Overall, Velvet Taco delivers on taste, creativity, and service. Whether you’re a taco enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to grab a bite in Lincoln Park, this place won’t disappoint!

I absolutely love going to Velvet Tacos! The paneer tacos are fantastic and always hit the spot. As vegetarians, my wife and I would appreciate a wider variety of vegetarian taco options, but we still enjoy what they have. I really miss the falafel tacos—they were excellent. We always indulge in their guac and chips, along with their delicious cheese quesadilla. Velvet Tacos is a favorite for a reason!

We just rolled out of Velvet Taco in Lincoln Park! Absolutely delicious tacos with big, bold flavors! The vibe is fun, the music is great, and the lady who took our order was super friendly and helpful — the cherry on top of the taco experience! We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. 🌮✨

This place needs to win an award for their brisket tacos! Awesome. The sauces rock for their unique spice / smoke profile.

As a taco lover, this place had been on my list for quite some time, and I was excited to finally give it a try. With a menu packed with creative and bold flavor combinations, I knew this would be a meal to remember. The first taco of the night was the Picnic Chicken taco, which offered a completely different yet equally satisfying experience. The rotisserie chicken was incredibly tender and packed with savory depth. The avocado crema added a silky richness, complementing the chicken perfectly. However, the warm honey-dijon potato salad. Its subtle sweetness and tangy kick made it feel like a complete, satisfying meal all on its own. Crispy chicken skin brought an irresistible crunch, while fresh cilantro added a bright note. All of these flavors came together in a soft flour tortilla, creating a perfectly balanced and unforgettable bite. Next came the Buffalo Chicken taco, and it was an absolute winner. It stole the show with its bold flavors and perfect texture balance. The crispy tenders were coated in a tangy, house-made buffalo sauce that provided just the right amount of heat. The sauce clung to the chicken, ensuring every bite was bursting with spicy flavor. Thinly sliced carrots brought a refreshing crunch, while the blue cheese crumbles added a sharp, creamy contrast to the heat. The ranch crema helped mellow out the spice with its cool, smooth texture. Wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, every bite was an explosion of flavor, spicy, creamy, and tangy, all working together in perfect harmony. The buffalo sauce paired with the cool ranch crema and bold blue cheese made this taco an undeniable favorite. The added crunch from the carrots and the crispy tenders elevated the experience to perfection. This taco wasn’t just good—it was crave-worthy, the kind of meal that stays with you long after the last bite.

I could not believe the flavor of my tacos They were delicious. They were filling. The queso and chips best ever. I recommend.

Good food. Ordered fried paneer taco, beer battered cauliflower taco, and mexi-cali shrimp taco. The order took a little bit of time to be made during a time when barely anybody else was in the restaurant. Nevertheless, clean place with colorful vibes located at an intersection.

Yelp
We met our daughter and son-in-law here for some delicious guacamole, chips and tacos! Very relaxed rustic atmosphere. You order at the counter or you can order on your phone and then they call your name to pick up. We had a wide variety of tacos between the four of us. Roasted chicken, cauliflower, tofu... Etc. everyone loved their tacos and the guacamole was delicious. Super grateful that they have gluten-free options. We have been to other velvet tacos in the city. They are all great .

Yelp
I'm not really sure how to feel about this place. The menu is pretty all over the place so there is a ton of stuff to choose from. Obviously "Taco" is in the name of the restaurant but when you get in there and look at the menu, you think you're ordering something completely different. I'll attach a photo so you know what I mean. Anyway I digress... Since all of the Tacos are so different I'll just do an item by item breakdown of what I got and my thoughts Chimichurri Steak (Taco) - 2/5 For a steak taco, this one was pretty... bleh. It was like $6.50 and didn't have that much meat on it, mostly filled with rice. The flavors were alright but mainly just found myself drowning it in hot sauce to get it down. Korean Fried Rice (Taco) - 3/5 This one was actually pretty good. I'm a sucker for Korean fusion so I had to order this one. Flavors worked really well in this one and was really loaded up with meat. Wish it was a bit heavier on the Gojuchang! Spicy Tikka Chicken (Taco) - 5/5 I was shocked by this one lol. I kind of just ordered the one that seemed the silliest just to try it so I went with this one. (Looking back on it, the chicken and waffle one might be sillier). Anyway, this was hands down the best one. Was skeptical about the fried chicken in Tikka sauce but it worked. Sauce was really good too and tasted great with the cream and the basil. Should've got 3 of these Bonus: Margarita - 0/5 Don't know if there was any alcohol in here at all. Tasted like bad limeade from concentrate. No salt on the rim either which was disappointing as it was in the picture on the window! Chips and Salsa - (-)1/5 I almost spit out the salsa, not necessarily because of the taste, but because it was served hot. Basically tasted like I was shoveling Spaghetti sauce onto a chip. Maybe this was a mistake, or I am uncultured, I'm not sure. But - definitely not my style and I couldn't get over it. Absolute waste of $5 in my opinion Mexi-cali Shrimp Taco - Pops scores this one a 3/5, he said the shrimp were overcooked but the flavors were pretty good Suggestion: A suggestion I have for this place is to embrace the different types of tacos more by having more condiments available to add to the tacos. For example, they'd are serving a Korean Fried Rice taco, my main complaint was I wished there was more gojuchang sauce on it, they should have a wall of sauces from each cuisine-type they make tacos for. Gojuchang for the Korean taco, chutney for the Tikka taco, etc. Could be a cool idea. Also, this place is just way too expensive. 6 bucks for a taco seems absurd tbh. I am definitely going to come back to try a couple more of their unique flavors out of curiousity, but I will NOT be getting another margarita!!!

