The 26 Best Things to Do in Miami

"Pictures don't do the Venetian Pool—one of the most beautiful public pools in the world—justice, but trust us: it's worth the trip to Coral Gables just to experience the complex in person. Be warned that the pool gets very crowded on hot days, particularly when kids are out of school (although no one under three is allowed), so your best bet is to call ahead to see if there's room. Or, better yet, get there early. You'll get a head start on sunbathing; just be sure to bring sunscreen." - Sara Liss, Terry Ward

Super pretty spot to spend the day and cool off. The pool is refreshing and the amenities are nice. Lounge on the sand area or rent a lounger. Plenty of space to swim and cool off the pools are huge. Really pretty waterfall feature. The staff is very nice and accommodating! Really great to visit during the week as there were very little people there. Paid $17 as I am a non resident, which is still very affordable. Concession stand was under construction but there were vending machines with drinks and snacks available. Would visit again!

I absolutely loved this place. I purchased my tickets the night before because I heard this place gets packed. I'm very happy I did because when I got there at noon on a Saturday it had already reached capacity. Parking is a little tricky because of how packed it gets. I had to circle around a few times before I found a spot. Once inside I was taken away by how beautiful and clear the water was. Word of advice: wear the life jacket if you're not a strong swimmer. The pool is super deep in some areas. However there are more than enough lifeguards standing by at all times. The seating areas get taken quickly so try to arrive early. Also the concession area is currently being remodeled so take your own snacks and drinks. This place is totally worth the $17 entrance fee. Lots of greats spots for pictures too. Will be returning soon. But probably on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. I was working in coral gables for over a year and never stepped in. Last week I had the chance to go for the first time and they just open the place for the season. You can enjoy en relax, also I have to mention they have a good group of lifeguards that keep monitoring the area and the people in the pool. If you love to swim, you will love the 8ft deep side of the pool. Definitely looking to come back.

The Venetian pool is a pretty great experience! The water is a great cool temperature to take a break from the heat of summer! With its beautiful turquoise waters, it is a wonderful spot for family or a nice date doing something out of the usual. I will have to knock it for the parking. Although if you arrive early Enough it shouldn’t be an issue. If you arrive after 11:00 you’ll be circling a few times waiting on a spot.

Google
Was impressed with this place, nice tucked into neighborhood location and felt the pool was bigger and better than I expected. Will return to again to explore the cave area as that had just been shut down for the day, as I was swimming to it. 8ft depth nice to swim long laps in, I wondered why it would be closed for season and now I realize it’s likely the leaves that would be falling into water and too much to maintain.

I went for my birthday my eyes were like 🤩since the gate door to the pool this is a very nice place and the pool is huge and beautiful

Google
This place is very beautiful. The water was amazing, and the waterfalls were fun. Clean park and plenty of seating areas. Pricing seemed fair enough, under $20/person. Locals obviously get a great deal. Still worth the sight and swim.

Google
We had a great time. It’s a beautiful place to hang out and be relax. The cost for someone that is not a Coral Gables residents is $18. We came on Wednesday so I believe is better if you don’t want to be bother with kids running and yelling around you (lol) The waterfalls, the caverns are awesome. The water looks clean but the pool’s floor was slimy and brown… with a brown layer on some areas. The restrooms were really clean and there were a lot of lifeguards. A lot of free parking lot do no worries about it.

Yelp
It was amazing but for the price Eh so in short it's worth the 17 dollars but get your moneys worth don't just leave after an hour all I can say fr

Yelp
I had the opportunity to have family and friends meet us for my daughters birthday party at Venetian pool. They offer party packages which I found to be reasonable considering the venue and food is included - these packages are mega discounted right now due to the cafe being closed for renovations. If you're planning to host a party they strictly require 2 weeks notice. In my case we notified just shy of 2 weeks and they wouldn't allow us to book through the party option, instead we had to buy individual tickets (taking off one star for this reason as we'd been in contact with a Venetian pool representative well ahead of the 2 week mark but there were many unknowns for them due to the renovations). The emoloyees were really helpful though the day before the party to provide tips for the party. Anywho! Everyone had an amazing time, my daughter said this was the "best birthday". The kids and adults had a blast and were thankful for the unique experience. We were able to get the shady beach area (it is a rental option for parties but if it isn't already reserved for a party can be claimed via first come first serve). It was very nice having a beach feel with the beautiful blue water surrounding. The children had a blast swimming and going in the caves and I felt comfortable with all of the staff that was available and watching to make sure everyone was safe. After having this party I have already been thinking about when we could go back. Beautiful and fun place to be!

