Roasterie. The interior is very cool and has lots of vintage coffee memorabilia that's fun to look at. Also in the building, to the very right is a cute little grocery store called Minglement that is very fun to look around. My iced tea was very refreshing but it was the overall experience and great customer service that makes this place so memorable. I love to give local gifts to people and if you know a coffee lover, the Roasterie's Orca Blend makes a great gift. The packaging features orca artwork. The coffee shop is on the Vashon Highway, but it's a bit aways from the main drag, but if you're headed to Point Robinson for the lighthouse, it's on the way, so make a stop!

Yelp
While staying at our Airbnb on Vashon Island, our host provided coffee grounds from this particular Roastery. We've enjoyed the delicious brew that we decided to check out this Roastery on our last day to stock up some beans as souvenir. Parking seemed to be off to the side of the building. As we entered, the place was beautifully arranged (sort of rustic vibe), well stocked and there are plenty of seating all around. We were immediately approached by one of the clerks but we were just looking around at the moment. There are plenty of souvenir items and coffee things on display to the right as we entered so I got myself a thermos with their logo on it as well as the same coffee bean we used at our Airbnb. They even have a menu board of their drinks and food items which can be enjoyed on site or on the go. We didn't order anything off their menu as we were sort of in a hurry to be somewhere, so I really hadn't had the chance to look carefully at what was being offered. We hope to came back one day and fully enjoy Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie.

Yelp
A well established indie roaster and cafe on Vashon Island, pulled off the road from island exploring for a hot beverage (1/19/20). Very interactive counter person showing me the tea varieties, the other barista not so much. Cafe interior kind of dim and indoor seating was full. I sat on the wooden benches under the awning and enjoyed my mocha. Enjoyed this road trip despite the rain coming down hard. Even took a phone call from another Yelper while dodging this squall. He said he could feel my enthusiasm conveyed over the phone. Something about island life, community, slowing down the hectic pace, and good coffee...a pleasant memory about Vashon Island Coffee Roasters for sure.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Service and ambiance are so nice. My 19-yr daughter said it was the "best coffee she's ever had."

Marjorie T.

Yelp
Great coffee and bakery! Don't miss it when you visit Vashon! Very friendly staff also
google avatar

Austin P.

Yelp
This is by far the best coffee on Vashon! I've taken so many visitors here and everyone loves the coffee. I've even bought their coffee as gifts for people. They don't have wifi, so this isn't a great spot to work from. But it's a great spot to get coffee and catch up with a friend!
google avatar

Ian T.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a cup of coffee and or tea. Cool historic vibe and friendly service!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
This is a very relaxed coffee shop. The shop definitely has a lot of character and is a very popular spot for the locals to hangout. We go there almost every time we are on Vashon. The staff is always friendly. They also have an ice cream shop which might be seasonal. Parking in the back.
google avatar

Jessa Y.

Yelp
The Vashon Island Cofee Roasterie (aka Minglemint) is a traditional general store at its finest!.. local goods; gourmet items, imported sea salts, handcrafted gifts, and great coffee with a little used bookstore nook are among the things that makes this place really special as long as well as having a local long local history.
google avatar

Alana K.

Yelp
We just missed the 2pm cut-off for espresso, but we were able to order drip and chai, which we did. The chai was great. The coffee was strong. An array of locally sourced sweet treats that truthfully all looked delectable. They let us sample the baklava and we were sold! Expansive interior with some tables with additional seating out on their patio. Staff was super friendly. Will stop in again.
google avatar

Ricky R.

Yelp
Made a day trip to Vashon for some hiking and some outside time during Covid. After the hike we made a couple stops in town. This was one of them. The coffee shop is cute and has a lot to offer, lot more than I was expecting. The coffee we had was really good. I am happy we stopped. I would love to check them out again next time we come to visit.
google avatar

Tage R.

Yelp
Bad experience with the owner Eva. She snuck up from behind me while I was sitting in a chair, physically grabbed me without my consent, in an aggressive and unwanted manner, and demanded I pay a "suggested donation" cover charge which I had already paid! She easily could have approached me with respect and used her words to hash out the misunderstanding. I had paid the cover charge to the woman at the door and I think there was a miscommunication. It really embarrassed me in front of my friends and spoiled the whole night. I will not be spending my money here ever again. She was unapologetic about her creepy and rude behavior. I have spent thousands of dollars here and I did not appreciate being singled out and harassed in front of a small intimate group of people. I have childhood trauma (physical abuse) and I do not react well to being grabbed by strangers. It really ruined the whole night. It is never okay to surprise grab a person if you don't know them well!
google avatar

Morgan N.