Yelp
Definitely not at all your classic tacos, but as someone who enjoys fusion food I liked this place. The Indian tacos are quite fun. I liked the chicken tikka and the paneer a lot. One of my favorites was probably the Nashville hot tofu though. Really surprising and unique! The chimichurri steak was just ok. Any "classic" tacos here just taste sub par compared to an authentic taco spot. The tortillas are all pretty basic and raw flour tortillas which I wish were a little better. The service was a little slow, but they do have the late night thing going for them.
google avatar

Yelp
Velvet Taco is a unique establishment with plenty of wacky taco varieties to test and try. I had a tikka chicken taco and I don't think I've seen anything like that anywhere else. Critically, they also have blue tortilla chips which slap. Lastly, they have a unique margarita/sangria combo that is pretty unusual but it's worth a try.

Yelp
I love velvet taco. I've been here multiple times and I'm never disappointed. Except! I was surprised when I ordered the hot nashville tofu taco. This is usually my favorite taco, I get it every time I come here. I think they changed the recipe!! It used to be fried tofu smothered in an oily hot sauce that would leak alllll over the place. This time it was a powdered hot flavoring. Why?!! Where's the sauce?! I also ordered the fried fish taco, which came with a yellow curry sauce that I really liked. I love their selection of vegetarian tacos - I've tried all of them and they're all great. They get creative with the flavors which I appreciate. I usually order two tacos and can barely finish them because they're pretty stuffed! The place is cute and modern, order at the counter and sit anywhere. Perfect for on the go! Or they have a patio to eat as well.

Yelp
I didn't really know what to think about a taco chain from Texas in Chicago. They are friendly upon walking in, took my order and called my name very quickly. The place had plenty of tables and stool seating, so I'm not exactly sure if it ever gets packed in here. Since this place is a Texas chain, I knew I had to try their Chips & Queso. I knew they couldn't possibly get this wrong. And I was right. The queso was very delicious, and served with purple tortilla chips. As far as the tacos, I wasn't trying to over eat and there were a few that caught my eye. I ultimately ended up ordering their Buffalo Chicken taco. A chicken tender soaked in Buffalo sauce and then topped off with pieces of danish bleu cheese, ranch crema, carrots, celery all in a flour tortilla. The Buffalo chicken was delicious. It was acidic with and a tad bit spicy. Overall, I was really impressed with Velvet Taco. It's not a traditional authentic taqueria with Mexican tacos, but they are Tejanos after all. They like their flour tortilla down there. This Mexican gets their taco stamp of approval though. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is a review for drinks and their elote guacamole only since we didn't try their tacos. We were wandering around the area when a crave for some frozen marg hit me, and there they were, right on the corner in front of us! We ordered a frozen marg swirl and a ranch water, but they said we had to order some food with our order, so we added the elote guac. Our order came out quickly, and everything was tasty. They didn't skim on the alcohol in the drinks. Just the right amount! The restaurant itself was clean and bright with fun accent colors. The only reason why I took 1 star is the fact that we couldn't get drinks only. Anddd, that's a wrap. Cheers!

