It is as if the Holy Trinity thy self, has crafted this beautiful fusion with thy own hands. Delivered upon us, a taste, that has never been explored, until now. The incredible flavors in every bite, exceed what was thought to be possible, from even the last bite alone!!! There is a chance, a slim one I must admit, that this dinner was copied, from an ancient lost scroll, now found, decoded, and delivered to us, The Last Supper. Drinks - 10/10 Birria Dumplings = 13/10 Beef Cheeks = 🤯🤯470/10 Octopus Dish = 🤯 100000/10

Went here for the pancakes and they did not disappoint. They had churro pancakes and were gracious enough to make my son plain pancakes since that's all he wanted. Beautiful presentation and great taste. Equipped with a very nice seating area. They have a limited menu and a great looking bar. Definitely a must try if your in downtown Austin.

Google
A Must-Visit Spot in Austin! Michael the bartender at Verbena is truly exceptional, the most knowledgeable mixologist I’ve encountered. He not only crafts the most authentic, perfectly balanced cocktails (his Last Word with fresh-squeezed juice is a standout!), but he also welcomes you with warmth and shares fascinating insights into the history of the spirits he uses. The ambiance at Verbena is top-notch: clean, stylish, and inviting. The staff is genuinely friendly, making the entire experience feel special. Whether you're a local or visiting Austin, Verbena should absolutely be on your list!

Google
Verbena was a perfect pick for my wife's birthday this year. The open picturesque space mixed with shareable dishes made for a great evening with family and friends. Our server was nice and very helpful with suggestions that we may have overlooked. Our food was beyond delicious with flavors out of this world. Although this wasn't our first choice, it will definitely be going forward. I highly recommend Verbena Food & Drink for your next Austin visit.

Google
Conveniently located in the lobby of the Canopy hotel, Verbena is the perfect location for both a quick bite or a nice meal! We visited twice for breakfast and had a great experience both times. The menu had a good variety of simple, healthy staples and inventive, more indulgent plates. I really liked their open concept kitchen and patio seating.

Google
Michael, the bartender what can I say… He is a gem in the making. He should definitely be employee of the month. He was so informative of all of the menu items on the menu. He introduced us to many new cocktails that we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. He was so Knowledgeable about cocktails, and where certain things came from I was just blown away. He only works during the week. This is a Thursday that we’re meeting him. I really wish he was here for the weekend because we would definitely be back just to see Michael. My first trip to Austin has been amazing with the start. Thanks to Michael. Thank you for the amazing cocktails. !!! top-notch bartender

Google
Dawn was amazing! She recommended the blueberry fig flatbread and it was astounding! The service was great. She let us hang out and chill without much contact, knew exactly when we needed refill on drinks and attention! We’ll be back.

Alexandra Kienle

Google
I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant! We had our first lunch of our trip here, and we're super happy that we did! First, Kimber, our server, recommended an entree adjustment that really made the meal! Then, she gave us a written list of insider tips to enjoy our trip even more. Last (or first???), it was Wine Wednesday!!! All wines at half price. The food was unique in a great way, delicious, and colorful. Give them a try! You will thank me!

Yelp
Came here a few times during our stay in Austin because of their food and service. Reggie and Joshua are super nice and friendly and gave us so many tips of what to order and where to go afterwards. It was really lovely to meet them. It is nice that they have different menus for different times. They have a brunch, happy hour, and dinner menu. We ate there all three times to try it out. Everything was delicious. And the ambiance was clean, cozy ,and relaxing

Yelp
Sad to see this formerly great restaurant end up like this. Maybe 3 other tables in use at 7:30 on a Friday, and the food gives a clue as to why. On the positive side, the Rosemary's Baby Daddy cocktail was an excellent and original take on the mezcal cocktails you now see everywhere in town. And the pork-infused bean dip was delicious. Beyond that, the dos moles chicken was decent; the scallops not nearly interesting enough for a $45 entree; the glazed carrots a jumbled, overcooked, oddly flavored mess; and the prosciutto flatbread drowning in tzatziki sauce a bad idea that never should have made it past the chef's first tasting. Even the spiced chocolate cake ruined its good flavor with a texture as dry as particle board. The change in exec chefs and hard turn to a Mexican menu certainly looks like a major mistake based on our previous visits compared to this most recent experience. Austin has way too many excellent options at this higher price point for this to survive in its current form. Hope the hotel will find a restaurant worthy of this gorgeous space.

