14 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Queens | Eater NY

"Between the beige wall, beige canopy, and beige table settings, the sprawling patio at this Mediterranean bistro feels like being on a cruise ship, but the spaciousness is unrivaled. It’s a prime destination for eating grilled octopus and lamb chops while enjoying a warm afternoon breeze." - Caroline Shin

10 Great Places to Try Hamachi Right Now | Eater

"Acclaimed chef George Mendes opened Veranda in 2021 after bidding adieu to his beloved Aldea in early 2020. For this venture, he partnered with restaurateur David Rabin on a modern spot inside the Modernhaus SoHo hotel. The menu leans Portuguese (Mendes’ native country) but with an American accent, and fish and seafood are heavily featured. Mendes’ Hamachi Confit maximizes the rich flavor of the Japanese hamachi, as the thick slices are cooked slowly until tender. The dish is then garnished with seasonal black truffle purée, fresh truffles, and hon shimeji mushrooms. A ginger dashi sauce adds extra umami to the dish." - Vox Creative

Celebrated Valentine’s Day here. They have only Valentine’s Day menu for $85 per person. I was upset at the very beginning because I expected order dishes my own but then we can only choose main course from a set menu. However, after enjoying the service here, I think $85 was still valuable. It contains one appetizer, one main course and one dessert. The service was really good here, staffs were caring and polite. Appetizer we choose salad and Coconut Shrimp. I really recommend the Coconut Shrimp. The Shrimp was giant and very crispy. Only 3 shrimps per dish but I think it’s still good portion for appetizer. Main course we choose steak and Scollop Risotto. The steak was tender, which was out of my expect. Risotto was also above average. We were mostly full on the half way of main course, since they also provided free bread. Dessert we choose Chocolate Lava Cake and Cheese Cake. Both taste really good! And we packed the left over home. Overall I had a good experience celebrating Valentine’s Day here. ———————————— 店名:Veranda Restaurant & Cafe 208-01 Northern Blvd Bayside, NY 11361 United States

This restaurant is consistently good! The food is delicious. The atmosphere is private - perfect for business or leisure. The service is excellent. I have attended parties here (birthday parties, baby showers, etc) and I have had business lunches and meals with friends. They knock it out of the park every time. I highly recommend it.

This review is about a week late but I couldn't miss the chance to say thank you! we celebrated my dad's 70th at Veranda planning was fairly last minute and from the moment I called to the day of the dinner they were so awesome and accommodating. We reserved the wine room with Nick he was AMAZING. Truly a man of service I felt so welcomed and he took care of everything beforehand. On the day of he was also there and our waitress was great and patient as well. Food was great we ordered a bunch and did it family style. Had the Sangria pitchers for drinks everyone said they were so good and nice and strong. Incredible value and experience booking with Veranda. Thank you so much we will be back.

Welcoming, spacious Greek brunch restaurant. Excellent service with friendly waiters. Drinks: Peach mojito is sweet and refreshing with a little alcohol 8/10 Bloody Mary is strong and includes some veggies and olives 9/10 Raspberry mojito is lightly sweet 7/10 Appetizers: Zucchini chips are the perfect starter with enough for the table 8/10 Octopus is a few slices but the aged balsamic is tasty 7/10 Tuna tartare is savory 8/10 Fried calamari is standard 7/10 Main Courses: Crab cake burger had good texture but lacking depth of flavor maybe needs some hollandaise sauce 7/10 Desserts: Galaktobureko 7/10 it's made like an empanada 🥟 it's decent but not the best. Custard was creamy but light. Shell was flaky. Cheesecake 7/10 dense, heavy cheesecake Chocolate cake with ice cream 8/10 basic but it works well

Server was very friendly and attentive. I appreciated his positivity and energy with my family. The restaurant overall had a nice Sunday brunch vibe. Food was very good. We ordered 3 appetizers: octopus, calamari and Tuna tartare. They were great except the Tuna was a bit salty. No sure if someone slipped with the seasoning since the calamari and octopus were perfect. Our entrees were very enjoyable as we mostly ordered Sunday breakfast / brunch items.

We came by for brunch and it was great. Love their outdoor seating area. A perfect place to enjoy meal on warm sunny day. Food was good and service was good as well. Everything we ordered was good. Just the hash was under salted.