Yelp
Cool pool! Its man-made but the water is sanitized and refreshing. Came here, for my niece's bday and kids love it here, even the adults have fun! Its also safe for kids as lifeguards are alert while on duty. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Fun fact: When my grandma was a little girl in the 1930s-1940s, she used to come to the Venetian Pool. I recently went when a friend was in town for a cruise, and it was super nice and pretty. I'm sure others have gone into the history etc of this very cool place, so no need for me to. Do I think it's worth it to pay so much for a non-Coral Gables resident? I don't. But it'd still a very cool place to visit.

Yelp
Beautiful facility that could allow people to easily spend all day inside. The only thing away from 4 stars was no foodservice inside and the pool needs more areas for seating. The awesome 100 year history of the pool was awesome and IL definitely be back!

Yelp
This place is a true gem!! Beautiful scenery, tons of place to sit and enjoy! The water was cold but not nearly as cold as we were expecting. The cave is a must!! The lifeguards are great, they have free life vests available. The food at the cafe on site was delicious!! Is it a little pricey? Kind of. Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! Definitely a must on the the to do list.

Yelp
Venetian pool the best pool in coral Gables. They are closed on Monday and open Tuesday through Friday from 11 to 530 and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 430. The tickets range from six dollars for Coral Gable residents and $17 for nonresidents. This amazing pool has been open to the public since 1924. It is an amazing location to spend time with family and friends in an amazing clear blue pool. The venetian pool faculty are very friendly and nice. The pool is drained and refilled every single day to give it the clean and shiny blue color. It takes about four hours to drain it and six hours to refill it every day. You're able to bring your own drinks and food. Also do have a concessions but at this point in time is under renovations. One thing I do need to advise if you're going to go to Venetian pool recommendation purchase tickets online before the date you're gonna attend. It does get very packed and sold out. A great oasis just in your own backyard.

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to the Venetian Pool for a good while now and I finally got to go! Highly recommend this place for a pool day or even to have a little get together or celebrate a birthday! The water is kept clean & it's very refreshing! I do recommend to rent a beach chair as the free benches and tables do get taken quickly. They 2 waterfalls and a cave like area which is very cool! Whenever I wanted a break from the sun, my bf and i would just go in the cave and hang out. There are a good amount of life guards on duty, so that's good. They also have a food cafe area where you can order food. We got their chicken strips and a burger and both were good! I would definitely come back to the Venetian Pool!!

Yelp
Consider to be one of Miami's historical landmarks Venetian Pool is a spring water pool theme to look like a lagoon from Venice. We took our children this past Friday for the first time. Over my lifetime I have been a couple of time and enjoy it. The water here is perfect for these brutal Miami summers since it really cold but refreshing. They provide life jackets for the little ones, and the pools get as deep as 8 feet. There is a sandy area and a really cool cave to swim into. At the far end they have a water fall where you can climb some steps and take a jump. They have a cafeteria where they sell burgers and chicken tender for a decent price. I highly recommend that everyone should visit this South Florida gem at least once in their lifetime.

Yelp
Definitely worth a visit. Huge pool, waterfalls, caves, little sandy beach area, shallow area for kids to play, free life jackets, concession stand. The water comes in naturally somehow, so not chlorinated. And a consistent temperature of 74 degrees so a little chilly! Really unusual. Not super cheap. It was $21 per person admission, chaise lounges were $7 each, lockers another few dollars. But a very unusual experience and totally worth checking out.

Yelp
We came to the Venetian Pool for the first time, for the dog Paws In The Pool event. We had a blast! It was pretty well organized, and the pool is awesome. It's a beautiful spot. I would say this is more of a "swimming" pool than a "lounging around" pool. We will definitely be coming back to check it out again, without our dog!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Venetian Pool Pro Tips: The majority of the pool is very deep. There are life vests everywhere free of charge. No outside floats or rafts allowed Only small bag coolers allowed Kid section of pool separated from pool with bars. There's a cafeteria. Lockers and changing room/showers available Gorgeous paradise Active lifeguards surveillance non stop Great time Cons: $21 for adults $16 for kids non Gables residents. Not enough shady areas in the pool. Rocks and entrances can be very slippery. I suggest water shoes to grip. Water temperature can be very cold. Super refreshing in summer months. Can be heavily chlorinated. Again deep so rely on life vest for extra floatation. Can be crowded with lessons and lot of people.

