We were excited to go here, but the service left us feeling disappointed immediately. It wasn't an inviting space, the food was over priced, the drinks were warm (their fridge wasn't working). The girl who took our order and who served us was aloof and lazy. We spent $55 for two people with two meals, an appetizer, and 2 drinks. Not worth it.

Google
I have been here many times and love it! The banh mis are quite good- love the SUN sauce and the apple and jalapeno that come on that one (you can get w/o jalapenos if desired). The pho are also good. All the soups are huge! Great toppings and sauce options. The plates are usually good although the quality does seem to vary between visits sometimes. Never been bad, just a question of good vs. truly excellent on the meat in the Lemon Awakening. They're pretty good at meat substitutes although you can also get tofu if that's more your style.

Google
After hearing rave reviews about this place, I finally went and was not disappointed. I got the lemongrass tofu bahn mi and it was delicious! So flavorful and unique. The server was very friendly. I will definitely be back!

Google
Support small businesses for your New Years Resolution. I'm newly obsessed with this place. The Eggplant Tofu and Spicy Lemon Awakening are Sooo good. I'm a vegetarian and I love it and my non-vegetarian husband likes it too! If you're craving fast-food Asian food, come here instead! They have quick service and you're supporting the local community!

Google
So yummy! Being vegan, it was a nice surprise finding this place while driving through. We have stopped a few times. I usually eat mostly fruit and veggies and not a lot of fake meat.. but they have done such a great job with all the different imitations. Displayed beautifully and colorful..lots of veggies. We shared a noodle salad and rice bowl. Healthy and yummy! The Mongolian and lemon grass, ocean delight are good. Thai tea..😋

Google
So, so, so good!!!! It's very affordable. I got an appetizer, main, and dessert for $15! I got the Bahn mi and my friend got the Tofu pho- both amazing! The vegan flan was good too (just wish it had a different sauce option to put on it for those of us that can't have coffee). I will be going so much more now that I've tried it

Google
Yummy Vietnamese vegan food at #veganSun Scored the #lemongrassTofuSpringRolls lovely and lite. Lots of lettuce, nice slice of cucumber. They are massive. Then enjoyed the #udonNoodle stir-fry combo which includes all their proteins. Great flavor, lots of fake meat, and fresh vegetables including broccoli, carrot, cabbage, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, onion, lime, and cilantro. I’m a huge fan of noodles so the Udon Noodles were a joy. I’m not vegan but do appreciate the lower carbon footprint and less water needed to create plant based foods. And really it’s about the sauce, You don’t miss the meat with good quality food and flavors. Will definitely visit again.

Google
Soo happy to have a vegan place so close to me, and I always loved viatnamese food. The atmosphere is laid back and modern, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. And the food is INCREDIBLE. Me and my wife have been here twice, we've had pho, udon stirfry, a noodle salad, and a lemon tofu rice dish and they were all incredible. The sun rolls and the Thai tea are also wonderful. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Absolutely loved our visit to this no-frills vegan spot with a fantastic variety of options! I honestly had a hard time choosing because everything looked so good--such a dilemma! We started with the fresh rolls, which were perfectly fresh and crisp. For my appetizer, I went with the vegan pho, and it was just the right size to share with my husband--delicious and comforting. My husband enjoyed the air-fried ramen, which was creatively prepared, while I had the lemon seitan with rice--both were flavorful and satisfying. We shared all our dishes and savored every bite. This place is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy a plant-based meal in a casual setting. The food was fresh, tasty, and thoughtfully prepared. Can't wait to return! (P.S. The pictures include the fresh rolls with dipping sauce, a hearty bowl of pho, and a flavorful plate of lemon seitan with rice--yum!)

Yelp
So so good!!! I e been trying to come here for months!!! But their hours never matched up with mine. Finally FINALLY we made it. I took my 3 big teens and they each liked it as well. The best part was we took some home to dad and he didn't even know it was vegan!!! And he wanted more. The building is on old Main Street and so cute. The ambiance is nice and updated and clean. The service was so kind and helpful! Offering us recommendations a more. I got the pho which was very flavorful and yummy! We took teriyaki beef home to my husband that apparently was FANTASTIC! And my son got the shrimp and ate the whole plate.... So great! We'd love to stop by again and again!!

Yelp
Vegan sun is exceptional, I hate that I crave it... it's just got "a flavor" that other Vietnamese places don't have. Always fast and the staff is so kind. Clean restaurant, and food to go is packaged well.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!!! Nice family owned place Love their lemongrass tofu banh mi as well as their ginger tofu. This was my first visit I can't wait to come back (again and again!) Their menu has really great choices!!! Next I want to try the combo udon stir fry and maybe a few appetizers I am a vegetarian- not a vegan Really like Vegan Sun!