Google
This restaurant is casual chic. You have a choice to sit outdoors, which is very relaxing or indoors, that is modern contemporary. I like that the tables have tablecloths. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious with a variety of choices. I especially enjoyed the guacamole with crispy tortilla chips that were homemade. The Caesar Salad was delicious. My dinner choice was Shrimp Diablo to die for with fettuccini and a tomato sauce that was spicy. Another wonderful dish was grilled lamb chops. Lastly, the salmon was very fresh. We were all very satisfied with our choices . I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Didn't realize this place was here until we went for a friend's birthday lunch. First, any place in queens has parking issues. I believe they have a parking garage with valet parking but luckily I found street parking (for free) 2 blocks away on a weekday afternoon. The restaurant is very spacious and was sadly empty but for a couple of tables. Maybe the weather kept people away? There were 4 of us and friends ordered a few dishes for us to share before I arrived. I did not look at the menu so I apologize for not knowing the names of the dishes. First was a mango and avocado salad. It sounds like an odd combination and I would never have ordered this. It was a dish with a whole mango and avocado cut into quarters with a little green (arugula?) and dressing. Surprisingly the combination of flavors worked! It was a refreshing start to the meal. Next we had zucchini chips which I always love. Next was a crab cake sandwich that the waiter thoughtfully cut into 4 for us to share. Entree was chicken with pasta in a vodka sauce. We had coffees and shared a cheesecake with berry sauce to end our meal. I have nothing but good things to say for this restaurant. Flavors were all good, service impeccable and the space was large. I am not sure how any of this would change if they had a full house. Hopefully it doesn't.

Yelp
I live around the neighborhood and pass it all the time heading to the highway. I feel like this restaurant has been taken for granted. It has a beautiful outdoor dining area and inside - very high end and classy. You can definitely bring a date here! We ordered food off the brunch menu. I ordered the arugula salad with chicken and it was surprisingly delicious. The frittata, French toast was also decent. The food came out in a decent amount of time. The waiter was attentive. I would definitely be coming back!

Yelp
This is a very spacious restaurant both indoors and out - great for a large party - I love how the outside is covered and gives you a private, protected feeling without the unforgiving sun beaming down on your head. They are hospitable and attentive. However, the food was a bit bland for my taste. I had the eggs Benedict and my friend had the crab cake burger. We both thought it was just ok, nothing special. There might be better things on the menu but doing an eggs Benedict well is usually a good indicator of the quality of the food. Maybe just me? Welp, we decided to get drunk instead and then everything was better lol. I might give another go for dinner just because they were so nice. :)

Yelp
Went here for dinner with a friend. We ordered the zucchini chips as an appetizer. They were bland. Definitely needed a touch of salt. The tzatziki dip it came with was refreshing. I ordered the salmon entree, which sadly was also bland. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The 3 stars are coming from the great service. They were fast and didn't rush us out, but restaurant also wasn't that busy. They had a live band playing as well if that's your thing.

Yelp
Veranda was a place me and my sister went to try when all of our other options were not available. We walk into an empty restaurant with table cloths dating back to the first civil war. The place smelled like oil stains and cobwebs, with an array of ancient vases up on shelves. I ordered a spinach pie and my sister ordered the salmon. Upon ordering our waiter apparently double shifted as a body guard in which he circled the premises staring at us and whistling. Great, dinner and live music. The whole time while waiting for our order, all staff took turns staring at us the entire time from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Then the food arrives, or should I say my chum bucket order gets delivered. I dont even think Plankton himself would serve me that. My spinach pie was drenched in so much oil I thought that soon American troops would invade the area. My sisters fish was pulled out from the 2010 golf of Mexico's oil spill, and soon it would start to speak English. It was to the point where we didn't even have to drink any water to take the food down. This, paired with the circling and whistling made for a great ambiance. Safe to say we went to IHOP right after. The good thing about this place is that when I hear whistling I know im by Veranda.

Yelp
Normally a great spot for a weekend brunch. The atmosphere is nice with indoor or outdoor seating; The service is usually great and the food normally on point. This last visit left a little more to be desired. I ordered the American Breakfast with Sausages and my friend had the Eggs Benedict, the potatoes were barely seasoned and barely crispy is most areas. The Eggs Benedict's were over-cooked lacked the runny yolk it's supposed to be. Will probably come back again still, but very disappointed at the food this time around specially when it was very good before. Hopefully the next visit is better.

