Vegan Grill

is hands down one of the best spots for plant-based comfort food! I’m not even vegan, but every now and then, I crave a good vegan chopped cheese, and their Impossible Chopped Cheese Melt did not disappoint. It was magically delicious—perfectly seasoned, melty, and satisfying. I customized mine with jalapeños and pico de gallo instead of tomatoes, and OMG, it took the flavors to the next level. Whether you’re vegan or just looking for a bomb meal, this spot is a must-try!

Fast food with quick and friendly service. I recommend the crunch-wrap suprême (i had the wholemeal wrap and impossible meat)

Our party of four selected different items on the menu and found all of them to be scrumptious. Ginger beer could have been a bit stronger but was still refreshing. Its a small establishment with very limited seating. We sat outside where there are two small tables wedged in a little nook next to entrance. Smaller, square tables might work better for this space given the limitations of space. Its worth noting that there are a few stairs to reach the entrance which would be difficult for elderly, disabled or stollers. Carry out might work best. I gave the service 2 stars due to complacent attitude and comment "I gave you napkins" when requesting an additional one. What mattered most was the food and on this point they delivered.

I ordered the crunch wrap, the soy buffalo wings, and French fries. Open late, which is a big plus. Everything was TOP NOTCH. Even tho I would have normally saved some of food for later, it was all SO delicious that I ended up housing it all. The crunch wrap was super fresh and light while being reminiscent of something from Taco Bell. The soy wings? Oh my god. Who could’ve known vegan wings could be so good, in fact BETTER than meat wings? Crispy on the outside, incredibly meaty and chewy on the inside. The fake bone is genius. The sauces were top notch also. The French fries were the perfect balance of crunchy and potato-ey. It was like they were air fried or something? Not dripping in oil and healthy tasting while being crispy. Delicious. My order came out to a whopping $40 but I’m not even mad. I’m so glad I discovered this place. As a former meat lover turned vegan, it’s crucial to find delicious alternatives, and this place hits the spot. Can’t wait to be back!

A large menu with many options - it’s a good option for a late night vegan food. Not the type of place for a date or dinner with friends. The crunch wrap is good but too much lettuce and mighty expensive

Recently opened, this place is running on pure sacrifice. This spot is a dream that was brought to life. The men running the show are truly dedicated and hardworking and it shows. I will admit, I am bias. I've followed their journey from their original location in The Bronx. This location has much more to offer than their other two locations. Indoor and eventually, outdoor dining options will both be available. Their menu is extensive - Serving up a little bit of everything. I had the pleasure of trying one of their creamy pasta dishes only available at this location, and it was absolutely delicious. The meal was satisfying & would you believe me if I told you it had vegan shrimp? I'll include photos below. Totally recommend. They've worked hard to get here & it is well deserved. Nicely done !!

We are visiting NY and staying in the East Village. I came across this cafe while searching for a vegan place nearby. This is a small space, but they make the most of it. Based on many great reviews I decided to try the crunch wrap and was not disappointed. It was DELICIOUS! In fact, I may go back today, since they have some great options that I would like to try. My husband is pretty picky when it comes to food, but he agreed it's a 5-star place. So from both of us you get a 10-star review. Thank you!

They always get our order wrong but the food is pretty good. Corn ribs are my favorite.

The food wasn't bad - I like that there are plenty of vegan proteins to choose from and lots of them could be gluten-free. I got the Just Egg omelette with some vegan cheese and veggies. (Forgot to tell them that I didn't want toast but I just didn't eat it.) Nice and filling, tasted decent (though could have used more seasoning or even just a bit of salt). Then I saw MOUSE run across the base of the wall. Yes, I get that it's probably difficult to avoid rodents in these older buildings even if you're not a restaurant. But it's made me hesitate wanting to go back.

Price Gauge! Keep an eye on the prices. Menu says $17 for a crunch wrap but it rang up $5 more. When I came in the cashier directed me to the menu. The price for a crunch wrap was $17. When She rang up the item it was $5 more. Legally the company has to sell the item at the listed price. I explained this to the cashier and she called her boss.. Aparently the price listed on the menu is the Uber Eats price as per her boss. This makes no sense.. plus a restaurant cant do a bait and switch with prices. Im going to file a complaint with the city.