Yelp
Awesome Vietnamese Plant Based Cuisine. Didnt expect you to find vegan food in Provo UTAH. Very flavorful and good portions. Must go when youre in provo or just passing through.

Yelp
Food was amazing. I am giving this 2 starts because the customer service was terrible. I have worked in restaurants and have to say the edict here was very disappointing. We arrived 30 minutes before closing. The young lady taking orders was short and rude. Not at all helpful when asked about the menu. Found myself have to ask for clarification repeatedly. We received our meals; about half way through she gave us a 5 minute warning And began doing her side work. We had to pack up our food instead of sitting and enjoying the rest of our lovely meal. Close your doors and allow the customer you chose to serve finish their meal. Otherwise, close your establishment earlier. Absolutely Absurd.

Yelp
Wow! Im a carnivore impressed! I reluctantly gave Vegan Sun a try when a co-worker suggested it but was very pleased. I had the stir-fry ramen combo and it was delicious! There was only one of their proteins that wasn't absolutely delicious the rest of the flavors amazing and it's definitely somewhere I will find myself coming back to. The service was fantastic and the cashier made several other great recommendations. Can't wait to try it all and take some of my friends I've given a hard time for being vegetarians but really there is something for even the meat eaters out there.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
I am not a vegetarian, but am a dedicated carnivore. If you are like me, don't let the word "vegan" chase you off, or you'll miss out on some of the best food Provo has. I tried this place because my son prefers vegan, and I have returned many times since then on my own Everything I've tried here has been wonderful. Beats me how they do it, but the meat substitutes look and TASTE like the real deal. The beef has the texture and taste of really good sirloin cuts. The chicken is delicious. I love the noodle bowls, and the banh mi sandwiches are phenomenal. The people are really nice and the service is quick. Don't let the word vegan chase you off if you're not vegan. This place is great.
google avatar

Yelp
They brought us edamame, that was either freezer burned or old. It wasn't edible. They didn't offer to give us a fresh bowl or return our money.

Yelp
We visited Vegan Sun yesterday when we were passing through Provo. Vegan Sun has two sister restaurants in SLC and all of them have similar menus with slight variations, but in my opinion Vegan Sun is the nicest of the three. They're all good, don't get me wrong, and serve very satisfying portions of delicious Vietnamese food, all plant based. They're absolutely my favorite places to eat, hands down, when I'm hankerin' for phō, banh mi, or just Asian food in general. But Vegan sun is just a little tidier, a little better lit, and a little friendlier than the other two restaurants. If you're passing by on the 15, take a bit of a detour to downtown Provo and check this place out. Prices are good, service is quick, and the food is delicious and entirely vegan.

April R.

Yelp
I am not vegan but omg this place is so good. The first time I went I probably went back 2 more times that week. I get the large bowl with broth and comes with bean sprouts Jalepenos lime on the side. The broth has so much flavor and I just love the portions on everything. It's usually very quiet and peaceful and such a cute hidden spot

Yelp
Vegan Vietnamese restaurant with a pretty impressive menu! I'm in town visiting my local friends and they aren't vegan and love this place. There is such a variety of options, sauces and meat substitute that your tastebuds will be delighted and probably not even miss meat for this meal. The flavor balance of the dishes we got were great. As a vegetarian, I'm was excited to try so many things and ultimately settled for Curry Warrior Rice which was amazing. If you like curry, you're in for a treat. We got the spring rolls which were good and on par to most. I'm definitely interested in trying the crispy rolls next time.
google avatar

Chai S.

Yelp
Food is pretty decent. Thai tea was really good. Flan had a coffee syrup...do they not know where their restaurant is at??? Cashier is a little rude or just weird.
google avatar

Pete J.

Yelp
In Provo for the week and stopped in for lunch. The food here is fantastic with Banh Mi sandwiches, stir fried ramen, noodle bowls, and much more. We got the stir fried ramen. The portion size was perfect for a big lunch. Choices for protein include tofu, bean curd, and vegan beef/chicken/ham/shrimp. This is a place we always visit when we are in town and wish we had a similar restaurant in the Boston area. It is a must while in Provo.
google avatar

A'Lissa O.

