Underrated and outstanding cocktails. The artistry and craftsmanship to create cocktails of this caliber is incredible. Wish I had this around the corner from where I live. This bar is stunning! The bartenders and host were very kind and friendly. You can tell just by watching the bartenders work that they are incredibly skilled. The atmosphere is very classy but relaxing. I only ordered one, but every drink we saw made looked like a work of art. I ordered an aqua regia and it was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. I would absolutely go again in a heartbeat.

The attention to detail in their drinks is unmatched—expertly crafted, balanced, and creative. The rotating menu keeps things fresh, so there’s always something new to try, but they also nail the classics. The ambiance is classy yet welcoming, making it perfect for a date night or a laid-back evening with friends. Service is top-notch, and the bartenders really know their craft. Great bar with great vibes and great, no, amazing cocktails. The servers and bartenders are all very friendly and professional. Drinks are delicious and unique without being gimmicky. Definitely recommend for an after dinner cocktail.

My wife had the steamed buns, which was pretty good. Not much going on the place was pretty dead for a Friday night. Party of six had a couple of bottles of wine martinis some decent cocktails. Not very busy, but it always took a while to get the drinks. Spoiler alert don’t get too loud or they’ll come over to your table and tell you to be quiet. Evidently they have a policy about having too much fun. Won’t be back.

Came to this bar for my sister's birthday and we brought her birthday cake with us. We asked for plates and forks. At the end of the night—after nothing was said or noted—the waiter rudely asked, “Who is going to be picking up the cake-cutting fee?” I was VERY confused and looked at him and said, “I have to pay a fee for cutting the cake that we brought?” He was snappy and said, “Yes, it’s very standard in most places to be charged for something like this.” I have never encountered this before, and I’ve definitely brought cakes to plenty of places for birthday celebrations. What’s even more astounding than his sassy, rude attitude was the fact that they didn’t disclose that it was going to cost $25 JUST TO USE PLATES AND FORKS. Then they blamed us moving tables for the “confusion.” Even though we had the same waiter the whole time. Keep in mind, between the 7 of us, we ordered over $200 in drinks—but the cake fee MUST be paid??? There wasn’t any confusion. It was just bad service. I honestly wouldn’t have cared if they had the fee—just tell us upfront and don’t gaslight me at the end of the night about it. The drinks are good here, but the “better-than-you” attitude from the waiter was very off-putting. The manager was kind and refunded us after I spoke with her, but the overall experience and the gaslighting about the cake-cutting fee definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Andy and the team were outstanding! The atmosphere was very nice but yet relaxed and inviting. They rescued us from a terrible bar experience nearby during dinner and delivered a memorable night with expertly crafted cocktails that were creative, balanced, but not pretentious. The menu offers something for everyone, and the staff know their craft inside and out. My wife and I sat at the bar and enjoyed a great evening of unique drinks and great conversations.

Cocktails as an art form! We stopped in for drinks on a Saturday night and were excited to see the creative menu, upscale vibes, and art deco decor. It truly was like stepping into another world from the suburban family-oriented Park Place shopping center! I ordered the Social Affair, which somehow tasted like coffee despite being completely clear. I also enjoyed the Ephemerality, which had a fresh botanical flavor and came with an edible flower. All of our drinks were truly unique, with a cool presentation and interesting flavor combinations. Highly recommend visiting and sitting at the bar so you can see these talented cocktail masters at work!

Great cocktail bar, probably the best one so far south in the city. Love the decor and ambiance, the servers are great, and the drinks are top notch. Little pricey but what would you expect in that location? The smokey popcorn is great and the smashburger is solid.

Verdigris is a great cocktail lounge in south Overland Park. It is a great atmosphere and perfect place for an after dinner date! The service is always high quality and they always provide great recommendations. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a high quality drink and also their snacks are great as well! (Check out the smoked popcorn)

Interesting place for cocktails. All the seating is a bit uncomfortable, hard chairs inside with backless couches outside. You have to secure your reservation with a non-refundable fee, but is applied to the tab. Selection of cocktails didn't seem overly creative and they were out of some menu items. There are some small plates available but mostly a place to grab a drink.