Yelp
This place came recommended so my group of 4 decided to try it on a Friday night. Indoor seating wasn't available so we sat outside in the courtyard next to some cozy heating lamps. It must've been an off night as a server didn't come by for at least 20 mins, not even to bring any water. We ordered a few different dishes, but sadly they all missed the mark. The pulpo had a predominantly burnt flavor, though it was dressed up in a citrusy green sauce and flower petals for color. The aguachile was citrusy, but lacked any salt to counterbalance it. The carnitas were too salty to eat and the barbacoa had no flavor despite having consomme and a side sauce. The inside of the restaurant looked cute though and the only highlight here was their espresso martini.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant!!! So much open lighting, I loved it!! Our server, (Preston was his name I think?), was so sweet and patient with us!! The food was all so tasty and reasonably priced for the quantity. I'd hold off on their iced lattes, super watered down. They bring them to you in a large glass but can tell they taste very diluted. Otherwise, would come here again!

Yelp
Attended an event at Verbena in the Canopy Hotel on W 6th Street. Nice venue. Cannot comment on the food/beverage at Verbena, we did not partake of the menu. The event was a wine/food pairing thing, and the little bits we tasted were good. The staff did a good job with service. Good vibe to the place. Good for a private event.
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
A review way overdue because I feel so many people need to know about this place. As we sat with drinks in our hands at a patio bar on West 6th Street, conversation on where to eat within walking distance fluttered in the air. My cousin visiting from Dallas happened upon this place in his search and next thing I know BAM - here I am sitting at fine dining at it's finest on West 6th. The place was swank, the waiter was excellent, the food...insert emoji of an Italian chef kissing their fingers - "Al bacio!" This place takes ingredients to the next level. Not only do they have quality ingredients for a base, but then added even more layers. There is definitely an art to take something simple that would be good on it's own and add ingredients and still hit that perfect umami without being too umami.

Yelp
I love a good happy hour, and Verbena's was advertised at the entrance of the hotel. Since we were staying at the Canopy we decided to stop in one afternoon for a drink and some oysters. We were seated at the bar right away and the bartenders were great. We got a dirty martini for only $10 as well as a glass of house chardonnay for $7 - pretty great prices even for happy hour! They had some delicious sounding options for happy hour bites, including a burger with fries for only $12. We went with half a dozen oysters for $12 - they were delicious but a bit small - I'd definitely get a dozen next time. The bar is bright and airy with lots of large windows, and the seats at the bar were comfortable. We only stopped in once while staying at the hotel, but it's a great option for happy hour.

Yelp
I highly recommend the beef tartare and the angus tenderloin steak dish! 10/10 and the service there was top notch! I would definitely be back!

Yelp
We belong to a group called Second Sunday and this particular day we were the guests of Verbena. The restaurant and bar area are casual elegant modern all wrapped up in a gorgeous package. The drinks were good and a little on the pricey side. I had a frozen margarita but switch back the the classic mimosa. The food! Y'all, the food was amazing! I had a three sausage plate with bread. Everything looked good and they made us feel so welcome and treated us well. I only regret not getting my waiters name because I would love to give him a major 5 star! He was incredible and attentive.
google avatar

Ardie S.

Yelp
Super impressed with our lunch date at verbina today. From the beautiful surroundings to the attentive and over the top service, honestly couldn't have asked for a better total experience. I had the $19 Verbena Burger with fries served with a side of mayo which was one of the top 5 hamburgers I've ever had. My girlfriend had the $14 Baja Tacos, which were also super flavorful. We finished with the scrumptious $13 Chocolate Entremet topped with raspberries and a dash of dark chocolate The only unexpected issue we noticed was that the soft tortillas were a little stiff, somewhere between a taco shell and a tortilla. And perhaps that's intentionally how they're prepared. Environment here is clean, cool, and classy. And I can't stop the accolades for our waitress who was truly accommodating in every possible way. 5 and 1/2 stars rounded down to five because that's all Yelp will let me do. Highly recommended.