Yelp
The pool landscape is beautiful with caves and waterfalls. It was a really good place to relax as an alternative to the beach. I would recommend getting there early and picking a good spot. I went on a Saturday and by 11am they stopped letting people in due to being at capacity. There is plenty of parking in the overflow lot right across the street. Only negative was paying $16 an adult to swim in a pool; which i could have done at home for free. For that reason I probably won't go back.

Yelp
I've been in Fl 30 years and this is my first visit. The location is very nice, it's a historic pool and surroundings which is pretty amazing. The pool water was colder than I expected but refreshing on a 90+ day. I found the entry price for non-Gables residents to be a bit high, $21 for adults, $16 for 3-12 yes old. The food was mediocre and you're not supposed to bring any in. The pool was full of children from camps, we visited on a weekday. Unfortunately the counselors just let them run around, jumping on and over people. They have a nice 2ft pool where I was with my 3 yr old grandson, the 10-12 year olds were in there jumping all over the smaller kids and anyone in their way. I thought the life guards were great, well trained. I also like that they offer life jackets. I would like to go again, maybe early on a weekend or after 3 on a weekday when the campers are leaving.

Yelp
This place really pissed me off. I bought tickets on the website and there's no clear statement that kids under the age of three are not allowed to come in. I had to walk all the way from Salvador Park to be told that I'm not allowed inside the pool sweating pushing my baby in a stroller.only to be notified that I have to fill out a form that I can't come in. This place has to be the worst

Yelp
Being that I've been in Miami my whole life, I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to Venetian Pool. This is an underrated and sometimes forgotten spot in Miami! It's situated right in the middle of Coral Gables and is on National Register of Historic Places. The pool is made up of an old quarry that was excavated for nearby buildings. There are plenty of waterfalls, a separate area for kids, and a grotto where you can swim and walk into. They have a "beachy" area with sand where you can rent a chair or use a towel to lay on. There are a handful of covered picnic benches nearby too. They also have a cafe where they serve pizza, fries, soda, and some other snacks. The cafe was reasonably priced which I was pleasantly surprised about. A few things to note: - The water is COLD as it is drained and refilled daily from natural spring water. - The pool is VAST and is a minimum of FIVE feet deep. I recommended if you go with small kids or beginner swimmers, grab one of the life vests they have available. - It can get pricey for a family to come to Venetian Pool, especially if you are not a Coral Gables resident. Admission varies based on the time of year. Non-Residents Rates (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day): Adults (13 years and older): $21 and Child: (3 - 12 years) $16. Non-Residents Rates (Sept. 6 - Nov. 27): Adults (13 years and older): $16 and Child: (3 - 12 years) $11. I suggest buying your tickets online ahead of time as the pool will close once it reaches capacity.

Yelp
The pool is amazing! However, everyone should know that they will close the gates if they have reached capacity. So...if you're driving a distance to go here, make sure to plan for this happening. I had no idea. When we got there the signs said they were closed for the day. (At 1:45pm). There were a few people waiting around the entrance, so we decided to wait too...since we had driven a hour to get there. Luckily, I had a few snacks with me to keep my kids occupied!! At 2:30pm the doors were opened back up, but I guess that isn't guaranteed. I'm glad we waited, but I think they should add a message on their website to let people know, so vacation plans aren't ruined.

Yelp
The Venetian Pool is a Miami staple, if you haven't been here in a while I recommend you to come back on a sunny afternoon, the pool is well maintained, the majority is very deep so you can use the free life vests on the side, rocks and entrance are slippery but they have accesible entrances as well.