I stumbled into this spot while I was staying in the area and it was my favorite find. The drinks are so unique and fun experiences. They have a great variety of drink offerings so everyone can find something they like. I tried the Malachite shot, Grand Arcana and Social Affair. Grand Archana was easily my favorite but I would order any of them again! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. It's a quaint moody space with outdoor seating available for nice weather evenings.

My friend who recommended this place was spot on! The furniture and design of the restaurant is very classy and premium, a rare gem in the local food industry. In addition, I noticed they offered a unique cocktail selection that paired well with their food menu, which is something I personally enjoy. Luckily, the waiter took care of us, and he was extremely pleasant. From what I observed, he was polite and positive with all the tables he attended to. The establishment is appropriate for having a nice time and date night as well as a fun outing with a bunch of friends. Nevertheless, I would suggest contacting the staff to inquire about their offerings before making a visit, as the restaurant does tend to become loud.

okay i will say i think it's crazy that the reservation deposit is 15 dollars per person. so, i did not create a reservation and walked in. everyone was very nice and the ambiance is great to have a chat with a few friends. i enjoyed the cerana cocktail. they have a great assortment of cocktails to choose from their menu.

Terrible Experience -- Hidden Fees, Rude Staff, and Shady Charges Overcharged my tab - The final amount was more than what I signed for. *Hidden liquor tax - Not listed anywhere on the menu or disclosed beforehand. *Credit card surcharge - Automatically added without warning or consent. *Tip tampering - It looked like the tip amount was altered after I signed the receipt. Extremely shady. *Rude, dismissive staff - When I questioned the extra charges, they brushed me off like I was the problem. *Zero transparency - No signage, no explanation, just surprise charges at the end. There are too many honest spots out there to waste your time or money here. Shady billing, bad service, and no accountability. Never coming back.

Traveling to Overland Park for business and did not want to eat at yet another chain restaurant, so I found Verdigris online and decided to give it a shot. It was a Tuesday night and fairly quiet, but definitely a fun, modern, and upbeat bar. Music wasn't so loud you could not carry on a conversation, bartender was outstanding in both service and attitude, they have a great selection of drinks (both house specialities as well as bourbon choices), and the menu, while minimal, was fine for a quick drink and small meal. Definitely will become a repeat location anytime I'm in the area.

This is a fun cocktail bar that also offers food, it felt very upscale and a bit overpriced. They don't list that they have a happy hour on their site whatsoever but I did find out there is a happy hour 3 to 6, they offer three dollars off of select cocktails. Not a huge discount to be honest but it does help when their cocktails run about $18 each. I ordered the whiskey smash, which comes with whiskey, strawberry, guava, lemon, and Maraschino. The taste was there, but also, so was the ice. I couldn't believe how much ice was in my drink. It was so overfilled that the ice was almost falling out of my glass. I'm not sure I would find myself going back without happy hour going on. Cute place though!

I was meeting my customer and his wife here for cocktails prior to dinner at the Bristol. They waited 10 minutes without any service. I told them to leave and meet on the patio at Bristol to finish up their happy hour. We had a server on us as soon as we sat down. Big reason the Bristol is packed 7 days a week. We then had a great dinner in the dining room. Thought this place was going to be a home run. Won't try again.

I've been in the restaurant industry for 20 years, and I will only recommend places where I have an experience with a staff member that I would hire at my own restaurant. Andy is one of those wonderful professionals. I come to Verdegris specifically for that "Chicago" experience I need as someone who moved from Chicago to Kansas City. All the staff has been great-- but Andy I would hire at my own restaurant.

Ended the night here with my friends from day drinking. Due to this place from my last visit, I turned over a new liking to gin so I got the French 75, Thanks in advance ( wink) setting was cute and intimate service was great. Definitely will be back again.

Been here a few times and never disappointed. The bartenders are super friendly and so welcoming always. Personally I think sitting at the bar itself is the best spot here as you can see the drinks made in action. Great spot for a date night to grab a few drinks as well as some light food that is served also. Usually this is just our spot to grab a drink or two as it is more on the pricey side.

This is always going to be my top place for an afternoon / late night get together. Great ambiance, highly trained and attentive staff, perfect drinks and bites to pair.