Yelp
Came her for brunch this holiday weekend. Traffic was light probably because of it. There is street parking available. The cafe was fairly easy to find on Northern Blvd. Had the avocado toast which very good. My other companions had the Greek frittata which was ok and they found bland. The California omelette was very good. As long as we were not sitting by the speakers, we were able to converse comfortably. Service was attentive and efficient. There is a credit surcharge. Folding patio doors open to plenty of outdoor seating. It is away from the bustle of Bell. Will be back!

Yelp
I took my friend for lunch to celebrate after her graduation. The ambiance was nice , the restroom was fresh and clean, which is a big deal for me where ever I dine. It took a while before we were served even though they weren't crowded. We ordered a crab cake sandwich and my friend ordered a grilled chicken sandwich to our drinks. The crab cake sandwich was a joke , there was no crab meat in the patty and it had no taste. My friend's chicken sandwich was tasteless , the grilled chicken was hard and dried out. We were very disappointed and leave hungry because we were able to eat what was served. First and last time in this joint.

Yelp
WISH I COULD LEAVE LESS THAN ONE STAR!! My two daughters took me to Veranda on Mother's Day 2024. We had a lovely dinner, as usual & spent including tip over $400. At this time there was supposed to be a fourth person joining us. Reservations had been made for windows seat( which is a table for 4 & not guaranteed) when we arrived the window was not available. So Nick (the manager) asked if we would mind a table away from the window. We were fine with that. During our cocktails we received word the 4th person would not be joining us We had a couple of cocktails, then appetizers, then Entree, then desert. Everything was great until the manager Nick, approached us & in a loud voice said"Are u leaving now in a very nasty tone, You have taken up too much time at this table for 6." Mind you he seated us there. "Have some consideration for the people on line waiting to get in." WHAT? How about respect for your customers or is Veranda only concerned with how many people they can cram in. This was so embarrassing since Nick stands about 6'3" tall, so everyone around us could hear him. Mind you, he waited till we received our check. Christo's was our waiter. Very nice, but we did ask him why such rudeness & he said Nick is always like this. He seemed to think we asked for this table & Nick was annoyed over it. We paid our bill & asked for name & number of head manager which Cristos said he would have him call us. NEVER DID. We called backed two days later Christos answered & assured us he would have head manger call us. AGAIN till this day never heard from anyone. I don't know if Christo's never gave him the message or the manager just doesn't care how Nick is treating customers. We were regular customers but after this, will not be returning. What has happened at Veranda? We always enjoyed our time here. This treatment was Unprofessional, Uncalled for & Way Out of Line. We were Mortified & Nick ruined our Mother's Day. Beware Veranda has changed considerably. A very dissatisfied Customer. B. Barrett PS Did u know for Mother's Day they Added an extra 10% Onto Brunch. I was told that when speaking with them on the phone. The reason they gave We have to put extra staff on. REALLY??

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent service. There really isn't much more to say!!! Nick the manager is super nice and they are very accommodating when we go there with a group of elderly people after holding memorial services twice a year at the war monument down the block. Food is consistently good year after year and the service is excellent. Two Yums Up!!!!

Yelp
Great food and superb atmosphere!! The Waite staff is second to none. Great variety of menu. Great music on Saturday evening.

Yelp
Oh boy. I really wanted to like this place! It's a beautiful restaurant located right across the street from Mercedes' Benz Helms Bro in Bayside. I came with my grandmother and we tried a handful of items on the breakfast menu. What was upsetting is that I ordered the eggs Benedict but the restaurant kept messing up my order. Both times the eggs were over cooked and weren't runny like eggs Benedict is suppose to be. I thought it was suppose to be a poached egg? Correct me if I'm wrong haha! But the restaurant did try to make it right. They brought out a new eggs Benedict but unfortunately it was the wrong one. They weren't super busy either so I was super confused why they kept getting the order wrong. All in all this restaurant is a solid 3!

Yelp
This was a cute Mediterranean spot. We sat outside on the nice day! The waitress checked on us often which I liked. The food looked appeasing to the eyes. I got hot tea and crab cake burger with fries. When I asked for more hot water, she came out with a small "pitcher" that I could refill my cup.
google avatar

Keyla S.