Yelp
I wish I could say I loved this place, but it didn't knock my socks off. I was thrilled to go to a vegan Vietnamese restaurant with so so so many choices. I mean six different types of fresh spring rolls alone! Alas, although there are endless options on the extensive menu, from pho to banh mi, to ramen to rice, the flavors did not wow me. The lemongrass tofu fresh spring roll had a really bad tasting cucumber in it that threw off the taste of the flavorful tofu. And the peanut sauce that came with it tasted nothing whatsoever like peanuts. I even asked the not-very-enthusiastic server about it thinking they had given me the wrong sauce. Nope. Just tasted like sugar. The tofu ramen stir fry Hassey nice presentation but was just a big bowl of so-so ramen noodles with some good tofu, mostly cabbage as the vegetable, and a salty soy-flavored sauce. The bbq beef bahn mi sandwich was the best of the lot with a flavorful non-meat and veggies on a warm, fresh bread. (Beware the jalapeños.) The atmosphere is nothing great. Cheap tables and chairs, one strand of Christmas lights. You order at the counter. Get your own water and napkins. They deliver the food and utensils. You clean up your dishes. Worth the price? No. Was I satisfied with the meal? No. Will I return? No. Am I glad there is a vegan restaurant on Center Street in Provo? Yes.

Yelp
Vegan Sun is simply so amazing! They've never disappointed, and they've got a good variety of options, and very fair prices. The food is flavorful and always has beautiful presentation. My party got veggie spring rolls, a teriyaki rice bowl, and the house special pho. 5 star reviews across the board! The owners are always so kind and helpful every time I come in. Absolutely recommend it to anyone.
google avatar

Cole D.

Yelp
Bland, nothing super flavorful, wasn't super hot when it came out, so then it was cold faster. Nice service tho and not terrible. But I think pho Plus is better down the street. Went on a date here and there prices are reasonable. I love pho and it's needed in winter. The dish didn't come with a spoon. I also feel like I had to bug the waiter/desk lady a lot for water, utensils, and other things. Overall, ok. I got the regular pho and the tofu was really good surprisingly. Plenty of toppings on top of the pho.

Breana C.

Yelp
Their food is soooo good!!! My go to is usually the bbq banh mi and it is soo delicious. I also totally recommend the buffalo drumsticks, potstickers, spring rolls, eggplant rice dish, thai tea (they use coconut milk so you can taste that coming through) and the udon noodle soup! The only thing I've tried here so far that I don't like is the spicy lemon awakening rice, but that's because it had a super concentrated lemony taste and it's also kind of got a sweet spicy thing going on. If you like lemon and a sweet/spicy balance you would probably really enjoy this. their prices have definitely increased since they first opened so it can be a bit expensive depending what you get but in my opinion it's worth it. They are genuinely really nice, and the service is usually pretty quick. I love that they have some outdoor seating, and the lighting inside is dimmer which allows lots of natural lighting to come in. Overall I seriously recommend vegan sun to anyone!!

Yelp
Stoped on our way west from Denver to Northern Cali and needed a clean meal. Road tripping can be tough on the guts. The gal at the order desk was kind and helpful. Service was quick and food was great. I didn't take many pics as there are many already posted.
google avatar

Kaylynn Y.

Yelp
My husband LOVES this place. He loves that he can order anything in the menu and feel zero guilt. His favorite thing to order is the pho. I loved the udon stir fry and I'd definitely get it again (without all the imitation meat). I'd highly recommend the "crispy rolls" - get at least one order (4 rolls) because they are DELISH.

Rebecca G.

Yelp
We had to get takeout while out at an event and were so thankful that Vegan Sun was nearby and open! I got the gluten free Teriyaki Noodle salad while my partner got Lucky Lemongrass Rice as well as the vegan nuggets. The nuggets were okay but they're the same as any other vegan nuggets you could elsewhere. The actual main dishes were filling with generous portions and plenty of fresh vegetables. We felt light and satisfied after the meal. My boyfriend also bought a banh mi for the next day and it was delicious after it was kept overnight in the fridge. Definitely recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
While I'm not ever blown away by the food, I'm so glad there is a place with so many vegan options. The atmosphere is nothing special but the owner is very kind and the location is perfect. There's a little fridge with various desserts and Asian drinks which is fun. They also sell some vegan snacks at the front counter. As for the food, I have tried the vegan chicken wings, banh mi, spring rolls, rice dishes and the stir fried ramen. It depends on what I'm feeling, but generally the ramen and banh mi are my go to. The apple slice and fresh jalapeño on the banh mi add a great crunch and spice to the sandwich and the bread is delicious. The fake meat is very impressive and for some reason, the chips they serve with the sandwich are way better than any other restaurant chips. Like... they have no business being that good. The stir fried ramen is kind of a big pile of noodles and fake meat and veggies so it gets a little old after finishing half the plate, but it is a lot of food for the price. The fresh lime is a nice touch too. One time ordered fries - nothing remarkable. Tasted frozen. The chicken wings however are delicious. Once again, I don't usually go out of my way to pick this place but my girlfriend loves it and I'm always pleasantly surprised by the food. Glad to support them and will keep them in our rotation!