Food was good. Service was terrible - as soon as we walked into the establishment we were greeted in a not so pleasant manner. She was dismissive when questions were asked and unprofessional. After patiently waiting for about 15 minutes, we realized the order was incorrect. At that point - we had already left. We proceeded to call and request a refund or to have the appropriate order made we were disrespected - told we were recorded and that we requested the wrong thing instead of them misunderstanding our request. We were belittled and told that it'd be remade if we pay for it - implying we weren't going to pay. This was a very sad situation as we traveled to try this restaurant Hopefully they work on their manners for future customers

This is a diamond in the rough of a gem little restaurant Hideaway on St. Mark's Place on the lower East side. They open 4 months ago. My husband had fillet a fish sandwich with onion rings. This sandwich has thousand Island dressing, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, on a soft bun. it was So delicious! I wasn't crazy about the onion rings but that didn't even matter. We both had root beer to drink. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and I picked spinach as my wrap. It had tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and sautéed onions and you could choose from a blue cheese vegan dressing or a ranch or barbecue. I had it with french fries as well. For dessert we had a vegan très Leche and I think it was the best I've ever had Vegan or not.! Everything on the menu looks delicious and the service is great! I look forward to going coming back again really soon.

The food at Vegan Grill is decent but overpriced. Paying $17 for a quesadilla feels excessive, even by New York City standards. Furthermore, their delivery service has proven to be unreliable. I once ordered delivery through DoorDash, and it was mistakenly delivered to the wrong location by their own courier. The process of getting a refund from them was a hassle. So if you're in the mood for Vegan Mexican food at a reasonable price, Raíz is nearby.

I had the vegan soy buffalo wings here. I liked the chewy texture, and the mock bone made of sugarcane was interesting. Portions were reasonable for $12. I just wish they had a bigger variety of sauces.

There are some yummy options, but definitely fast food. My favorite might be the crunch wrap since I'm a sucker for crunch. The fish sandwich was good. The chopped cheese sandwich was a little overwhelming but good. If you are more into taste over healthiness, then you will be satisfied.

Tried the crunch wrap and breakfast burrito and was disappointed. The crunch wrap felt really greasy and gave me a bit of a stomachache afterwards. The breakfast burrito was pretty good, but also felt heavy (I took a bite). Overall, it's all still tasty but not necessarily quite as healthy as it seems.

The cookies are some of the best I have had it's hard to believe they are gluten free! I tried the chicken shawarma platter which was out of this world. Spices were on point and the white sauce was delicious. I will never miss out of cart chicken and rice halal again!

These fees? Early on, I was into sampling everything on the menu, and figuring out favorites. Most everything was really delicious. These extra fees of late lead me to abort the order.

Did a pickup order and they gave me the wrong item. Ordered a Just eggs omelet and got a sandwich. The omelet is like a $1 more expensive so it's not a big deal I wasn't going to say any thing. I am just annoyed I picked it up and got home to see if it's a wrong order. And was not about to walk there again. The food was good but super expensive. $6 for tiny box of potatoes and $6 for small box of fries. Charges $5 for a croissant. $20 for chicken bowl. Just super overpriced for what you get but that's standard for this area I guess. The taste was good my sandwich was decent but tasted like the Starbucks breakfast ones. The chicken bowl had toppings but very few. Overall I would come here again but not too often cause it's expensive for what you get. And double check your order...

If you want fast food and you or someone in your group is vegan/vegetarian, this is the place. Everything I've tried here over the course of around 5 visits has ranged from good to great. On my last visit, I had a vegan fish sandwich, with the requisite tartar sauce and lettuce+tomato on a bun. Very tasty. Their "chicken" sandwich also hits the spot. Their large selection also includes chopped cheese, falafel, quesadillas, nachos, vegan mac&cheese, cookies and more. Truly, the menu is huge for such a tiny little space and I've never ordered something I didn't end up liking. I recommend getting the food to go. We've always eaten there, and that experience really depends on how busy they happen to be. Inside is close quarters and it seems like it's often partly occupied by people who are friends/family of the guy working there. Not a complaint, as the guy's service is always very good. He's been the one working the counter on all our visits. There are two outside tables on a small patio, and they seat three people each but it's a tight squeeze. It's the food from this hole-in-the-wall that makes it worthwhile -- they deliver on their promise of vegan fast food! Everyone can find something they'll like here, even non-vegans.

Vegan takeout by thompkins square park! Ok, so they have seating, but not a whole lot. I went at around 1 on a Saturday and there was one other person also ordering takeout so not sure if the seats fill up. They have milkshakes, breakfast options, burgers, wraps, and a make your own bowl option. I got the just egg imlette: you can pick 4 veggies, a protein, cheese, and bread options. Hearty and filling though a little expensive at $16. Wish they had coffee for breakfast! Omelette was filled up and whatever cheese they used was meaty, toast just lightly crisped. Good casual spot!