Yelp
It's a gorgeous venue but unfortunately the food is way over priced and the pescatarian/ vegetarian options are limited. The staff was phenomenal. My overall takeaway is that there are way better restaurants in this city to explore. This one could do better with the menu and cost.

Amanda V.

Yelp
Overpriced mediocre food with bad service. Don't waste your time. Plenty of great restaurants in Austin. Spend your money elsewhere.

Paul A.

Yelp
It's about the FLAVORS! I had the bronzino with black and white mole sauce. Very tasty and unusual. Courteous service and a greeting from the chef. If you are looking for cheap eats go elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
Eh, nothing to write home about. It was pretty standard restaurant. Wasn't bad wasn't spectacular. Super cute atmosphere, love all the greenery around as well. The service was not bad but wasn't great. She was "friendly" but the host filling waters came by more then she did. The food itself is also pretty standard run of the mill. The chicken was definitely NOT worth $35 as it was pretty bland and the potatoes were more moist than the chicken. Overall, probably convenient for people visiting and wanting a standard simple meal but other than that I wouldn't send people here purposefully.
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
Limited menu for Christmas Day; service was friendly and professional, and the cocktail/wine list was extensive and promising. The restaurant space offers high ceilings, an open kitchen, clean modernist decor and enough space between tables to provide privacy for conversation. Parking is available around the block in a private gaPerhaps I expected too much on a popular holiday. I hope to make a second visit in the near future, when the usual menu is available.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Overall a mediocre experience Chicken had some parts that were dry Shrimp were not the best choice Drink was pretty good Service was really good and attentive Place was very clean Stayed in hotel above restaurant so very convenient Honestly will probably only return for bar and oysters next time

Yelp
Brunch was needed on a very nice Saturday afternoon and Verbena wound up being our destination around 1pm. Very nice looking place as I believe it is part of a Hilton hotel. I loved the bar area and the kitchen space. We got a table by the windows as it made for a nice backdrop. Analicia was our server and she was very lovely and always nearby when we needed her. Menu looked good and the Chicken Mole Hash caught my eye immediately. The dish included breakfast potatoes, shredded chicken, mole, poached egg, green onions, radish and queso cotija. This dish was very good and I took all of it down when I didn't think I would lol. I washed it all down with a Life on Mars cocktail and later a glass of rose gold rose'. Good spot to hit up for brunch as it was not hard to get a reservation 2 hours prior. If your brunch runs too long, you are able to sit at the bar while they close down and prep for the dinner crowd. Pretty cool!

Yelp
This is a new restaurant right on 6th street below the Canopy hotel. Parking can be hard in the area, but it seems they offer some options. The place is beautiful with a nice atmosphere and modern decor. Their patio is very pleasant. Perfect for fall or spring weather. I wasn't hungry, so I decided to go with the hamachi crudo which was nice and refreshing, but it is a very small plate. Hubby went for the filet and as you can see in the picture it was perfectly cooked. He did not care much about the mushrooms which were nice, but had too much butter, imho. My friend had the ceasar salad and was happy with her choice. For dessert I ordered the guava and cheese option, but it wasn't a hit at all. The flavors did not complement each other so I could just take one bite. Presentation wise, everything was fantastic. Maybe that's why I was expecting more on flavor, however I would definitely give it another try in the future.

Yelp
We had a wonderful brunch today at Verbena. This was our second visit, since we enjoyed the first. Great spot, terrific service , wonderful perfect Bloody Mary, delicious breakfast. We really enjoyed the manager, Craig Judy. He was very welcoming, checked on us several times, we enjoyed our conversation and his attention to detail. Thanks Craig and staff for such an enjoyable morning and start to our day. We will return soon.