Yelp
Spacious restaurant with friendly service. I like that the tables are not on top of each other so you can have a nice conversation without hearing your neighbors. They don't rush you and really allow you to enjoy your meal and conversations. The food is also very good. I've been here for dinner and brunch and the have a nice selection of options for both menus. The zucchini chips are delicious. Also enjoyed the risotto croquettes last time we went. Ok
google avatar

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Excellent brunch and the service is excellent, love the ambiance of sitting outside. The also have a special price menu which has delicious food on it. I would definitely go again.

Yelp
Their brunch never fails to impress (the Mediterranean omelette and the California omelette are awesome!), service is always good and it's always a good atmosphere whether you sit inside or out!

David G.

Yelp
Excellent. Couldnt be better. Had my 2 yr old grandaughters birthday and we had brunch with a party of 8. Ordered Mediterranean salad ,fried calamari ,risotto croquettes and zucchini chips for appetizers . All were excellent. Omelets ,pancakes ,burgers for main course were all on target. Service was excellent and included cutting a birthday cake and serving at the table. Very pleased with this establishment!

Irene V.

Yelp
We had brunch and ordered lemon ricotta pancakes that i enjoyed. But didn't like the taste of Aperol Spritz. We also gad the tuna tartare with avocado, i find salty. Had too much soy sauce. Service was good and we liked the ambiance

Yelp
Veranda restaurant was incredible. The staff were amazing and I was extremely thankful that they had valet parking as I'm disabled. We went for a lunch get together. The food was amazing. I had THE BEST RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE I have ever had. I highly recommend this place

Yelp
Came to brunch with my girlfriends for brunch. Was very excited to try since the reviews are 4 stars. We all left highly disappointed. If it wasn't for the attentive service and nice ambiance I would have them one star. Octopus- very fishy. Strong seasoning (prob to cover the fishy taste. Burger- over cooked. The only thing that saved it was the crispy bacon Ricotta pancake with blueberry- I didn't try it but the rest of the table all said it was very sour. Including a 6 yrs old boy so......yeah...that's that. Steak and eggs- over cooked and under seasoned steak. Didn't bother with the brown eggs Cali eggs Benedict - eggs were over cooked laying on top of saggy lettuce. Needless to say. Very embarrassed to have recommend this place. Will never return.

Laure S.

Yelp
Today was my first time at Veranda. A friend and I ordered Zucchini Chips, Fried Calamari, Burger platter and Arugula Salad with Grilled Chicken. With the exception of the Calamari, the food was VERY, VERY DELICIOUS AND PLENTIFUL. Food has become so expensive that any meal out should be special. Veranda is one of those places where the ambiance, food and service make it a great destination. I fully intend to go there again. But I won't order the Fried Calamari next time. The portion was very small and the taste was meh. For $21, the portion should have been at least twice the size and better seasoned. I hope Veranda's mgmt works to correct this.

Yelp
Nothing not to like about this place, though overpriced. Definitely an accommodate larger parties. Food was pretty good and service was also good. I can't explain it, but i not memorable. Not a place I left saying i can't wait to go back. But a solid meal. Chicken, fish, pasta -- all very good.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Great restaurant. I have been here twice. Food is good, service is great, and it's a nice classy atmosphere. They even catered to my 4 year old son and got him chicken nuggets and French fries and a chocolate milk when I asked. They have complimentary valet parking, but plenty of street parking if needed.
google avatar

Elle L.

Yelp
Spacious place. Big portions but still a bit overpriced. Good variety of alcoholic drinks. Not very attentive waiters/waitresses.
google avatar

Jamie L.

Yelp
Came for brunch with family on a Sunday afternoon. Food was mostly mediocre. Steak and eggs and the American breakfast were fine. Eggs Benedict, egg was completely cooked through and there was barely any ham or hollandaise. The French toast was flavorless and tough. Spent about $300 for 7 people on food that wasn't good. Probably will never come back here (for brunch at least). Definitely not worth the money. Restaurant is really big so can fit larger parties which is nice. Outside is pretty with lots of seating. Lots of street parking available around the restaurant.

Arden H.

Yelp
This Restaurant has a very nice ambiance and elegant service. Service can be a little slow but not too bad. Food is pretty good. Portions are decent.it is American /Mediterranean style. This is a nice place to take a favorite date or your husband or wife, for a romantic dinner. Prices are moderate.