Yelp
Loved the delectable lunch we experienced in Provo. We had the vegetarian Banh Mi sandwich and the vegan satay Pho noodle soup. The food and uber kind owners would command a loyal following in L.A., but this vegan is in Provo, Utah. Delightful! We would come here again on our next trip to Utah. Thanks for a delicious and delightful cruelty-free meal! Xin cảm ơn, Anh Chi!

Morgan C.

Yelp
My go-to spot near me. I have yet to have anything there that wasn't 10/10. My non-vegan husband loves it too
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Absolutely the best vegan restaurant in Utah country. Incredible variety of delicious food with an incredible variety of meat substitutes. Portions are good and the dishes are filling.

Yelp
Delicious and METICULOUS! Really enjoyed our vegan lunch at this super clean spot. DON'T forget to grab a bag of the *spicy vegan jerky, an absolutely incredible treat! We got the tofu fried ramen and the house pho. Generous portions, the ramen was really great. We asked for a side of hot sauce. Owner ? gal was so sweet, glad we chose this place. Trying to vote with our dollars by supporting independent 100% VEGAN businesses during this difficult year.

Yelp
As a vegan, this location caught my eye when driving down Provo's Main Street. The cleanliness of the location was spot on when entering and I loved how many options and dishes were on the menu. Good pricing and amazing portions! The food was served to us quickly and our meals were flavorful and delicious! My personal favorite on the menu is the teriyaki bahn Mi but if you are looking for a gluten free option, the phnom Pehn noodle soup is delicious! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, vegan or not.

Ponti S.

Yelp
An all vegan establishment offering Vietnamese cuisine in downtown Provo. Everything I ordered was delicious. The Sun Bahn Mi and Eggplant Tofu rice dish definitely were my favorite.
google avatar

Jared T.

Yelp
We will definitely be back! My wife is unable to have dairy due to our newborn son being allergic, so date nights have been rough trying to find a place to eat. It never occurred to me to try looking for a vegan place and Vegan Sun is where we landed! The service was friendly, we got our food rather quickly for a Saturday night, and my God was it delicious! It's so reassuring and a good feeling knowing that great food can be made without animal by product. This will now be our go to spot. Loved it!
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
Phenomenal vegan restaurant in the heart of downtown Provo. The food is delicious even if the atmosphere it's less than exciting.
google avatar

D R.

Yelp
I'm vegetarian and from CA. The first couple months after moving here were rough, but then I found Vegan Sun and knew I'd be able to make it through grad school! LOL! I've yet to hear complaints from any friends, but I have almost always gone with bahn mi and BBQ fresh rolls. SO good and affordable even on a student budget. This place reminds me of a little hole in the wall in San Jose, CA that I adore, but Vegan Sun actually has a cute dining area that's totally appropriate for families and friends to sit down and eat. Nothing fancy and no frills. Mostly mind your own table and drinks/silverware/etc., but perfectly pleasant. I'm SO happy there's a great veggie place in the area and one that I can afford to patronize regularly. Thanks, Vegan Sun!
google avatar

LeAnn B.

Yelp
I ordered lucky lemongrass rice with lemon chicken and it was so good! The portion was huge and their prices are good. Will be back!

Patty S.

Yelp
Excellent customer service. The food was delicious and big portions. Great gluten free options. I got the gluten free Lemongrass Tofu Noodle Salad and the gluten free Ramen Stir-fried with Chick-free Slices. Sooo delicious! Thank you!
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
So much flavor! High quality ingredients, friendly staff - one of my favorite restaurants to eat at when I'm in Provo!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful Vietnamese vegan restaurant! We ordered Bean curd rolls, dumpling soup, stir fried Ramen with shrimp. Food quality very fresh and taste was really delicious with nice blend of hot spicy, tangy flavors. Kudos to the team for their excellent authentic vegan food service!
google avatar

Aly S.

Yelp
We love this place! The people are super nice & restaurant is cute. Good prices & super tasty food! We love the veggie crispy rolls starter & how stinkin good does that $6 kid meal look?!?! Such a great portion size & looks so fancy! I got the BBQ Bahn Mi for the first time today & it was great as well! Last time we got the Pho soup & it's super good if you like Pho. They've got filtered water machines too! Come try it out or order to go for supporting a great local family owned restaurant!
google avatar

Amelia B.