Yelp
Wife and I came here for our anniversary and we had a really great experience. We were a little skeptical because it's part of the Canopy hotel, but we ended up being really impressed. The ambiance feels posh, modern, and classy. The service felt upscale. We had barbacoa de chivo and rabbit and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicate flavors. I think this place is a nice little gem to have in our city.

Ivan S.

Yelp
This is my second time here. Once for dinner and this time for brunch They have a good wine selection during dinner and also have the best Mac and Cheese Today for lunch I got a basket of pastries as an appetizer and they were 3 danish pastries. Flavor was incredible My wife ordered the lobster eggs benedict (Verbena Benedict) and I got the chicken mole hash We shared and the lobster was cooked perfectly the Benedict was my favorite thing to eat. They also had some crispy potatoes on the side and that was great The chicken hash was also good. I slight spicy taste and it was really filling I'd recommend the Benedict for the flavor and the hash for the protein/fullness Also the service was great during lunch. I forgot how it was for dinner

Lara M.

Yelp
It is quite chic and has lots of chics like myself :0D who love to be in the chicness

Renee L.

Yelp
A group of 10 of us came in and were able to be seated at the chefs table. We received complementary champagne and wonderful service throughout the evening. The rabbit was spectacular and would certainly recommend.
google avatar

Kira R.

Yelp
Beautiful space and kind servers. However, the quality of food for its price point is uncreative and bland. To offer Mexican/Seafood at this price in Texas is asserting that it is high quality, or high in quantity. Verbena is neither. Begin with an amuse bouche that was essentially corn in broth. Strange.
google avatar

Cassidy H.

Yelp
Came into Verbena on a last minute brunch. The location of this spot is perfect for a day out on West 6th. I got the oysters and then the burger, both were really good. I would say the best part about the oysters is the side of sauces they give you for them. Our server was really kind, the GM (assuming) was also super great and upbeat. The space is large and good for groups, they also have a great sized patio.
google avatar

Andrea F.

Yelp
Delicious food creative food, great service! It's a great go to when we stay at the canopy hotel.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Cute spot! I went here the day before valentine's day so they did have a reduced menu, but I still really enjoyed all of the food! I got the crispy chicken which was absolutely amazing, like fall off the bone amazing! I typically stay away from ordering chicken at restaurants, but next time i'm back, I will definitely be ordering it again! Also got the roasted carrots which were great! This place is tucked in between the bars on west 6th so it's a prime location if you're looking to get a drink after dinner, or they also have a nice bar with bar seating, tables, and even couches! I'd rec street parking or a nearby public lot as the valet is a bit pricey ($49)!
google avatar

Anita K.

Yelp
A pretty dining spot for breakfast and dinner attached to the Canopy Hilton hotel. Food was fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Marissa G.

Yelp
I went to Verbena to celebrate my birthday. I was very happy with everything. The atmosphere was very nice. The waitress was great and would check up on me and my husband often. The drink was sweet with a spicy kick. The food was awesome. The Avocado Bacon Salad was an unexpected treat and the Flatbread was good. The tomatoes were very tasty. The NY Strip was cooked medium well which is just how I wanted it. The Short Rib was very tender. The desserts were very good. You can't go wrong with cheesecake. The Sweet Pear was an added gift. We didn't order it but the chef sent it to us. It was really good. I would recommend this for a special occasion.

David C.

Yelp
Does not live up to the hype. The food taste does not match the atmosphere. Atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, the service was great, and the food presentation was nice. The meal on the other hand, oysters were the smallest I've ever seen, the tenderloin was cooked properly but didn't have much seasoning, and the lamb was honestly bland in flavor and difficult to eat because it was on the bone. Maybe just a nice spot for evening cocktails and not an anniversary dinner. Went back for breakfast the next morning. Hands down the best breakfast food I've had in a while!
google avatar

Elvira O.