Yelp
I have lived in South Florida since the late 1960's; and the Venetian Pool has been around since the 1920's.....how have I never been there before? It is breathtaking! The Venetian Pool is located in Coral Gables and even the drive through the city is fabulous because all of the houses nearby are gorgeous, well-maintained and have very unique architectural styles. There are several free parking lots surrounding the attraction. They open at 11:00 a.m. and when I arrived at about 11:30 on a Friday in July there was plenty of available parking. There was a short line to purchase tickets which were $20 each. You could also rent a beach chair or a locker at the entrance desk. I was with a group of 9 ladies and we decided to share a few lockers and a few ladies rented lounge chairs. There is a large locker room area with lockers, showers, changing area, and toilets just past the entrance. The pool itself is just beautiful with a waterfall, underwater caves, and lush landscaping. There really is no shallow area, except for the roped off kiddie area. Once you jump in or climb down one of the ladders, the depth quickly progresses to 5 feet or deeper. There are many lifeguards positioned all around the pool and I was surprised to note that there was even a lifeguard inside the caves! The water is quite cold for this Florida girl, but you get used to it after a few minutes. I swam into the caves. It was a cool experience, but you just need a few minutes to explore them both. I also swam to the waterfall ; which is really pouring down! You can actually swim behind the rushing water and sit on the little ledges on the back wall. In addition to the water there is a sandy beach area, some picnic tables and even a little snack bar. For as well maintained as the pool area is, I was quite surprised to see how weedy the landscaping was in the area surrounding the beach. It was a plus to discover that you could bring your own food in. It's not one of those tourist places that won't let you bring snacks in and then charges you an arm and a leg for their snacks! Another really cool thing is all the old photos hanging on the walls inside the tower. There are great shots from the 1920's snd 1930's that show what the Venetian Pool was like during that time period. There are all kinds of shots of beauty pageants and celebrity appearances. All in all the Venetian Pool is a hidden gem in Coral Gables. It's a wonderful place to visit for a day of swimming or sunning for all ages! (They also had life vests for small children and non-swimmers.)
google avatar

Sosun K.

Yelp
I love this place! The pool is made up of salt water rather than chlorine, so win for my skin. They have a fantastic waterfall and a little cave that you can enter and explore. I strongly suggest getting tickets online because they sell out quickly. The water is really cold at first, but you get used to it, and if it's a sunny, warm day, you'll be fine. This place is a great experience!

Yelp
Beautiful Pool to stay the whole day at. There's plenty picnic tables and they have affordable food at their café. Get there early to get a nice place to relax and enjoy.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the pool here. It was July 4th and the place was completely full. Luckily we made reservations in advance. Food was hot and fresh surprisingly even close to closing time. They were Pumping out those fries to all the hungry swimmers I guess.

Yelp
Wow wow wow....if you have not been, add this to your list! I can't believe I have never done a review - this place is amazing, pretty, historical. Here is some information about it - see below..IT IS A MUST SEE WHEN IN CORAL GABLES The Venetian pool was opened in 1924 as the Venetian Casino. The pool was a creation that was a result of the Grand Plan that George Merrick had for a City that would embody true hometown living. As George Merrick went about creating a City with Mediterranean features such as grand entrances, plazas, and Mediterranean style homes, the limestone being used to create the buildings were taken from a quarry pit. This quarry became Venetian Pool through the efforts of Merrick, artist Denman Fink, and architect Phineas Paist. The pool was transformed into a paradise that is included in the National Register of Historic Places, the only swimming pool to have such a designation. In its early days, the "Venetian Casino", was quite a destination for the high society people of the day. Movie Stars Johnny Weismuller and Esther Williams both appeared there to large crowds. The pool was also a site for orchestra concerts. The pool would be emptied and the orchestra would then perform on the pool floor. Many years later in 2001, The scene would be duplicated as a concert was held on the pool floor to commemorate the City of Coral Gables' 75th birthday. In 1989, a historical renovation was completed. The pool's rich history can now be observed as you walk in through the entry fountain and gaze upon the historical pictures that remind patrons of an era long gone by. Yelp
I have been wanting to come here for a while with my son; however, they are really strict with their no-kids-under-3 policy. Well, my son just turned 3 so I finally got to go - yay! And when I say, they're strict about it - they really are. The second we entered before we even got to the cashier, they asked me how old he is, he had to stand against a wall proving that he is 38" tall, and I had to show a proof of ID. Once we got through that, the fun began! I was a little bit skeptical coming here because I normally avoid places with a lot of people because ... people! But I was pleasantly surprised how big the pool is. This means, it did not seem crowded at all and there was tons of space inside the pool. The pool is made out a coral rock quarry and has been a landmark of the Gables since 1923. Every day they fill and drain 820,000 gallon of fresh spring water from an underground aquifer. The amount of chlorine they put inside the pool is less than in our drinking water. Hence, you always have very fresh water in that pool. As a consequence, the water is on the chillier side. I found it very refreshing tho on a hot Miami summer day and not uncomfortable at all! Now back to the beauty of the pool: you feel like you're going back in time to some old-school Caribbean pool. There are waterfalls, different types of gorgeous palm trees, cave-like grottos, loggias, and more. There is also a shallower area for kids. The facility has a beach-like area but the chairs sell out quickly. There is also a fast-food café that sells burgers, chicken tenders, and more. Parking is free but there is limited availability. Entrance is $20 for adults and $15 for kids; however, Coral Gables residents get a discount and only pay $6.25 per adult and $5.25 per kid. The hours change depending on the season so check their website before going.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin. This pool is literally the most amazing pool I have ever been too. The pool itself is huge, has multiple depths from 2 ft up to 8 ft, waterfalls, caves, grottos and multiple lifeguards on duty at all times. The property is very nice and clean and has a picnic area and butterfly garden. The coolest part for me was the rich history of the pool and grounds. This pool was actually originally built in 1923. Not every day you get to swim in a 100 year old pool!
google avatar