Yelp
Stopped in on a Saturday around 6:30pm. The place was popping! Waited in line to order for about 10 minutes (but just fyi- you can grab a table first and scan the QR code to order on your phone!) Food- tacos were amazing. A ton of different options to choose from. I order the Korean Rice and Mexi Shrimp Tacos- 10/10. Flavorful and super tender. Curry queso- 7/10. Chips were salty and fresh! Margaritas refreshing and not super strong. 4/5 stars only because of how small the place is!! A couple of tables and bar tops but very crowded. Good luck if you come here with a group bigger than 4!

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon Velvet Taco while shopping at Suit Supply, and boy, were we in for a treat! Despite the initial underwhelming vibe from the interior, the food at Velvet Taco completely turned our experience around. The tacos were nothing short of delicious. And let's talk about those margaritas! SO GOOD!!! We couldn't resist trying the red velvet cake, and it was an absolute winner. Super yummy and the ideal sweet ending to our meal. Don't let the modest interior fool you; Velvet Taco is a gem for tasty eats and fantastic drinks. We left with happy taste buds and a newfound appreciation for this hidden gem!

Yelp
I really can't think of much wrong to say. Since pretty much EVERY taco I've ever tried here, has been very decent. And usually service wise, this location usually moves the line a little quicker than the other 2 Velvet locations in Chicago. That said, I think the employees were decent at all of their locations. The only way I think this location could improve, is that I wish it closed later than 1am on Friday and Saturday nights, and later than 11 on other nights. That aside, you can't go wrong going here.
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
Delicious! The flavor combinations were excellent for all the tacos we selected. The mexi-cali shrimp and fish n' chips tacos were so full of flavor - my taste buds were so happy. I highly recommend you try these two. My friends ordered a few different tacos and all enjoyed theirs as well. They also have decent blended margs - I wasn't a huge fan of the salt rim, but that's a personal preference. You can order using a QR code at your table or you can walk up to the counter and place your order. When it's ready, they'll call your name at the front. Either way, it's a quick & efficient process. I'd definitely come back!
google avatar

Katherine K.

Yelp
I'm glad I read the reviews first and got their sauces on the side because they drown their tacos. My friend and I split their queso, which was okay. Nothing special and I wouldn't get it again. I got four tacos because I couldn't decide: Mexi-Cali Shrimp, Buffalo Chicken, Chicken & Waffle and Beer Battered Cauliflower. My favorites were definitely the buffalo chicken and the beer battered cauliflower. The buffalo chicken had the perfect amount of heat and I loved their add-ons (minus the sauce which I didn't try). The cauliflower was cooked perfectly and I loved all the flavors they gave me. It was very well-balanced. The mexi-cali shrimp was very bland and the only thing I liked was the shrimp; their add-ons didn't enhance the flavor at all. I was most excited to try their chicken & waffle taco, but it was cinnamon based and I hate cinnamon! I really wish they would've written that in the description because it completely ruined the entire taco for me. Even though I only liked half of my tacos, I'd still come back to try some of their others. I love the variety and originality they provide.

Yelp
Velvet taco is great--late night, midday, it's gonna slap. And Jalysa and the rest of the staff are always very welcoming and On It™. 10/10 will be a regular.

Yelp
Very impressed with the chicken tenders and food came out quick and hot, fun place to hang out
google avatar

Yelp
So disappointed, I ordered Eloté and chips, which I get sometimes from Velvet Taco specifically, and the corn was burned. Tasted horrible, the absolute worst elote I have ever had.
google avatar

Josalyn M.

Yelp
My husband and I loves some velvet taco! He discovered this place through a recommendation from a colleague. That was an awesome co-worker! My hubby's favorite is the chicken tikka masala which he orders two every time. I pretty much like everything on their menu. I do not eat beef or pork anymore but when I did those items were a hit! My go-to's now are the Nashville hot tofu and Paneer. You can never go wrong with an order of tots or elotes! You must try or order a slice of the red velvet to go! My husband always orders his self a slice to-go. He eats that with a glass of milk. He loves the cake some much he does not share! Velvet taco is where we go to have an expensive taco treat!

Yelp
lovely lovely place to be. whether it's after drinking munchies or you just want a cute upbeat date spot, i loved that i was recommended to velvet taco i'm sorry i didn't get photos of the food but i hope you know we just enjoyed every single bite of what we had so what we ate: #17 chicken and waffles taco #7 cuban pig #15 salmon taco #16 fish and chips tacos and the tots with an egg every bite. every flavor. every single taco and appetizer was so good. i will say their cuban pig taco was a the weakest of the 4 so i can't say i'd recommend that one. but the other 3 were flavors i never thought would work so well on a taco. the killer was the tots with egg. i could gone on with how much i could rave about the food. but trust the photo of the empty plate that we absolutely f***ed this food up. so yummy and so delicious. thank you staff of velvet taco for curing the hangover that's about to occur tomorrow.