Yelp
Dined at Verbena for dinner. The restaurant is located in downtown Austin and the decor is really beautiful. Open kitchen, white subway tiles, illuminated displayed bottles of wine. My family and I shared a few delicious apps: hummus, pita, and Moroccan meatballs. I ordered the Grandpa's Lemonade to sip. I love whiskey and I love ginger so the two paired nicely in this cocktail. My dinner did not disappoint. I had the Westfold Farms chicken which was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and fall-off-the-bone tender on the inside. Equally delicious and enjoyable was the bed of rice pilaf it was served on and the dried apricots mixed in adding a unique sweetness to go alongside the savory chicken. My boyfriend and I split a cheesecake which was incredibly decadent. Our family was not so lucky with their dessert. Avoid the baklava they said! Overall a lovely dining experience and looking forward to coming back. I'm told the brunch is even better. Highly recommend making a reservation.
google avatar

Kerri M.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and had a great experience! You can valet your car the hotel next door and they will comp the cost. It wasn't crowded, so it was easy to get a table for a larger group. I got the Baja tacos and they were yummy and reasonably priced for the portion size. Cute atmosphere and wonderful service.
google avatar

Trisha J.

Yelp
Anthony is the best! Best bartender, makes amazing bloody Mary's. Thank you Anthony for showing us amazing service. We will be back!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Super impressed with the food and service! World class, great atmosphere and something new has gone on because it wasn't like this last year. Highly recommend

Jean-Luc D.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed on 6th St. while in Austin for our anniversary. Our dinner here was a nice break from the bar scene while still being in the heart of everything. We loved our dinner and they helped make our anniversary special.
google avatar

Savannah H.

Yelp
Went to Verbena the first time for easter brunch! Service was fast and sat right away. The server was great, she was super nice and attentive! Got the Verbena Benedict which was delicious along with the Mexican Mocha. Would recommend both!! My friends got the churro pancakes, breakfast plate, and four cheese flatbread which was also great. Will be coming back to try dinner!!
google avatar

Katelyn S.

Yelp
I think the food was good but service was questionable. Biggest issue we had was we were offered sparkling or still water and we said sure to still water, just to be charged $8 on our check for a bottle of Acqua Panna that retails for $2. Completely unnecessary, tap water would have been completely fine! Every table that I could see had a bottle of this, so we weren't the only ones taken advantage of. Charging for something that is typically free without informing a patron of the cost just is ridiculous to me. I'd also mention, my fiance had a glass of sparkling wine that he had 1 sip from and it was taken from the table without being asked. Won't rush back.
google avatar

Xiao Z.

Yelp
The interior is pretty nice, modern decor and spacious. The brunch items are decent but also nothing too impressive imo. We had a ricotta pancake and a short rib hash. The pancake was not sweetened itself but very airy and fluffy, although a little bit dry imo, served with syrup on sausage patties. The short rib hash came with the scrambled eggs, the flavor was decent, the potatoes were very crispy. Overall it's a decent place to get some brunch. Also the price is reasonable.

Jenny P.

Yelp
Thanks to Chef Paolo, Chef Antonio and the Verbena team that made the foods and experience for us so amazing. The taste and the presentation are blew our minds, the foods was great and very creative and colorful. Special thanks to Rajiv, his service was very professional and super friendly, we enjoyed through out the meal. Thanks again and we hope to come back when we travel to Austin next time.
google avatar

Peter F.

Yelp
Went here with a party of six. The appetizers were so so. Meatballs were okay but pretty small, but the fried zucchini was not bad. Then again not great. The main courses were quite good. The salmon was good. The hangar steak was excellent. The pork shank was excellent. The chicken was also quite good. Overall, the flavors seems a bit more middle eastern influenced--which I'm not a big fan of--however they balanced well and it was fun to try something non-conventional for flavor profiles. Then 20% of total bill was added for gratuity, not the 20% off food only which we more commonly see. However, the service was quite good.
google avatar

Shem W.