Yelp
Stopped in at Veranda on Sunday morning for brunch. We chose this restaurant because they have outdoor dining and it was quite lovely. They seated us immediately and had heat lamps above the table to add some warmth. It was Sunny and chilly but it felt nice and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and the food was brought to the table quickly. Big portions with plenty of fruit for the pancakes and French toast. Our son's omelette was delicious. They were checking vaccination status for anyone who wanted to dine inside. We chose outdoors just to be safer. It was an enjoyable dining experience.
google avatar

Estela D.

Yelp
Really great drinks. Food was good, nothing exceptional but ok. Service is excellent, friendly and attentive staff. Ambiance is very nice- rrom enough that tables aren't on top of each other. There's outdoor seating too. Parking may be a challenge but they offer valet parking.

Nancy S.

Yelp
I have enjoyed eating lunch with my friends at Veranda on various occasions. It offers a good menu and a quiet and nice atmosphere with attentive staff. I have never been disappointed eating there and expect to try it for dinner sometime soon. I am very glad Bayside has Veranda!

Yelp
Food was great! Credit surcharge of 3% and 20% mandatory tip for parties over 6 were not.

Yelp
The food was average but like the outdoor seating area. A bonus was they have virgin cocktails. The server was very nice.

Yelp
Veranda is a great place for brunch on weekends. Veranda serves modern American dishes with a Mediterranean flair through their ingredients. From American classics like pancakes and omelettes to some more unconventional brunch offerings like fried calamari and grilled octopus, Veranda offers many dishes that will leave you feeling satisfied. I tried the California Benedict, which includes a toasted English muffin, avocado, fresh spinach, grilled tomato, spicy hollandaise sauce, and breakfast potatoes. The entire dish was excellent, as I had wanted a lighter brunch and the California Benedict was perfect for that. You get a wide variety of delicious veggies with the spinach and tomato while still getting some savory and buttery goodness due to the nice slabs of avocado they put on the English muffins. The eggs were excellent and with the hollandaise sauce, everything came perfectly together, as the sauce was savory, creamy, and extravagantly rich. The breakfast potatoes helped round out the meal and they were crispy and had the right amount of salt. I also had the fried calamari, which was also very good, as though it was fried, the calamari was not heavy and honestly quite refreshing with lemon juice squeezed right on top. A side of marinara sauce is provided as well to give a savory and slightly tangy flavor to the calamari. My favorite part about Veranda though has to be the hospitable staff, as they made sure to check if everything was okay and attended to every request we had. Though there were a lot of people having brunch that early afternoon, multiple staff members would come and check in on us, making sure that everything is okay. If you're looking for a good brunch, Veranda is a nice place to check out, as they have plenty of dishes, so there's something for everyone! The service is excellent and the food is great as well. When it's nice outside, eating outdoors in their patio makes for a beautiful atmosphere.

Jee Lee T.

Yelp
Great local place for brunch especially sitting at the outdoor patio area. Love it. Food is so delicious and fresh.

Kerri V.

Yelp
Sunday brunch. Pleasantly surprised! Food was good, nice ambience and vibe. In my neighborhood so will definitely go back for dinner.

Kar Fai C.

Yelp
I've walked by multiple times, but this is the first time I've stopped by to eat here. So glad that I did! Today is the first day that it's warm enough to sit outdoor without a jacket. There is a nice outdoor dining area. A few of the tables have heat lamps, and we were asked multiple times if we wanted to have it turned on for us. The service was attentive but not over bearing. The food was great! We went with the "early dinner" special, which includes an appetizer, main course, and a dessert. We got the Mediterranean and Greek salads. Both were perfect. The chicken with gnocchi was amazing. We liked it more than the salmon (also good). Definitely get the Greek yogurt topped with blueberries. The baklava was also delicious. Would highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Darya S.