Bri M.

Yelp
BEST TACOS IN CHICAGO. I absolutely hate Chicago (moved here from WI) and this taco joint has singlehandedly kept my heart alive while I've lived here the past year. Moving back to WI tomorrow. Paying my respects to Velvet Taco for preserving my heart fire in this dreadful city!
google avatar

Yelp
I always order from this location and it never disappoints . Getting food from here takes a little while (45-60 min) so keep that in mind when ordering . I could eat their steak tacos & elote every day , the chimichurri taco , brisket and chicken tikka are also awesome
google avatar

Jarrod J.

Yelp
Bomb ass bacos!!! BAB AND FUN MUSIC 5/5 smack rating From bottoms up here are my tacos FISH AND CHIPS- good tangy mustard sauce on top, sizzling fish tenders! SCRIMP N GRITS - love it because of the idea! Corn wasn't my favorite for this, but bomb.com THE PICNIC- hella avocado, rice on bottom, and smothered in sauce. Shmack ROTISSERIE CHICKEN- finger lickin, flavorful, loved the corn with it. Queso was perfect on that taco, warm and delicious!! TIKKA CHICKY-favorite one surprisingly! Méxi twist with a good masala! I loved, tried to find Indian and I found it in a taco! Yay! Green Chile Pork- She cute, forgot I ate it! Still slaps.

Yelp
Stopped in for some guacamole and chips and washed them down with a Sangrita Swirl. Both were outstanding!

Yelp
This place was so good. Good fast food tacos. They have so many unique and different tacos you can order. I had the shrimp tacos and they were delicious. We also got the 30oz frozen margarita to go and they come in 4 bottles. Everything was so good and very well priced. We also ordered online and received free chips and queso. Perfect for big groups.

Yelp
Sharing my experience tonight. I ordered directly from the restaurant since generally that's the best way to support restaurants and help maximize profits for them. After my experience, I'd recommend that anyone ordering delivery goes directly through Door Dash app if you would like to have order support and customer support. My "order" arrived a half hour late. The order I received was not mine and was not vegetarian/pescatarian friendly which is why I chose this restaurant. I called the restaurant multiple times and no one picked up. I called Door Dash and was on hold with them for 40 minutes. They could not go back to the restaurant because they had marked the order delivered. The restaurant called me 2 hours later and told me they realized their mistake and could not deliver my food because they work with Door Dash for delivery. The restaurant offered for me to pick it up, however that wasn't a feasible option for me. I'm hopeful to at least get a refund.
google avatar

Megan F.

Yelp
Loved the selection of tacos! Would definitely recommend this place. I got the Korean fried rice and beer battered cauliflower. Loved how light the cauliflower taco was and heads up the Korean fried rice taco can get a little messy with how saucy it is but it was delicious nonetheless!
google avatar

Ali M.

Yelp
We loved our tacos. This is definitely fast food but it was really fresh and the flavor combos are super unique and tasty. The tacos are pretty big but the prices are a little steep for the fast food environment. 6 tacos cost $40. Also the staff are a little cold. They definitely aren't going out of their way to be warm and welcoming. Overall though they are some of the best tacos I've tried in the area.
google avatar

Steve J.

Yelp
Maddie and Ivan are amazing servers. We came here for my daughters birthday and they were great. They went above and beyond. I asked so many questions and they were more then happy to help. Great customer service! And the food was just amazing. We had 6 tacos all better then any tacos ever and unique. The cake was great the quéo was better then anywhere. The drinks were yummy and strong. Nothing but good things to say can't wait to come back. Sweet chilli shrimp taco was a surprising favorite. Try it.
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
Fun little spot to grab some quick tacos! You are able to order at the counter, so it's a pretty casual setting. The menu has a vast array of tacos. I tried the paneer taco and Mexican-Cali shrimp taco. Both tasted good! They didn't blow me away in terms of flavors, but they are very unique and I enjoyed my experience there!
google avatar

Yelp
Omg yessssssss I'm a Taco fanatic and also vegan and I absolutely love love love they're Cauliflower taco that shit hit so good ugh to bad it's in Chicago I also love the don't close till 4am I just want to go back for tacos lol

Yelp
I really enjoyed velvet taco! Glad they opened a new location, their tacos are so tasty. My favorites are the spicy tikka chicken, the Korean Pork, the slow roasted angus brisket, the Nashville hot tofu, and the chicken and waffle. I also think their chips and queso is good, but for the price I think I tend to get another taco instead. The Nashville hot tofu I thought was chicken until my friend corrected me haha. But those aforementioned tacos are so good and definitely my go-to tacos here. One disappointment was the elote. Nothing special, too cheesy. Not great flavor. I love elote usually and I hate that it was mediocre. Oh well. The shrimp and grits taco was okay. I was hoping it would be better as I love shrimp and grits but in their taco, it wasn't seasoned well and there wasn't really much creole flavor and the grits were mediocre. Really wanted to like that taco more. But this place is really good, just a few disappointments but I am nitpicking. Will come back often!
google avatar

Kelsey K.