Yelp
The vashon coffee Roasterie was bad service, bad layout because we didn't know what to do when we arrived. There were some confusing signs about "espresso hour" and I didn't know if I was allowed to order espresso or just coffee. The prices were pretty high and there was horrible espresso in the orange mocha with oat milk. We asked about the frosting on a chocolate cupcake in the employee said it was espresso ganache. When we mentioned that probably wouldn't be good for our children she was surprised that my four-year-old and nine-year-old didn't like coffee? It was weird. The brownie was okay but the chocolate chip cookie was not. Maybe we went on an "off day" but they did not make an impression on us
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
My daughter said the coffee in her cold brew was a bit burned. I had delicious hot chocolate with cinnamon syrup and it was fabulous! My reason for the low rating is due to the treatment of "mainlanders." We walked into the shop confused as to where to go to get in line for food or drinks, after less than a minute of trying to figure it out we were told "you're blocking the entrance, please move." (There were six of us). A hand was waved in the other direction and we tried to figure out what was going on, it was truly vague. Then we were told where the line is - it is to the left as you walk through the door and it goes all the way around the cashier station which is large. We later overheard, "the locals know what to do but the mainlanders just don't get it." That's fine, we were tourists. It was the day after thanksgiving. There were lots of tourists actually, I watched the same person who manned the cash register actively ignore others who stood where we had with confused looks for about 20 minutes. The shop is cute and has an epic wall of tea, and lots of tea accessories. Fortunately they are able to make a great income off of locals because it seems tourists are not appreciated (by one of the staff anyway). Oh, I thought my ginger molasses cookie was fabulous! I'll come back because there is a lot to recommend this spot, hopefully a less stressful day and more pleasant person will be on tap next time!
google avatar

Kat K.

Yelp
This cozy, old world spot is becoming a regular stop for me when I'm visiting Vashon. The people working here are pleasant and accommodating, and it's often packed with locals munching on pastries or having a leisurely coffee, so exchange a hello or two while you're there! The first time I visited, I didn't have much time to look around, but the second time afforded me a glimpse into why it's so popular with locals and tourists alike! Apart from the consistently wide selection of tea and coffee on offer, the coffeeshop is linked with a small store (Minglement) that incorporates not only produce and other household necessities, but also sells local artisan products, books, spices, even art. Do bear in mind that some of the cards, for example, you can only buy with cash as the artists swing by and pick up their earnings in cash. (And generally, I'd recommend carrying cash and change when you're on the island.) Both times I visited I had the standard latte. It is good. I am spoilt and not used to darker roasts anymore, so other than my preference, I'd say their coffee is solid. I have tried their cookies too (good!) but not much else. Suffice to say there's plenty to choose from both for food and drink, so give it a try when you're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I am so glad that I got to stop by this Roasterie on my trip to the island. This is the home of Seattle's Best coffee which is super cool. I was able to grab some parking around the back of the building and enter through the back of the roasterie. When I entered around 11am there was a delightful folk band playing which I was not expecting and which made the experience even cooler. It was pretty busy with people chatting and ordering coffee beans to take away. I ended up ordering a cappuccino so that I could taste some of their freshly ground beans, and I wasn't disappointed as the barista did a great job of making my cappuccino. I found the staff very friendly and I was able to sit on the front porch while sipping on my coffee and watching the world go by. Afterwards I decided to take a walk around their store which was a great experience browsing the locally produced goods they stock in the store. This is a great place to hang out for an hour and take in a piece of history from the island while sipping on great coffee.

Chris B.

Yelp
Excellent coffees, a few blends so good they'll wake you up just dreaming about them. Excellent service. Small shop, nice people. Pricey, but they're in the coffee business, yanno? Want cheap coffee, go to Safeway. Otherwise perfect store, minus one point (not one star) as the coffee I like doesn't come in K-cups.
google avatar

Asraa J.

Yelp
Very cute little cafe and local small market. Nice drinks and the staff were very friendly
google avatar

Carly R.

Yelp
I didn't know this is the place of where The Best Seattle's was born! It's amazing how they kept so many old vintage machines and cool pictures and painting in the store. Also lots of option for tea and dry herbs is a plus. Impossible to leave this place without something! The first time we were there it was late and they were closing so we couldn't try their coffee, instead had a Irish breakfast tea latte. It was awesome. Never had something like this before! We had London fog before around Seattle but never a specialty tea latte! Great great great stuff! So next time we went there with our family, we had their coffee and had another tea latte. Everything were great. Oh and that berry muffin and chocolate brownie-ish cookie was spot on. Great spot for tourists, for locals, and for anyone! I love this place, if I could just stay there all day one day it would be a greatest chill day for me. lol I wish something like this would be in Seattle! Such cool building with vintage items and theme. Recommended!

Susan R.