Yelp
I came here for a bridal shower brunch! They reserved a nook inside for one table and there longer tables in the main area for the guests. It was out in the open where everyone could see the party, but we kind of had our own space to hang out and take photos. We had a pre-set menu, which included coffee or cocktails, appetizers for everyone to share, an entree for everyone, and Napoleon cake. Of the appetizers, there was one dish of zucchini chips that were to die for - and they weren't fried, so I went to town! I ordered the grilled chicken salad, which was enough to take home, but it wasn't something I particularly enjoyed. The chicken was great and plentiful, but the salad part was super greasy. Other people got entrees like the omelette and French toast, which they seemed to enjoy. I really liked the coffee with their almond milk! The service was very professional and attentive. Whatever we needed, they were quick to provide. Thy handled the big party well. However, one thing to be cautious about is the valet parking: it wasn't even that full inside, but they had no more space for my car. So arrive early to make sure they got you. It's a great space for small events like showers and birthdays!

Sherry B.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent. The live music was amazing. Such a wonderful vibe for a Saturday night. Drinks are on point. Must visit spot in bayside.

John F.

Yelp
Our families go restaurant in queens . Hasn't let in down in 15 years . Food is always good , service is impeccable and the outdoor dining is a nice change once in a while . Honestly could not recommend this restaurant more highly .

Yelp
Very good food, service was great the waiter stands away but keeps a eye on the table. Very polite. I loved the idea of eating outside, it's enclosed by trees and gardens a real veranda spacious garden eating. Could be a very romantic setting, or a relaxing couples night out, easy to have conversations without noise. Loved it.

Rita B.

Yelp
Good ambience and very spacious indoor and outdoor seating! The mussels were very tiny even though we were told before ordering that they were large. We sent it back and ordered the calamari which was another disappointment. It was not crispy and very chewy. A bit pricy for the quality of the food. Not sure I'll go back!!
google avatar

Christos A.

Yelp
I really like this place. The service was a little slow, but it was very busy. The food was abundant and satisfying and also very tasty. Me and my party of four tried a bunch of different menu items and got to share everything with one another leading to everybody enjoying all of our selections. Great Decour with really huge windows and vegetation, plant life, and it's overall pretty quiet to the exception of family screaming and taking pictures with each other. I recommend this place because it's conveniently located with tasty food great service next to core in ample street parking.

Debbie J.

Yelp
Back to 4 stars based on my companions' enjoyment of Veranda's service and food. Mine would be 3 stars as my meal was incomplete. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. No lemon or ricotta could be found. Asked for berry sauce on the side. No berry sauce on the plate. Asked about the lemon ricotta and was told it was in the pancake (UH, NO!!!) Pancakes were very good, but not what I ordered. My friend's halloumi frittata was outrageously good and other orders of French toast and a grilled chicken sandwich were satisfying. A very good and generous side of well done bacon. Excellent iced coffee as well.

Yelp
3.5 stars for overall dining experience. 4 stars for the food. However, for the side eye and eye rolling we got from our waiter Greg, I'm not upping the star count any further. this was the evening of June 27, 2018. Up front: I've been here many times over the years and have always liked this place. I've often suggested it to friends too. This poor service was noticed by my entire group and unfortunately, they commented that they liked the food but not the service as well. I made a reservation for a party of 10 a week in advance; requested to sit outside and Management was very accommodating too but sadly, rain was in the forecast and we ended up inside. The main reason I selected Veranda was to sit outside on a nice summer evening. Oh well. My party started with a slew of appetizers first (about 6 plates) and we wanted to wait to decide on entrees or full dinner fare. The waiter was not keen on that I guess. He quipped, "just appetizers?" and the eye roll started as well as the 'tude. I responded with "For now, yes, appetizers and drinks...I'll keep a menu here. We'll order more when we decide". SMH. As the food arrived, each of us took one plate after the other and passed it around - a sampling of everything. Our favorite of the evening (I always order this when I come, it's the best) were the zucchini chips. They were crisp and light. Very airy and paper-thin (as described). Perfection. This is their signature dish...I've had it in many places, but Veranda makes it the best. Other must try: The platter of dips were the second favorite of the evening. There was plenty of pita triangles to go around to taste all four dips. Eggplant, Garlic, Hummus, and Tzatziki - all were on point. Hummus was the favorite of the four. The Wild Mushroom Ravioli - the brandy sauce was creamy and lots of mushrooms on top of the ravioli. Great flavor. The Chilean Sea Bass entrée - fingerling potatoes were ok, I liked the carrots and the fish was really good. I recommend this. Other items we ordered: Mini Burgers - were a tad dry but good for sharing Grilled Octopus - all agree we've had better, slightly overcooked, but liked the balsamic and roasted peppers. Risotto Croquettes - okay not great, sun dried aioli couldn't save it. Grilled Shrimp - a few liked it, I am allergic but it looked fine. Throughout the evening, we were drinking way more than we were eating I suppose. More eye rolls each time we ordered alcohol and not food. We went through two bottles of white wines (two different choices), a bunch of cocktails, and mixed drinks. Then for dessert, we capped off the evening with the brownies and ecmek. Plus a Baklava Dessert cocktail. It was all good on the sweets. So overall, food was great! Service was iffy at best. Each time Greg brought us our drinks, he made faces and gave us looks. Never a smile. He didn't properly serve us our wine either and when he brought the bucket to keep it on ice, he never once assisted us with refills. We barely got refills on our water. Tsk. Tsk. Don't get me wrong, I shall return...I like this place. But if I get him as a server again, I will request another. He didn't serve us well and we tipped him 20%. He didn't deserve it on principal but we will always do right given it was a large group.