This is an upscale cocktail bar with a sophisticated ambiance. It has few food bites to accompany the extensive and fun drink menu. Everyone gets "carded" so don't forget your ID or you will not be served (even if you are a senior citizen). The reservation system is complicated and a cc is charged for the reservation. They state they will put that credit back onto the check, however, when cashing out with separate credit cards they would "forfeit" my CC deposit if the bill was separated vs shared by everyone. It's an unnecessary complication to an otherwise lovely evening out. There has to be a way to smooth this out and make it an entirely lovely experience.

After hearing so many good things about this bar. Verdigris has been on my list of cockbars to visit . The vibe was perfect with super cute decor and great music. Tonight the music was a mix of pop & hip hop. I had a chance to order the Shrimp appetizer. It was great and full of flavor . This place gives off good vibes !

If you're wanting an upscale, but quiet atmosphere--- come for weekday happy hour! There were only a couple of parties there when we visited, but it started getting busier when we left before dinnertime. The drink selection is plentiful and it was my first time with a fog/dry ice drink which was super cool! Our drinks were definitely on the weaker side though. The prices can be high depending on the drink you get, but you're paying for an elevated experience. The carbonara portion was small, but delicious. Obviously, the interior is beautiful too. They change out their menu seasonally, so I'll definitely be back!

Amazing drinks but so loud inside. Possibly overpriced but the drinks are so strong so you need less haha. Very dark inside too, but still a fun spot to try!

Absolutely obsessed with this place. We had time to kill before a movie and Verdigris was still open despite it being late on a weekday. The "alchemy" theme in everything from the branding to the decor to the menu was perfectly on point. Ambiance was perfect for a date night, the drinks are creative and stunning, and the service was lovely. We had great conversations with Andy who also sold us on The Social Affair, a tequila based version of an espresso martini that I can't stop thinking about. Will be recommending it to everybody I know and can't wait to go again!

I stopped in here after an event for a cocktail and what a fun spot! The ambiance is cool and sophisticated, the drink menu is diverse and elegant, and the service was wonderful. I only stayed for the one quick drink, but hope to return. This place has the look and feel of a cocktail bar in the heart of the city but located in the 'burbs which makes it a fabulous option for folks that live in the area for an upscale date night without trekking into town.

Great presentation of cocktails, gorgeous minimalist atmosphere. Arrived at 3pm on a Tuesday, wanted to sit in the more private area (left of entrance) and waa told that was "reserved." We agreed to sit in the area and move at 4pm (when it was supposedly reserved) if needed. We stayed in this area the entire time. I mention the seating scenario because this was my first experience here, and it was a bit off putting to be greeted in this way when we were the only patrons in the place. Main seating area is veey echo-y, unless you're outside on the patio. Great for cocktail variety, but I would probably choose another place next time based on seating arrangement.

As you can tell by the photos the lighting was not phenomenal for photos ha! But everything else was spectacular. The drinks were delectable. Obviously a bit pricey but given the area and the vibe that is to be expected. Service was great. We sat on the patio and it was one of the rare Kansas nights that you can sit outside and not be sweating or freezing so we had to take advantage! The patio is heated so that was a plus. I wouldn't come here often just due to the prices but this is a wonderful place for special occasions or just a drink or two. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Felt like I got straight-up robbed. The bill was higher than what I signed for, with surprise charges like a liquor tax and a credit card fee that were never mentioned. RUDE and Nasty Staff. Pretty sure the tip was messed with too , didn't match what I left. Total scam , STAY AWAY from this place.

This is my first visit to Verdigris and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Bartenders Andy, Brody and Colton are consummate professionals and are well versed in a wide variety of cocktails not on the menu. The drinks are wonderful. As for the food, I had the crab dip. It has a bit of spicy bite to it but I enjoyed it. I sat at the bar so can only speak to that. The people I sat near were friendly and open to conversation, so how can I complain? Nice ambiance. Stop by!! These people are great.