Yelp
We were visiting from Minnesota and this placed looked pretty interesting. I got a very young, hip vibe coming from here based on the verbiage and how weird all the tacos were. Of course you're in chicago so parking can be hell and back. We had to walk a ways. The menu was very interesting. That's probably why this place got popular. They aren't just your average tacos. I tried the rotisserie chicken, Cuban pig, and the fish n chips. I really wanted to like them but something was just off about every one of them. The fish n chips fish was very tasty but ruined by the excessive amount of curry mayo. This curry mayo also just tasted like mustard. The only thing I liked were the chips and queso. I'm happy we tried this place but it's not for everyone.
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
Velvet taco is always a hit! Didn't know there as one in Chicago was I was delightfully surprised. I got the WTF- weekly taco feature- hot jambalaya. It was lovely!! And the classic Korean fried rice. A total win!
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
If you're looking for an out of the box, casual place to grab dinner with friends- or even to-go, this is the perfect spot. While the menu is super fun, it can add up to be a bit of a hefty bill for a fast-casual restaurant if you add in sides, dessert or drinks. We do love coming here and ordering a whole bunch of fun tacos to share and the queso is always delicious. A dinner for two usually runs us $30ish per person. The Chicken & Waffle taco is our favorite savory treat! Plus in the summer, the patio is dog friendly!

Jackson W.

Yelp
I ordered food here and the food was very good. However, there were two "workers" that were calling orders (not sure why it took two of them) that wanted to the night to be about them. It was a very busy night and they were pushing people aside and causing issues with patrons who were minding their business. Overall cool spot to go to.
google avatar

Christine D.

Yelp
We ordered our meal for pick up and we're amazed at what value we got with the growler of margaritas... I mean, it was a lotta margarita, yaaassss! But one cannot survive on margarita alone. The elotes were so creamy with a good kick of heat and I enjoyed my shrimp and grits taco too, so sorry I didn't get a pic I was hungry, and did I also mention something about a half gallon of margaritas?! And you should see how much that bad boy costs on the pick up menu, then thank me later.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm going to make this short and sweet...These tacos are all one note in flavor and pretty salty and terrible...All these different tacos and varieties sound fantastic on paper but if I closed my eyes I couldn't tell one from another...The tacos with fried rice and ones with pickles and one with mushrooms and etc,etc...Close your eyes and pick one they are all dripping wet with sauce and taste the same...Maybe I should have gone full crazy and tried a PBJ beef taco but I have a feeling it wouldn't be any different than the 6 other types I tried. On a good note the flour tortillas used for these tacos are soft and delicious. These fusion tacos just don't work and im a lover of Korean taco restaurants.

Miles R.

Yelp
I went to Velvet taco and it was alright until we got to the tacos. The shells were disgusting and had horrible taste and texture. I didn't know it was possible to mess up a taco shell but they did it. 1 star.

Jackie P.

Yelp
I don't know what happened tonight, but I ordered via Doordash and the queso cup was half full and tasted like melted velveeta. The chips were borderline stale and I requested substitutions for corn vs flour tortillas. I got flour. I used to like Velvet Taco, but there has been a very pronounced decline in quality. It's now the McDonald's of Mexican food-and that's not a compliment. No mas.
google avatar

Brianna O.

Yelp
I go here so often. I wish I could go everyday. Definitely white people gentrification tacos but they taste very delicious. Cocktails are kinda nasty. would recommend getting a can.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
I'm in town visiting and was looking for tacos, happened to stumble across this place, and wow! Amazing! What an original choice of tacos. The margaritas were good too
google avatar

Shivani L.

Yelp
Love the fusion tacos here! The paneer tikka tacos were definitely our favorite - great flavor and texture without it being too heavy. The sauces on all the tacos were also very solid. I did wish the tortillas were warmer, they felt a bit hard making the tacos overall slightly colder. The queso was also a bit thick, but I did taste the subtle Thai flavor which I found pretty interesting. Overall, would come again to try the other cool veggie fusion options!
google avatar

Ron A.

