Editing after returning for food. Only come here for drinks. The food is just okay. Given this place is in coal drops yard, I expected much more. The first time I came here, we just ordered cocktails, and they were great to sit on the terrace and chat. The second time we came here, we sat for food and I was disappointed. The starters were pretty good. We got the meat board and the croquettes. The mains were not what I expected. The lamb shoulder was dry, and the rigatoni was a bit bland.

Situated in the centre of Coal Drops Yard, it would be easy to walk past this place. A good sized outside seating area with indoor cafe-style seating area. It is set up well for food and drink to both sit in and takeaway. Efficient service. A relaxing place to take time out and socialise. Outside heaters if the weather is cold.

For toilet you must use the public dirty ones, in a place that sells vermouths at 10£ a glass, sorry not a glass, 10£ an empty glass, feels not ok. I honestly liked the idea, but sadly the realisation is a bad replica of a tapas place. With low quality facilities and overpriced food.

It is a little gem with an amazing choice of vermouths and delicious food.

We recently had a mixed experience at Vermuteria. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a cozy and inviting ambiance that made for a great setting to enjoy a meal. The décor was charming, and the overall vibe was relaxed yet lively, making it a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. However, the service left much to be desired. Our server was inattentive and seemed disinterested throughout the meal. It took quite a while to get our drinks and even longer for the food to arrive. When we did receive our orders, there was a lack of warmth or enthusiasm from the staff, which detracted from the overall experience. The food itself was good. However, the highlight was supposed to be the tiramisu, and unfortunately, it was a real letdown. What was served didn't resemble a traditional tiramisu at all, lacking the rich, creamy layers and coffee-soaked savoiardi that one would expect. It felt like a pale imitation of the real thing, which was disappointing. In summary, Vermuteria has a great atmosphere and good food, but the service needs significant improvement, and the tiramisu, in particular, is something to avoid if you're expecting the real deal.

Nice atmosphere if you just had drinks, limited food choice for dinner! The portion size is quite small for the price! A crab meat on toasted sourdough was £12 for literally 3 bites. Rather slow service, had to flag waiter down to take our order.

The food was very good. Slow cooked lamb shoulder was delicious and tender. For mushroom risotto I liked it but I wish it had some more flavourful mushrooms in it. For the price, it felt cheaper mushrooms overpowered the dish and made it quite bland. The friend I went with was celiac and unfortunately the waitress wasn’t sure which dishes were GF and which ones weren’t. Thankfully the menu indicated the food which was not GF (the ones that were GF were left blank). This confused us about the desserts as it looked all desserts were GF using the same logic; however it wasn’t the case. Waitress didn’t know it either and first said a dish was GF then said it wasn’t. Unfortunately we had to cancel our dessert order. Other than that it was lovely, I’d visit again.

Great wine and good selection. Ambient amusing and joyful atmosphere, not only the music but also the people there. The food options were OK, didnt try many, just the cheese platter could be more fulfilled. Would definitely go again if in the area.

Yelp
Disrespectful, and they truly don't care We had a disastrous Christmas lunch experience with the team here in December. They booked us for outside seating (!), in December, by default, without any warning, and made us sit at below zero temperatures with a couple of heaters that were not enough at all. They have also overcharged us for wine we didn't order, and it took weeks to negotiate and get refund for this. To add an insult to the injury, they were incredibly arrogant and even rude when we politely complaned later. A short summary of their responses: they apparently told us it would be outside in an email confirmation (they didn't, we went through all emails); we should've known the venue and that there wasn't enough space (!!) (why to take a booking then if there's not enough space for this number of people?); we could've cancelled on the day and went somewhere else (seriously, with the large group of people some of whom travelled from far to get together, at Christmas outing time, how easy would it be to find another place?); and that it's totally ok to sit outside in December (seriously, in London??). The responses made us feel that they simply didn't care about customers but only about how much extra they could make during high demand season. They've also suggested we should come back so they could make up of it. Seriously?? No goodwill compensation was offered, of course. I'd like to warn anyone against coming here. The food was overpriced and not impressive either.