I'll start this review out by mentioning that I didn't bring my glasses with me and dangggg that menu was hard to read with that tiny az font jajaja. They also have like 100 things on there, and ya girl is an indecisive queen--so I went through a fair amount of stress before even ordering. That's a me problem though lol. I digress... I finally panicked and went for the chicken over rice, which was pretty fire, albeit expensive for what it was at $17 pre-tax + tip (especially compared to street cart halal). BUT, this is no street cart halal. I was surprised by how clean it felt. Wasn't greasy at all. As for the flavor, it was a bit on the sweet side--less savory than I thought it would be, but not in a bad way. Definitely a nuanced spice situation going on *chef's kiss.* I'm a bit of a maniac when it comes to hot sauce so I was LIVING for smoky, thick sawce they provided, and I think that was crucial to balance out the warmer, sweeter spices on the meat. Not sure I'd drop that guap on the same dish again, but I do want to try the chopped cheese another time. Would recommend if you're looking for some quick vegan comfort food in EV.

I'm giving Vegan Grill five stars because the one thing I've had--cauliflower wrap with a side of sweet-potato fries--far exceeded my expectations. I had been watching the space, because the signage has been up for a week or two, and this evening when I was coming home, I saw they were open. (Shhh! They're in soft-open mode.) They're two blocks from my home, so it was kind of a no-brainer to walk in. The place is spotless, masks are required, and they have an open kitchen where you can see the cook make your food--in mask and gloves. The menu on the wall was so voluminous, it's kind of hard to read, so I downloaded it on my phone. I brought it home and put sriracha ketchup on the fries; I love having vegan options so close to home!

The food is fine but the cashier was extremely rude. They got my order wrong and when I asked them to correct it she gave me attitude. I said it must have been a misunderstanding and she insisted that they recorded me. I just wanted tofu scramble.

Great food, I love the customer service. Very clean. A little small so don't plan a party there but the food is great! The menus a little overwhelming but that actually amazing how many options. I will definitely be back

wouldn't come here ever. We ordered two crispy chicken sandwiches and one sweet potato fries. We got the sandwiches with French fries and didn't get the sweet potato fries. The lady at the cashier said they actually charged less and we won't get the sweet potato fries. Crispy chicken sandwich is 15 dollars so total was 30 plus tax. So we paid 11 dollars for tax. She was very rude about it. I can't believe, people behave like this on thanksgiving.

Hands down the worst vegan spot in all of New York. Stay home and make a bowl of cereal and save your money. The cook needs to find a new profession, possibly professional scuba driver cause we need him off land. Come to my apt and I'll make you breakfast for a third of the price.

Delicious cauliflower wrap! Took a picture of the menu as it's HUGE! this was my first visit and there were people behind me so I had to choose fast. With this picture, take your time and select without worry. I'll definitely try different options next time I'm in the neighborhood. Service was great too!

I watched the guy take gum out of his mouth with his bare hands, grab a piece of pita bread and eat it, and then proceed to prepare food, with no hand washing in between. Not to mention, the breakfast burrito I ordered was categorically not a breakfast burrito lol

This place opened last year. Came here once with a coworker. They have pretty good falafels that I would come back and have again.

I had the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese w/ spinach, mayo and ketchup and a hash brown today and it was great! I like how it was presented and the taste was exactly what I was craving. I just think I'll continue to go to the one in brooklyn because the price difference is significant.

Delicious! So glad they added this location :)) so many options. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Go taste their yummy vegan meals and treats!

This place is amazing such an overloading menu I passed by several times finally went in tried the cookies to die for than shortly after grabbed dinner for my son the chicken over rice (halal food) it was so delicious upset I didn't grab my own and it's completely vegan you cannot tell I mean it it tastes just like it so good amazing customer service very nice team can't wait to come back

This is my new go to in east villags. Buffalo chicken wrap was massive and so so good - I'll be dreaming about it for months. Prices are reasonable too. It's not the speediest so expect to come a bit early.

Marwan at the front counter was awesome - super friendly and very helpful with deciding what to order. The Vegan Steak and Cheese is amazing. it's the best steak and cheese I have ever had, including prior to being Vegan and getting them on South Street in Philly. South Street can't hold a candle to these guys.

Meh. I was excited that a vegan cafe was opening in the neighborhood because we really need a casual take out vegan sandwich type spot. There are dozens of plant-based date night spots but no just cheap takeout. But their menu is fast food that should be cheap takeout except it's for dine in prices at a hole in the wall. Cheapest thing on the menu is a $10 plain burger. No cheese. No sides. $2 extra to "flame broil" the burger. The sandwich I got was unexceptional but fine and was $15. I get that Manhattan storefronts are expensive but I don't see this place staying open if they don't lower their prices or make their food significantly better. At least make a cheap lunch special. The have vegan breakfast stuff so if I go back it'll be to give that a try but honestly probably not going back. For $15 I can get a really good meal at V Spot down the block or a Thai restaurant.

I'm a regular and usually like the food, but they closed before 9:30 tonight when they are supposed to close at 10pm. The counter was blocked by the outside tables (which means that they shut down well before 9:30) even though the front door was still open and the "open" light was still on, and it is written on the door that they are open until 10pm. There is a new person working at the counter who was rude and lied, saying that they always close at 9:30. If this restaurant now closes at 9:30pm, the owners should change the advertised closing time of 10pm.