Yelp
Great spot for yummy Vietnamese. The marinated tofu was perfect! Wish they had more hours but they're a fave!

Kade M.

Yelp
Overall just meh. It's expensive for food that honestly isn't much different than the quality of something I'd get from Walmart. I got the stir fried bean curd ramen, my wife banh ni, and it was just essentially in a cheap grocery store baguette that was cut open. Neither actually tasted Vietnamese. As for the ramen, it was cheap thin ramen noodles in some sort of soy sauce stir fry. If I was vegan looking for a meat substitute, the bean curd stir fry's meat substitute was actually good tasting for not being meat. It was almost like a rough teriyaki soyish pulled pork and wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. They thee in quite a bit of lettuce too, so it was a weird stir fry. Not Asian at all, as someone who grew up for some of my high school years there. The place is nothing special on the inside and service was just fine, although they just point you at a table number to sit at after you order at a counter. The overall ambiance is just cheap restaurant, but unfortunately the food really isn't super cheap. Maybe it's just because I'm not vegan, and I don't know how hard it is to cook vegan meals, so maybe having that option is nice for some, but as a non-vegan who enjoys vegan food from time to time, it was pretty disappointing. The food was subpar, and I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone as it is right now. I've been to other vegan places and found it much better flavor wise PS: don't get the vegan jerky they have up front. I got the spicy jerky and it tasted like gingerbread and felt like soggy cardboard. It was probably the nail in the coffin.
google avatar

Olive B.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Omg! I think this location is even better than Vegan Bowl!!! Wow! We had the Lucky Lemongrass Rice, Bean Curd Pho, Pot Stickers, and French fries ^-^ So happy an all vegan place came to Utah county! Thanks for being your business here!
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Great vegan restaurant with wide variety of choices and great portions. They have fresh ingredients, many different vegan meat substitutes with fresh and bright flavors that makes the taste of all the dishes extremely satisfying. The service is always excellent and fast. I'm a big meat eater, but I still love to visit this restaurant from time to time for a different dining experience.
google avatar

EM W.

Yelp
We were driving through town and stopped here for dinner. We ordered the house special pho, the tofu pho, the crispy rolls, the bbq Bahn mi and a kids ginger tofu. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. My son loved his bbq bag Bahn mi sandwich so much he said he wants to make a special trip back to Provo just to have the sandwich again. We are so thrilled we found this place! It was seriously some of the best food on our whole 11 day trip!!
google avatar

Betsy C.

Yelp
I have patronized vegan sun on several occasions now and am always pleased with the food! I always recommend it to visitors who appreciate good Vietnamese and exciting meat alternatives. I am always amazed that their barbecue bahn mi is vegan, it's so delicious. I also love to get a vermicelli salad with tofu. Even my meat lover husband enjoys this place. Very glad that Vegan Sun has made a home in Provo. Looking forward to my next lunch there!
google avatar

Emma Ruth B.

Yelp
Love this place! Everything I've had here I've liked, and I've been maybe six or seven times and tried some of my friends' stuff too. I like the lemongrass tofu options
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The best gluten-free food ever honestly. Highly recommend this restaurant. The place is just full of good vibes!
google avatar

Dan T.

Yelp
Adorable vegan Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of downtown Provo--definitely try the house special pho and the noodle salad. Both healthy options with huge serving sizes. Really friendly and helpful staff if you need help navigating the menu but, really, it's the food that is the star at Vegan Sun (get it? The sun is a star haha). While Salt Lake doesn't lack in veg-friendly restaurants, it's such a breath of fresh air for Provo. Bon appetit!

Trieste B.

Yelp
This is a great vegan restaurant. The food was delicious! Great customer service, too. It wasn't busy at all, and the restaurant was a nice, quiet place to enjoy our food. Would definitely recommend
google avatar

Regan P.

Yelp
This place has some of the best food in all of provo. Super fresh and super yummy for vegans and vegetarians. Love this restaurant and go here often!
google avatar

Julie G.

Yelp
Wow! I really loved coming here and eating some veggie rolls. I love the quiet ambience and the great service.

Savannah N.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened! COVID 19 is going on right now so I called in to order. I looked over the menu and there were so many options I couldn't pick. I'm very indecisive lol. I asked for recommendations and got the two things the girl recommended and we were really happy with them. I was wanting something fresh and he was wanting something meaty so the Lemongrass Tofu Noodle salad and BBQ Banh Mi sandwich fit us perfectly. So incredibly fresh and light fresh flavors. It was very clean inside and the cashier was very sweet and complimented what I was wearing. When I'm in downtown Provo I definitely plan on coming back :)