Hansel M.

Yelp
I have always been enthralled by the idea that old Coral Gable entrances were made from the quarried limestones of what was once a huge, solid piece of limestone... and is now the Venetian Pool. However, visiting Venetian Pool, and witnessing ground zero yourself, is a whole different story. Such a vibe.

Yelp
It's a beautiful day at The Venetian pool lovely weather clear fresh water and time just seems to stand still here

Yelp
I recommend it 100% for a day of relaxation. the staff was very nice. The only thing you should know is that the water is very cold but it's okay

Yelp
Venetian Pool's Annual Dog Swim! Today was that time of year again, The Annual Paws in The Pool Event at Venetian. If you have a fur-baby, once a year you can bring your best friend for a day at the pool in Coral Gables. For those unfamiliar with the pool, here is a bit of history from their site. "The Venetian Pool is an aquatic facility unlike any other in the country. It has been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world, and is still one of the main tourist attractions for those visiting the City of Coral Gables. The pool was created in 1923 from a coral rock quarry, where much of the original coral rock was used to border and further accentuate the pool. It also features two large historic lookout towers, with a view to the City Beautiful. The 820,000 gallon pool is fed with spring water from an underground aquifer. In the spring and summer seasons, the pool is filled and drained daily! Of course the aquifer is not the only feature that enhances a visitor's experience. There are two waterfalls that provide a scenic backdrop as well as the cave-like grottos which provide a fun experience for swimmers. The Venetian Pool's beauty is further accentuated by its loggias, porticos, palm trees and signature bridge. It truly is an unforgettable experience." Now imagine taking your fur-baby to experience this event? Lots of action and fun! They will love it! The Miami Dade County Animal Services also brought in an adoption center truck and two fur-babies were lucky to be adopted today. I hope they will live a happy life in their forever homes. Please, be aware that you must bring proof of current rabies vaccination and be prepared to clean up after your babies. This is the only time a year that you can't get into the facility, unless you are accompanied by a dog. Bring a leash!! Tickets were sold at the door today, but it looks like next year it will only be sold online. Check out the pictures for some more info. My Bella (@ocean.bella) had a great time and I don't have any complaints. The dogs were well behaved, the day was gorgeous, and they had a blast. If you are a dog lover, that's an event to attend. For those of you going: "Ewwww, dogs in the pool." Newsflash: Humans are dirtier than dogs by a long run. Get over it and go brush your teeth! :-) Ps: Here's a tip: After the pool and dropping your fur-baby back home, you might want to stop by the 26th Annual Coral Gables Oktoberfest that should be happening around the same time next year. But hey, the pool is over for the puppies until 2020, but the 25th Oktoberfest still going on now... Location??? Fritz & Franz Bierhaus. Cheers! Valerie

Yelp
This is a one of a kind historic pool located in Coral Gables. It was opened in 1924 as the Venetian Casino. As George Merrick mined the the coral rock he used to build the Mediterranean influenced city of Coral Gables the four acre quarry he mined became the Venetian pool. This is the only pool that is on the National Register of Historic Places. You can see a display about the history of the pool around the fountain in the front entrance. Swimming stars Johnny Weismuller who played Tarzan and movie star and bathing beauty Esther Williams used to swim here. The pool used to be emptied to allow an orchestra to play on the pool floor. This the largest fresh water pool in the United States. It is filled with 820,000 gallons of water from artesian wells daily. The water is extremely cold compared to what most Floridians are used to. The pool ranges in depth from 8 feet to 2 feet. There is a waterfall and cave you can swim into. There is a cafe that serves basic snack food like burgers, pizza, chicken fingers, and ice cream. The current price to enter the pool is $20. It is much less if you are a Coral Gables resident, only $5. The pool is located in a neighborhood with limited parking which goes fast so it is best to be there when they open during the summer months. Children under the age of 3 are not allowed entrance. To swim here is a one of a kind experience that everyone should have at least once.