Yelp
I came here real late for my birthday because I was craving some fancy food. I went at around 9pm on a Tuesday night and it was practically empty, so I knew that my friend rented this place out for me-- YAY! (jk it was just a rlly late time lol but if ur looking for some alone time, go late at night- they close at 11pm). They started off by serving us warm pita bread with 2 different types of sauces-- it was good! After looking through the menu, we decided to start off with a glass of classic red wine ($10/it was aii) and an appetizer of calamari ($14) which was actually pretty good-- slight crunch on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside. I liked how it came with bits of squid on the side. For the main course, I opted for the shrimp diablo ($28) and my friend got the wild mushroom ravioli ($23). I have to say that the shrimp diablo was good, but it was honestly nothing special or set apart from other pastas I have tried. The ravioli, on the other hand (though it looked like a small portion) was incredibly good and filling! Overall, I would say that this place is worth a shot because of the Mediterranean vibes (I felt like I was in a different city!!) and there is also a nice outdoor seating area, so for the vibes I give it a 10/10. For the food, everything was good but I do feel like there are better places for the money that was spent. You should check it out though if you have a bit of $$ to spend and want to go for a trip!!! ;)

Yelp
Well that was disappointing. Don't believe the hype folks, even as nice as this place is w/ their outdoor patio. I was surprised at how the food wasn't that great, not really worth what you're paying for. I couldn't believe that it was so difficult to get an omelet made w/ the ingredients you wanted. I mean you have this mix premade already? Ew, why is that? How are you not making things fresh by customer order? I know it's not a make your own omelet station, but give people the opportunity to remove or change a food item. Not only that but if you're going to have an item that requires maple syrup, why are you serving maple syrup in little packets that you would get from McD's? How totally wretched, what kind of patrons want that considering what is being charged. To make it even worse, you don't even list that you have real maple syrup, after I asked the manager or whoever basically told me that & blew it off. An upcharge for maple syrup is ridiculous it shoul dbe offered, flat out. Save yourself the grief people & go elsewhere. The only semi-decent thing was the service.

Yelp
It's a big space so it doesn't feel like tight. The waitstaff is very attentive which we liked but then again charging city prices is the service you'd expect. Our favorite was the vanilla challah French toast and Bloody Mary.

Yelp
Fantastic dining experience. The best wait staff in all of the tri state area. We got the special lamb shank over paparadelle pasta in December. All around lovely food. Recommend the Thai coconut mussels, dip platter and the fresh Branzino when available. Shout out to Dino!

Yelp
The portion obviously got smaller compared to last year, price went up and not very tasty, food was not prepared as good as it used to be, the woman who I was dealing with was not friendly at all, maybe it's because I am not white, I don't think I will go back to this restaurant again

Yelp
Came on a Sunday night in February. I had a redervation but it was relatively slow, maybe 3 other tables or so. Service is attentive and friendly. Food was good but nothing particularly outstanding. Overall, I would return if my friends asked or something. But I wouldnt particularly crave it on my own.

Yelp
I was always a fan of Veranda but they're doing a fantastic job serving us food and drinks in a safe and clean environment during this long pandemic. Once you walk inside their enclosed garden area and away from northern Blvd you will forget that you're in the middle of a busy street but you will feel like you're away at a resort for dinner. My lambchops cooked medium were absolute perfection and the drinks were very well made.