Yelp
I had a great Sunday brunch experience here. We made 10:15am reservations and were seated immediately. We dined inside and loved the large airy space with a view of the staff preparing meals in the open kitchen. We ordered Bloody Mary's, Chicken Mole Mash, Verbena Benedict, and oysters. The food came out pretty quick and everything was delicious. I would definitely come back to brunch here.
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
I was looking for a last min Sunday brunch resy and Verbena was the only option. Menu looked good so I booked it and I'm so glad we did! First, I love the natural light. It's very airy and had a lot of seating considering it's a hotel restaurant. The service was top notch. Everyone who passed by us had a smile, attentive, and really helpful (we have a toddler so you can imagine the frequent requests we had lol). And best of all, the food was delicious! Short rib hash, ricotta pancakes, zucchini fritters, breakfast sandwich, and tacos (comes with chimichurri potatoes) were all delicious. Very surprised by this place and would return again. Location is further west on 6th so street parking was easy to find.

Yelp
Just one of your run-of-the-mill mediocre and overpriced Austin restaurants that is undistinguished and possibly only exists to feed tourists who care more about being downtown than eating good food. We met our friends here for brunch this past weekend because--quelle surprise!--there were a ton of reservations open. The decor is that ersatz tacky luxurious that you see in all places of this ilk. Coffees--hot and iced--are fine. One of us got the tuna bowl and while the tuna was fine, the rest of the bowl was just odd. Espellete? Where? The "gochujang" was likely sriracha laced with mayo served over QUIONA (NOT millet--they're not the same thing, y'all!) and a bunch of undressed alfalfa/kale on the side. The breakfast plate was fine--just your standard fare that's hard to mess up. Our daughter had the churro pancakes that were beyond cloying and had a bit of a rubbery texture--no fruit or acid on the plate to balance things out. Service was fine albeit a bit slow. Anyway! Nothing shockingly terrible here, but nothing to see either. Verbena is just part and parcel of what the dining scene here has (mostly) become: uninspired, pricy, and mediocre. Three stars since we don't even care enough to knock it down to two.
google avatar

Hannah Y.

Yelp
The crispy potato mille-feuille with bacon jam was truly unique and the Denver steak over béarnaise was delicious as well!! Verbena really knows their potatoes. We were seated in a lovely outdoor courtyard; a nice al fresco brunch spot in Austin. Dined: November 7, 2020

Meghan L.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible customer service. Walked in no one said hi or even acknowledged us. We ended up just walking out after 10 minutes of being ignored.

Judy B.

Yelp
Friends and I went for the margarita special, Kiana made one (two ) of the best I've had in a long time. The bar has great ambiance and several types of seating made sharing delicious quesadillas easy to do. Craig (GM) checked on us and was sincere in wanting us to have a great evening.

Macy G.

Yelp
This experience has been immaculate. The staff has given some of the most friendly and attentive service I have ever had, the food and drinks were outstanding. The service was on top of everything, Alicia, Kat, Joshua, Robert, Matthew, and Rajiv worked together very well from the morning breakfast shift to the dinner shift (thank you all very much). The general manager also made the experience unforgettable. This is one of my most favorite spots to eat in Austin. The aesthetic is warm and vibrant at the same time, upscale and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend visiting this place while you're in Austin.
google avatar

M B.

Yelp
5 star experience, Craig the general manager really took care of us-he was professional, hospitable and alongside all the other staff, helped to make our dinner a success. We had a big group dinner that was very loosely organized and we had a lot of hiccups in the process but still made it happen and it went great. Everyone really enjoyed their food (especially the chicken) and the cocktails were tasty and refreshing. Also, the atmosphere is stunning, probably the best part

Alberto M.

Yelp
I had a great time tasting the new winter menu , the food was delicious, the servers were very friendly, especially Floor Manager Craig who was taking care of me and my friends all the time , I definitely recommend this restaurant. :)
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
Overall, the restaurant is pleasant. Great atmosphere, good service and the prices are reasonable but I can't just can't help but find this place overrated. For instance, we ordered the avocado flatbread with arugula and unfortunately the dish just didn't "work". It lacked dimension, perhaps it needed chili or something but it was really bland. They did offer a vegetarian pasta that wasn't on the menu but other than that and the flatbread, there aren't really many great vegetarian options apart from salads and sides. Although I will say the Greek Salad was decent [4/5]. The wine list is decent as well, no french champagnes so speak of by the glass however which would have been a nice touch I probably wouldn't go back but we had a vegetarian meal so it might be one of those places that best for carnivores!