Yelp
A perfect "beachy" day, especially with older kids! This is a closed area so less concerned about then running off. There would ideally be a slide for the little ones but nothing was there when we visited. Life jackets are free of charge, but sadly no other flotation devices are welcomed. For the adult charge of $16 (low season) we enjoyed climbing up inside the waterfall (sadly no longer able to go up the sides) as well as relaxing around in the deeper end with gentle swimming about. Lifeguards were somewhat understaffed meaning that the cave/grotto was off limit for the entire day of our visit, something I believe takes away from the experience you are paying for and should be addressed. We asked nicely since there were 3 on site and only 2 needed to be "on duty" in order for us to do so and would have expected they at least open it for 10-20 minutes for people to quickly explore instead of hearing them spend 2 hours telling 10 of the only 20 people on-site to get out (they would sneak under the rope quickly for photos). Residential prices were less costly than visitor passes which I always like to see (we were visitors but it is a belief that residents should have greater/cheaper access than tourists).

Yelp
This pool is amazing!! Visiting from Northern California, and I wanted to get in a swim. My cousin brought me here. The center has so much history, and lots of documentation. The waterfalls and greenery were wonderful, and this huge pool, more like a man made pond, had clearly marked depth for swimmers, waders and kids. It's a one of a kind experience ... old school charm! Don't miss it if you visit Miami!

Yelp
This pool is almost 100 years old so that's pretty cool to see and it's in a gorgeous location. There were definitely pros and cons from my day here. I had been wanting to come here for awhile because the pictures online look pretty. I'll go with the pros first. The staff is nice and the lifeguards are NO JOKE, they are so legit and play no games when it comes to watching the pool. They have a system which is pretty cool to see, so it's definitely a safe pool. Nobody is drowning on their clock. There were 3 lifeguards that I saw at each time. There's a cute waterfall as well as little grotto area which were neat. The grotto you can sit down in. And the temperature of the water was cool and refreshing for a hot summer day. Also, there is a cafe that sells food at a very inexpensive price which is a plus! They have chicken tenders, hotdogs, burgers, pizza and snacks for all around $5 each which was cheap considering the $20 entrance fee to get in. There's 3 sections of the pool, 4 feet, 5 feet and 7 feet by the waterfall. I'm 5'3 so i did find it annoying that most of the pool was 5 feet which caused me to be on my tippy toes the entire time, I felt like the majority of the pool should've been 4 feet. They did have a very small kiddie area but there really isn't much for kids to do there. They do offer adult and child size life jackets for free for non swimmers which is nice. I liked that they do not allow any children under 3 which made me feel a little better about all the people being in the pool. I also liked that after a certain amount of people they reach capacity and do not let anyone else in for the remainder of the day because I was afraid it would get too crowded. Some of the cons was the line to get in was long and if you paid with a debit/credit card it took forever to process because their internet is slow so it holds the line up even longer. I also felt like $20 to get in was quite expensive just for a public pool. The place was pretty and clean but for me it was a place to go just once, I don't see myself paying $20 again for just a pool. Another con is that if you want a chair you have to pay which is $5 each or you can rent a locker to store your stuff. Overall, it was pretty but I didn't think it was that special. I'd check it out once but that was enough for me especially considering we live in Miami and nice pools are a dime a dozen here and less crowded. I also wouldn't recommend for kids since the majority of the pool is 5 feet and no slides or anything fun for them.

Yelp
This pool is absolutely magical every time we go! It has two waterfalls one very big one you can swim under then a smaller one kids (and adults) can jump off or just cool off in. It also features a cave like grotto which is such a cool place to explore. The Venetian pool has something to offer for all ages! It also features a cafe with some food such as fries , coffees etc. I highly recommend visiting this pool at least once in your lifetime, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Such a great place to go with the family. I recommend that you buy your tickets online because tickets sell out fast if your planning on buying in person. The pool is well kept, lifeguards on duty and if you get hungry there a great cafe inside.

Yelp
We came from Jax to Miami and decided to check out the Venetian Pool. I read some of the reviews and was worried. But.... to my surprise, it was great!! The pool was beautiful, clean, and there is a cool baby cave to explore! The crowd was average and we didn't feel smushed or intruded upon. There is a little shop to order junk food and also lockers!! If I'm ever down south I would visit again!