Yelp
Went with wife and oldest daughter. Had beer battered cauliflower and picnic chicken and grilled salmon and paneer and queso Blanco. Very good. And Joe says, "taco bout a good meal"
google avatar

Gretchen D.

Yelp
We went there for carry-out. Loved the shrimp and grits especially. The fish and chips was good but would have been better if it had not endured a 15 minute walk home. Loved the elote! Will be nice when it is safe to go there and eat them freshly made.

Yelp
What a fun find! We were a group of 7 out and about in Chicago and wanted some fast but delicious dinner. One of our friends who lives in Chicago had had Velvet taco delivered but never went to a physical restaurant so this was a first for all of us. The menu is an eclectic fusion of traditional Mexican tacos and inspirations from cuisines from all over the world. For example, they have a chicken and waffle taco, which is served on a waffle-like tortilla. I ordered the mexi-cali shrimp tacos, which were fantastic (though a bit spicy, so be ware of that if you are sensitive to spice). Pro tip 1: sub the flour tortilla for a corn tortilla, I am of the humble opinion that it elevates any taco. My other pick was the fish and chips taco. I didn't order this one on a corn tortilla but I wish I had. The flour tortilla didn't really add any dimension to the otherwise very creative taco. The fish was topped with a curry mayo which reminded me of fish and chips and fries I've eaten in Berlin. Everyone else's food looked good and everyone was happy with their orders. I'd definitely come back! P.S. Pro tip 2: Get a serving of their homemade hot sauce, it's super flavorful and pairs extremely well with chips or any of their tacos.

Yelp
Found something each person of my five member family loved. Great place for picky eaters and those like to try new things.

Yelp
My go-to fusion taco place for the last decade! I love how Velvet Taco embraces its brand by not only having the friendliest hosts but also the best flavors that have remained consistent in the time I have eaten here. My favorite taco is the Spicy Tikka Paneer/Chicken and the Buffalo Chicken. I also love their WTF - Weekly Taco Flavor! VT always tries to come up with innovative fusion ideas that match the theme for the month. My another favorite is their elote with the blue corn chips - perfectly creamy and spicy! I was so happy that they opened a location in LP that I can walk to!

Yelp
Their tacos are fire! Had the chicken rotisserie and flank steak today and loved both. I've been going to their other location in the Gold Coast for years and love having another location closer to home.

Yelp
After suspecting it would end up overpriced, we finally tried it the other day and we were so wrong. Totally worth the price and one of our new favorite taco options. These are very untraditional tacos, they are sizable with lots of Indian and American flavors. For Instance, I had a chicken tikka taco and a paneer tikka taco. They were both very good - i was surprised the paneer tikka was quite authentic paneer. The chicken one had tons of chicken, a bit of rice and a decent curry sauce to go with it. My wife got the beef taco which had tons of queso on it. She also got the chicken and waffles brunch taco (available for dinner too) and it was incredibly unique, worked fairly well too. Odd to say the flexible, soft waffle shell worked, but it did! I also really liked that I could sub in corn tortillas on every taco which I much prefer to flour. Only two downsides: the elote was pretty average and the price for it all. The tacos are not cheap at 4-6 / taco, but they are sizable. Whereas you might typically order 3 tacos, you only need two here. Worth the price and can't wait to order again!!

Yelp
Pretty interesting take on tacos! We ordered for delivery various times from this place, and we've tried pretty much everything. I've got to say, definitely on the more expensive and less authentic side, which is pretty obvious. It is, however, a more creative taco. What Velvet Taco offers is your classic, favorite worldwide (American, Indian, British, etc) tastes inside the art of Mexican cuisine. My recommendation is the waffle and chicken taco because it includes a soft waffle shell with the delicious taste of fried chicken. My other recommendation -- because taste-wise this is my favorite -- is the falafel taco! It has a lettuce "shell". If you have already tired authentic Mexican tacos and you are the adventurous or creative type who's looking for innovative cuisine, this place is for you. My recommendation to the restaurant, and this is why I only give it 4 stars, is to allow this creativity to become accessible. It is on the expensive side, and from what we've experienced, the taste does not match the price. I would either amp up the taste and the ingredients, or simply lower the cost.

Yelp
This hot spot had such delicious options for everyone! As a vegetarian, their tofu and paneer tacos really hit the spot. The outdoor dining was also a delight.