So what can I start off by saying about this place... Umm, the drinks are AMAZING and include so many alcohols/ingredients that I've never heard of (seriously, I was on Google to figure out some of the ingredients). The service is great, and location is within an outdoor mall with a lot of cute shops. So let's talk about drinks. First of all, for a small place, they have a lot of drinks to choose from. The menu (at least for Spring 2022) was split into 4 categories: classic, rich, light, and imperial cocktails. Honestly, I have no idea what those words refer to, but the server was super knowledgeable about drinks and gave us suggestions from each of the lists of we were leaning in a certain direction. I got the South Hyde Park, which was super refreshing with Thai basil, serrano pepper, and lime--and to top it off, it had this amazing foam on top. It was a spicy but if you like a good spicy cocktail, it was really balanced. The other cocktails were given thumbs ups from my friends, even though some erre definitely not the colors that they assumed they'd be! While we went in for a quick drink before going to dinner, we also got the smoked popcorn, which was, quite frankly, MIND-BLOWING. I'm not usually a huge popcorn fan--yeah it can taste fine, but I'm not going out of my way to get it. However, if all popcorn was like this popcorn, then I'd be getting it all over the place. It had a great mix of spices on it, and it was super addictive. Cannot recommend the smoked popcorn enough! And I already mentioned this previously but I can't leave a review without talking about the service--it was fantastic and both of our servers were patient and shared recommendations and their thoughts with us (since of course I asked a lot of questions). The cocktails were on the same price point as most cocktail bars (but actually more reasonable than I would have expected). Looking forward to a chance to go back and try more cocktails next time I'm in that area!

We were looking forward to trying Verdigris but perhaps we came on a bad evening? It was not crowded and we sat down quickly but the service was slow and the drinks were quite expensive. I am all for a fun cocktail but $25 for a Manhattan? It better be the best Manhattan ever! I did enjoy the Bramble cocktail. It was refreshing and perfect for a summer evening on their patio. My husband first ordered the Oaxaca Old Fashioned but something happened behind the bar because it was so spicy that even he could not get past the first sip. The only explanation was that perhaps they had splashed some capsaicin drops in it from another order. He then ordered the Manhattan which was fine. This is the place to go if you're looking for dramatic, theatrical cocktails but be aware you will pay a hefty price.

Ambiance - 100% Prices - 80% Music - 110% Drink taste - 80% Service - 100% Vibes were great. The bar radiates such a warm light and the lo-temp music is so relaxing. The service isn't pushy but is very attentive. We ordered three drinks each and 3 food items and paired together it was the perfect tasting menu. Will definitely be back to try more drinks!

Obsessed with this place. Beautiful interior of greens and golds that is based off of the bar's namesake. I think their drinks are better crowd pleasers and I was happy with all of the ones I tried on multiple visits. Decent food as well! Also they have a BEAUTIFUL bathroom, like stunning.

Every drink we ordered was divine - an art form really. We sat at the bar and got to see how they made each drink close up. The drinks were amazing!! Expensive but strong- worth the money in my opinion. They made us feel like VIP guests- the staff was very attentive. Verdigris is the perfect place to go for a date night, girls night, etc if you're looking for a sexy vibe with amazing music, gorgeous ambiance, and bartenders are skilled and it's clear that they love what they do! They always go above and beyond to make sure you get a drink you won't forget. They will make something off the menu and it looks as artistic and tastes just as delicious as the signature drinks on their menu. Small bites are perfect size for light bites but pack all the deliciousness you could hope for to eat while you sip your gorgeous drinks.

Make a reservation! We called ahead to see what the wait was and they told us 45 minutes. We thought surely it wouldn't take that long, sure enough 45 minutes later we were seated! You have to be in person to put your name on the list! It was a fun little bar, with seating large enough for a party of 6! The hummus was good!! Served with a variety of picked veggies and delicious pita. The horchata cocktail was yummy!! I would definitely come back with a set reservation! Good service and prices are what you'd get anywhere else.

Overpriced!! I love a trendy cocktail bar as much as the next person, but one cocktail and one appetizer for $52? During HAppY HouR!!?!?!? I won't be back. So many other places to go and spend half that amount.

Too noisy, the drinks were pricey for being full of ice. So don't go if you want a lot to drink but for the social aspect. They were on top of the service. The drinks were very unique. The smoke one had too much smoke.

Another outstanding establishment from the owners of The Monarch and The Mercury Room. They have every detail of the cocktail bar experience completely perfected, beyond your expectations and wildest dreams. From the lovely and sophisticated smell when you walk through the door, the friendly and knowledgeable staff, the exceptional and unique drink menu, and the overall ambience and vibe. We had an amazing time here. Their drinks are so good, I wish I could have more than a couple in one setting. But just an excuse to come back again!