Yelp
I went there with my friends and we had a great time. We had a lot of fun exploring the cave and going under the waterfall. The workers were nice especially the lifeguards. They have free chairs to sit down if you don't want that you can rent a lounge chair for $5 you'll have it all day. They also provide life jackets. The bathroom was supper clean. I definitely recommend going there with your friends or family. You will not regret it. Go have a relax day okay

Yelp
I loved this place upon entering. We came here on our honeymoon in miami and it seems to get busy fast so definitely buy tickets ahead of time if you know you want to go because they lock the gates and you can't get in. Everything is pretty clean, however getting a lounge chair is impossible so rent one ahead of time as well. Here's why I gave this three stars and not 5...we were relaxing and a kid some how cut his head open in one of the caves and bled all over. Instead of evacuating the area they just told people to get out of the cave. They then took a bucket of what smelled like bleach and threw it in the pool while people were still in that area. This is SO BAD for your body. If you're going to pour disinfectant in a pool you need to evacuate it completely and not expose people to chemicals.

Yelp
I visited with my son, husband and some friends on July 8, 2022. The last time I visited was more than 20 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit. I set the expectations for all of us based on my memory and had a really lovely time. This is a community pool that you pay to use. However, it is both historic in it's construction and story. There are no slides or diving boards (I'm sure you already saw the pictures) but it has value for what it is. For those of you expecting an attraction other than a historic landmark in coral gables, please go somewhere else. It is super unique and incredibly refreshing on a brutally hot summer day. I do find the prices outrageous considering coral gables residents pay less than a third of us outsiders. You might consider renting a chair. They're not free so if you find one open it likely belongs to someone else. They do have a small shallow end but it is usually packed. The caves are still cool as ever. And getting to the waterfall was literally swimming against the current and exhausting but incredibly fun! Something I discovered was that by the ledge there is a tiny step which was perfect to hang out on. I wish there were cocktails but alas I digress. If you can, definitely come visit at least once. A few hours is all you need and pro tip- come early! Parking is a little chaotic so arrive maybe 30 min before opening.

Yelp
We finally made it to the historic Venetian Pools. We locked our bikes right in front on a bike stand that looked like a bike. We brought sandwiches and drinks, which is fine, but we learned they won't allow coolers into the facility. You can also purchase food here if you like. We rented a lounge chair for an additional $5. To obtain the lounge chair you ask a life guard when you show the receipt and the guard will put the chair in your desired spot. Arriving at around 2pm the temperature was close to 90. To let off some steam, we dipped into the 72 degree natural spring waters and swam around the grotto. The pool is fairly large and a team of lifeguards rotate different spots every 30 minutes. You hear them blowing their whistles quite frequently. It was hard to believe there were so much rambunctiousness, but then again the place was packed with kids. And kids can be kids. The Pools get as deep as 8ft and at the deep end you find waterfalls that come down pretty hard, if you swim right under them you'll get pummeled! After a 20 minute swim you are ready to warm up for a little bit. At 4:30pm the show was over and after two more retreats into the Pools we had our fill. It was a great and refreshing way to spend an afternoon, and certainly a good alternative to the beach.

Yelp
After reading about the Venetian Pool, our group of four decided it was a must-visit during our trip to Miami. I definitely recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before they open, as there are only a few admission booths and the line backs up FAST. Also, for non-residents, it's a pretty hefty admission fee. Unfortunately, on the day we chose to visit to VP, there was a large group of kids on a field trip of sorts. They took up most of the areas near the waterfalls, the sandy "beach" area, and caused the air to be filled with sounds of whistles and yelling from the lifeguards. Honestly, this pushed our stay to only end up being an hour or so. Physically, the pool is beautiful. There is so much history, and everything is very well taken care of. I really enjoyed the photos in the "foyer" type area of the pool through the years. My final recommendation is to avoid getting a locker. Understandably, there's a deposit that you receive back upon returning your locker key. However, you wait in the admission line to return your key. As mentioned above, that line gets crazy. So, just keep that in mind! Definitely a special gem in Florida, even with the downsides. Would I visit again? No. But at least I have some pretty photos to share!