Yelp
I love this place! I was on Vashon Island for a whole week on vacation and I stopped by almost every day for coffee and fresh patries that were delivered to this little coffee shop. I love the Kombucha on top although I did not get to try all of their flavors. The pastries were probably the best thing. The staff are informative and friendly. Customer Service is great. I love the loose leaf teas that I picked up and I was told that I could even have orders shipped to my home once I've gone back home. I will missing those delicious pastries with my coffee every morning. I definitely look forward to coming back to Vashon just for the coffee shop.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Looks cute and smells good, but why shit down your espresso machine at 2 pm when you're open til 4. Never got to try the coffee so can't comment there.
google avatar

Matt T.

Yelp
If I lived on Vashion, this would be my local. They are a coffee Roaster and a cafe, with a gift shop and a bookstore tucked under the same roof. And HUGE selection of tea to drink there or take with you. The drip coffee is great and the cup bottomless. If you are a local, you get a coffee mug that hangs in the wall with your name on it. I want to be one of those cools kids! There is live music on the weekend, a piano for customers, all the local gossip, and I counted 4 chess sets out for you to play. The cafe is limited currently to deserts, but they are now fancy bougie almond crusted pain au chocolate, nope this are deserts you grandmother would have made you if you were hanging out with her all weekend. My wife and I LOVE their coffee, especially the Guatemalan Medium Roast. We take a ferry ride over every couple of months and buy 2 five-pound bags of the stuff.
google avatar

Tom E.

Yelp
Well worth the trip. Excellent latté. Their huge assortment of teas, spices, coffees fresh roasted on site, intrguing organic grocery and antique décor hearken of the general store of yesteryear. Just to browse here gives you a reminiscent feeling. The staff have that relaxed friendliness of island life, and the locals love to hang out here. Nice ambience, great coffee aroma, an amzing selection of loose teas, and several back rooms of organic groceries and sitting areas. Their limited selection of baked goods are always good. The staff remind me of everything that makes Vashon island nice - always willing to spend a little extra time, remake your drink if you're unhappy. Always a spare copy of today's paper lying around too.

Yelp
The Roasterie is a Vashon institution. I think the universe would implode upon itself, if ever there were a Vashon island without this Roasterie. Long before I ever moved to the island, I remember visiting as a tourist and appreciating the existence of this coffee shop. It breaths authenticity in a way that greater Seattle has largely lost. The act of getting a cup of "Front porch blend", out on the front porch (where the coffee is served) is almost like an island ritual. It's so pleasant to sit out on the porch and watch the islanders to by, or watch the rain come down. As the Roasterie continues on in time, it will need to navigate changing populations and culture, while it holds steadfast to some time-honored traditions. There is a ton of square footage in this facility that is underutilized. The interior layout of the place largely doesn't make a lot of sense, and could be reimagined a bit. Lately they have been experimenting with soup, and that's been cool. The place seems overall to lack a concerted food menu, and it's a bit of a missed opportunity. Particularly for residents of Maury and South Vashon, this could easily become the nearest place to get a snack.

Yelp
What an amazing stop on Vashon Island. They had a nice selection of home and even let us taste some. We bought several but the blackberry honey the best, in my opinion. Great selection of balsamic vinegar. We tasted them and bought some. It was great that they sold jars and we were able to pick the jar according to how much we wanted to purchase. Highly recommend this stop on Vashon.

Yelp
This is where Seattle's Best Coffee started, and they are still roasting the brand at this location! They blend a combination of organic, certified organic, fair trade and direct trade beans. They also have varieties of high-quality tea, many are custom blended by their staff. AND, they sell over 300 herbs, spices, organic groceries, local produce. This place is like a museum, full of history. Fell in love with this shop.

Yelp
It's ok. We went in the afternoon and the pastry is not as fresh. I had a better experience last year.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! Roasted on-site. This coffee shop is almost reason enough to move to the island. The people were awesome and gave us a tour explaining the history and the grinding and roasting process evolution. It is like a coffee museum with all the historic coffee machines and other items.

Yelp
Two Words: Mexican Mocha. It will change your life. Seattle made me a coffee snob. Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie ruined me for most other coffee shops. The whole place is like something out of Northern Exposure...or Heaven. I miss it. Highly Recommended.

Yelp
Delicious coffee! And getting to watch the roasting process adds a lot to the experience. The building is an architectural treat with the wood floors and high ceilings! Very much worth the ferry ride to the island!

Yelp
A local staple! A wonderful selection of tea, pastries, coffee and more! The attached Minglement also has a wonderful selection of groceries, such as farm fresh eggs and produce, as well as beans, bread, local honey and more. Pop in for a quick drip coffee or a seasonal special, like their Juniper latte. I love that one with oat milk!