Paid $16 for an avocado salad with no avocado or cheese! The 2 most expensive items I assume I'm paying most for. Basically Just a tiny bowl of lettuce, tomato & onion. All which prob cost $1 total. Called them and they wanted to just give be a $3 credit. Sorry still not paying $13 for ingredients worth Pennie's. You can't totally leave on on the ingredient that makes the main course! So I had no protein and was starting an hour after I ate. I'll never return here. It's always something. They have kids working here and it appears no manager every time. Not a good way to run a business

I have been looking for a good vegan chopped cheese and this place has one! Fast service and very good food. Scratches the itch for bodega-style food

So good I had to come back the next day! First, the lady at the register is super sweet, lovely service. Ambiance is a little reminiscent of Veggie Grill. The food is SO GOOD! I had the bacon egg & cheese 2 days in a row, & the crunch wrap.

This place is 1 to 1 match for the halal guys in terms of chicken over rice but since it's plant based it's is 10 times better. Plus the menu is fully complimentary with each item working with and enhance the flavor experience. The chick'n over rice is going to be a New York staple in the near future l with their pancakes will set aunt jemima free and pay her reparations.

Restaurant is CLOSED. 3/26/22. Bummer. Wanted to try their food. Oh well. Please stay safe and come back!

Stumbled upon this hidden gem when another spot in the neighborhood didn't have vegan options. Vegan chopped cheese was delicious, my friends aren't vegan and enjoyed the food which was cool! Definitely added to one of my favorites in NYC ima come here for sure next time I visit. Shoutout to the family who owns this business!!

So it seems in less than 10 days the quality has gone down. Staff isn't the most attentive. They do not read special notes until after they make the order. They did call after the order was prepared only to state that they were unable to comply with any special notes and already made the food so they will not be able to cancel that portion of the order. To be fair, they did call less than 2 minutes before I was able to pick up the call. So maybe they can cook faster than sonic the hedgehog can collect rings. If you do order in future, please be aware they fail to read special notes, and if you have an allergy I suggest calling and reiterating that to the staff prior and post placing the order Additionally, the Mac and cheese is the most bland dish I've had in ages. I might as well eat sand, but even that would have more flavor.

I got the Buffalo wings and the Crunchwrap. The Buffalo wings themselves were good, but the ranch was the runniest consistency I've had ever had and it had almost no flavor. It was so watery it was bizarre. The Crunchwrap, which I ordered with the impossible meat, was good, but I wish it had sour cream and some type of cheese in it. I would try other menu items from them in the future to give them another try.

This place is bomb af! I been here with my girl 2 times within a 2 day period, and every time I've ordered it has been a burst of deliciousness! So far we've tried the chop cheeze, meatball sub, the Buffalo chik'n wrap and the nacho burger. Each time we've ordered its always been tantalizing and tasty. The staff and owner are really chill and they really give time and attention to their food prep. I 100% recommend this little hole in the wall vegan spot. Please show your support theyre brand new and they are a needed addition to city. Again, 5 stars all around. I will be taking pictures of the food next time!

I stopped here before a haircut this past Saturday. Just looking for something vegan and quick and this was a quiet, hole-in-the-wall spot. I wasn't expecting much so I was amazed by their giant menu and ordered the crunch wrap. OMG. I didn't know how much I had missed crunch wraps until I had one at Vegan Grill. It was huge, filling and had great ingredients plus it came out really fast. I will definitely be stopping by to try something else next time I'm in the EV!

The food here is amazing and the staff is very friendly! There are a bunch of options and everything I've tried is really tasty. Definitely try the milkshakes and chocolate chip cookies!

SO GOOD. Honestly didn't expect much as my girlfriend and I stopped by on a whim, but I was pleasantly surprised. They have plenty of options on their menu, and friendly service. I had the Beyond Meat Chopped Cheese, my girlfriend had a Buffalo Chicken wrap. Both were out of this world. Highly recommend.

The quesadilla was super delicious, cooked to the perfect temperature; great presentation and wonderful customer service. The bbq chicken wings were good also

Amazing and safe for both vegans and dairy allergy people. The crunch wrap is awesome! I've never been able to have that because of my dairy allergy, so this was super awesome to get to try and to not have any kind of reaction whatsoever!

Okay I consider myself a connoisseur of vegan B.L.T.A sandwiches and this place has absolutely knocked it out of the park! Delicious but not-too-much mayo, crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce. I ate this sandwich over two weeks ago and I still think about it. I truly wish I lived closer to be in their delivery range. I am going there today to get another BLTA--although I should probably try something else on the menu, which I'm sure is as delectable. Go here! Keep this place in business, if not for you then for me!