Yelp
My summer time fun and a Monday off of work I decided to take my daughter to a unforgettable day at the pool. This was my first time here and hers. It was pricey but worth it. We arrived around 10 am and stayed til they closed down. It was packed with summer camp students and tourist. We had no place to grab a chair so we laid out on the ground next to an entry and exit to the water, I had no problems with that. I damaged my eardrum jumping in the pool with my daughter. After the pain went away, we swam around the pool and went in the cave. My daughter used a swimming vest to float around. It does get tiring swimming the whole pool, I had to take breaks. The pool was very pretty and the water was cool. I enjoyed because it was a hotttt day in South Florida. We did eat at the cafe some nachos with cheese, cheese fries and sodas. By the cafe we did find the a table to sit and eat. You have to look good or wait until someone leaves. The bathrooms were convenient with showers to wash off and get refreshed before going home or going out to another stop. It would be relaxing if you laid out and used earplugs I must say. I want to go again. This was a great experience to find such a treasure in Sunny FL.

Yelp
Do not go here!!! When reported that one of the girls in our summer camp experienced an individual outside the park snapping pictures of her on the phone, the supervisors laughed and then reported that we were not the first group to report this problem. They still have done nothing about it. Would not recommend because they do not care about the safety of their customers especially the children.

Yelp
This place was a blast for me and my two friends in our 30's. We went in a weekday at 11am. There was a small line to get in. $12 ticket and you can go and come back all day. There was parking in the lot when we arrived. When we left at 1pm people were lined up waiting for our spot. Pool was not crowded. Restrooms have showers and changing area with lockers. There are benches by pool or the sand area to put your stuff. No pool noodles, but you can wear a life vest. The water was refreshing on a hot day, but if you stand still you will get cold...keep Moving. There are tables you can eat at.

Yelp
As a Miami native, I grew up hearing about this magical pool that is built upon a coral rock quarry and is supplied by the the fresh springs underneath it. After years of attempting to come, I decided that today was the day. I have NEVER been so disappointed in my life! 1) The employees are EXTREMELY slow in handling the simplest task of charging an entrance fee. 2) 2 cashiers to handle hundreds of people is obviously an insult to "The City Beautiful" 3) How the hell did I pay $55 for two adults and one child ? 4) Pool was FILTHY & reeked of urine and chlorine 5) incessant whining from the lifeguards every three seconds didn't allow me to relax 6) The cafe is a total joke! I got there and the line was super short. It took me 44 minutes to order my food and walk out with it. The lack of efficiency is mind boggling. I saw some guy in the back cutting tomatoes taking his sweet time and chitchatting every three seconds. 7) bathrooms smell and are gross because the staff is too busy standing around picking their boogers apparently 8) anyone who says this is the "most beautiful pool they've seen" is just a boring individual with no class and obviously poorly traveled and easy to please. If you like swimming with bugs and don't mind aimlessly waiting an hour and a half to walk inside the pool then I guess you'll be happy here. For those like me who appreciate the more refined stuff in life, go to the Biltmore instead.

Yelp
This jewel of south Florida was a wonderful delight! I brought my teens for the summer to come to the artificial fresh pool surrounded by coral landscapes. What can be confusing is the parking- make sure you go to the lot right across the street. In the busy season during summer and hot weekends prepare to see a swarm of people. However, the pool is huge! There are waterfalls and sand for tanning and laying out, as well as multiple life guards stationed at each post. The length of the pool is wide and it is recommended that swimmers who have short stamina use life preserving jackets- anyone can ask to use them. We were happy to make our trips out here because of the landscape, cool refreshing water, and the scenic pictures that we could take. Loved the attention the life guards had, never did I feel I had to double check for safety - but be responsible with your children; know their limits and always be by their side. Try and look for coupons and specials online at the gate every adult is about or under $20.

Yelp
I went to this pool on 8/21/19 and I definitely think that the photos make the pool look much nicer than it actually is. This was my first visit to Miami, and after reading some tourist blogs that recommended visiting the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables, I decided to give it a try. The first thing to note is that the community pool charges a $20 entrance fee for non-Coral Gable residents during the summer. I found that to be very over-priced for the experience the pool offered. Also, if you'd like to sit down in a lounge chair, you have to pay $5.00 for that too! After paying the fee, I walked in and expected to see a nice, clean pool with lots of great amenities. But instead, I was greeted with something quite different. The ground of the main pool was quite dirty - there were brown specs everywhere. But what made it worse was the fact that the pool water kind of had a yellow-ish, brown-ish tint. At first, I really didn't want to enter the pool, but I figured since I paid $20.00 for the experience I might as well do it. As another writer said, you can get a much nicer pool experience by checking out a day pass at a resort or even simply heading to South Beach to swim in the ocean.
